First time using a system like this and i had a hard time with the settings. Couldn't connect with support. other wise it's a good system. very clear and great colors. i have it set up with a 32" 720 tv. hard to beat for the price. i rate it 4 stars ,mainly because of the lack of support.

I purchased this unit in August of 2016 directly from Lorex. One of the cameras was DOA. I made contact with LOREX right away and they told me it would be replaced ASAP. It is now almost two months later and it has not yet arrived. I have asked for an update, but they will not provide one.

Well now a few days ago, I noticed the entire DVR unit was dead. It will not power up and appears to have had a catastrophic failure. I created a new ticket, but they told me it is "on customer service" to help me. Sorry, but it's on your company as a whole to help me...I don't want to be pushed around to different departments; I just want a resolution. I can only hope that a replacement DVR gets here much quicker than my replacement camera, which has not yet arrived. If I could do it over again, I would have bought a better product. I have a serious case of "buyer's remorse."

As for the product: When it works, it works pretty well. The picture is adequate and the software is quite user-friendly. However, quality and longevity appear to be lacking.

Our sincere apologies for the wait. We hope the replacement is working well now.

I have one FLIR Cloud system, setup for recording/viewing the east side of home on a one acre lot and works great with my iOS phone app.
I decided to get a second FLIR Cloud system this year to help record/view the west side of home.
Installed cameras, configure system to home network, put settings in the same FLIR Cloud iOS app I have on my phone for first system and as my grandson would say, "bam" both system cameras are viewable on FLIR Cloud iOS phone app. GREAT.
I have not set up to view on home computer. May try this also in future.
Now days I find myself using my mobil devices 90% of the time.
Thanks FLIR,

I recommend this product to others as it is easy to set up and customer service is very helpful if you run into any issue. The clarity
of the video is excellent and the ease of operation. The price was exceptionally low and I was pleased to see it did not affect quality.

Great picture quality. Day and night you can see great distance. Large things like cars will set the motion detection off at some distance 50 to 150 feet. People do not set the motion detection off greater than about 30 feet, if the cameras are mounted high motion detection is even more limited.

From the start to finish this company has impressed me. I called some installers to see what they thought, and they recommend Lorex. They said the internals are great and will last for years. This budget minded camera system was perfect for what I wanted, deterrence. I know this won't be good enough for facial recognition or super clarity. I don't think you will be able to get that with cameras unless you spend a lot of money. The app and web access is easy to use. The web access an be a little buggy. It sometimes won't detect the device. So far, I am very happy with the purchase. There are plenty of online manuals to help you figure this out. I have recommended this to my family members.

This is a really good system for the price. Install is easy and straight forward. Clarity seems good and bright night time is good for viewing but not making out specifics of a person. The cameras are good for 720HD the are narrow and do not give a wide angle which can be a huge negative. The only cons with it is the cables are all 60' when you need more length so that sets you back a few dollars and delays the install. The DVR is loud as expected by other reviewers. I would also suggest hiding the DVR so if someone should gain access they can't steal it to hide the evidence. It would be nice if it was able to record at 1080p but you will need to upgrade the DVR for that if you ever update the cameras. I would also suggest the extended warranty just based on some reviews and this is just for an extra security (no pun intended) if there is a failure. I have yet to have to speak with their IT department as I have not had any issues since I just installed these a few days ago. I will update once I have had the system for a while and figure out everything that it does and what works and doesn't.

I would highly recommend this kit and would buy another one of these kits or just spend the additional now for the 1080i kit. Either way you would be getting a great product

The equipment and software appear to be very nice and offer very clean images and ease of use. Very unfortunate the company can't correct their Customer Service Issues. I paid for 2-3day shipping and received the equipment 7 days via UPS ground. They owe me money and my email has gone unanswered. They do not answer their phones when attempting to contact by phone. The computer generated 30 min wait time prompt, is just a ploy I waited for over an hour and never got and answer. I'll give 2stars only because the company needs to be restructured and emphasis being placed on customer service.

Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We have credited your shipping charge.

I just installed this security system on my house and it was a very easy install. I am still learning about the features it offers and fine tuning my set up. my neighbour came out when I was installing the cameras outsidemy house and after discussing he went in and ordered a system for his house as well. So far I am very satisfied with my purchase. I had bought the same system at Costco but returned it as buying it directly from Lorex was actually cheaper in for this particilar system.

ON the whole I am pleased with the package contents. The purchase and online store was surprisingly painless even with the extreme deep discount I received during their summer end closeout sale. Shipping was a bit longer than expected ( over 2 weeks) and I am baffled why it was shipped from USA when Lorex has a full warehouse locally in Toronto. The overall design seems quite robust but the cabling has issues in that the factory ends on the camera are different lengths and the supplied 60 foot cables are not universal or clearly marked because the power connector alone will only work 1 way. A slight change in design where the BNC and power connectors at different lengths would allow for easier and trouble free install. IE place the same connectors on both ends of the cable making them reversible as they are not directional anyway and further stagger the connectors on BOTH the camera and the cord so that a little tension would not pull out the power connection. Staggered connectors would also allow the cable to easily pass through a smaller hole without all that farting around and possible damage to cable. I have not yet completed the full setup and remote features but I am looking forward to my new feeling of ease once I figure it all out. A full review will undoubtedly be submitted once all the bugs are shaken out. I went with a wired system because I am an old school guy who understand the KISS mantra. if I have to run a wire anyway for power why would I fart around with IP, radio interference, ports, wifi, and all that techno extra layers of point of failure. This was a great value buy and I hope it lives up to its pedigree. Now just to find a better hiding spot for the DVR so thieves don't take the footage as well as the valuables. Looking for a discreet lockable box with proper ventilation like a structure media cabinet. Surprised they don't offer one.

My camera system has been installed and operational for a couple weeks now. I am very impressed with the picture quality of the cameras. The night vision is pretty good from what I can tell. I love the fact that the cameras have the motion sensing capability built into the cameras (I actually found this out after installation which was a pleasant surprise). The Flir Cloud android app is also top notch. The camera system has a tremendous amount of options and features. I love how you can setup schedules and do combination of continuous recording and motion sensed recording. Extremely configurable. I haven't been able to figure out the emailing feature. The dvr is a bit noisy but that may be due to an internal fan (not sure). A relative installed a similar 8 camera system a couple years ago from a different manufacturer and paid more than double what I got this system for. Great high quality system that I highly recommend.

I like the system and how easy you can hook it up and get online. The BNC connectors are made very cheap and hence the corrosion which leads to faulty and broken pin.
I would give the equipment 4 stars and their phone support negative Zero.
I have been on hold for 30 min and still holding while am being trans fare around. They cannot even answer a simple question that requires a simple yes or no for an answer. If you hours to listen to on hold music, this the place for you. Am done. and not doing anymore business with them.

Thank you for your feedback, We apologize for any difficulty you experienced. The cabling should never be exposed as this makes it susceptible to tampering. While the cameras are rated outdoors, the cables need to be protected and sheltered (ie pvc piping etc). Our agent offered to transfer your call for further assistance but unfortunately you declined. If you change your mind and would like assistance with this, please contact us.

I was hesitant to buy a system with wired cameras only because of the work involved in running cables. The price helped to change my mind. Running the cables wasn't as bad as my mind had built it up to be. The cameras are some of the best I have seen. The viewing angle and image quality are excellent. Setup was simple, and it was up and running very quickly. I had some trouble connecting remotely from both the FLIR Client and the Android app, but was able to get going quickly once I contacted Tech Support. Turns out that I had shot myself in the foot... When I changed the system password, I gave it 8 characters when it needed 6. Once that was corrected everything fell into place. I am very happy with the system and the support, and I would not hesitate to buy again when the need arises.

I own both the LOREX HD 720 and HD 1080P (both analog and digital) systems and have custom built several 960H systems. I feel the LOREX LHD88 HD 720 provides the best overall performance for the money. The HD 720 has nearly the same resolution as the HD 1080P, is considerably cheaper and has many after market DIY enhancements. I am very pleased with the HD 720 cameras performance, (both day and night), and the DVR has excellent setup options allowing many custom performance options and the LOREX included software features make upgrades a snap. This is a very tough system to beat for the money. Highly recommended!

I purchased my Lorex LHD88. I found it to be a well designed CCTV security camera system for my house. The cables are great and do not require power in the attic. I would recommend this product for the price. I did find the software is clunky and needs to be refined. The web interface also needs some work as it requires a plug-in that is not available for most new browse. The mobile APP works great. It would be nice to see Lorex work with smart TV manufactures to create an app to stream to a smart TVs over a local LAN.

I have had a Night Owl and a ZModo DVR that promised email snaphots and remote access and neither one of them has worked well , if at all , doing those two things.
They recorded well enough, but you had to go to the console to actually review video, and notifications were triggered by a leaf moving apparently, no matter how low the sensitivity. None of the prior units would actually send a snapshot picture, and ZModo never responded to my email support request about why the package said it would, but the mail a snapshot option was not part of the unit.
So I bought this Lorex Unit, it has email snapshots listed and much higher quality cameras and recordiing capability. I intend to add a USB external drive, once i have it all set up.
Something I found on the old ZModo was that it would not overwrite the hard drive, and continuously pops up a warning on the screen that makes it almost impossible to get logged in due to the warning messages not stopping.
I am re stringing all of my new Lorex cables and will come back to update this review once I get my firewall configured and connect my phone and tablet to the system.
For the price, this system is quite a value, as it has more features, more cameras of better quality, the largest hard drive, and better looking software, than the other systems I have sitting in a pile in my workshop

I have received the product. It is more than I expected. I am Extremely pleased.
Excellent picture, Color, and phone app works awesome.
I measured distances before purchase and all cables were long enough at 60'.
I have some learning to do on how the DVR menu works. And I'm sure its like buying a new Smart T.V. and getting used to the remote.
My only regret is that I did not upgrade/purchase a DVR for more cameras.

Overall a very good system at a great price. It was very easy to install and the picture is great. There is a learning curve to using the dvr which I am still working on. Also, the android app doesn't work as I keep getting an "incorrect password" message. The PC software works great in the same network. I haven't yet tried using it remotely. Would be 5 starts except for the android app not working and the not so easy to navigate dvr.

I just purchased the LHD88 product, mostly off researching and reviews. Then price.
I loved the 1 star review of a person stating that the cables were to short, and that he then bought inferior cables. The product clearly states "60' cables" for each camera.
Also, He was not able to recall his password and then blaming support. Classic millennial.

My product is due July 14th 2016.
After hooking up the system, I'm sure I can/will change my review to 5 stars.

Great piece of equipment here. I bought for $350 with 3 years extended warranty! Was worth every penny. Would be nice if wireless, but the quality is superb! And plenty of functionality to go along with it. If looking for a solid wired camera setup, this is great start!

So sorry I paid for the system. The website stinks and worse every month I have delete the app and reload it all over again. This means taking a picture of the black code box on the system. It won't keep my cameras connected to the app. I've called and that is their solution. So what happens when I'm out of town, isn't the whole idea to have piece of mind that your home is safe! What good is it if you can't view your home. I also wanted to add 1 camera which they don't sell, you can spend another $300 for 2 cameras and a receiver. I don't know why I need another receiver though.

Great system! Very easy to get connected with the QR code on the DVR. Had a competitors system prior to this and there's no comparison. Lorex (Flir) wins hands down. My only issue was not product related. Just had some difficulty running BNC cable for some cameras as access was not good. When I was ready to connect I called Lorex and was up and running in less than 5 minutes!

If you're reading reviews about this product you can stop right now and add this to your cart. This system has far exceeded my expectations. The cameras are built rock solid. The DVR is fine quality. The video quality is outstanding. I'm tremendously satisfied with my purchase. I've had my system online since October and haven't had any problems or issues. I'm very selective about associating my name with a company. Lorex makes an outstanding product and that's the truth.

I ordered the system based on the color and description of cameras. The cameras in picture and color are white which are perfect for the location to be mounted. When I received the system the cameras they sent were all black. Had to send them back to Lorex, its been 14 days and still waiting on my refund.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the shipping error and would have been happy to send you the correct cameras. However, we have refunded your order as requested.

Way back at the end of Nov-2105 I bought the LHD88 system from Lorex however not only did the cameras come in a different color than advertised but they also included 8 cameras that were inferior then the ones described. I tried to contact customer service NUMEROUS times, by phone, got on their call back list, never heard from them. I called so man times I can't remember but I do know I was on hold at least 80+ minutes one time and 100+ minutes another time. All the emails got me nowhere and I knew I wanted nothing to do with this coma y or camera system. Heck, if they could not help me with this how were they ever going to help me if I had a real issue the cameras when installed. Finally got a RMA to return the unit, which I did, then I thought why am I paying the shipping costs when they sent me the wrong item. After another email I received word that I would be receiving a postage paid label which I did receive 3 days later. None of this did any good since I had already paid to ship the unit back. Again numerous emails, trouble tickets, calls etc. I did get my refund for the unit itself I must admit.

On 12/21 somebody on their shipping dock signed for the return, I got the refund for the unit on Jan 22. I called and talked with both customer service and their sales department and BOTH of the people I spoke with agreed I was due a refund for the shipping (the lady in sales said she would 'push' the refund through). Well knowing how slow they moved I waited and checked this week, still no refund. Back to opening trouble tickets, emails and calling. Today I received a call from the 'supposed' boss telling me their policy is to NOT refund ANYTHING. He would not give me the name of his supervisor.

If anybody is interested I have all the emails backing this up.

BEWARE do NOT deal with Lorex Technology as they will NOT take responsibility for something that is their fault.

Again, let me warn you, BEWARE!

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any difficulty you experienced and we're happy to have resolved this for you.

Finally I got my cameras up and running. The quick guide was very helpful. I grab the system when Lorex was having the cyber Monday sale. They were going for $299.99, and I must say this was the best gift ever. One of the features that I like the most is the motion detection. You can allow the camera to record only if there is movement or not. From something as light as a leaf to actual body movement. You can adjust the sensitively level and determine in the picture what area should be sensitive. The Flir Cloud app that comes with this is awesome to. It can send you notifications on your mobile device when activities occur. I can go on and on about this product, but I'm not, just check it out for yourself you'll love it.

I have not fully installed this system yet. However, I have purchased four Lorax video systems in the past and they all are working well. On my newest system, I got it at such a great price on Cyber Monday that I am using it as a back up system for my first system, purchased three years ago. When fully installed, I expected my newest one to work great. If not, their customer service has been great in the past.

Excellent system. Works great so far. I purchased the LHD88 system after black Friday and "stole it" for $299.00.
Picture is good for 720p. I have 7 of the 8 installed.
I don't have it set up to go over the internet yet.
Not sure if I want/need to at this point.
Playback is a breeze.
When in playback mode, cameras with motion detected are shown in the bottom graph as yellow, so you can pinpoint the time to review instead of going through the whole nights recording. The only downfall is, if they are mounted outside, rain and snow falling show as motion. You can also FF through it. I review the overnight footage in about 10-20 minutes.
Be aware when you mount the cameras, that if they are pointed near a road, passing cars show as motion in playback.
You can only review 1 or 4 cameras at a time.
Cameras are all black (not like the ones pictured).
Cables are black also. My house is white, so the cables do show a bit. The coax is only 60ft long, so I had an issue with 2 being too short. Not a problem, I ordered 2 more 60ft coax and 2 connectors and attached them together and I was in business.
The night vision is good also, but picture is in black and white until its light out enough for the cameras to switch off the night vision and back to color. I haven't tried to get an image from the recorded footage yet, in case I need to send footage to the local authorities for identification.
That's next.
Camera connections are a bit tricky to the DVR, but not impossible because they are close together. Label your camera ends before hook up and you will be good to go.
I installed 7 cameras and ran the coax on the outside of the house in an afternoon. A little longer to run inside house.

Plan your installation. I don't need mine hooked up to the internet, so to review footage requires you to,
1. buy a TV to hook up to the DVR (HDMI cable also)
2. be next to the DVR and use the included mouse
3. don't leave the DVR out in the open. All a thief has to do is take your DVR and the evidence is gone. I mounted mine in the basement.
Great system for the money.

Don't buy this system. It is poor quality, the 720p system is an obsolete product and Lorex won't stand behind it if it stops working in a year. Lorex is clearing this system out because they no longer make the 720p but it could be broken and worthless in 13 months.

My 720p DVR mother board died shortly after the 1 year warranty expired and Lorex' best offer is to sell me an obsolete replacement DVR for $150. They are selling the whole system for $399 so the DVR could not be worth more than $50 by itself. The mother board probably cost them $10. So Lorex is willing to trash their reputation over the cost of a $10 replacement part.

I bought this 720p system at Costco a little over a year ago and I was very satisfied with the quality of video and the ease of using the FLIR cloud connection from my cell phone and HP Tablet when traveling. My only complaint was that one outside camera always faded in and out at night. I always tuned into my system every day when I was out of town. When I was on vacation last month (Oct 2015) one day I could not connect to my system and could no longer connect remotely. When I got home I could not get any images or responses on my direct monitor. I tried several options before I called the Costco Tech Help line. After several tests the COSTCO tech determined that my DVR mother board was defective. I called the Lorex Tech Help line and after all the appropriate tests he also diagnosed a defective mother board. I called Lorex Customer Service and was told that my system was no longer under the 1 yr warranty. I would have to buy a new DVR for $350. They finally agreed to give me an Advance Replacement DVR for free but I had to do that through the Advance Replacement dept and I would have to give them a $150 security deposit which would be refunded to me after I returned the defective DVR. The Tech and Customer Service people were all very prompt, professional, knowledgible and friendly. I had no complaints except my system was useless a little more than a year after installing it. Then I tried to deal with the Advance Return Dept. Lorex's reputation went down the tubes with this dept. They are almost impossible to get through to by phone. The one time I was finally able to talk with some one they insisted that I would have to give them a $300 deposit and they would only refund $150 after I returned the defective DVR. They told me I had to send them a copy of my purchase receipt so I did that the same day. I could never get through to them by phone or e-mail after that and have not heard from them since. So now I have a useless, non-working security system that I paid $500 for a little over a year ago. Costco will give me a full refund but I need to take down all of the installed cameras and pull out all of the wires that I installed through my walls, attic and crawl space inorder to return the full system. All because Lorex sold a low quality product that they won't stand behind for more than 365 days.
Don't buy this system. It can die in less than 2 years and you will have nothing but a lot of wires and obsolete cameras.

Thank you for your feedback. Our technical support and customer service teams were happy to assist you with a resolution. Should you require further assistance, please don't hesitate to call us at 1-888-425-6739.

We were averaging approx. $200 a month in theft in our store. As we knew we had to invest in security cameras. After looking around for a couple weeks at all the options we finally pulled the trigger on this system. Installation was a breeze really easy to setup and configure. It only took us two days to catch our first shoplifter. Over a year now and our monthly theft is down to less than $40. The system has more than paid for itself. We only have one issue and that was we came into the store one morning and the DVR box was dead. Filed a warranty with Lorex and shipped back the dead box and they shipped a replacement within a couple days. Back up and running. We would recommend this system for any small business.

I looked at camera systems for a while. I finally decided on this system as Costco. It was listed at a great price and I also had a $200 gift card. So I got the camera system at a steal. So far I've put up 6 of the 8 cameras. Running the wires in the attic was the hardest part. It took me about 4 hours. After that everything was easy. Everything plugged right in. It was a little difficult to connect the BNC connectors to the back of the DVR. They aren't spaced very far apart. Using the DVR is easy. Once you go through and familiarize yourself with it, you'll get the hang of it in no time. I'm still setting up the motion detection. I'm trying to aleaviate some of the false positive emails I've been getting. But that's just trial and error. The FILR app works great for me. It works at home and while I'm away from home. I also set up the DDNS from Lorex so I can have the cameras up on one of my computer monitors at work. You do have to be somewhat tech savy to set that up. You need to know how to go into your router and forward/open the correct ports. I had all that done in about 5 minutes. Once I get some extra tools (pulling sticks) I will be mounting my other two cameras. All in all this is a great little system that did exactly what I needed. The images look great and I'm able to keep an eye out on my house when I'm away. If you are looking for a good system that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I highly recommend this system.

I had been thinking of purchasing a security camera for a while and finally, when the sale at Costco was offered I purchased the LHD 88, 8 channel 8 cameras with 2 TB DVR. I'm very pleased with the quality of the video and had been showing it to my friends and they were amazed of the quality, 1080P. Easy to install. It took me a while to run the wires at the attic but it was worth it. With the FLIR apps I can watched it anywhere, on my smartphone. I can watch the monitor at night in complete darkness.

We purchased the Lorex LVH210800 system with 8 cameras at Costco. Saved $100 over the same Lorex System with 4 cameras at Home Depot. Installation was very easy and system works perfectly after set-up. The HD quality on these cameras is exceptional. Integrating my home computer and cell phone to see what the cameras see was simple to do. The Costco sales person said the system came with eight 100' cables, however the cables are actually only 50'long which limited installation on the far side of our home. We did a lot of research and are very pleased with this Lorex Security Camera System. It's nice to see any company produce a high quality product for a reasonable price in today's world. Thank You !

We've only had this system up and running for a few weeks now, but overall, it's pretty descent. To install all the wiring correctly was a pain (I wanted it done neatly, like I'm sure you would too). Keep in mind that these cams on come with 60' of wiring for each cam, so if you need longer wires than that, you'll have to pay and have them shipped to you, or you could easily go to your local Best Buy store and get them quickly and much cheaper. Be careful when placing the wiring because if they get tangled at all, wrapped up, or anything other than straight lines, it can and DID cause me problems with fuzzy video and loud auditory noise. Also, if you're thinking of paying someone else to install this for you, good luck finding someone. It'll cost more to install than the system cost you (To do it right) I'm still trying to get the hang of created "Events" which will send me notifications, and adding other users has not been easy. Tech support was USELESS in helping me with issues so far. Don't waste your time on tech support, like I did. :-( Other than that, it is working. The video doesn't look bad. The night vision does work, but pretty much only in a straight line of view. (FLIR = Forward Line IR) << I see why it's called that now. Not everything you can see in daylight will be visible at night, unless it's in a direct line with the cam. Software initial installation was easy. Connected first phone was a breeze. After that it can get difficult. To install FLIR, you better know how to get to your MAC address (Easy to do. If you don't know how, search You Tube for this info) Along with our great ADT/BRINKS home alarm system, also protected by the 2nd amendment ... My wife and I feel pretty safe from would-be robbers or thieves. Put a sign in your yard too to ward off criminals, it WILL make them think twice and avoid your house or business. You can get cheaper signs online, at Lowes, and at Menards. I hope my review helps you !! MR C !! Overall descent cam system for the money it cost. Plan on doing all wiring and installation yourself, or PAY out the nose, if you can even find someone to do it right. (Make sure you create a contract with them to install it correctly too)

Terrible product. IF this goes out of support you will never be able to reset your password and then the system is useless. While this is in support you MUST call tech support to reset your lost password. They must generate a new temporary password for you or any thief to get into a system.... The cables are custom and TOO short. This forces you to waste more money for other longer low quality cables... I am returning this to the store

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry this product did not meet your expectations.

I had a system before this system and it went bad. So I started my research into a new system and this company came upon my screen LOREX. I never heard of LOREX before, so I checked it out and the clarity of the video was so clear. I played a video clip of the night vision with the fireworks and from that video I was sold. I bought this system in April of this year and have been loving it ever since. Thank you LOREX for making a great product.

I bought these cameras and DVR for my first business, I hired a profesional installer because of the height of the ceiling and his first impression was that this system was of great quality (That made me happy with my choice). But when I started using the system I realized it was much better. I love the quality of the image, the search option, that you can choose to record only when motion is detected, the flir App to check on my store, the night vision, the push alarms. The only thing that I haven't been able to get right is the DDNS connection to be able to view my cameras from any internet browser. I would definitely buy another Lorex system for my Home or other future store.

This is a good system, and the cameras are good quality. There are a lot of options to customize if you choose to do so. I would have liked a DVR that had a HDD mirroring capability and I have found it hard to dial in the motion detection settings, it seems to detect a change in sunlight as motion. Other than that the system is worth getting.

It's a very good camera system overall. The picture quality is excellent and it is easy to use. The only issues I've had are sometimes cameras lose signal (this might be due to a defective cable) and my hard drive died within 1 year. They are sending me a replacement. The process was a little annoying. I had to deal with Costco concierge who was rude and then Lorex who was also kind of rude. I had to provide a receipt which could have easily been vouched for by the Costco concierge.

I bought the LHD88 series. 2 TB hard drive with 8 720p HD cameras. This is my second system purchased from Lorex. I upgraded from my 8 camera 960H system. I love the new HD cameras. Big improvement in picture. My installation was super easy because I was able to use my old wiring that went to my old SD cameras. I did have to upgrade the software for my iPhone and PC to the new FLIR software. That was simple enough but I did need help from Customer Service to get the PC part to work correctly. Customer Service was great with no issues to report. I have had my new HD system up and running for a couple of weeks now. I love it. I would recommend this HD system to everyone. I bought this from Costco and the price just can not be beat for the quality of this product.

Cam system and DVR set up simply, however beware of weak website navigation trying to download Flir; 1."Download tabs" (link) leads to "product info" and you must find the "Download tab" again. Click it and this leads to PDF documents at top (must scroll down to FLIR). Download means download on all web constructed sites. 2. Link to how-to-videos leads to a chart with no videos at all. This is like how governments build web-sites not tech people. If they could get the ABC's right I'd offer up a better review. This kind of lack of attention to details degrades the value of my purchase in my opinion.

I have tested a number of multiple camera security systems. This is the Second Lorex system Ive purchased (16 channel 12 camera 2TB 1080p) because i was so pleased with the first one( 8 channel 8 camera 1TB 720p) which i still have and use at a different location). I am most pleased by the ease versatility of remote viewing. The Flir Cloud Client for Android works like a charm with the Free Lorex DDNS service, the Flir Cloud Client for the PC allows for ease of use and control of the DVR head unit while at home. The quality of the image, the ability to control resolution, everything about these units work just like the should. I have had some questions about issue presented because of my ISP blocking ports and prevent viewing, but the phone SUPPORT i received fixed the issue by walking me through port forwarding my router. Support is always able to answer any question or help me work though any issue i am having ( which is usually self created). you will not be disappointed with Lorex products !

I bought this 12-camera system to upgrade an older 8-camera system from a different manufacturer. The resolution on the Lorex system is much better than my old system and the FLIR Cloud PC software has better functionality. I have had two occasions to contact technical support and on both occasions my issues were fixed promptly. So far, overall I am very pleased.

I purchased this security system approximately 6 months ago which was a recommendation from a friend. I was having trouble with my neighbors harassing me and my family. The day after I installed it the harassment stopped. They were easy to install. The picture is clear and the night vision is fantastic. It is easy to use. I would buy another one if I ever needed it. They are a great value for the money.

This system is pretty awesome. We acquired it on sale and it has been worth every penny. Basically, everything about this system is "plug and play" ready. SETUP: 5 out of 5 It was really easy to get all the cameras functioning and connected to the DVR. Honestly, we just set them up, wired them, and plugged them in. Then we were ready to go. FIELD OF VISION: 5 out of 5 We have a 30,000 square foot warehouse and these 8 cameras are able to cover as much of it as we want. One camera covers an area the size of a house, so long as it's at the right height. DETAIL: 5 out of 5 The 720p quality is good enough for facial recognition, even if the cameras are 15 feet off the ground. We can easily tell the make/model of cars passing on the street and read truck logos if we need it. PLAYBACK: 5 out of 5 It's really easy to go back through and playback what you're looking for. USER INTERFACE: 3 out of 5 The UI works, but it definitely isn't 100% user friendly. My grandma would have a hard time understanding it, but any person who is remotely competent with computers can make it work. Part of the problem is that there's no keyboard (or mouse) that comes with the device, so if you have your DVR in a secure location, separate from your monitor (which you should) you need a long range mouse to reach the DVR. Another part of the problem is that the UI isn't customizable so you can put the options you use close together. It would also be nice to customize the 1-4, 5-8, 4 camera views. REMOTE CONNECTION: 4 out of 5 EDIT: 5 out of 5 The only reason this isn't 5 out of 5 is because when I was setting the remote WAN (wide area network) connection up, I didn't immediately find out that this DVR system used the FLIR Cloud app. The LHV1000 system uses the FLIR Cloud App to allow devices to connect to the DVR over WAN. Even a simple Google search... Okay, I did a quick Google search to see if I'm a dummy and I am. The FAQ for the LHV1000 HD DVR system mentions FLIR Cloud. So this is a 5 out of 5 because FLIR Cloud works very well and is really easy to set up. ADVANCED FEATURES: Unknown. There are some more features that I'm still exploring and as of this review, I don't know enough about them to rate them in any way. So far, though, this product was a great value and does everything we want it to do.

We appreciate your detailed feedback. Great to hear you are satisfied with the system!

Got this from Costco at a great price for the 720p and 2TB HD. The picture is great during the day and at night, it's ok. The IR doesn't go great on the outside of you have it mounted high on a two story house. I plan on buying more floyd lights to supplement for that. The flir app good use some upgrading to remember your product so you don't have to select it every time you log in. Besides that, pretty nice and I would recommend. I don't know about their customer service yet, I hired done local professionals for the install.

Cameras are very clear and low profile. After installing the cameras all around my home, they are barely noticeable and provide great coverage. Installation was also easy as the camera shape allows for direct installation or running a cable down a soffit or ledge for discrete installation. The DVR setup was a little difficult, but the motion sensing capabilities and customizations are really nice. Lorex has extended cables available for purchase if you need to install the cameras at a greater distance than the stock cables, but with a 6000 square foot house, all of mine fit with the normal cables. Good cameras and features with easy install, and not too difficult setup. Overall good product, would recommend.

I got this system from Costco. The configuration was straight forward. Ended up using google smtp server for email alert. Initially, I had to hook up a monitor to the DVR because when I booted it for the first time, it prompted for firmware upgrade. After the upgrade, I can take the monitor off and configure the DVR through my PC using Flir Cloud Client. Downloaded the Flir Apps to our Ipads and iphones - everything works correctly. The picture quality is very good. I am still learning about all the advanced features of the system.

I was impressed with this DVR and its firmware/software control. Far superior than my old Q-SEE system. My only issue is that I have requested technical support twice now with no response other than someone will be contacting me. My issue was that the flir shortcut (APP) demands my windows 7 admin to run each time its executed. It should not ask this each time. A standard account on my pc should be able to run it. We are now going on DAY 10. Still no answer. I have contacted Costco to return my system. I will be boxing it up today for return. Five stars it would have but the support is incredibly none existent. This is not acceptable!

I do not regret this purchase at all. Although the cameras are plastic and not aluminum (my dad's q-see cameras are aluminum and seem a bit more durable), you cant really beat the price that i got it for. The cables are a bit short, my house is not that big and i am having trouble reaching the cameras from one end of the house to the DVR which is in the middle of my house. Other than that, I am quite satisfied with my purchase.

The installation instructions and process was clearly explained and went along without a hitch, although at 66 years old, my knees took a beating while crawling around my attic for a couple of days running the wiring. Other than that it was a snap and very straightforward. Video quality is excellent on all 8 cameras, day or night and review/playback is easy too...Just like any other program, the more you use it the easier it becomes. Neighbor saw the system & quality and went out and purchased one for himself too. Review on my Samsung Galaxy tablet is clear too and very easy to work. Would definitely recommend this system to any potential purchaser.

Bought the system at Costco June 2014. It is overwhelming when you first open the box with all the cables, cameras, etc., but installation was fairly easy and mostly plug and play. There is a lot to learn about the capabilities of the system in terms of settings, recording, etc. Also, if something is beeping or alarming it's usually a setting that needs to be adjusted. It just may take a bit to figure out what it is. Customer service is extremely helpful so would definitely call when assistance is needed. You may need some patience in the beginning but once it is all set up you will be pleasantly surprised with the picture clarity both day and night and the system as a whole.

Purchased it at Costco. The fishing of the cables was a big pain, but nothing to do with Lorex. Had to call support to find out how to silence the buzzer since I did not connect the Network for a few days, but excellent service (in french). The physical installation is completed and I see all the cameras on my main monitor but I tried lots of things but still cannot access the system through the Flir Cloud Client. Will have to call back ... Very clear images and the system seems to work as stated.

Bought this from Costco for our home. The entire system was very easy to set up. Cameras are very clear during the day and the night scenes are much better than I expected. Remote viewing was a must for me and this system handles it flawlessly. We easily connected four PC's, two android phones, and one android tablet. I've read where people have been frustrated over the motion settings but after I set up my motion regions the system ignores those areas. Video playback was perfect for about 2 weeks then the hard drive failed, which is the reason for only 3 stars. I have a ticket in with Lorex and will update the review and rating once it is resolved.

I am very pleased with the quality of the video, particularly during the day. The night vision when it changes to black and white is not that great. The customer service and tech support have been very helpful and supportive. I have owned my system for less than a year. I had to upgrade the firmware to 0035 or something like that. The Flir Cloud requires a good internet connection to have mobile access to your cameras. I would recommend Lorex.

This is a neat system that has a decent price tag and 720p HD camera's. We use this for a commercial application and we require several camera's to be watched on multiple screens via a Chrome Web Browser windows in full screen mode. We have had a couple of issues recently where we have one or two of the screens start to flicker between different cameras, however we are hoping that there is a firmware upgrade that may take care of this small but annoying issue. The other issue we have encountered is the FLIR scan and connect.. if only it was that easy.. We have yet to be able to get it on our phones or tablet.. But again I am hoping this is an out of date firmware issue as it was plugged in and setup out of the box.. It would be nice if the Firmware could be downloaded directly instead of putting it on to a USB drive and having to update it manually.

I have been using this system for approximately seven months and like it a lot. It was easy to setup and even easier to use. The menus are simple to navigate compared to several others I have used and the image quality is superb. My only concern is reliability. Two cameras have given me trouble. One is blurry and the other does not record for several hours a day. Thanks to customer support they are sending replacement cameras, but time will tell.

I've had this system for 4 months now , it works great. no real complaints but be careful when tighting screws for camera heads , they are only made of plastic. I cracked one installing it when I first got the system , still works fine. also sometimes you have a ip conflict which i just restart the system. I do like how well it works at night and during the daytime. I am moving my cameras today (just 2 cameras) and needed info from lorex and did not see my earlier review so I posted this one. I can only say it's been working fine. lar

I purchased the system from Costco. Getting the system to work only on the dvr and monitor was a piece of cake. I am fairly competent with technology, but this system was extremely difficult to get work over the network. I probably have 10 hours and 3 phone calls into tech support to get the system to work on my network and on my ipad. I am still having issues with viewing recorded data on my ipad and getting the dvr to send emails. Much of this could have been solved with better instructions and help guides.

Great quality of hardware and features, except for remote access DDNS (not talking about having access while at home using your wi-fi). Instructions on how to set it up are not for regular people. You have to have some computer/network knowledge to get it to work. Lorex Auto Port Forwarding is of great help. Download it! Once set-up, FlirCloud will offer you a lot of features that will take some time to experiment with. Overall not for novice people without patience and/or time.

Not sure if I'm that tech savvy or if this was that easy to setup, I had it up & running in no time. I'm amazed with the number of features and settings I am able to control! Lots of great options I didn't expect and makes me glad I chose Lorex. I'm impressed with the 4 motion detection zones per camera to minimize false detection. However I never dreamed I would be seeing so many bugs setting off motion detection! The IR night lighting makes them glow bright white, I have not found out how to ignore them yet. If I did not mount in out of the way corners, I wouldn't have been in the bugs playground! Overall image quality is incredible, way beyond what I expected! Mount to a ceiling if possible, the cameras I mounted to walls are impossible to position so walls are out of view. At night the IR lights up the nearby walls bright enough to dim objects in the distance at night. All of my ceiling mounted cameras have excellent distance at night since there's nothing close that is brightly lit. My suggestion to Lorex is to allow each MD zone to have it's own time period since sunrise causes moving shadows in one zone and sunset causes moving shadows in another zone with outdoor mountings. There is a period just after sunrise and just before sunset when cameras switch on or off night vision that sets off motion detection, a bit of hassle with push notifications to a smartphone. Since sunrise/sunset changes, it's hard to set a minimal time period to ignore the change-over. With good mounting locations, these camera systems are way better than old security systems!

First time with security camera system. The hardware and cameras seem great for the price. The finicky part is the software and remote setup/access via FLIR cloud. The Flir cloud client is somewhat finicky, though we finally got it to work. It is really nice to be able to access the cameras remotely without having to open ports on the firewall. I have yet to get motion detection to work correctly so that it only records on movement. I have read the documentation and configured it, but it seems to not respect the settings. It continues to detect movement, even though I have configured it to ignore the portion of the view where highway traffic passes by all day and night. I admittedly have a lot to learn with this system. There are a LOT of options and settings to work through. The documentation is decent, but with some discrepancies as often times it seems to be written for a different product. Overall, happy with the product for the price. Custom support is decently responsive, with replies coming in 2-4 days after entering a new ticket.

A very solid 4 of 5 rating. A 5 of 5 is hard for me to give to any solution. Let me start by saying/typing -- "You get what you pay for".. 8 cameras, HD system with IP connectivity, support on PC/Mac/Mobile. Works!! Do your homework online before you make your choice for a *home* based system as per your requirements., Would be nice to have longer cables (see note below about planning). Plan to download the manual and any firrmware/software. Plan your installation, from where cameras will go, how cables will run (length of cable runs needed), to where the DVR will ultimately be installed. The software client (and yes, there is a web interface too, only for MS IE), is a bit "interesting" from a GUI (Graphical User Interface) perspective -- not totally intuitive. However, very serviceable once you move around within the interface. I did not need to use technical support, granted my profession is in the IT world. I can see how some people might have a difficult time with the network setup, but don't blame this product -- consider getting some basic networking 101 skills on IP routing, port forwarding, etc. or get someone that does know IP configurations for your particular hardware (I have an ASUS router). I even configured this solution to connect to an AP (access point) that is configured to be a point to point IP device for the DVR -- allowed me to connect the DVR wirelessly (Ethernet port of DVR connected into the AP, securely connected back to my network. I did this because the location of where I installed the DVR does not have a wired Cat 5 Ethernet connectivity). Installed and worked with both the PC Windows and Apple Mavericks version of the software client and was able to install the mobile client on both an Android Samsung and iOS (Apple) and configure successfully. So, yes it does work behind a firewall, DDNS does work, mobile client works, night vision works fine, mobile client works fine -- NOTE: see note above about "you get what you pay for...", IMHO. Have not configured motion detect recording yet as I will wait for sprint/summer when all trees have leaves as I am assuming wind and leaves/branches will impact settings. Overall, very decent solution for me and my family thus far.

Bought these cameras from Costco. Here's my feedback Pros: Cheap Functions very well in day light Comes with 1TB hard disk space. Cons: Software setup is super complex Cables length should have been atleast 90 feet. Motion sensors are a joke. It has an option to set zones but they don't work. Sub-streaming on mobile devices is horrible quality. Night vision is bad. DDNS doesn't work. Client software doesnt work behind a firewall. No proxy options available Client software cannot recognize DHCP changes.

The LHV1000 series has so far been a pleasure to use. The interface takes a little bit of getting used to , but after you get the hang of it, it works great. Picture quality is beautiful. Day or night, the resolution is just about perfect , a little grainy at times but nothing I wouldn't worry about , The zoom feature is awesome, it can read my license plate on my car to a readable zoom level at close to 100 ft from the house, day or night. The flir cloud interface works beautifully, I installed the app on my I phone and it took all of about 2 minutes to get up and running, It actually took longer to download the app than it did to link to it. You don't really need to be a tech savvy person in order to install the system, just be prepared to spend a little time on it is all. There is one con though, Not really a con but more of a caution, when you are ready to install, test all the cameras out before you install and all the individual cables, i made that mistake, tested all the cameras on one cable and went to install , got to camera 7 and discovered a faulty cable. not funny at all. My fault though , I can not comment on their customer service as of yet as I just submitted a warranty ticket an hour ago, but will update when i get feedback from customer support. Overall, fairly easy to install, great video, and a definitely an asset to any homeowner looking to protect his property as well as the business customers. You would be happy with this system, I am
