I Forgot my DVR's password and needed tech support's help to reset it since that is the only way you can do it I have been trying for three days and no lock to get a call back as the phone system promises a call back in thirty minuets due to high call volume ,so today I opted to hold and was on hold for one hour and fifty three minutes and no lock ! I am a small business owner and have been using the system in three of my business locations but never had to deal with lorex' customer service before ,but afte this experience we defnatly have to consider another alternative . So if you think you might need Customer support at any time after buying a Lorex syste please save your money and consider other systems.

Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We have attempted to reach you and await your reply. Thank you.

The cameras were fine but dont call and ask for help. Expect hold times of at least 30 minutes. Their "we'll call you when its your turn" also didn't work. It took several days, multiple calls and seemingly endless times on hold for simple answers

Our apologies, we are currently experiencing longer than usual wait times. We were happy to assist you.

The camera system is easy to install and set up. The picture quality is great.
Ordering is completely different. If you try to order addition cameras this puts some sales representative in a dilemma because you are wanting to do something that is above the normal purchase. If you call close to close of business you can expect to be hung up on. Long waits for a callback are to be expected, if you get one it will be the next day.
Calling Tech Support is the same as calling sales.
The worst thing of all is that the majority of personnel I had the displeasure of talking to did not have a good grasp of the English language, I had to continually ask the representative to repeat themselves.

Great low end system. Installed almost a year and have had no issues. I wish i would have paid more and gotten a better system as far as being able to pan and tilt. but over all a great system for the price.

We purchased the Lorex LW1684W Outdoor System. The installation of each camera has been exceptionally easy. After Installation the cameras came into view immediately after the system initialization. Each camera has its own power source which is a great feature. At the present we have eight hard wired camera and 4 wireless cameras. The signal strength for the wireless cameras is great and above what was expected. The Lorex system is very easy to use and is clear and concise. Also, I was concerned about the night picture not being good, but it is everything that the brochure said it would be. The program offers a lot of options and parameters, which we can to set to our own preferences. We are very happy and satisfied with the product we purchased and will not hesitate to recommend this product.

Purchased 2 systems. 1. Dvr with 12 wired cameras. 2. Dvr with 6 wireless cameras.

1. 1- wired camera is non functional. No image. Swapped it out and the image comes through. Put the defective one back on to compare. When I move the wire going into the camera, image flickers on and off. Appears to be defective. I am wondering if these are returns or refurbished systems.

2. 1- wireless camera has the IR leds that litght up on the bottom 2/3 rds of the camera, none at the top 1/3. Four (4) wireless camera have halo effects (washout) obsuring nite vision. No lights are shining on or into the cameras.

3. Nite vision on all cameras is veeery disapointing, Not even in the ball park of the advertised distances and blurred. The wireless cameras have better night vision than the wired cameras.

I have yard lites in the front and back yard and coach lites on both sided of the garage. A pickup parked in the drive (less than15 feet from the nearest camera) is barely visable and highly grainy. Have tried it with lights on and lights off with similar results.

Day Vision is acceptable but not nearly as detailed and clear as the (960) shown on line.

In comparison, my existing system is a Uniden (model G955) (4 wireless camera system). When comparing the nite vision images from Lorex camera with the Uniden, the Uniden nite vision is far superior than any wired or wireless Lorex cameras. The Uniden has a advertized nite vision of 40 ft + . The Lorex wired camera advertied nite vision is 140ft and Lorex wireless cameras is 90ft.

Three support tickets have been open and all three closed by Lorex without contact from support except for an email stating that they were closing the ticket(s ).

Thank you for your feedback. Our apologies for the delay with your tickets. Our customer service team was happy to assist you.

The Lorex LW1684W is an excellent purchase. Initially, I did quite a bit of research and found that this system is perfect for my home application. The set up was straight forward and with very little effort it worked immediately upon start up. I really like the HD camera's that came with the system. They are clear and show excellent detail. The night time use of the cameras are equally impressive, even with hardly any available light. The large 3TB hard drive of the base unit should have more than ample space for retaining all future recordings. I am pretty tech savvy, so I hope I can manage to master all of the system's capabilities in due time. The FLIR Cloud App works beautifully too. Overall, in my opinion, for the money spent you can't get a better system anywhere.

These are Ok camera's, the night vision is Ok. They are nowhere near clear enough to read license plates or nothing like that, night or day time, day time is clearer than night vision, but still not that clear, the wireless one's really, really interfere with Wi-Fi signals in the house, to the point where my Laptop or cell phone's are incredibly and painfully slow. I got around this issue by getting a new dual band router ( 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz), then getting a Laptop that runs on the 5Ghz network rather than the 2.4Ghz. And most cell phone will detect 5Ghz Wi-Fi already, and you need a minimum of 1.5Mbs to view the cameras on your mobile device. Lorex was awesome about remotely taking over my computer and camera system and router in order to reconfigure everything so I could watch the camera's from my cell phone because my upload speed where I am was only .5Mbs.
If your running 2.4Ghz or if your Laptop is not brand new with 5Ghz capability, than these cameras will extremely slow down your Wi-Fi signal, extremely !! Turn the camera's off and the signal jumps up 5 fold , minimum. The wireless one's are mounted on the front of my attached garage, and its very difficult to get a clear signal, they go out every few minutes and say out of range, they suggest I get a signal booster/amplifier, but at $70 -$100 for each booster that's not an option over and above the almost $1000 I already paid for the system in the first place ! The wired camera's are better of course, more clear, but the issue and hassle off running the wires. This is a good system, just keep these issues in mind. Where you want to mount them, your Wi-Fi signal, and how far away you want to put the wireless camera's. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with these camera's now that I've got these Wi-Fi issues figured out, and after Lorex tech support reconfigured all my stuff so I can watch on my phone, I'd buy it again for sure, but if you want to be able to read license plates, you might want to go with the HD camera's. You can clearly see who people are and make out face's and stuff, just not license plate's with this system. I researched the heck out of these and other camera's before purchasing, I went with more camera's and no monitor, rather than a monitor and less camera's and just use my TV as my monitor. I just wish I knew these issues ahead of time, rather than figuring it out the hard and long way ! One more comment is that I read a lot of comments about Lorex crappy tech support and being on hold for ever, I had no issues what so ever, support was awesome and very friendly and no wait time on hold, but then again I'm Canadian and I was calling Canadian tech support !!! just saying

Works great for our use as a theft deterrent. Set it up so it tracks and displays motion on all the monitors in the store so the employees and customers know they are being watched and recorded. Picture quality is way better than I Expected. Not high definition by any means but its not just "black shirt, jeans" either. It is exactly what any small business owner would want to keep an eye on stuff when not on location.

I love the fact that there are so many cameras I can use. I would've loved some of the cables to be longer than 60' so I could cover more ground but the wireless cameras included are helping a lot. I also love I can see everything on my TV-set.

Don't be fooled by this website! when I requested the cameras, they took a lot of time to send them. Also, after a week they send me an email asking me for my credit information and my billing account.I need the cameras for my business surveillance, but I got disappointed because of the bad service. Please, don't buy your cameras in this website.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the delay with your order. You were contacted about billing as part our credit card verification process, which we use to help fight credit card fraud. Your order may have been flagged due to your billing and shipping address not matching (due to a recent move, for example).

I like the system and it's easy setup. I have installed 4 wireless cameras and it was super easy. BUT I have 8 wired cameras that came out of the boxes broke! The camera its self is loose in the housing. I opened a support ticket 3 days ago and still no response. Anyone can sell a product. Being there for support, troubleshooting and warranty claims are more important then the sale itself. I did my part with the purchase and paying for the purchase. I just want what I paid for!!!

We are happy we were able to resolve this for you and hope you are enjoying your system. If anyone experiences any similar issues, please do not hesitate to contact us at 1-888-425-6739.

I am very happy with the Lorex Security Camera system. I had someone install which was fairly easy to figure out all of the steps. I agree with the person who said they would have liked a hard copy of the manual. The PDF is okay but sometimes the computer is not on or power outage. I have been told by several people I conferred with that Lorex is one of the best systems. I like the amount of cameras with the package and you have helpful customer service. I would recommend this system to anyone wanting to get the best bang for the buck.

The system is easy to install the software is easy to navigate and user friendly. The IPAD and the MAC and the Windows versions of software are all different. Some you can change the setting and some you cannot. You should be able to adjust ANY settings on this system as long as you have the access. Unfortunately the software does not allow that. The manual has a lot to be desired. I believe the manual should explain all the settings and what they are to be used for so the common users can tweek the systems to optimum performance. I can see good with the wireless cameras at night in total blackness as we have had bad weather in the last few weeks. But the cabled cameras are extremely poor at night. During the day very clear. I would recommend the system. But before you do make sure you understand it before making the purchase.

The ease of installation wasn't overstated from Lorex. They provide very simple, easy to follow step by step installation instructions. Once installed the cameras provided clear pictures. The only issue I had was with one of the wireless cameras. I mounted it about 250 ft away and it would not pick up. I realized that the corner of a metal roof was in the line of site so I moved the camera about 10 ft over the clear the building and it worked fine. The phone app also works very well, easy install and set up. The software is also easy to navigate when setting up alarms and alarm areas. Overall I would highly recommend the system for the price. One recommendation would be to include one camera with a zoom feature. This would be nice for long distance shots such as a driveway.

This system is really quite nice. Technology pretty seamless and easy to set up. The DVR is far improved over an earlier system that I had used. The cameras are strong, great quality and easy to install. The wireless cameras really work quite well and overall I would give this system a A++ recommendation.

Purchased an L7-1212W system and am so far satisfied with it. It would be nice to have had a hard copy of the operator’s manual included with the shipment. This was a replacement for an older Lorex system.
I did not notice that the wireless cameras and receiver antennas were nine volt dc with different size connectors from the replaced wireless cameras and antennas, requiring me to purchase adapter connectors to match my already installed sixty foot extension wiring.
Nice product for the a reasonable price

I recently just purchased this security camera system. This system came with four wireless and four wired cameras. I was told that I could add up to two wireless cameras which I did. After spending most of the day hooking up the cameras the overall picture was good. The cameras are actually excellent if you have exceptional lighting. I should note that at night the black and white picture is ok at best which was expected.

I hooked up all the cameras and had to find a 6 foot electical strip to plug in all of these plug ins which is a pain. You have to seperate the attennas ir order to have crisp coverage. Keep in mind that you will have lots of wires that need to be plugged in and hiding them may be a challange. I am worried to see my electical bill after the first month of operation

Once I plugged in all 10 cameras my wireless coverage for my computer and Ipad went way down. I now have to unplug several cameras for time when I want to use my cameras. I called customer support (overall wait was just over an hour) I learned that the speed of my internet was not sufficient enough to cover all cameras. I wish I knew that before purchasing this!!

I have alot to read and learn. I am happy with the coverage and hope to learn more about what these cameras have to offer long term.

If I were to do this again, I would probably opt for a four camera system. The extra cameras are nice, but don't like the idea of unplugging cameras to run my wireless computer around my house.

Do your research and learn the pros and cons of ordering the system of your needs.

Overall, this product met our expectations. Based on this being an "HD" level camera we did expect the quality of the video to be a little higher. We are able to identify a person from 20 feet away or so, but unable to read a license plate at such distance. Once setup the system is easy to use and navigate. The app for iPhone / iPad works great... better on the iPad than iPhone. The reviews for this app were relatively low, but we have had no problems with them. The night vision of the camera is much better than expected.

Just purchased the L227541 combo system with 4 wired and 4 wireless cameras to protect our home. Travel a lot and wanted to be able to check on our home and family while on the go. The Stratus Connectivity allows me to view all cameras and check live and recorded video via iPhone app. Couldn't ask for a better combination package and wireless access. My neighbor installed a Lorex security system and has been very pleased, why I purchased mine. Ron

I bought this system for our 5 acre farm. I travel alot so its nice to check in on the animals from a far and also to help with security when and if something ever happens! We also use one of the wireless cameras to monitor our gate at our entrance. Love it and excited to add more cameras do more angles! I would rate it a five, but have had some connection issues, but all seem to be working great now!

I purchased this system for a property at another location based on another satisfied Lorex owner. I will have a wiring contractor install the hard wires into the property and use the wireless inside. The installation testing so far is good. I am pleased with the wireless cameras and system setup. My suggestions for improvement would be multiple email capability for alerts. Playback as a deliverable after recording is cumbersome so far. The DDNS option is very good. If the hard wired cameras can survive a bit of a harsh environment - I will be pleased.

The product is great- but what makes it better and is rather complicated, is the installation of the hardwired cameras - the results are spectacular! The wireless cameras are good but not as good. Although they have a microphone- I can only hear the buzzing of the birds and the howling of the wind. Overall, I spent a pretty penny installing the hardwired cameras, and it was well worth it. If money is an issue get the wireless cameras only, along with a separate router or a double frequency router so you can work on your computer with having to disable the cameras.

The package of 2 night cameras and two wifi cameras arrived fairly soon after ordering. However one of the wifi cameras after warm-up displayed erratic behavior no matter where placed outside or even inside the aluminum-sided dwelling. Lorex was very cooperative and promptly sent a replacement camera and a return mailer for the erratic camera.
I believe that the problem may actually have been in the small power supply for the camera. This particular power supply runs quite hot and may be underdesigned as I was able to detect occasional voltage drop-offs. I communicated this to Lorex but they had closed out the ticket. Fortunately I had a replacement Lorex power supply.
The set up was easy for the display and for our iPad and worked on our internal network. Getting the system to work via the internet was more complicated and consequently with the previously mentioned difficulty, took longer. However I am pleased with the final result.

I bought this system based on reviews and specs. Do yourself a favor and don't buy one of these. The dvr didn't work right from the start. It wouldn't keep the date and time. Two tech support people didn't have a fix. Well...... a few days later the cause showed up. The hard drive died. The system stopped recording and rebooted constantly. Epic fail! I'm returning it for a refund.
Now the good part. I bought an Eco4 system from Costco for less money. This system Iis much much better than the one I am returning. I understand Lorex needs to liquidate old stock but the price of the old equipment needs to be a lot less to be of any value at all. The Eco4 surpasses all my expectations based on my experience with the old system.

After doing a lot of research for a system that would fit my needs, I settled on this 4 camera with two wired and two wireless cameras. The setup was straight forward and the cameras work about as well as can be expected for a low cost security system. The interface of the DVR is not very easy to figure out. With the downloaded manual and some practice, it gets somewhat better. The remote viewing is NOT what is stated for easy set up. After doing everything in the self help support section, the access from a phone or tablet will not produce video. A request to customer support explaining the issue has not been answered. I can't call during the hours available for support so I am using PC software to view my system remotely. I will continue trying to contact support by email but so far I'm not impressed comparing the experience to other web based companies I use.

Cameras work well. DVR works as advertised.

Set up is not as obvious as made out to be but you will get there with patience and some time on the phone. Best to install slowly, one step at a time.

I should of taken the 4 wireless rather than 2 and 2, although mounts on the wired camera are 10 times better than those on the wireless in terms of rigidity and strength.

To be able to view remotely make sure your internet provider will allow Port Forwarding or minimally allow 'incoming' internet connections. The current Gen 4 Hughes Net systems are not compatible today. Beware the Hughes/Lorex combination. Not remote functionality for me and this was the reason I bought:{

Nothing but positive things to say about this system.

And it all started before I even received my equipment...

I was contacted by Lorex to tell me that my system was delayed because the DVR which was part of this bundle was unavailable. So, they simply upgraded me at no cost to a bigger, better DVR. This was customer service at its best.

Once I received the system, I had it installed and up and running within about 2.5 hours. EVERYTHING worked as good or better than I expected. Even the DDNS (FREE!) works perfectly.

I rate the COMPANY with FIVE STARS
I rate the system (Edge3 16channel DVR and 2 960H bullets along with 2 wireless bullets) with FIVE STARS!

I'll be buying more products from Lorex... guaranteed!

System is pretty user friendly and easy to set up. Had problems with one outdoor camera, but company very helpful - sent out new camera and remote receiver. Cameras working fine, but outdoor picture is much lower quality than indoor cameras. It is adequate for our monitoring needs.

I have 2 wireless and 2 wired cameras and I think they work great. Night vision is good.
I did need to call support so I could access through my phone and Ipad. I waited on hold for over 55 min. I was then helped only to have the phone call disconnected. After calling them back, and waiting for 20 min on hold, The problem was solved.

Hopefully I will be happy once my product is working. The tech support was frustrating because of the accents and I was asked the same info one the product 4 different times. It makes you wonder why you register your product if customer service cant even access it

There have been "incidents" in our nice neighborhood. These incidents have been increasing in frequency and slightly escalating in seriousness. It started as doorbell ringing, toilet paper and now there are on-fire items being thrown on lawns and some car and home break-ins. I bought this system to catch the thief(s) leading to conviction. Setup is very easy. The 1TB Edge Plus DVR is awesome with easy to manage software but the cameras at a distance of more than about 20 feet, are fuzzy at best. Up close the picture is good in both day and night. I am really looking for a camera that I (and the police) can identify more than shadows at a distance of about 50-60 feet. I am investigating at least one better camera to add to my system. The price, with the SPRING15 discount, could not be beat. I would recommend this system for short distance observation.

I like everything about the system and i think it is great except the remote viewing. The Lorex site is confusing and YOIC is a stinkling joke to try and use. It is filled with hidden SPAM and marketing scams. I still cant view my system remotely after two weeks of trying. Good local viewing and terrible remote viewing and directions/assistance.

I received this system and had it hooked up in a short time. Everything worked fine except i needed help accessing it from my smartphone, computer, and ipad. I called tech support, and they helped me, taking over my computer and doing the work for me. It was great. I think the cameras are terrific and the night vision is really nice. it looks as though it is daylight( although black and white, which is fine.) It is very easy to access the dvr and to check on recordings from each camera. The only thing i wonder about is the fan running all of the time on the DVR. I give this system 5 STARS. Support has been great, (expect long waits on the phone) I reccomend this system and it did not break the bank.

The merchandise was of excellent quality and the pictures are exceptionally clear, whether it is in the daytime or night. It only took about 20 minutes to get it connected and working. I did have a little problem getting the DDNS setup and working, but it works great now. I really enjoyed being able to view it form anywhere you go. Great product.

Great value - complete system

Setup was easy although I would skip YOICS and straight to the DDNS setup with port forwarding. Incredible range on on the wireless and no pairing required. I did order an Omni-directional antennae to reach my outbuilding but I already get a signal with the new antennae inside the house. Love it.

Some minor confusion in the manual - skip the YOICS setup - it is not clear in the instructions that this is not required. Also the setup for Omni-directional antennae with 4 wireless cameras and one antennae is not explained in the documentation that I can find.

Excellent camera and price

I purchased this camera for my barn. I have a mare due to foal this month and I wanted something I could connect to a TV or computer so I wouldn't need to walk out to the barn every hour to check on her. This camera is mounted approximately 65 feet from the house. It has to "see through" the wooden walls of the barn as well as the concrete blocks of the house for the wireless connection. It does this with ease and the picture is great. We first set it up to the TV monitor and it is very simple to set up. I now have it connected to a computer and the picture is streaming live so others can watch and alert me if the mare looks like she will foal while I am away from home. I could not be happier with this camera. There are other camera products out there that sell as "barn cams" for over 3 times the amount I paid for this one. I specifically wanted a wireless camera because of the amount of space betweem my house and barn. It would have been a nightmare to run wires all across the yard with a wired camera. The night vision is also great. I do not keep the lights on in my barn. I can easily see the horse in total darkness. This is a great camera.

Complete Home Security System - Solid Product!

The multi-cam security system is the way to go. It's easy to set up, and the DVR system is a fantastic way to go back and pinpoint a particular moment in time. It helps our business not only with security, but also with inventory inquiries and overall efficiency. The night-vision isn't as pristine as, say, that of a Navy SEAL's, but it illuminates the scene enough to catch anything suspicious. Overall- a great product.

Awesome Tool!

We bought this to catch our neighbors' dog "in the act" on our property, and even some footage of them sneaking into our backyard to collect their misbehaving dog. Then the footage came in handy to monitor the time a workman said he'd spent on the job when we weren't there. We love this system. It was easy to set up, is good quality, and we haven't even gotten around to connecting it to our internet yet, but that will make it even handier.

Wireless Security Camera,

I have 2 of these camera system. Both work as well as can be expected for wireless with good night vision and will send a signal 4-500 feet as advertised if there are no serious obstructions. Don't expect much detail such as reading license plates but you can usually tell make and models of vehicles. Installs easily but get a wired model if you want detail but harder to install.
