Works As Described
This camera was purchased for trips to Grammy's house and it works like a charm. Great image quality day or night and great range for going though floors and walls.

Nicely thought out and very good performance.
Pros: Functions, performance
Cons: Nitpicking, but a larger LCD would always be a nicer thing.
I've used Lorex security products (camera systems) in commercial applications before so I did some research on their site when I saw this available on Best Buy online. The BBY site is not very helpful in explaining the functions. There is a product marketing spec sheet on Lorex site that is a bit more helpful.
But, what both sites won't explain is how easy it is to use and the following: Get this as a starter. The receiver comes with a stand and recharges on it. The stand can also stay connected to a larger display, so once you insert it back on there, the image will show up on your other display. You can connect up to 3 more cameras (I ordered the outdoor one along with this to test this out, not knowing how they were going to work together, if at all). It is simple to connect these cameras to the receiver (securely also). You can autoscan all attached cameras or manually toggle through them. In addition, you can set the light sensitivity remotely through the LCD receiver (very cool!). If Lorex includes all this information in their marketing, they should be able to sell more. What good are all the cool features if people dont know about them until they buy it? Trust me, I am a marketing manager for a computer hardware company.
Well, cool features are nice if the most important function is not up to par. I am happy to report that the video performance is more than satisfactory for its intended use. Sure, it's not a high-end CCD camera. However, what you do get is visually clear images (unlike other analog wireless cameras I have purchased that show more static than I care to look at). It even works fairly well in complete darkness. The colors are highly saturated, but that's not as important to me. For the price/performance/features package here, I am satisfied enough to go ahead and order a couple more cameras to complete this basic video surveillance system.

best baby monitor ever!
this product is great! we had bought this exact product just over a year ago, and loved it! However, we had an issue with the dock and ended up brakeing it. We replaced it with the same one or so we thought. Lorex has obviously done some upgrades! The issue we had has been changed on the newer model and the picture is even better! Love this, it's great to see baby. Night vision is perfect! would recomend it to anyone.

Great Camera
Pros: Easy setup, no interference and great picture
Cons: Short battery life and heats up when charging
This monitor is 10 times better than those offered by Babies R Us for monitoring our baby in this price range. The picture is clear day and night, the sound is great, and the monitor actually displays a colored image as advertised. The main downside is the monitor has a short battery life and you have to constantly recharge the monitor. The monitor has yet to hold its charge all night long, so we have to leave it plugged in and it gets really hot.

A good deal!
Pros: Very easy to use! No fancy setup needed.
Cons: Reciever monitor does not last very long without a recharge soon.
I bought this to watch my driveway and gate. It works great! Goes thru walls and such (not metal walls). I get decent signal thru about 3 walls and the camera is about 100ft outside the house. Sound is good too.

Good choice for the money
We were looking for a replacement device for a baby monitor that my wife and I use as a monitor for our disabled son. The video quality is good and the night-time viewing is an added plus. Our only complaint would be the range doesn't quite meet what the manufacturer states.

Nice, but not really . . .
Main reason for buying was ability to add cameras. Ease of setup and adding cameras was great, but that's about all. Handheld gets way too hot, volume adjustment is severely limited - lowest setting is mute and next setting up is too loud, picture is clear but choppy as many digital units seem to be. Battery life is just plain lousy - 2 hours at best, even with the picture set in energy save mode.
