bought one for previous house and worked great so purchased 2nd unit. remote access a bit of a challenge bur rest of system is great.
We've had a Lorex security camera system for a number of years and it worked great.
We upgraded to a system that allows us to view the cameras on our smart phone recently,
the cameras work good but the software took a little more work to set up then expected.

This was my second system I purchased from Lorex, Unfortunately it turned out to be a night mare. I have had nothing but trouble with Lorex from day one. I had to contact Technical Support several times to try and figure out what was wrong with my cameras. I was transferred to several different techs and they still had no clue what was wrong with my cameras. It started to seem as if they did not care. I finally had to get in touch with the corporate office to resolve my problem. I ended up having to upgrade to a better camera system.
Very happy with the product. Easy install, easy set up, and DNS server set up for viewing with web browser and smart phone. I chose this system because a friend of mine bought one similar at costco and he was very impressed. i did not know much about these systems but impressed with the quality of the system

great products. however some things need a little attention.
your cameras are fine for outdoor use but don't receive enough light to switch over to a color picture when used indoors in some installations. would be great if the installer could adjust light level of changeover to B&W & color.
Play back software could be better. You don't have reverse search. and you cant view all channels that have motion at the same time. your limited to 4 cameras at a time. I realize this is for a better picture on limited bandwidth but you should give us a choice to access these settings. also on your phone app you make us change the default password before the app works. some people need to keep the default password unchanged. give US the option.
The only reason I'm making these suggestions is because you have a good product that intend to sell exclusively and I want to make it better..

I Have Installed 3 systems & on my 4th system 3 systems were a 16 channel systems & 1 system was a 8 channel systems, all were fun to install, there was a little work installing the cable but that is to be expected right.? I install & run cable for phone, computer & camera systems for a living so it is a little easier for me to do so. but when i need help the tech support is the best to none, they are very knowledgeable & patient when talking to them on the phone, thou some times it takes about 10 to 15 min. to get to tech support it is worth the wait...& in a little while the system is up &n running.

This was such a great buy! It was easy to install and the clarity is great. We couldn't be happier.
We needed a fair priced system that could monitor our second house and we found it! We have a country home that we don't get down to on a regular basis. We had a water leak and were concerned that it could happen again or we could have a break in while away. This system is great and can be easily viewed by my phone and laptop. My son set it up in an afternoon (he did buy one first and installed it in his home, then convinced us that we needed it as well). Now we can access by any device. We love it.
Great product, fast installation. Price is great and now we can know what's happening at all times since we can see from our phones, iPads , etc. the night vision is excellent. We still need to figure out how to install the disk on our Mac computer, but we will call Lorex customer service after the holidays and I'm sure they will be happy to help. Little cost for great piece of mind.
You can't get anywhere close to this good of a system for the price. This complete system was on sale on the Lorex website for less than half the original price and included everything I needed. Replaced an ancient Motorola Homesight system that had poor resolution, no night vision, no remote access (except through a 3rd party program like LogMeIn), and a lot of glitches--This system solves all of those problems. The LH840M's 500GB hard drive holds a week's worth of continuous video from 4 cameras, set to the highest resolution. Hardware is very easy to set up, and so are the remote viewing options. Within a day I was watching live video and reviewing footage from my android phone and my MacBook. The camera cables were more than long enough for my small 2-bedroom, 1-story house. Couldn't rate it a 5 though because the resolution is not the best, but the systems with the best resolution cost 3 to 5 times more. This system's resolution of 960H and the 660TVL cameras still don't allow you to read the license plate on a car. This is, in my opinion, an upper-mid-level system at a VERY good price, when it was on sale.

Great product. Nice cameras with easy set-up. Good daytime clarity but night vision is a bit blurry through wi-fi. Have not played back any recorded video from the DVR yet. Installation was tougher than expected as I am meticulous with hiding the wires. The included wires are very thin so I recommend buying the heavier duty wire for tight pulls (one of the included wires broke during installation) Love being able to view video on phone and tablet. Overall, good system. Already looking at more cameras with more features to expand my system.
I was looking for a security camera system and saw a Lorex system that a friend had installed. Was every impressed with the quality of the video. Only needed a 4 camera system and decided on this one since the price was very good. Arrived promptly. Installation can be a challenge if you want to hide the cables. System allows for an additional 4 cameras if you wish to add more later. It is a good idea to test out the system before installing to make sure that everything is working properly. Happy with the product so far.

We just purchased our 3rd Lorex Security System and have been generally pleased with the product and very pleased with the technical support. S. FL weather conditions are extreme and the cameras have held up fairly well, though some have had to be replaced. Overall, Lorex offers good value at an affordable price and we remain loyal customers..
Great product for the price. I was very unsure on what system or even brand I was after and knew very little about DVR systems. Last minute I decided to loom at Lorex systems. I knew I wanted a 4 camera system with as close to 700 tvl as possible for the clarity on the cameras, a monitor was a plus. The fact that this system does 8 channels is great, iv already ordered an extra camera.
Delivery was fast and setup was pretty easy. The system does not seem to come with any instructions on set up or how to use the devise when it is up and running, however it was pretty simple and if needed the manual can be downloaded from the site. I have recommended this same set up now to a few other people.
We could not be happier with this system. Great system and great price. With both the system itself and the remote viewing, it is invaluable. I have worked with CCTV for 20 years and this is the best "bang for your buck" that I have found. It is equal to, if not better than, systems costing 3x the Lorex listed price.

System installed easy with directions. Daytime viewing is nice but nighttime could be a lot better.
I bought two systems one for home and one for the office but it is not easy at all to switch location viewing on the Lorex Mobile Eco app. You would think you could switch back and forth from one device to the other and that is why I bought two systems but you can not without resetting your device in the app each time (need to fix that).
At least I got them at 50% off or I would have sent them back.
The LH84 system I purchased works as advertised. The cameras are NOT PTZ, but you can add cameras at additional cost that would do that. My bad for not reading the fine print. Cameras have a decent range of coverage and will help to deter crime in my neighborhood. I would suggest a "demo" set up before you drill any holes, just to familiarize yourself with the hook ups.

Camera system has worked well with a few quirks and quibbles, but overall a good value. PROS: + Video quality generally good, best in medium daylight. + Infrared (for night and dim light) sensors work well, though blurry at times. + Local, PC and mobile access makes monitoring your cameras a snap. + Easy to use interface allows you to monitor real-time or review past footage. + Set up your own DDNS with Lorex for easy remote access. + Email alerts let you know when motion is detected in zones of your choosing. + Can restrict recording to motion only, to conserve on recording, allow for speedier review. + Audible signals (alarms) can cue you when someone approaches a door or other area. + Lots of controls to adjust brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, sensitivity, and so on. + Mostly self-maintaining: Just set it up and let it do its thing. CONS: - Cost to install can dwarf the actual cost of the system (as with any surveillance system). - Infrared on cameras sometimes go off by themselves; easily remedied by un/replugging. - Focus/sharpness could be better; might be hard to read license plate from 20 feet away. - Picks up interference/distortion in some areas, like in dusty garage interior. - Get audio interference even though cams are non-audio. (Fixed by toggling speaker icon). - In-store display is deceptive since 1/2 the controls pertain to PVZ cams (not included). - Only about 2/3 of questions asked of support get answered! The rest tend to be ignored.
This is my second lorex system . The support team and warranty are second to none. The software is easy to set up . i had some problems with the first system but the support team should me the errors of my ways and got me up and running very quickly, The i phone app works great from any where, and pc software works great and the play back options are enable me to check back in time. Overall i would highly recomend any of the lorex products

I am very satisfied with this product, and the technical support. Aside from the cabling, the installation was a breeze. I was up and running in an hour or two. The dynamic dns hosting makes it very easy to monitor the cameras from my droid, or from any laptop with an internet connection.

We could not be happier with this product or the Lorex support. The remote access through a cellphone is invaluable, as I check the cameras several times a day. The phone support is quick and helpful. You would think it's back in the seventies with the attentive customer support!!
Cameras are installed under a house roof under hang. Night: I.R. works fairly well however at times I needed to unplug and re-plug the power to get one of the camera I.R. to function. Day light or lighted use (non I.R. use) cameras are excellent. Support: Providing you can get to a 2nd tier technician you get good tech support however it may take several days to reach one or you may get one on the first time calling depending on their back up of calls of the two times they promised to call back (24 to 48 hours) they failed to call back at all. Quality overall: Overall for the price you can't find a better camera system.
Easy to install but direction for setting up is not clear.
