Not impressed. Wireless cameras say they have audio which is true BUT the DVR only has 1 audio plug so only 1 Camera can have audio. They forget to tell you that little piece of info until you call in and ask then they admit to it. Very misleading. DVR is VERY noisy. They sent me a new one due to the noise and it's still noisy. Not impressed. 1 of the bullet cameras died 2 days after we installed it 2 stories high. They did send a new one but I question the quality of these cameras after I have had to replace 2 of them within 6 months of installation.

When you call in for customer service they can handle the basic needs but if you have a problem and need to speak to management they do NOT return phone calls and they take 2 weeks to talk to the upper management for a decision since they cannot make a decision. Terrible customer service.

I will NEVER buy another Lorex camera and especially NOT from Lorex direct as they won't help you with their LOW QUALITY products from the dome cameras to the bullet cameras to the DVR’s.

We're sorry to hear about the experience you have had. Please reply to our email if you require further assistance. Thank you.

I bought the 960H Security System with Wired and Wireless Cameras.
The system arrived on time and work fine. It's easy to setup.
After 4 months the cooling fan is making noise and the unit was sent back for the replacement.
The techsupport is very good and friendly. They take care the issue right away.
Support is the reason I chose Lorex system over other lower cost systems.

First--Customer service was absolutely great. Had some issues with the discount and with connecting my iPhone. The reps I worked with were superb--everything resolved quickly.
Second--the cameras and DVR are working fine
Third--it was exceptionally hard to connect the iPhone--took a couple of hours to fix--but we got it done.

Will definitely recommend to my friends.

First be aware that the wireless cameras in this package are lower resolution than the wired cameras. They are only 480 pixels vs. 960 for the wired cameras.

After only being installed a week, the DVR started making an excessive amount of noise and will have to be returned.

Thank you for your feedback. Our apologies for the inconvenience with the DVR. We hope your replacement is working well. For each camera type, please see the product specifications under the Downloads tab.

I am impressed with the video quality both day and night on both wired and wireless cams. Installation was easy and the software is fairly intuitive. I am surprised how well motion is detected on 100 degree days. I like being able to monitor live and recorded video on a PC and iPad. I am disappointed that I can only view recorded video from 4 cams simultaneously remotely. Playback is slow on the iPad but it might be my 3rd gen model. My DVR has intermittent noise which sounds like a fan so I appreciate the long warranty period. I'll be adding more cams later.

This package ( 3 wireless , 3 wired cameras, a 2TB DVR) is a smart mixture allowing you to find a easy and feasible solution to protect your property or store. The wired cameras have a wider visual angle and both the wired and wireless are easy to instal and connect with the DVR. The images are good both day and night but be careful to take away powerful light sources in the surveillance area. The infrared LEDs are meant to see during night and the quality of the image can get worse if you have to much light in the area. Downloading the software, installing it and making the internet connection is easy as a breeze . Very pleased with the whole system and concept. To see your home on the web from distant locations is a plus.
And finally do not forget that a good functionality of the whole system is depending on a good internet connection and some of the drawbacks can be caused by just this feature.

Our vfw post 3575 purchased your lw-16572 system with 4 wireless and 8 hard wired cameras. The installation was very easy with the hard wired cameras we haven't installed the wireless cameras yet waiting for warmer weather.

I can't wait to connect from my home on my computer.

I really really like the night vision on the cameras it looks like it day time on the monitor.

I would recommend this system to anyone

Works good.
installation of the dvr close to the internet source is critical.

Installation is straight-forward. The 4 wireless cameras are great to put in hard-to-wire locations. Picture quality is much better than expected. Our previous system ran on a PC, it bit the dust but all or our existing analog cameras plugged right in to the Lorex dvr and worked perfectly.
The remote interface for the iPad is pretty good, except the remote playback runs at the same slow speed even when it says x16 speed; can't get it to speed up. The remote actually works better on the iPad than it does on our iMac, on the iMac I can;t get more than 7 cameras to display at the same time.

Excellent product with good resolution. Having difficulty getting on to the system on the web as the link appear out of date. However, everyone else herein says the support is good so will probably be able to resolve easily in near future.

Great product at a great price. Had a problem with a wireless camera adapter plug that failed after 2 months but they send me a replacement fast and no charge. Easy to use, but getting set up to view online or on a mobile phone is a bit tricky but does work once you figure it all out. Lorex is the only place I buy my home and business security products from.

I have the Touch-LW16512. In fairness I have not got all the cameras set up yet. But I have plugged the cameras in and can give my opinion based on what I obsurved. All of the wireless are installed, these are great for the areas you need ears at. They are kind of choppy with the low refresh rate but good enough to see what you need. Kind of dissapointed that they would give you 4 mic cameras and a dvr with only 2 sound jacks that didn't make sense. The wired cameras have good resilution and frame rate and the high res cameras are really good for those areas of entrence. Over all I will give this system good to very good and the support very good to excelent. Other than the misstep with the number of mic cameras and sound jacks I am satisfied but will have to give a 4 star rating on the misstep.

I ordered the Touch LW16512 and it arrived Thursday. It has 10 cameras (4 wireless and 6 wired). I started testing the wireless camera and it worked great inside the house. I wondered how they will perform outside the house and away from the DVR. Installation was so easy. The hardest part was deciding where to install the cameras and screwing the hardware into the wall (I'm glad my husband helped with it). Setting up the DVR and connecting all cameras to the DVR was a breeze. I love the four wireless. I have all four installed outside my house; one at the porch facing the street, one at the side yard pointing at the left gate, another one at the other side of the house pointing at the right gate, and the last one at the backyard just above the back door entrance. I was afraid that the wireless would not work once all windows and doors are closed, but signal from all four wireless cameras remained strong. They have not lost connection. I installed the 6 wired cameras inside the house. Before installing the 6 wired camera, I thought I bought too many, but after installing them, the six cameras inside the house are just the perfect number for a 4 bedroom house. This is a great surveilance/security system and I would recommend it to anybody.

Great product and Price and works great. Spent a lot of time researching on the internet and this was the best deal for the money. Had to call tech support for one minor set up problem with internet explorer and they were great help. Just had to wait a few minutes before they answered the phone.

We bought this system to help monitor our children when they are not in ear shot from us, we have a fairly good size home and it makes it had to monitor child that are special in one way or another. They are very creative at finding ways to get things and do things they really should not be doing and is unsafe. So, we decide to check out a DVR system. We love the part that we can login and check on our child when they are returning home from school.

I have a few friend that are thinking about making the investment for the safety of all.

Thank You

Worked Right Out Of The Box - Great Product

"I had never purchased or used a security system before, so I was concerned about how complex they might be to install and setup. I took the Lorex out of the box and plugged in all the connectors, and IT WORKED. I played with the system for a few days learning how to set it up for motion only recording, and all the other options. The operating system is surprisingly simple and easy to understand. I installed the system and had no issues other than figuring how to run the wires in some tight places. It's been running now for 30 days with no problems."

Lorex Edge 8CH DVR and 2110 Wireless cameras

"I have the Lorex 8 channel DVR which came with 4 wired cameras and I ordered 3 additional wireless cameras. Mounting the cameras and setup of the DVR was relatively simple, but does require some patience to work through the instructions to set up the DVR to view over Iphone and internet. I made 2 calls to Lorex during the installation and receive return calls where they were easliy able to help me set up my system. The system now works great. I can view my property from any computer/internet connection and from my Iphone with the free Lorex app. I'm very pleased with the purchase and have recommended the system to my friends."

recommend system

"performs well and was not hard to install and basic units and program it. I had to call tech support to get my Iphone and Ipad app to work, but they were very helpful and it was a matter of minutes before the two were up and running. This is a very good home unit that I upgraded to from a lower grade unit I bought at a local store. I love the iphone app!! You can find cheaper untis but the color and picture are great. The only thing I wished was in the package would be a camera or two that had audio. I ended up buying an additional camera that had this feature."

Some good some bad.

"I have had the Lorex 8 camera dvr with seperate monitor system for a few months now. The system works really well exept when monitoring cameras from a remote location. The software's not very user friendly. It's to difficult to navigate and view footage from remote locations. This is the second system I've owned and preferred the desktop software that Lorex uses to archive and view dvr footage. The new system uses only a web page to log in and then the customer has limited controls for viewing and backup. I would give it a 5 star rating if there was desktop software available for remote viewing."

Reliable, Reliable, Reliable.

"Purchased this unit to replace a 4-camera Lorex system to get better coverage and picture resolution. When unit arrived the DVR malfunctioned and was replaced by Lorex after two days working by phone with tech support (used phone because first email was unanswered for a week).

In 11 months of full-time use, there have been no problems with the cameras or the DVR. Resolution is very good both day and night. Set-up was simple, but the back of the DVR is so crowded that it's very difficult to manage the eight BNC connections. That's the price you have to pay for such a compact unit.

Fairly easy to backup the DVR (copy video segments) with a USB memory device, but the format is .MOV which I have to convert to .WAV or .AVI.

Cannot comment on touch screen, internet connectivity, or remote operation. I operate it only with the mouse because I don't feel the need to use the touch screen o the remote control.

For me, the strongest feature is the reliability of the unit. It replaced another Lorex product which was also 100% dependable. I would give this product a very positive recommendation based on reliability alone, but I am also pleased with all of the other features which I use."

"Cameras are too week. During the day the picture quality is so so. During the night it is a guess work.

The DVR has many good functionalities. Local and internet access is very good. Motion detection sometimes produces corrupted pictures. Currently the DVR, for Internet access, does not work with Motorola Atrix. Lorex support is very good but the wait time is too long.

"Pro's: Full 30fps all channels, smart phone viewing, adjustable motion sensing and many other great features.

Cons: No control discription when you hover over a button, thats would be very helpful as sometimes dont know what a button does until you click it. No full screen mode on internet viewing. Also, recording look-up is very cumbersome and definitally needs to be streamlined.

This is the best system I could find, and with a little tweeking , nothing else would come close.

its very convinient to use

"I purchased two different Lorex security camera systems for two of my offices. I liked this system because I can see the office through my Iphone day and night. One night right after Valentines'day I got a call from security alarm company saying the security alarm was triggered. If they should call the Police. I was able to see through my I phone that office. It turns out the alarm system went off triggered by the balloons the girls received from their valentines....."

good so far, but..

"good so far, but definitely not an easy project. if you can not hook up your tv or vcr or stereo or computer and do the basic set up on them, you will have some problems. not hard but you need to be a little tech friendly to get this going. directions are ok, not great. have not called tech support yet but need to, to figure out how to (port forward modem/router) to view over internet. can view on my computer over local network connection, but not yet from log in from another computer off site. for the price it seems pretty good. have only had for 1 month so can not comment yet on durability."

Pros: price / works with mac/apple

Cons: plan on an all weekend install or 2...

Edge 300 series with full Mac compatibility

"I was originally interested in Lorex systems because they are the only company that makes a Mac compatible DVR. It is truly Mac friendly and works wonderfully, with local access and remote access using Safari. But also as a general surveillance system, I can't imagine it working more smoothly.

Fully Mac compatible.

Even as a non-tech person, the set up was relatively easy.

The night-time resolution of the daytime/night time camera is excellent, wired and wireless.

iPhone app works perfectly as long as you are WiFi connected. (understandably the 3G speed is too slow to allow real viewing)

Customer service is excellent and the higher executives really care about their products and customer satisfaction. Personal follow up was a pleasant surprise!

Tech support is either excellent or incompetent depending on who answers the phone

The cameras work really well, but if your goal is their lack of visibility, there are certain situations where this is impossible, especially at night with the IR light. The solution can be found elsewhere, but it would be great if Lorex provided more camera style choices."

lorex 8 channel

"Nice camera system, simple camera set up, however the ability to set up the mobile monitor piece leaves much to be desired. Not only is the download for a droid phone a process, but the instructions are less than user friendly."

Pros: easy use of touch screen monitorclear daytime viewing

Cons: short distance night visionpoor customer servicecomplicated phone setup

Excelent price and quality

"Researched various DVR's and found the Lorex Link to have all necessary features for surveillance and monitoring that others did not offer.

Price was extremely competitive compared to other brands offering the same or less in quality and/ or features.

Cameras however are low resolution, but for certain conditions, do the job excellently. For more detailed display, higher resolution cameras can be purchased separately.

I highly recommend this product."

Great remote video viewed on any device!

"I purchased this product specifically because I was looking for a means to monitor my home on my BlackBerry 8320 Curve. This product meets my needs and more. For starters, the set-up was easy and straight-forward. No trouble at all. After testing my setup, I registered with the free Lorex DDNS service and found remote viewing and control to be easy and effortless. Whether using my laptop, desktop or BlackBerry, the system is a breeze to monitor and control. The included client software makes the remote setup very easy. Since the DVR is a server, for those of you who are network geeks out there, you can access it directly through a firewall with no client software needed if you know how to set it up.....yes, all the info is in the manual.

This system is an upgrade for me. My old security cameras were X10-based and used separate motion sensors. With the Lorex, the motion detection is built into each camera. Genius! The video quality is very, very good and works day (color) and night (B&W with infra-red LEDs in each cam). The setup also has 8 external alarm inputs so that you can wire up a door or window contact to elicit an email message upon triggering. Emails can be sent to as many as 5 addresses.

I highly recommend this product.

Good buy!

"I purchased the LH 400 Link Series a couple month ago. I found the instalation to be straight forward and simple. The set up of the DVR for the network and IPhone was a little more challenging. The instructions that Lorex supplied was extreamly helpful in my sucessful setup. Great product! I expect this product to last many years to help protect my house."
