Here's a closer look at the ways a Lorex Cloud Subscription can protect your security camera footage:

Footage overwritten too quickly: The local storage on Lorex security cameras is designed to overwrite the oldest footage with the newest footage when the memory card becomes full. With cloud storage, there is no need to worry about this, as it offers 30 days worth of footage.

Broken or damaged SD cards: Lorex uses the highest-quality security-grade microSD cards in all our Wi-Fi cameras, but that does not guarantee its performance. With a cloud subscription, recordings are saved directly to the Cloud so even if the local storage fails, you will not lose a moment.

Physical camera theft: Unfortunately, it happens. In many cases, the thief will simply steal a camera to prevent any evidence that can be used against them. Cloud storage, however, ensures that, even if this does happen, the footage of them before the camera was disconnected remains for you to access and provide to authorities.

Lost access to recordings when the device is offline: With cloud storage, you can access your recordings anytime, anywhere – even when your device is offline.

It is also important to note that no changes to your current in-camera setup is affected by adding a cloud storage plan. Your camera will still record to the local microSD card as usual. Cloud storage simply supplements this footage by adding a secondary instance of your data. You can access these cloud recordings through the Lorex app, where you can view motion event thumbnails on the timeline to help you quickly find footage (not available with local storage only).

Cloud storage offers a secure solution for managing and protecting your security footage. It provides peace of mind, convenience, and valuable features that enhance the overall effectiveness of your security camera(s). To conclude, a popular adage when speaking of data is that if it doesn’t exist in two places, it doesn’t exist at all. Cloud storage ensures that even if something does occur to your camera’s local storage, your footage won’t be lost forever with no recourse.
