Connection on back of unit are too close together, almost impossible to connect / disconnect cameras. Poor design and functionality. This is the second unit I have returned for same problems, connections are poor, cameras go off, won't stay on, impossible to keep all cameras on and viewing.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any difficulty you experienced and we are happy to have assisted you with your warranty replacement.

This dvr has a smaller footprint than my older one. I have not hooked up all the hd cams yet,but I seem to be having trouble getting the dvr to recognize some of the cams. It may be because I still have analog cams connected to it. Seems like it is easier to connect this one for remote viewing, although I have been told I can't use my range extender as a connection now. HD cams are definitely more crisp than my 660tvl cams.

Bought this security camera system for a mechanic shop. Was apprehensive on installing it myself, but it turned out to be incredibly easy. The DVR GUI is very easy on the eyes when it comes to modifying Recording, Schedule and Network settings. Tech support is always helpful when needed. I got a great deal for 16 cameras and it arrived days before the actual delivery date!! The recording footage is unbelievable, crystal clear whether using the iPhone App or over the Internet. Cameras work great inside and outside, even through the very COLD Ohio winters! Overall I am very pleased!

I upgrade my system and really am impressed with the quality and price. Did not have to replace existing wires as the previous wires were compatability. Very clear picture both day and night. I like that the wire to the camera is inside the housing. No wires visible when installed if you place the wall hole behind the camera. Would give 5 stars because I Am very satisfied with picture, however, will only give 4 stars because of the following suggestions and cautions: Web connect is slow but manageable. Sometimes takes a while to open view. Replay is awkward. Needs a little tweaking on "user friendly" side. Camera housing and mounting hardware are cheap plastic. One came cracked and stripped out. Called Lorex and I am being shipped new mount plate. Would suggest Lorex make mount out of metal. Make the screw longer on camera rotation ring or make ring out of metal to lower risk of stripping.

I was apprehensive about doing the installation myself but the system went together smoothly. My wife loves the ability to see who is at the front door before she opens it. The only thing that needs improvement is the software because you cannot access all of the administrative features remotely.

We received our system later than the designated ship date. Once we installed it we had significant issues with the DVR. It took us OVER A MONTH to get a new DVR replacement, even though we were told it'd be in within 5-7 days. We were consistently given the run around when we called into customer support on the status of our claim. My ticket was closed before the replacement DVR was received. When trying to access the DVR with the remote it is not very user friendly. But we finally figured it out. Press this button, then that button, oh, no, not that one. Start all over again. Maybe it will be easier when using the mobile app or website log in. The cameras seem to be working ok, We've not figured out how to access the recorded video to testify on the night vision quality. All in all due to the lack of customer support when an issue arises, I regret to say, I would not buy another one of these systems.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the delay in shipping your replacement DVR. If you need any technical assistance, our support team would be happy to assist and can be reached at 1-877-755-6739.

This is a great system. I upgraded my current Lorex system to 960H 16 Channel system which has a very clear picture. I like being able to view the camera from my cell phone. My cell phone would not pick up the camera until I went out of the range of my wireless router which my Cell phone was logged into at home. I was well pleased with my purchase from Lorex web sight.

This is an incredible value for the price. I am upgrading from a standard resolution DVR and the resolution difference in the 960H is incredible! The system is very easy to set up and the mobile app works great. I highly recommend Lorex DVRs and cameras.

This is a very good security system for the price i paid for. I had a problem with a DVR and they walk me through try to reset and when the DVR didnot respond so they ask me to send the DVR to them and they replaced it wiyhout any questions. I definately recomand this security system to anyone who wants to secure their place with budget.

Bought this system in Feb.........initially was disappointed at CS for not letting me know it would be 4 weeks before it would be shipped. Once received, I installed the system, very easy and user friendly, I got it up and connected and have been very resolution is great even at night, the camera shows a great deal of detail. I would recommend this system to anyone looking for an inexpensive yet quality surveillance system. By the way, I am an electrician and have installed other systems for business that cost in excess of $5,000 with less than desirable results in functionality. The only thing that can be made better is having connectivity for Windows phone as well as making the DDNS service better.

I have the 24 channel system and while most of it works okay, I have NEVER been able to consistently use the remote viewing option in network or on my cell phone outside of the network. I have had 5 help tickets on this product and it still does not work. I had one customer service rep that was great and fixed after about an hour on the phone, only to have it stop working the next day. If you submit a ticket on the web site, they will close it if you do not respond quick enough, but they take 1-2 business days to respond. While the product may be decent, their customer service prevents me from purchasing another Lorex product or recommending it, primarily because one of the key features, the remote viewing, has never worked consistently.

I purchased this 16 camera system to replace the 2 year old First Alert system I had been using. I could not determine what the camera resolution was on the old system, but obviously the technology has improved dramatically since the time I bought it! These new 900H cameras have an incredible picture, even when viewing all 16 cameras on the monitor at the same time (images are small but can still see very clearly). My old system had a bizarre color shift so that green plants looked pink, but the Lorex cameras all reproduce color accurately. The biggest difference though is in the night vision capability. My old system had terrible night vision images, but these new Lorex cameras produce amazingly detailed black & white images that are just as clear as they are in broad daylight! My property is a double lot that has the main residence and an in-law cottage, and with 16 cameras there literally is no place on the property that I can't see everything going on around me. So far I've connected the remote access to my iPhone & ipad, but still have to get the remote access connected to my computer at my office. Very pleased thus far & would highly recommend! Got the unit on sale directly through Lorex who also had a special 10% off offer making their system cheaper that any other comparable system I could find on Amazon, even when comparing it to 8 or 12 camera systems!!

Product arrived quickly and was well-packed. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. internet connectivity to iOS products worked immediately. Lots of features that one can explore. The cameras work well for home use. Night vision is B&W with lighted areas in color. Search/ playback capability work well. A great system for folks that need lots of cameras. Excellent value for the price.

I were looking a replacement for my old lorex 8 channel security system considering that i needed more cameras to cover a larger area of recording, i found this product excelent and convenient for my needs. Its easy to set up the dvr althought they are 16 cameras to install, the image quality is excelent as the recording interface too. Remote viewing also is easy to set up. i would recomend this product for any bussines that has large areas to be recorded.

All, I got the system and do love it.. HOWEVER.. be warned that in this case you do get what you pay for. The cameras are nice.. the DVR is also as nice..But the wireless remote connection program called Lorex Stratus works perfect at home. When your away you will get Failed Connect time and time again. It will take you to the breaking point. In case, my home alarm went off and i was notified by my home security. I grab my Galaxy Note 3 and try, and try, and try for hours for it to connect. It never did and I had my neighbor go over and look at the house to make sure no one had broke in. Isn't the point of having remote access is to connect and view????? The Lorex cam and dvr are great. but it honestly, it feels like a class of 5th graders wrote the viewing online program. If LOREX is listening.. FIX the viewing online problem.. make it reliable.. Let me say that again RELIABLE and easy to use. And then I feel it will be worth 5 stars.

Ordered this system to replace my old Lorex system that died. (and I was very happy with that one). Shipping seemed a little slow at first but still showed up within the original timeframe listed. Plugged it into my existing cameras and what a difference. This one records at a much better resolution and was easy to access from outside my network. No more router configs and port forwarding. I was also pleasantly pleased to find that the 500 GB hard drive I was supposed to get was actually a 2 TB hard drive, and no Lorex, you can't have it back.

I don't normally write reviews on products. I just had to write this one,to let consumers know how satisfied I am with this Lorex cctv system. I had another brand SAM ,have had it for 8 months and myself and 2 other people very familiar with p/c could not get it to work on iphone. Purchased the Lorex , was up and working in about 30 min. The quality of the Lorex on all features are great. Would most defiantly comment it. Thanks Lorex

Well I like love the clarity on most of them but I had issues on some cameras and customer service has been very good so far. My tenants hate these cameras though since I can catch them not closing laundry door or dumpster gate now. I recorded the the culprit and video taped the person with my IPhone who wasn't closing the gate and it was swinging when winding & can loosen and fall off the hidges. I knew it was him but now he can't lie anymore. So now I have control and I can see what's happening. I'm glad I didn't get wireless because I read that the signal is not as strong. For the price I am very happy. Customer service was great for helping me with the App on my Home PC and I can view from my phone. Yay! Now I feel my properties are more safe.

I've had this product for about 5 months now and I am very satisfied with this product. However tech support was needed in order to get the smartphone app running after it had stopped. They are not the easiest to work with. It took 2 separate phone calls over a few days (and waiting on hole for almost 2 hours the second call, only an hour and 10 minutes on the first) before we could get it working. Other than tech support and waiting so long, I gotta say that we are very happy with the product

I could not be much happier with this security device (ECO2 DVR) and the Lorex support team. I am offering my sincere thanks to Mr. Mac, Technical Person and to Mr. Patrick, the Senior Technical Person of LOREX for their cordial support. Specially Mr. Patrick, who can resolve the Tech. problem very quickly and accurately. This Lorex surveillance systems is giving me the peace of mind. I can monitor my home, and family, live & remotely via internet and smart phones as many times as I want a day. This security device (ECO2 DVR Series) is very helpful product. So, thanks to LOREX, and its excellent support team. I will rate this product happily with 5 stars. Dated: 06/05/2013.

This week I completed the installation of my 6th Vantage/ECO based system. 3 are 8 Cam [LH130 series and 3 Blackbox 4 Cam LH010 series. All are using the 700 TVL cameras that came with the LH130 systems These are being used for environmental monitoring of homes at different physical locations in different states. All on different ISP's and modem/routers. All installed by CAREFULLY following the instructions for Internet connectivity. Using my droid I am on top of conditions 24/7! Thank you Lorex for this product and technical support. DDNS hosting is great as well! Lesson Learned: The 60ft [Lorex provided] cables work great even extended to 120 ft. BUT note that even thought the BNC Connectors [the Yellow ones] are the same on both ends of the cable, the power connectors are not identical! Make sure your cable runs have the correct end toward the cameras. You will only install it backwards one time!! Especially where runs require a lot of hole drilling and routing of the cable..

All tested well out of the box, then a day to wire it all up for exterior property surveillance. I installed mine on the garage/shop to view the alley and back yard, then spent 2 days trying to connect remote viewing to the house. I finally found out it must be connected via ethernet (cat 5 or cat 6) to the router in the house and won't work with a WiFi device attached to the DVR. (Not stated in the manual). More searching to find a 100' outdoor ethernet cable (without success), so purchased bulk indoor wire and plugs and ran it to the house. 4 more days of trying to get remote viewing with success on the 8th day from start of installation. Many calls to Lorex help with not overly long times on hold. The manual states a "moderate' level of knowledge needed to get all up and running, which is this and more. Great help from Lorex support, but most steps each needed a call to set all the technical stuff needed as very confusing for a 'non-techie'! The cameras cover a wide viewing area and work well day and night. All info is on the Lorex site(s) but a bit difficult to navigate. All in all, I would rate this product at a 'best bang for the buck' scenario. Very detailed manual but still phone tech support for remote setup can save hours of frustration setting port forwarding and the multitude of number settings needed. So far, so good and I would recommend this system.

When I purchased this unit in July '12 I envisioned it would be little work after installation however that has not been the case. Multiple defective cameras, specifically the night feature burnt out on two cameras within 6 months of purchase; 2 mos later I'm still waiting on a replacement camera for the last one I returned. Tech support is decent, but hit or miss; the last tech I spoke to was extremely knowlegable. Still trying to get some existing bugs with the email worked out; I will have to call back as I almost never get a return call. Hours of support are not convenient for west coast unless you want to get up at 5 AM. The unit has not lived up to my expectation and on the verge of returning it to Costco before my year is up.
