Digital HD security monitoring for your home or business

Leave nothing to the imagination with 2K (4 megapixel) HD home security monitoring. 2K quality can be the difference when identifying important details such as license plate numbers or faces. The LNB4321B and LNE4322B HD IP cameras can capture 2K footage at 20 frames-per-second. This ensures that the on-screen movement in your footage is smooth. Their 3D digital noise reduction (DNR) technology filters out noise for a cleaner image. They also utilize wide 90° angle lenses to provide you with broad fields of view.

2K (4 megapixel) network security monitoring

Why is 2K resolution important?

The main benefit of using a 2K security camera is that the higher resolution will offer a better chance to capture useful evidence should an incident ever occur. They will provide with more specific details, as well as an increased digital zoom ability.

Just tried out this all-in-one kit and we enjoyed the well thought of packaging. We had to do a little playing around with the bullet base to detach for an easier install. The domes are naturally just as easy. PoE direct to the DVR without a need for a PoE switch. The 60 ft cables you get aren't sufficient for some buildings or houses over 3500 square feet so we recommend you amazon an 80-100 ft set of pre-crimped cat 5e or 6 UTP pending your preference. The kit's small hard drive is annoying and adding a second drive it is critical you buy a NAS or long lasting MTBF drive set. We found the Seagates or WD brands work fine. The DVR acts strange when you first put in the drive because it doesn't tell you it's formatting the second drive upon power up. Overrall with the RTSP API, we are happy. We wish authentication could be in the form of a Key over SSL that could be generated for more integration work. The VBR feature for bit rate recording saves ALOT of space.

My wife and I purchased this product, it's working perfectly, very high quality image. One of the cameras did get damage maybe by water or something but Lorex was happy to replace it under our 1 year warranty. We'd recommend this product if you are looking for 24/7 monitor of your home.

This product is good and easy to install and set up yourself for home security . Everything needed is included except for outdoor weather boxes to mount the camera to. The visual output and image on the cameras is very good and the flir cloud set up also works great. Customer service could be a little quicker to respond if help is needed in setting up the system. Also one of the cameras stopped working shortly after it was installed. The waiting process to get a replacement is a little too long . Other than that this system is highly recommended.

We assess the product and the company when we encounter an issue outside an automated sale! Once you purchased this product you are your own. No timely support from the company. Before buying the product I researched the reviews and now I am really experiencing it. We do not have any big technical issues per se but the casual approach to minor things from customer service, technical support etc. are frustrating.

The video quality is far better than I had expected, used to have 1080p but 2k picture quality is (2x1080p) . The night vision was truly amazing and color. Installation was fairly easy, This is a very easy system to setup. The software is simple plug and play.

I upgraded from a night owl bNC system to the networked digital system. The resolution is a vast improvement and the hard drive holds more footage. I was getting two weeks on my old system and now I get almost four weeks recoding. The set up was easy. I had no issues getting it online. I have had no reason to call customer service so I cannot comment about their helpfulness.
I am pleased with the product and camera resolution. I would recommend this to friends and family.

I bought this system as a replacement for a system that was about 6 years old. Having upgraded from a 960p to a 2K resolution, the image quality is quite an improvement and so far the system has been running a week without issue. The products appear to be well built and the components work well together. Having said that, I do have two concerns that with this system / Lorex.

Issue #1 The system is a 2K package with six cameras but Lorex only included a 1TB hard drive rather than a hard drive more suited to the volume of data being recorded with 6 cameras. I will have to upgrade to a 3 or 4 TB hard drive to give me more than 3 or 4 weeks of storage space.

Issue # 2 - Customer service…. It is poor at best…
Before I bought the system I called the Lorex sales phone number to ask some basic questions about this system and found myself on hold for 45 minutes. I gave up waiting thinking that there was a glitch in their phone system and then called back 20 minutes later thinking I would be more successful reaching someone. Sadly, when I dialed in again, the message indicated that it would be over 1 hour before anyone could talk to me but I was given a choice to have someone call me back in 45 minutes so I selected that option.
Silly me…. I got a call 8 hours later and when the Lorex representative for sales returned my call, she indicated she could not answer the question as it was a technical question and that I would have to call back the following day as the call center was closing for the day.
Even with my disappointing customer service issue, I bought the system thinking this dismal customer service was a reflection on the sales department and I had read from other reviewers that the components of the system were decent. Boy was I wrong about the customer service…
So fast forward two weeks and as it turned out, I had to call Customer service for some assistance… I excitedly called into customer service expecting an efficient resolution to my problem but unfortunately spent 2.5hours on the phone again. During this time, I was transferred 3 times with 30 to 40 minute delays between each person. I had to threaten to box everything up and return the product (at my shipping cost) before I got someone to actually help me that cared and that person had the problem resolved in 2 minutes.
If you have time to deal with the poor customer / tech service, I think the product is as good as any but I guess time will be the judge on that front.

This was my first experience setting up a camera system of any kind and I found it rather simple and straight forward. I am very satisfied with the overall quality of both the dome and bullet cameras as well as the NVR itself which fits nicely on a small shelf in my equipment rack. Overheating and noise of the NVR are not an issue.

I would definitely recommend for residential use.

Purchased an installed about 2 weeks ago. Setup and installation of the NVR with POE was straight forward and relatively simple. The NVR fan is noisy and you need to install it in some isolated place. The cameras come with what looks like some weather-proof Ethernet connection, but the provided cable does not. Will have to wait and see how the connection holds up. The iPhone app appears to work well, but it takes some time to connect. Overall, fairly happy with the system.

I picked this package up to provide coverage with my new house.

I had priced out four cameras, but saw this bundle which included six of the wonderful 2k CNV cameras for less.

Video quality is great, the technology just works, and I have a sense of relief knowing it's there, keeping watch.

System seems to be pretty well what I expected. Clear picture but the color night vision leaves much room for improvement. It works but you need extra lighting, otherwise, you're in black and white. As some have stated, the shipping times leave a lot to be desired and the tracking was the absolute worst. After contacting Flir two or three times about my shipment, I got info about where my package was the morning of the delivery date which took more than two weeks from the initial purchase date. In all fairness though, tracking is the couriers responsibility.

I got exactly what I wanted. The shipping was fast and the products were not damaged during shipping. As you can see I'm in Canada so as long as the cameras survive the winter outside all will be good.

Got sent the wrong bullet cameras. All three bullet cameras were wrong. I received lower model 2MP cameras, not the 4MP color night vision like clearly stated several times. Ordered directly from this Lorex website.

It's ridiculous that a company does not double check their order (especially when spending close to $1000) and ensure customers receive the cameras they PAID for. If not paying attention, I could have very well gotten screwed out of this.

I recommend you all double check your order.

I'm still waiting for Lorex to get back to me. I called them yesterday. Was told they would get back to me today. I have not heard back yet, and in fact the ticket number created yesterday does not even exist under my profile.

Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We were happy to resolve this for you.

I paid $40 for 2 day shipping, but then found out that lorex reserves for themselves 5-10 business days just to put the shipment in the mail. So, I cancelled the order and was told to expect a refund.

I received NO refund, and instead got an email that my order was shipping out, 3 days after I cancelled it. I called customer service, spent an hour on the phone, and finally was told, "I'm sorry there is nothing we can do to help you." I now have to make a legal claim as they have fraudulently taken my money.

So, to summarize, this company does not do business up to American standards. I recommend buying from Backstreet Surveillance instead. They have excellent customer service, shipped to me within 2 days for free, and their product is outstanding.

Our apologies for any difficulty you experienced. your refund was processed.

After a lot of research online I decided to go with the Lorex HDIP solution. I like to check out the actual products before I buy them, but the local stores don't seem to stock the IP systems so the choice to buy directly from Lorex was easy, and I'm glad that I did.

The system is easy to setup and start using right away. As others have mentioned you can certainly hear the fan running, but I expected that and have it located in my utility room. I did have an issue with the night vision on one of my cameras, but I submitted a ticket online and they sent me out a replacement. Every thing is working great now.

This is my first video security system for home and I will likely get one for my remote property as well.

Have installed this system in new home we just built. Easy installation and set up.
Clarity is awesome.
We are thinking about adding two more LNE4322B cameras.
So far this system performs as stated.

Recommended to a friend and he just installed his new system.
So far they like their systems performance also.

Easy set up and installation. Had it up less the two weeks, so still figuring out the mobile application portion. Don't forget to watch out for your internet data limits when you stream using FLIR Cloud. The hard drive is a bit loud, but not too bad. Hope Lorex will develop a very small outdoor camera.

this is my second system, it's easy to install and setup. be diligent about planning the locations for the cameras and recorder. routing the cables is the hardest part of the install.
I can recommend this to anyone, just be aware if you record 24/7 with 8 cameras that will give you about 2 days of saved history before it's being deleted

My daughter and I did an initial bring up of the system and went pretty smoothly except on one camera too a system reboot to be recognized. The support rep was very responsive in sending me the link to download the client software. I tried to install the app on my Android phone but got a message stating there was not enough room on the phone. We have not yet fully installed the cameras outside and start monitoring. When installing the client sw, I do recall that cameras were not automatically discovered and that I had to add the cameras to be monitored; more as I make progress in the installation.

After reviewing many systems on the market and considering the building of a component level system I opted to go with a kit from Lorex. The system had many things that I wanted including 1080p resolution, weatherproof cameras, true IP PoE based connections, and within the price range I was hoping for. Although packaging departments attention to detail is severely lacking (the included network cables were nowhere to be found) and the phone support can not be reached, I am still liking the product. I was hoping for something that was a little easier to setup and configure plus I was really hoping that the cameras themselves would have individual webpages for configuration. The documentation states that the cameras can be connected directly to your network but, in my attempts to do so they have all failed. Documentation is severely lacking on how to configure this. As for the NVR plugging the cameras directly into them makes them come online within about five minutes. Flir Cloud seemed like it would be a nice touch but is very poorly integrated. I would recommend that a true login and password system be implemented that when you open an app based Flir Cloud it downloads all the information from the servers so that a user does not have to put in the DDNS account, Ports, and logins. In addition, the logins are strange. There are several that have to be setup but you never know which login is being asked for. Is it a camera? Is it the NVR? Is it Flir Cloud? Also, passwords are a joke. It takes "six characters" no more, no less, they must be letters or numbers no punctuation. That makes it very difficult to secure your system.

The video quality is decent, but don't expect the "Color Night Vision" cameras to display color, you have to fiddle with them to get it turned on. It is not intuitive and not documented. Also, what you might consider to be enough light may not be enough for the cameras. Moonlight is definitely not enough, a porch light is not enough, it basically needs to be dusk or dawn to get the camera to display color at night.

I have been planning to purchase and install a home security system for more than five years. i have researched various systems in retail stores, security companies, AT&T, Direct TV etc. Most salesman in store such as Sam's, Best Buy etc., no very little about their products and were not able to answer simple questions. The Direct TV and AT&T phone salesman were even worse. Their advertising mail outs were misleading. Most of my research was done on the internet. I then started to concentrate on the manufacture web sites such as Swan and Lorex. I selected Lorex because of the website, Excellent Product Information.

I added a 8 Port POE because I wanted to terminate all camera wires in attic and ;then run one Cat 5 to my office.

Everything worked right out of the box. I did not have to call tech support. I highly recommend this 8 channel PoE switch with any Lorex system

I will purchase and install two additional cameras this week. I especially like the FLIR cloud app for my I pad and I phone.

This is my first video security camera system.
Very easy to install and has met my expectations, the NVR NR8081 fan is not so loud like other models. Easy to setup, connecting to my phone (android ) was very easy but has a lot of ...bugs. Cameras have very good quality during the day.
Hard to setup the DDNS.

I'll write more soon with some feedback about the system's performance on the run.

I purchased this system because my wife and I have started doing some traveling and wanted a little more security at our home. I am in no way a tech person but had no problems installing this and getting internet connections to our phones. The single cable system is so simple to install. The 1080 quality is great. We are purchasing additional cameras to add to system. I would purchase this again.

The pictures are clear only when objects are standing still. With any motion the pictures are all blurry. Alot of software issues, such as it is unable to stream the main feed on the LAN occasionally, DDN not working, motion detection is not true motion, but rather just image changes (which makes it very sensitive.)

Hardware is easy to install. The recorder itself is very sensitive to being moved; even though the power cord never came out of its socket, the unit shutdown several times while slightly moving it to plug camera cables in. Plug everything and don't move the unit anymore! The fans are noisy. Place unit in a closed locker and make sure enough air is being fed.

Software is not so intuitive as I would have liked, being used as we are to other applications being more user friendly in our everyday lives now. A little contextual help/terms definition would be nice.

Connecting the system to the internet was a breeze. Accessing it through their FLIR Cloud app is not. Hint: you have to restart the desktop app (on a Mac) sometimes to have a video feed come back in (or completely restart your iPhone if using the mobile app). A small annoyance but fixes the issue.

Image quality is great, especially night vision in total darkness.

Although my review is critical, I am satisfied with the unit and cameras (after one month). It does what I expected of a surveillance system well. I removed two stars because of the software that manages the unit/cameras as I have to figure things out myself.

Lorex, update the software interface and workflow and fix the app issues and you'll get 2 additional stars.

Thank you for your feedback. We recently released a Flir Cloud update, please make sure you have the latest version installed. If you require any technical assistance, we will be happy to help you. Please call us at 1-877-755-6739.

I haven't had time to install the system yet. I have tested the system and all of the cameras and so far, I'm very pleased with the system. As an experienced tech person, one of the most attractive aspects of the system is that running CAT5e cable is almost second nature to me. The addition of POE makes the whole installation infinitely easier than if I'd had to run power and data separately.

I'm still plotting out the ultimate location of the six cameras I have and contemplating getting two additional cameras. Fortunately, expansion and reconfiguration are easy.

Purchased this during their Christmas sale last year for $600+tax. Both the bullet and dome cameras work well and are sharp with good contrast. Have been running this for the last 6 months without a hiccup. They work in complete darkness in b/w mode but need some ambient light to work in color at night. I have two 40 watt lamps between my garage doors with a camera in between them but it still defaults to b/w at night. They were very easy to install since you only have to deal with one cable for power and video with PoE. The NVR is a bit noisy so I have mine installed in the garage and can log into it from any computer on my network through a browser. Just about every setting is available through the browser except to power down or reboot the device so I don't even have a monitor or mouse directly hooked up to it.
Using the FLIRCloud app on my Android phone and also my Ipad also work great. Note that the resolution on these is reduced compared to viewing from a browser due to reduction in bandwidth which is expected. Overall I would highly recommend.

I purchased this unit to replace an existing unit. The main reason in selecting this unit was for the PoE feature and the 1080p cameras. I must say it was a lot easier running the cables for this system then it was my old BNC system and I haven't had any issues with it. The video on this unit is really clear and I like the ability to zoom in in the software so you can get a better view of an area. The night vision in the cameras, at least at my house, looks like it is daytime from the IR's being so bright. I can see the whole backyard, pool, driveway, front yard, etc as I can in the daytime. The only thing I would change would be the fan in the unit to be a little quieter but it isn't loud by any means, just a low small fan noise. My network switch is louder than this unit, but that is what you get with shorter devices and small fans. I have full 1080p recording 24/7 and I get about 5 days of recordings out of the 1TB hard drive. I will probably upgrade the hard drive at a later date to a larger one for more days of storage. I would definitely buy this unit again and I have already recommended it to friends looking for the same setup.

This unit is solid. The NVR is of great quality. Unlike many products today, this unit was made with metal and good quality parts. Adding the second hard drive was a breeze and all the parts needed were included. Too many companies fail to include things like screws and this company included it all.

The software is a little immature, yet functional. The mouse based keyboard is very creative, saving one from buying a keyboard to just collect dust. You do need to get used to the right button being the 'esc' or 'back' function.

All the components work great together. One irritating thing is the audible alarm. It just beeps and beeps and beeps and doesn't tell you why it is upset. It turns out that you must connect at least on camera on boot up or it beeps, and beeps, and beeps...

I haven't had the chance to get it fully installed yet, but it is awesome so far and loaded with features.

Very happy with this system... Setup was simple! Within a short time we had the cameras showing up on our iPhones and iPads, and when you set the feed to Main, the quality is exceptional! (By default, the feed is set to Sub, which saves on bandwidth). Also, since the system comes with 6 cameras, but can handle 8, we have the option to add 2 upgrades PTZ cameras down the line!

Wish I Could put a bigger password for the users and admin. Put on separate network without internet access good for my needs. Got it to watch the rotating nurses that come in and out of my place to take care of my mom. Surprisingly clear image recording thumbs up. Need's bigger password protection to put on my main network.

A pretty good user friendly product, but two things to point out that were not as expected.
1) The cameras that came with with product typically only display black and white images. There is some fine print text regarding the color/B&W images, but my experience is that the images are not in color most of the time.
2) Expedited Shipping is a subjective term that has nothing to do with when you place your order, it's once they ship it. After waiting approximately 10-days for an expedited order that was in stock Lorex responded with the following, "... These delivery times are calculated from the time the order leaves our warehouse, not from the time of placing the order. Processing times vary between 1-6 days depending on the time of year and product availability."

Would I still buy this product? Yes.
But I would ask some questions to ensure that the product meets your needs and expectations.

Very easy to setup! Works great right out of the box.

The cameras have great quality. You need to adjust the night mode for the image quality to be right.

The email alerts take quite a bit of tweaking but work well. The snapshots that the email alerts send are great quality.

Overall, I highly recommend!

Great system. Easy setup. Crystal clear video. Flir app worked no problem. Very pleased overall. The only issue I had was getting the proper resolution output so the security screens displayed on my hdtv and also fit the screen properly. The manual doesn't cover this so it was a little trial and error on my part navigating the settings menu while I was hooked up to a monitor and my tv simultaneously.

This system is AWESOME! I'm very glad I finally talked myself into buying a security camera system. The picture quality on the system is amazing. That's one of the reasons this 6 camera system is more expensive than some of those others you see at Frys, BestBuy or Costco. Some of those are less than half of the resolution of these cameras which are FULL HD!! I have all 6 cameras installed and operating. The 1TB hard drive has enough storage to retain the continuous streams for about 4 days. You can increase this by decreasing the quality (not recommended) or purchasing a bigger hard drive. You could even sync the data back to a NAS if so desired.

The POE is a great feature as well. You only have to run one wire to each of the cameras. Makes installation much easier.

The only drawback I came across was the color night vision. I may have missed it in the description, but it will only be color if there is sufficient light. If there is not enough light, the standard black and white night vision is enabled. But the standard night vision is very clear and in fact, seems to be able to capture much more than when color night vision is enabled.

Out of the box the HD NR808 was defective. The initial splash screen (white with the Lorex logo) was clear but when the camera screen came up there were purple and black vertical bars, the color was way off and the image from one of the cameras I had plugged in to test the system was not as clear as it should have been. The NVR was connected to a high def monitor via an HDMI cable. Tried swapping cables, rebooting and swapping cameras. Tried calling technical support but that was going to be a waste of time. The wait period to try and speak with someone was outrageous. Spoke with customer support which I presume is in a foreign land and I didn't get much help. She tried to connect me to a tech support rep to no avail. While the unit was plugged in, I noticed that the noise generated is pretty loud and placing this unit in a closet probably would not mask the noise.
I will be returning this item and do not intend to take a chance with Lorex again.

Thank you for your feedback. We're very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. We would have been happy to replace it for you but have processed your refund as you requested.

Nice resolution. Lots of different ways to connect remotely. Awesome night vision. Cameras feel well made. Running all that LAN cable through the attic space was a workout. Drilling holes through the eaves was challenging. DVR fan is fairly loud. Software (three different choices: DVR, FLIR Cloud, and IP Connect using Internet Explorer) is robust but complex.

Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase.

I purchased and installed this system for our new home, and I liked the fact that I can be notified through my smart phone. I have purchased a separate monitor to view while in my office. I haven't set up the network yet but I'm sure with customer support it will go smoothly. Since I installed the cameras, I have noticed that the night vision greatly reduces the distance of clear vision. What I can clearly view in the daytime I can view only about half the distance at night. The ease of installation makes this system good for the diy guy in the family.

Had a problem with initial start up, I had an small HD TV I was going to use for a monitor but the system would not display on it. I called Tech Support and they were very helpful determining the resolution mismatch, and gave me the comparable resolution option. I purchased the HDIP833W package with 6 cameras (3 dome and 3 bullet). This is my first surveillance system. I first setup and tested the complete system on a table in my workshop. I then installed all six cameras which was easy. The hard part was installing cabling from the NVR to the cameras in an existing house. Overall installation and setup was easy following the simplified procedures provided by Lorex. I did have to call the Lorex help desk regarding the web access to the NVR. They were very helpful. After using it for one week, I am very pleased with the system and the quality of the video.

The system is awesome. The camera's clarity is fantastic. The app and ip interfaces are intuitive. I would vote to take the jump and purchase this.

my home was burgled - so i got this too late. But being burgled has made me unreasonably upset. I don't know why (well i lost about a years worth of income on items that were stolen) but I just want to catch the guy who did it.

The neighbors have a camera system - the analog one of a different brand - i was thankful that it caught a glimpse of the theif - but it wasn't clear enough.

So i bought this, so if in the odd chance someone else tries to take things from my home, i might be able to see who it was. which is much more important to me than "scaring them away" with an alarm.

the only issue i have with this at this point, is the difficulty with wiring. I'm thankful that its a POE system, as it is less wires, but still my home is is 120 years old. The amount of fire blocks and heavy construction make it almost impossible to run the wires without some heavy plaster removal. Even then, the footer of the home in the basement is solid 12 x 12 beams - running any new wiring is a hassle.

Its not the systems fault i have an old home. I'm excited about it but I still have a long way to go installing - i only have 2 up as of now (there just isn't enough time in a weekend).

I'm excited about it and think its worth the price. I'll let you know if anything goes bad. But as of now - its fantastic.

Purchased the HDIP833W over during Holiday sale. The package with NVR and 6 cameras including free standard shipping was a great deal! Cameras and NVR system shipped to house in a little over a week with the standard shipping even during busiest shipping season of year. I installed 4 of the 6 cameras and had on my home network over a single weekend. I was viewing through cameras using FLIR Cloud app on Android phone within minutes of the system being turned on. Remote viewing with the FLIR cloud client from a remote PC took a few tries and a couple questions to an IT friend regarding the port forwarding. Overall, I am very happy with the entire system and after using both remote viewing options I find myself already shopping for a PTZ camera to enhance my new Lorex security system.

Purchased a 8 channel system with 6 HD IP cameras(HDIP833W) during Thanksgiving sales. Great value; great system. Other than the wiring, the set-up was fairly easy for them. It took my son-in-law and grandson a full weekend to wire 6 cameras. Sixty feet of tightly wound cat-5 wire was short and difficult to work with so they used their own supplies. If I had to do this purchase over, I would consider wireless cameras. I am not ready to ask my family to attempt to wire the last 2 ports. Very happy with the system and being able to view my house remotely. I can probably tweak the cameras to have clearer views, as shown in advertisements, but I am very pleased so far with the system. Exactly what I needed without hurting my pocketbook.

I found the setup to be super easy. Rather than hooking up a monitor to it, I can simply access and control the NVR via LAN using Mozilla FireFox or via the FLIR Cloud software. You simply need to set your forwarding ports on your router (i.e. the 35000 TCP port on your NVR & assigned IP), setup your DDNS and you're in business to view remotely! Set up on Android and iPhone is a breeze. Install the FLIR Cloud app, scan the QR code sticker on the NVR, log in and your done! One thing I didn't like about the system is the weak password requirements. You're only limited to 6 characters. At least the price and other features outweighs that flaw.

I love this product very much. Everything was included in the package. Nicely packed. No damages at all. But shipping was delayed by ups. I still do rate this product 5 star. Because this pproduct meet my requirement. And good camera resolution with motion detect. Night vision included. Alarm system included. Easy to install. There is enough space inside the dvr for external hard drive. Just quick question for Lorex which is if I add additional external hard drive do I really need to get 1 Tb or I can get bigger storage HDD.??? Since it comes with 1 TB HDD. storage system need to be balance as we do with computer RAM. PLEASE let me know LOREX customer Survice. I really love this product. I will recommend to my friends and family next time. Over all all the cameras are heavy duty. You can't compeet with any other brand. Price was reasonable and I did shop around with the coupon online. I get 15% off from the total price which was excellent with the free shipping.

Thank you very much.

This system was super easy to install, if you can run a power drill and fish some wires you are good to go. System fires right up when you follow the directions.

The cameras have a great HD picture. Night vision is awesome and can light up a very large area in pitch black conditions. I'm giving only 4 stars as I've just installed the system about a week ago. So far so good, no problems to report..

Bought this set (HDIP833W) during Lorex's Thanksgiving sale. Having it installed and running for 2~3 weeks now.

There are some problems which are annoying, mainly on software side.

1. It is almost impossible to find the FLIR client for Mac. The link that seems to direct to downloading page of the client does not work at all. And google search also didn't render any useful page. I was a little surprised that Lorex didn't take time to make this simple stuff simple.

2. Accessing NVR with web browser is not working for me. On both Mac & Windows it requires me to install a web plugin, but on Mac it results in 404 error when I click install; on Windows 10 the installation aborted in the middle. Tech support is also not helping in this case.

3. FLIR client for iOS is easy to get, but it also has annoying bug during set up. Basically you'd have to input name for NVR first and then scan the QR code (or vice versa). In fact it's a known bug and Lorex provided a workaround in some document, but I don't understand why they don't fix this bug.

4. This is a hardware failure. Basically night vision of one of the dome camera stopped working after 10days or so. That camera continues to work during day, but it's not working at night. The tech support first asked me to use a flashlight to reactivate the night vision, but that didn't work. So they decided to send me a replacement camera yesterday, and it's still on its way.

Overall, the installation was easy; the hardware quality was good (except the failed night vision...), and they'd promptly replace failed hardware without issue; my complaint is mainly about the software support, which in my opinion is PITA. But since I got this with a really good price, I'm giving it a 4 star.

*Service / Shipment / Packaging: Excellent on all points. Items were exceptionally packed and padded for safe delivery. I point this out mostly due to the issues with other vendors over the Christmas holiday- such a pain to deal with items damaged due to lazy packing.

*Fit / Finish / Construction: Again, excellent. I am a manufacturing engineer by trade, and I can say that the camera housing and internals are well constructed and deserve the outdoor rating. All cables are properly constructed with good attention to potential tension relief requirements.

*General Operation: Unfortunately, I have only done a limited setup of a couple of cameras in my office, but in that setting, everything is working flawlessly. OS seems relatively smooth, and more than capable for typical residential / small business use. There are a couple of advanced tools within the GUI that I will likely have to contact support on, but I think 90% of consumers would skip utilizing those features anyway. The real test will be of final setup- in the case where I need to extend a few cameras with POE switch, how well signals are processed with all cameras in operation, frame rate vs resolution, etc.. I will update my review later with final results.

Overall, I would recommend the product. Installation is on the border of what most people can do themselves and what you would want to hire a contractor for, so I would recommend reviewing the product manuals before purchase and if too challenging to DIY, check install prices in your area- they are surprisingly high in my area.

Lastly, if you have any plans to use one of the channels as a baby monitor, please read the literature regarding microphone integration and triggering, there are some limitations; it may be sufficient for some, and not others.

picture quality is great. My oldest son Mark helped me install the camera's. night vision is also great. would buy again did recommend to my friends and neighbors. packaging was perfect. the only flaws were the very tight coils of the cat5 wires. this was a pain to uncoil and straighten out and added time onto the job. also I need a manual. the weather proof white plastic sealers that come with each camera need to be explained better and ONLY work if you cut the wires. these should be factory installed. great quality and easy website for the shopping end. over all very very happy 4 stars guys good job. work out the small issues Lorex and you will be 6 out of 5 stars. $777.00 and NO manual ???? really going green? what's in your bathroom leaves or toilet paper???

After some research on the internet, this system was chosen for its resolution and price. It took two persons about two hours to set up the cameras and to run the wires in the attic and through the wall down to the location of the router. The hook up is very easy and the system is running in no time. The set up for the two phones (iPhone and Android) took more time than planned and involved reboot of the phones. The set up for the PC is a bit more difficult and took some time. The client SW could not be found at the link printed on the instructions. After some browsing around, the client SW can be downloaded from the download tab found in the system link. The system is very noisy as noted by some reviewers. Overall I give a 4 Stars due to the noise and the difficulty of the remote set up.

I first heard of Lorex from a friend who is a police officer here in Hawaii. This being my first security camera purchase, I decided to research other products but finally decided on the Lorex HDIP833W system. The items were delivered via UPS in 1 box which was nicely packed. The hardest part of the installation was running the wires for each camera and deciding where to place the DVR. The cameras and DVR are made from solid metal not cheap plastic. The HD camera quality is very good! The picture is very clear with great color during the day. The night vison is clear as well even in very dark areas. So far the only issue is the fan noise level on the DVR is noticeable but not a problem. Downloading the Flir Cloud App on my Android Smart Phone was easy which enables me to monitor the cameras whenever and wherever I am. This is a solid product and so far I am very pleased with this Lorex System! I would highly recommend Lorex!

The HDIP833W is the first home security system I have owned. I did my research and this Lorex system fit my budget and quality I wanted. It was as easy to install as the literature and advertising said it was. After unpacking it and setting it up I plugged in all the wiring and turned it on. First I installed the app and then I scanned the QR code with my iPhone. I was viewing the cameras within seconds. Amazingly fast. I did purchase a monitor a few days later and plugged in the HDMI cable and power cable and was viewing all six cameras in multiple configurations right away. There is also room for 2 additional cameras. The quality is impressive night or day and very easy to use. The single CAT5e cable was easy to use with the PoE feature (Power over Ethernet). You can have up to a 300' run of cable which covers everything I had to do. I'm very happy with this system and I can view my home cameras with my iPhone and be comfortable that I know it is secure.

I bought the HDIP833W around black friday to replace my 4 year old 480P analog system. The difference is night and day! It's amazing how technology has progressed.

Physical installation - It's easier to install than the analog system. I installed 5 cameras and they are all on the eave of my house. We routed all cat5 cables through one spot on the eave of the house from the attic, then route them to all 5 cameras. We knocked the installation out in about 4 hours and we were taking our time. A fish tape will help the installation tremendously.

Hardware - first rate. Cameras are well-built and the picture quality is breath taking. Color is excellent. The sensors are sensitive enough that the front of my house has enough ambient light that IR does not kick in. DVR looks good and does an amazing job recording all channels (I only used 5 of 8) @ full 30FPS @ 1080P. Playback and nice and smooth. You can even sync play all streams by time to get the full picture. Like other have said, the DVR is quite loud. I would not want to put this in a bedroom.

Software - Pretty good. I tested the PC client, iOS client, and ActiveX version through IE. There are a lot more settings than what I was used to with my old systems but reading the manual helped a lot. I was able to set up motion detection with email notification within 20 minutes. The QR code setup makes it really easy for people who don't want to mess with DDNS. IOS client (FLIR Cloud) does time out from time to time. 3rd party ios app (IP CAM VIewer) does work with this NVR (NR-8081), I just can't get the substream to display though. Other than working directly from the NVR, my favorite client is the desktop PC client.

Overall - I love this system and will recommend this to my tech savvy friends who want a affordable prosumer surveillance system.

One last tip: I found it to be much more responsive and better bandwidth to view the camera directly through DDNS rather than through the Lorex relay (QR code). Hope this helps!

My first video security system was a wireless version that interfered with my home Wi-Fi so I had to switch to a wired system. The new wired system works great. Running the CAT5e cable was easy and with the PoE feature (Power over Ethernet) no plug-in power transformers were required at the camera locations. Setup was a snap and there are multiple ways to access the camera video: Flir Cloud, PC Client, local web interface, DDNS and smartphone app. The interface and menus are slightly different depending on which method you use for access, so there is a little learning curve, but there are downloadable manuals available. Being able to view the video on my smartphone greatly simplified the camera angle and positioning setup. With the included free Lorex DDNS service it is easy to remotely access all the features of the system from any PC. The telephone technical support was excellent. I had a couple of setup questions and the techs I talked to were very knowledgeable and friendly (and no long wait on hold to talk to them!).

Power over Ethernet (POE) makes this system a great deal. It is very easy to setup and picture quality is outstanding. The packaging of this product was outstanding compared to other brands that I have purchased in the past. Everything arrived in great condition and the construction of the product is fabulous. The only drawback that I could find is there are certain passwords that will not work for remote login, but once I changed it to one that was more unique it worked fine.

I have been looking for a security system for quite sometime and was just waiting for a sale. Once I saw the Cyber Monday deals it was a no brainer to purchase. I use Flir equipment at work so I was confident in the Lorex brand but needless to say I was still suprised with the ease of set up and the quality of the equipment.I would definitely recommend this system.

I had been waiting for a good sale on IP based HD security systems. My old Eco four camera DVR system has been running strong for three years so I felt confident in purchasing another system from Lorex. With the FLIR name attached I had hoped the technology in the background had improved as well. I was immediately impressed with the weight of the system. The housings are extremely well made and the mounting brackets look like they won't droop in a hurricane or any foul weather. I tested the system in the house before heading out to installation. Get all of your connections set up before getting on a ladder. It will also help to have your phone app connected before working outside to help with proper aiming of each camera. The color reproduction during the day is excellent and the quality is too. Make sure if you're basing the reviews off the phone apps that you select the highest quality - since it automatically gives a lower quality to save bandwidth and phone data plans. Night time in complete dark the resolution is just as crisp. Keep in mind the IR illuminators do have a working range specified. I've not had a chance to see the color night vision (low light) work yet, however.

As far as the network connectivity goes, the NVR and its apps are greatly improved. The setup is much easier and definitely do take advantage of the DDNS service, it will make your setup go smoothly especially in terms of internet access. It took me longer to set up the firewall since, as a network engineer, I over-complicated the process. Also, my router is not one that worked correctly with the auto port forwarding tool you can download. Follow the instructions and do not add what you think is missing. Contact support if you have a non-standard router setup at your location. They will be able to get you connected. Now that the system is set up and accessible from anywhere, I do not anticipate any issues with it. I have to say I've seen systems that cost twice as much be much harder to configure and install. I'll update as time goes on at the moment I'm going to go with a safe four stars. I do think that a printed manual would be nice these days or at least a cd with the necessary initial files on it should be included. I spent more time trying to make sure I had the right software and versions than I did actually setting the NVR up. Once the reliability passes muster at least six months in, I'll update my review.

This is the first surveillance system that I have purchased; the Black Friday deal made this system quite affordable. This system is pretty much plug and play; plug in the system and cameras and they work. Minimal setup required to get started. I did have one defective camera (unreliable network jack on camera); support will call me to arrange replacement. When I called the support number, the support person was excellent, he was personable, patient, thorough and knowledgeable. English is clearly his primary language, so no issues understanding him. He pointed out that the first character on the device ID is a lowercase "L" and not an "I", thus fixing my FLIR connectivity issue. Very nice resolution from the cameras. I do wish the interface was more intuitive. Overall, I really do like this system and would recommend it.

I current have a Lorex ECO4 system with 8 cameras for several years which is very quiet. Though I am very happy with it, it is time to upgrade to a NVR with 1080p. I was excited to get this holiday deal. However, After I plugged in the power to the NVR, the noise is so big that I could not go further because this system is intend to be used in my bedroom closet. The noise is measured at 62 DB, at the same sound level as my refrigerator, equivalent to normal street noise. Sadly, I cannot continue to do any setup but to return it.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you are not satisfied with your purchase. Our sales team was happy to assist you as needed. If DVR's are making abnormal noises our technical support team will be happy to assist and set up an exchange under warranty if needed.

Black Friday deal made this system unbeatable in price. Setup was easy. Setting up port forwarding was easy using Lorex downloadable software. I added a PT camera (waiting for the last camera, a PTZ) and it works excellent. I knocked one star off because the NVR is NOISY (fan is loud) and the rear USB port is a 3.0 while the front is a 2.0 (should be the other way). I have a Night Owl HD NVR system right next to this one and I can't hear that one at all.

This was my first security camera system, after researching and using FLIR products for my job, led me to look at Lorex. Once received, the packaging was top notch! This system has great features and the image quality of the cameras are great. Had a few issues setting up the DDNS but the problem was within my router, which took just a couple of hours of reading through forums. Overall Satisfied, would recommend to others.

This is my first security camera system I bought, after a long research for a system that I can trust. It is easy to setup and I can install the app. to use on my family Iphone, tablets without any problem. I did have some issue to set up the DDNS but Lorex's tech support was wonderful and knowledge, the real issue was my internet provider so one call to AT&T fixed the problem. I am happy with the quality and performance with this system.

I would recommend this system. Pretty easy to set up after reading the directions. Works well. Apps works good on my Iphone. Picture quality is awesome. I would have given the system 5 stars but my package was missing a remote control. Hopefully Lorex will come through and send me a new one. 5 stars otherwise.

I bought this system at Costco at a good price. This system was very simple to install and the video is great. I installed the FLIR Cloud app on my I-Phone for remote viewing and it works great. I have just installed another Lorex system at my home and can view both accounts from a single app. The only problem that I have not resolved is the DDNS setup. I cannot get it to work on my home system on a PC with Windows Vista System nor can I get it to work on this system which operates on Windows 7. I tells me to install a plug-in which I have tried numerous times. After it installs and you try to log in, it again tells you to install the plug-in again.

Shipping was fast, and the packaging was very secured. The cameras were very easy to setup and test. All 4 cameras and cables were tested and functioning properly in less than an hour. The online FLIR Cloud account was also easy to setup and use. The quality of the video is excellent as expected from a HD camera. It's very nice to be able to view live videos of your house from any where around the world.

The cameras are very easy to set up and all the required equipment to do so are given. The video quality is very sharp and the night vision is clear and switches to it quickly upon poor lighting. The flir cloud app is easy to connect to your cameras and is effective to view your cameras surveillance away from your house. I was very pleased to make this purchase after a long time of researching for the perfect camera system.

High quality, great value, great resolution and 2TB to store video longer. Two of the supplied cat5e cables were to short (60ft) for my runs, but at this price I was able to buy two 100 ft cables and still be well under my budget. Setup was very easy. I suggest testing the locations of the cameras before installing them by setting the system up before pulling the wire in the attic or wherever. Have someone watch the monitor and someone hold the cameras in different locations to get the best view. System came with everything needed except the monitor. I don't have reliable internet where I live so I didn't contect it to the net.

I chose Lorex based upon my industrial experience with Flir Systems. The system was easy to install and the image quality is excellent. I highly recommend the product. My biggest challenge was, and remains, a reasonable internet service that meets upload requirements. Consumer internet is focused upon download speed, but remote access needs upload speed.

Delivery great. Packaging great. Support very helpful. Cameras good. Nvr software horrible. Has not been updated in over a year and in my opinion should be re-coded from scratch. Too many screens to control recording. No idea how to use scheduler and support was unsure. Pc software unusable with cameras constantly going offline. A revamp of the software would get this product a great review. Still deciding whether to return this and look for something with better software.

This system is truly a plug and play. It only took a few minutes to install the Flir Cloud app and have the remote working on my I-Phone.I have only mounted three of the eight cameras because the cables were only 60 ft long and the building that I protecting is 80'X120'. I have ordered longer cables for the rest of the installation. The pictures are great with the 1080-P resolution. I have also purchased another Lorex system for my home.

Thank you for your feedback. We're happy you are satisfied with your system!

I will start off by saying the Website is easy to navigate and has tons of information.

My order only took a week to get to me, great shipping speed!!

My first thoughts when opening the box was, Wow do they pack this nice. Everything is bubble wrapped, no chance of damage during transport.

The product is amazing! Clear Picture, Easy connection. The hardest part of the install was trying to figure out where to run the wires.

I am very happy with my purchase from Lorex, I would recommend this product to everyone!

The HD is a little bit louder than one would think.

Total install time on all 4 cameras up and running. System setup, and all motion areas set. About 1 hour.

Many of the reviews I found said that Lorex as "easy to install and setup!" It turns out that it was ABSOLUTELY TRUE! Having reviewed and tested a variety of cameras and systems, Lorex was by far VERY EASY to setup. IT IS A GREAT SYSTEM.

THAT SAID, I would warn you that for a great experience, PLAN for some preparation work. Preplanning was the key to our successful installation. Here are some things you should do and know:

1.- Open the box IMMEDIATELY when it arrives. By the way, mine arrived on the day that it was supposed to arrive. Make sure you have everything in the box. That helped me to be familiar with everything BEFORE I did the installation.

2.- DON'T THROW AWAY ANYTHING. Everything is neatly packaged and every bag - tiny and big - have a purpose. In the cameras you will find a small bag with screws but ALSO there are very tiny setscrews. These are critical to locking your cameras in position.

3.- SET UP YOUR SYSTEM IN HOUSE and turn it on. I uncoiled a small amount of cabling for each camera. I then plugged the cameras into the NVR, plugged the NVR into a monitor (best to use HDMI for setup), then the Ethernet cord into your network, and finally the TWO power cords.

4.- USE THE NVR TO GET FAMILIAR WITH THE SETTINGS. But don't spend too much time setting up things. Mostly, you will want to setup the time, maybe name the cameras. This step makes sure that all is working and your system will get any updates needed.

5.- SETUP A STATIC IP ON THE NVR. I didn't at first and the IP changed a few times.

6.- SETUP THE DDNS ONCE FOR ALL. A bit difficult in the steps but well worth the effort.

7.- DOWNLOAD AND SETUP THE WEB INTERFACE for the NVR. It will be your private IP address. The first time you go you will be prompted to install the web tools. Then use the web interface to see the different areas of the NVR.

Once you've done this work, your preplanning is done. I spent about 3 hours in this preplanning phase and it paid off the day we did the install. I knew where to go, what to look for and how to change things.

I setup everything up again and used one camera. Using the Web interface, I would hand hold the camera and ask my wife to "take a snapshot" of the image using the Preview on the web interface. You're not looking for perfection but an idea of what the position looks like.

I spent about three hours "testing" camera positions BEFORE installing the cameras. EXCELLENT TIME WELL SPENT.

Now you are ready to install. Since you did your preplanning, you know everything will work. BE PREPARED TO WORK VERY HARD. It is not a hard install but since you and I don't do this for a living, it will take some time. Between running the cables in a TEXAS ATTIC IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY, pulling the cables throw walls, drilling holes, mounting cameras, it took us 6 hours to setup.

By the way, each camera comes with a decal for the hole placement. EXCELLENT AND USE IT! Made it so easy to drill my holes. Use a 1" paddle to drill the hole for the cable. The cable will go through, just be patient as you wiggle it through. Use a very small drill to drill your pilot holes.

So for me, it took about 6 hours of preplanning and 6 hours of install and 1 hour of clean up. TOTAL INSTALL: 13 hours. Yes I'm slow and you could probably do it faster.

FINALLY, once you plug everything in (you know it's going to work because you tested everything before), be prepared to be amazed. The image quality is great.

Last point! I don't work for the company. I saw this at a friend's house and originally didn't like the system. He had the wireless kind and it was SLOW. Great images but slow. NOT IMPRESSED. But after reviewing this system, I think it's great!

This is a great system, with high quality daytime video and Infrared (IR) for dark places. I installed it at my home, and couldn’t be happier. I recommend downloading the User/Installation manual (see the “Downloads” tab on this page). The system comes with a setup guide. But the manual has a lot of additional useful information.

Here are a few considerations for installing this system:

The LNR100 NVR uses TWO power plugs. One plug provides power to the NVR. The other plug powers the switch (inside the NVR), which powers all four cameras. Ensure you have TWO available power outlets at the NVR’s location.
The NVR must be connected to the Internet, or it will beep at you very loudly over and over... Once you connect it, the beeping will stop. Consider the distance between your Internet router box, and the location you want to place the NVR. You may need to buy an Ethernet cable that will reach.

The cameras are Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) cameras. Each camera has two connections that split out from the Y-shaped cable. One of these is the Ethernet connector. The other is the OPTIONAL power plug. Unlike “wireless” systems (which require a connected power source at each camera’s location), these PoE cameras can receive their power AND send all video along the ONE Ethernet cable. But you still have to run the Ethernet cable for each camera.

60 feet of Ethernet cabling are provided for each camera, which should work for most homes. But you still have to consider the path that each cable will run. If you run a cable over/through/around a lot of walls or objects, it will take up more of your cable length. Measure out each cable’s path to be sure. If you have one or more cameras where 60 feet of cable won’t reach, consider re-locating the NVR to a more centralized spot between all four cameras. This might save you from needing to purchase more Ethernet cabling. But remember, you still need two plugs and an Internet connection for the NVR.

If you have never installed a wired camera system before, running all the cabling does require a lot of effort. But having an uninterruptible signal (as opposed to wireless) with great video quality is well worth the work. This system works very well. I highly recommend it. And no...I do not work for FLIR/Lorex.

Fantastic ! I have three other systems, including one from Lorex. This NVR and the HD camera system was very easy to set up and get running right out of the box. POE Ethernet made the installation effortless. Superb camera image and excellent night vision and detail. Best system I have tried so far.

I looked around for a while before settling on the Lorex system with four night-vision cameras. As I am technologically challenged the installation has taken a bit longer that a few hours that someone quoted; that fella must have worked for NASA.

To be perfectly honest I still only have three of the four cameras installed; hey ya can't rush these things!

I was concerned about noise; it is NOT a problem! After having 'lost' several things from my yard; I thought an electronic watch dog would be a good idea. The system is basically 'plug and pray'.

Once properly set up, the image quality is excellent; the night time images are good. I can view the system on my phone when away.

So far so good!!

The cameras have a great picture and the night vision is superior. Being able to tell the system where to detect and record for motion sensing is a great feature. It allowed us to ignore cars driving down the street, but detect motion in our yard. The C5 cables are very long and give you plenty of options for installation. We have had an issue staying connected through the app, it is the only part that leaves something to be desired. I would also like to have seen a camera system for this amount of money include sound recording.

Coming from an older 720P system and a well known competitor....there is no comparison with these cameras. From the set-up, to the quality and the reliability I don't know how I ever lived without these cameras. Everything seems to flow with the system and the engineers knew how to set-up the system. The picture is vibrant, it has great zoom features and the night vision blows away the competition. Great Job Lorex!!!!

I have purchased other camera systems for my home and business before. I'm very computer savvy so hooking up the other systems was no problem, but it takes lots of time plus the cost of a external server. Plus you better be good with routers. This was very easy and works perfect thur my PC's, phone & tablet. I will be buying one for the home now. This product is well worth the price and I can't believe how easy it was to install. I hate reading manuals on computers so I will print the 178 page manual, but other than that it's a perfect fit for me.

It was very easy to install the system. I just followed the instructions in the box and the setup went without a problem. I waited too long to get the system, took too long to decide. I wish I had these Quality Cameras long time ago, I would have saved a lot of hassle and time. I like the remote access and was easy to use the app on my iPhone. Once I connected the NVR to my router it was as easy as plug and play. The NVR has no wireless connection capability, so one need to know about networking/bridging. I used ethernet cable to connect the NVR to my modem/router combo and HDMI to connect to a display (my TV) and so far no issues with the system running for more than a month.

Easy install. The Setup went smoothly, with some website question reviews. If you want A very easy setup with Quality Cameras then this is for you. Actually I have used the Smartphone App already to see if I left something on my shop porch, it was there and saved me from buying another so it has saved me money already.
