Have an office security product that cost much more (6x). This does the job-only difference is optics quality. Remote web browser feature allows access from anywhere! Setup and install of the product was easy-need a video monitor. Remote access took 3 attempts-need to be on-site to configure router,DVR, remote port access. Win Explorer 8 easy-Win 9 requires compatability mode.

Mine System Works Fine, Happy With It,

I purchased the system even though it had a couple of negative reviews. I had the system installed in a property I have in Mexico a couple of months ago. I did have it installed by a professional installer in Mexico just because I ran out of time to do it and wanted to get it operational. I can view pictures on my computer via Internet Explorer (Google chrome is not supported) and my android phone without any problem. At this point I am very satisfied. The pictures are clear and motion caught without being too jerky. I have not had any problems.

I would recommend this system!

A Great Product!

The multi-cam security system is the way to go. It's easy to set up, and the DVR system is a fantastic way to go back and pinpoint a particular moment in time. It helps our business not only with security, but also with inventory inquiries and overall efficiency. The night-vision isn't as pristine as, say, that of a Navy SEAL's, but it illuminates the scene enough to catch anything suspicious. Overall- a great product.

I am totally new to security cameras so.. I may not really have the experience to truly do a good review...Anyway
I am happy with the features of the DVR. I got go the free DVR upgrade (8 chan) and it came with a larger HDD that I was expecting. That was nice and so cool. Even the cameras that came with it were better that was was listed. I was expecting the night vision to be a better but I understand that I may need to upgrade to better cameras in areas where I need longer range. I am not real happy with the range and night vision. Of course they are what they are. So that is more my fault, I just know to get better cameras later. I had no idea what how it would look. I think this was a good starter unit for me as I will want to add more to it as I have a large area I need to monitor.

One of my cameras would not switch from B/W to color... I tried all the tips on the trouble shooting page then decided it was not defective. I called Lorex, explained the issue and the young lady was super super nice...very helpful and is sending me a replacement. That beats all being so simple and dealing with such a nice person willing to help.. Oh, and she was not in some India call center... Just for that alone I will do more business with Lorex.

Not bad for price, room for improvement

I bought this camera to monitor my garage.

The motion grid feature is cool.

installation was a breeze. More bells & whistles than I'll ever use for my purposes.

Image quality during the day is back to 1980's.

Image quality during the night is back to the early 1970's in black & white. The fine tuning is nice but can not save the settings. must be re-adjusted for night and the day manually for optimum pict. quality when used outdoors. The Hard drive capacity is huge- 500gig will last for months when set to record on motion only.

Overall I'm satisfied with this puchase the biggest hassle being the constant manual re-setting between day and night..
