We're using the system as a stand-alone with no internet available, but connected to our TV for a monitor.
It works very well in this environment, with great night-time function too.
A picture-in-picture function for the TV would be a nice improvement.

Looks good and works fine except for the motion record on auto sequence and quad mode, which are defective so I am seeking a replacement. Have note heard back as of yet.

First, delivery was fast. Second, you can read the manual, but really, plug in the monitor, plug in the cameras, and there's the picture. I have two Lorex units. The second one came with two cameras, one of which did not work. Lorex sent a replacement camera right away with a pre-paid return for the defective unit. So far, so good.

The system works great and is easy to set up. I just wish it was more Mac friendly! Can't use it with Skype to view remotely.

I am, frankly, a clutz; I was astounded by the ease with which I installed and operated the Lorex camera system. It came together exactly as the instructions called for, and worked, immediately from right out of the box. It delivered exactly what I wanted, i.e. advance notice of what might perhaps be a security issue, then full details on exactly what was going on. It worked immediately, and within the first month had given me a couple of alerts about people approaching the door about whom I had some reservations. I recommend this system highly for anyone, but especially for anyone who has some doubts about his or her ability to install and operate a really useful video camera security system.

Just got my system up and working, so far very happy with what I bought. Will probably be adding more cameras. Conforting knowing my house is monitored when home or gone. Only regret is not getting a larger monitor.

Aside from a few install glitches (which were resolved with determination by the tech staff), this system is everything it advertises. The resolution is wonderful.
Would like to see this be able to record simultaneously when tethered for Skype.

I got this system over the holidays and I can safely say that it exceeds my expectations. I felt pretty safe purchasing the product after reading the reviews. A quick phone call to Lorex confirmed the quality of their customer service. Installation of the cameras is quick and hassle free. The system works perfectly out of the box. I?m impressed with the night vision, motion detection coupled with the alarm that lets you know someone is at your door and not to forget the recording capability as well as a the remote viewing via Skype.
In summary if you are looking for a great value and reliable / fun system to use: this is yours! Highly recommend it.

Great surveillance system for the price.

We were looking for a system where the monitor could be moved from room to room. This system works perfect for our home. The set up took approximately 30 minutes with no hassles. The footage is clear and the entire operating system is user friendly. It allows us to monitor the exterior of the house no matter which room we are in.

This is a great low cost product that works like a high cost product. I couldn't be happier about the ease of installation and use. I had this system up and running with holes drilled through garage walls for power to the cameras and cameras mounted in about an hour and a half. I have never had a system until now and am amazed about the Lorex technology. Thank you Lorex, a very happy customer.

Had originally purchased the original analog series from Costco with a 9" screen;
However, the camera had some issues and was returned and exchanged for the
SD9 Live system.

A significant improvement in colour and quality of picture and cameras.

The system is easy to use and excellent for surveillance whether at home or at the
Office. In addition, when you are away from home, you are able to view everything
through their link.

I also have an IP camera that is used indoors, but having a fixed setup with screen that
Is always on is Much more useful than having to turn on a monitor or remote device to view cameras.

I bought this second system to add two more cameras, whilst having a backup screen in
Case the original will run into issues.

Also, the staff at Lorex were excellent and friendly. They took the time to answer any
Questions I had, and aided greatly in my decision to choose the right model.

Thank you again Lorex.

LW272? - Not sure why, but LW2732 came in the mail. I received the product in a few days after ordering online. I opened up the box and this was essentially what I ordered -- two wireless cameras and a 7" monitor/recorder.

Power - You may need a new outlet installed near where you decide to place the camera. I ended up splitting from an outlet in my garage and drilling a hole through my exterior wall. That camera is plugged into a newly installed outlet just inside that garage wall. Another hole was drilled through my vinyl window at the opposite end of my house. That camera is plugged into an outlet near the corner in my living room. Power supply will be the most time consuming part of installation. Mounting the camera and learning how to use the display/recorder will be the easy part. The camera has three feet of power cord attached, while the adapter that plugs into that cord has six feet for a total of nine.

Setup - It works right away when everything is plugged in. Adjusting the cameras is easy and so is navigating the monitor/recorder.

Image - This is not HD; however, it will suffice if you are looking to identify somebody. The daytime image is color and is better than the nighttime image. The nighttime image is good and will be useful if the person of interest gets anywhere near the camera. My biggest concern before purchasing was the motion sensing range. This will not be an issue. The specs say 21 feet for IR, although IR is not the only method of detecting motion. I always have my system on the motion sensing setting and I have videos that initiate based on motion way beyond 21 feet. Cars passing by nearly 40 feet away routinely cause recording. I would recommend using the "four channel motion recording" setting, especially if your cameras cover adjacent areas. This is the only setting that allows you to record more than one camera at once. Otherwise, you will need to have your motion sensing recording setting at five seconds. If you set it any higher, your other cameras won't be recording when your suspect moves around your house.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase and I think Lorex puts out a good product. I have not had a need to contact customer service, so I cannot rate it. I think this product is a good value. I bought it while it was on sale and paid $229.00.
