Hard Drive Installation
The system comes with a pre-installed 3.5" SATA hard drive. You can replace the hard drive with one up to a maximum size of
8TB.
19.1 Installing a Hard Drive

CAUTION
|
Make sure that the system is OFF and the power adapter is disconnected before removing/installing the hard drive.
|
To install the hard drive:

Insert hard drive screws (4x) on the hard drive and tighten them half way.

Power off the system, and unplug all cabling from the system.

Remove the rear panel screws (4x) and side panel screws (1x on each side). Remove the cover.

Place the hard drive over the screw slots on the bottom of the system and then slide the hard drive into place. The SATA connectors
on the hard drive should face the right side of the unit if looking at it from the rear.

Connect the SATA power and data cable to the hard drive.

Turn the system over carefully. Tighten the hard drive screws (4x) to secure the hard drive.

CAUTION
|
Hold the hard drive in place when turning the system over to prevent damage to the system.

Replace the cover and cover screws (6x).

|
After installation, you must format the hard drive in order to use it with the system. See
Formatting Hard Drives
.

19.2 Removing the Hard Drive

CAUTION
|
Make sure that the system is OFF and ALL power adapters have been disconnected before removing/installing the hard drive.
|

Power off the system, and unplug all cabling from the system.

Remove the rear panel screws (4x) and side panel screws (1x on each side). Remove the cover.

Turn the system over and loosen the hard drive screws (4x), but do not remove them.

Disconnect the SATA power and data cable from the hard drive.

Carefully turn the system over. Slide the hard drive and then lift it out of the system.

Replace the cover and cover screws (6x).
