Overall, I have been very happy with the unit. Easy to set up. Cameras all working well. I am having trouble getting the app on my phone, ipad, and pc to work. I've called lorex and every time it is over a 30 min hold time. You can leave your number and they will call back. Annoying though. I have only had the unit for about a month so once I get the app to work I'll be much happier.

We purchased the complete security system and have had nothing but issues with it. Those issues are as follows:
1) We purchased this unit November 2015 it took three months to receive the equipment. We had to call to get an ETA. After being on hold for an hour and ½ we were told that there was no order on file. After providing proof of purchase our order was found and we received the order about two weeks later.
2) We had the cameras professionally installed and found that one of the two cameras were not working. We had to call again to get the cameras replaced. We were on hold for 2 hours, and was immediately disconnected when support picked up. Called back to wait on hold for another 1 and ½ hours.
3) After a month or two we received the replacement cameras, had it installed and found that there was a problem with one of the replacement cameras.
4) Called in early August 2016 to replace the replacement camera. On August 18 we received a ticket number indicating the replacement for the replacement camera would be sent within 10-14 days. On September 15th we had not received the device so we made a phone call (sat on hold for 1 hour and 37 minutes) to be told an email would be sent indicating the tracking number for the shipment of replacement for the replacement camera. As of September 16th an email with the tracking information.
Not happy with the stability of the equipment or lack thereof. Customer support for this company is the worst I’ve ever experienced. I wish we would have done more research before purchasing as I would have preferred to spend more money for better equipment and support.

Our apologies for any difficulty you have experienced. We hope the replacements are working well.

Purchased this system as a home security update. It comes with eight cameras and 16 ports and a monitor. The comments are as follows:
A) Lorex customer service had poor responses as to why there were no cameras for this. Had to purchase additional cameras only to find out that they too were on back order as well. Eventually the system arrived and was professionally installed.
B) Found that there were issues with the hard drives right away. There two installed with a total of 2.67 TB or 89% of the 3 TB stated hard drive capacity. Lorex has yet to respond as to why and what are they going to do about it to bring the capacity up to 3 TB.
C) The set up instructions are poor. Had to download the 180 plus instruction manual which also is poorly written. My HP printer just loved doing this!
D) Found that some cameras were not over writing when the HD's were full. Lorex Tech help could not answer. After spending about an hour with the manual and NVR, found the answer by toggling "all" in some of the pull down menu screens. That solved the problem.
E) The monitor is a brand that is not heavily advertised and for the most part unknown. No set up instructions were included but a set up disk was included. Where was this disk supposed to be used since the NVR had no CD.
F) After much playing around with the NVR and cameras finally got the system up and running. The NVR viewing program is a bit quirky but once its nuances are learned, it apparently is OK.
G) There were several extra unidentified cables included in the package that were eventually identified as SATA connecting cables. These were nowhere mentioned within the manual or pack instructions.
H) The supplied cameras were much different when compared to currently supplied cameras.
I) After the proverbial installation dust has settled the cameras are producing acceptable images. However, because the instructions are not well written, still trying to figure out when the "colorful mode goes dark in between sunset and when the security lights turn on.

Based upon the under capacity 3 TB drive and the poorly written instructions, can only give the system a 2 and that is really pushing it for me. There are 4 more cameras to be hooked up to the NVR and am waiting for the underground cable jacket to be trenched in. Should be sometime this summer. May have to purchase more TB's in order to accommodate the capacity demand caused in part by the unadvertised and in my estimation sneaky way of telling a customer that 2.67 TB equals 3 TB. Sounds to me that they may have been using some common core logic.

Bought HDIP1644MDW, Had other discount cameras, couldn't get good resolution.
Research on line liked what lorex had portrayed on their websit, when ordered I should have asked what cameras they used to obtain their videos, I assume they had higher res. Camera, for the 2meg pixel don't get the same results, although I'm pleased with their package we need better resolution for the police to be convinced the intruder is who we say it is at 100' zoom pixilated why too much for 2meg pixels. 30 feet seems good. Further away not so good can't zoom in on license at 100 feet. Video playback needs better controls. I need better focus at farther distance than have they offer pan tilt zoom @ $500+ need better res. @ 100 feet to capture face and license plate. Good at 30" just not good enough @ 100. 2meg. Cameras have better zoom capabilities. Hope perps. don't read this review.

I also did a lot of research to try to find the right system and also to get the best bang for the buck. I purchased the HDIP1644MDW 8 camera system. I found a you tube video from a consumer showing this system in real world operation. That made my decision very easy. I have set the system up in my home office. Have not yet put the cameras in position, but do have a dome and bullet camera setup so I can see how everything works. I have my system intergrated with my home network. The only thing I can't get to work is port forwarding so I can access from the internet. I have tried calling tech support but the hold times of an hour does not work for me. In all fairness, I tried calling a few days before Christmas so I figured that was the reason for the hold time. Although I left my phone number for a callback, that did not happen. I will call them the week after christmas and see if I can fair any better. Except for that, I give this system 4 and a half stars. Since I can only give 4 or 5 stars, I will give them 5. Also, I ordered this system on cyber monday and was given an exceptionally good deal. You owe it to yourself to go check out the other guys, but you will be back here to order.

I checked around the local video and alarm shops that install video camera systems, after our house got burglarized. Their prizes ranged from $13,000 to $7,000 for a camera system that included two less camera. (To be fair that did include installation.)
I purchased and installed the Lorex HD eight camera, (4 dome and 4 bullet) system for less then a third of the lowest quote.
I now can view 380 degrees around my house at all times, no matter where I'm at.
The only issue I had is getting the Lorex App to work on my iPhone. But after downloading the right App and getting a better internet connection the system works great.

I spent many months researching video security products and happy to have selected this model. The unit worked fine in the home first time after I connected cameras to the DVR and followed the easy instructions to configure the system. I am quite impressed with the High Definition 1080P quality provided by both dome and bullet cameras. However, the remote access program obtained from the Android Play Store for my Smartphone did not work on first try. Nonetheless, Lorex technical support quickly sent me a an updated NetHD Stratus file that worked fine once loaded on my Android device. Very good product and would recommend to anyone.

The Camera's on this system are excellent. I had the Dvr replaced twice after it failed with no problems getting a replacement unit. The only other problem that I have with this unit is the galaxy s6 and iPhone 6 apps don't work with this unit.

We purchased the LNR1612 Security camera system with 12 full HD weatherproof cameras. Let me first say that I was coming from a pretty good Logitech camera system so I don't impress easy. As soon as connected my cameras to the NVR and saw the picture, I was blown away. Real 1080p quality. I love the playback feature especially while away from home. I never had a playback feature on a mobile device. Using the Flir Cloud was also a breeze. I even tried port forwarding the NVR's ip so I can log on remotely through my router in case the Flir cloud was down and that was fairly easy (a little working knowledge of forwarding ports on your router doesn't hurt). I haven't even began to set up motion detection emails and alerts but know it will not be hard; it will just take some time to tweak it to the way I want it. The night vision is awesome. My only hiccup so far is night vision when the room isn't completely dark, I see a white halo-ish ring around the picture. I am hoping I can adjust that but all in all, I love this system.

We purchased LNR200 unit late 2013 & finally took it out of the box to install this March 2015. The NVR's were exchanged twice because it was not able to read the ISP, router codes & some ports not working. Since my warranty had passed I had to pay $150.00 & shipping fee the first time, the other 2 NVR's we did not have to pay. Prior to going live on the internet all the cameras were clear. Once we connected live (4) bullet cameras were not clear at all. Spoke to customer service again & she said we have to pay for new ones and did not give me a price for them. I further explained to her that we purchased another Lorex system prior to the LNR200 and that did not work at all, so we just purchased another new set (LNR200) from Costco. Bought my LNR system from Costco. Most of the work for me was to wire the cameras through out the house and hide the cables. I really like the fact that the LNR400 can handle both directly connected cameras as well as IP cameras with an external POE switch. I was able to connect three cameras to the NVR directly and another one to my home network via an external POE switch supporting 802.3af. It worked!
I don't know about the remote access to the NVR since I chose to use the port forwarding method instead of the DigitalID scan. It worked within seconds! I can watch my home from my iPhone while on the road now... I did use the free DDNS provided by Lorex and it worked within seconds as well.

The IP cameras connected to your home router instead of the NVR need to be configured separately since the NVR doesn't seem to send the time correctly. My network camera was on the wrong time zone from the other cameras. You have to login into the camera and configure the time manually!

Also, the Main video stream is only available on the remote FLIR client. The iPad and the iPhone only access the Sub video stream which is much lower resolution. Don't expect a clear image especially at night on your iPad! Use the computer FLIR client to view the full resolution 1080p Main Stream.

Bought the LNR88TV package direct from Lorex January 30, 2015. Ran into my first snag when trying to link the LNR to my network. Tech support walked me through it quickly although more knowledge of Apple routers would have made things to more smoothly. Hooked everything up in table-top fashion and all eight cameras, the monitor, and the LNR380 worked flawlessly. Toughest part of the installation was getting the shrinkwrap off the rolls of CAT5 wiring. (Here's an install tip: unroll and work the "memory" out of the CAT5 before installing; makes life much easier in the attic/basement.) I'm installing the cameras at the rate of one or two a day to make sure I get the right coverage and test daylight and nighttime reception. So far, only on glitch; one of the cameras works great on a short run of CAT5 but fails when connected to 100+ feet of wire. Probably need a replacement. Sales staff was great. The package comes with four bullet and four dome cameras and I needed six and two. No problem with the swap-out. So far, a terrific addition to the house - great clarity at night and during the day. Remote access via iPhone and iPad is better than expected and very helpful when selecting the best installation sites.

Gave this system to my wife for Christmas and have been enjoying the installation process with great support from the tech people available. This is our first video security system. Suggest trial installation of system and software before setting all cameras and wiring in place. Familiarity with software and camera view intricacies makes this temporary set up a must. Tech support personnel were understandable and superbly qualified in addressing initial software set up issues. Found manuals and web videos sort of weak for my moderate tech skill level. Each call to tech support quickly solved each issue and helped me improve my ability to upgrade my skill & confidence with the system. Found need for couple of new powered (PoE) network hubs to ease camera connections for spread out coverage around my home & yard area. These helped make use of existing network wiring..

I have been in possession of my Lorex LRN100 system for only a week, and so far found the assembly and setup pretty straight forward.
I have chosen this system with the poe IP cameras because of my previous experience with wireless systems that only seemed to work intermittently. I have chalked this up to possible interference with the other radios in my home eg; wi-fi, telephone system, blue tooth, HDMI extender, and who knows what else. Other considerations for my choice is that wireless is not truly wireless due to having to run power wires anyway, and I am more familiar with 48x wiring over BNC coax.
I have all the cameras connected, but only one permanently installed outside due to the current sub-zero weather. I find the 1080p display very good on my local VGA display, and also quite good on my remote iPad. As of yet, I have not found the ‘FLIR Cloud Client icon’ on my PC for a PC remote connection.
As I get further along with this install, I will add more to this review, but for now I am totally satisfied.

We purchased a HD IP Camera System for home surveillance and wildlife viewing. The cameras have superb viewing during daylight and decent viewing at night using infrared light.

Running network wires was by far the most difficult part of the installation. Pick a location for the network video recorder on an interior wall, as close to the center of the house as possible. Interior walls normally do not have insulation within and offer more overhead room in the attic. I used electrical tape to fasten all 8 network wires to a pull rope, and pulled from the attic down into the opening I cut in the sheet rock (against stud). I staggered the ends of the wires to make the bundle as slender as possible.

Carefully locate cameras for best viewing and ease of installation. I used the netHD Stratus software for my android phone to aid in optimizing the viewing area. Point the cameras down so that IR light doesn't reflect back into camera lens after dark.

Hooking up the cable modem, router, network video recorder was easy. Getting the remote viewing software working was a bit challenging. In the router, I created 3 rules to forward ports 80, 8000, and 1025. You must also fill out the warranty and create the ddns on the Lorex website.

Lorex makes great products with many great features. Lorex keep up the great work.

We chose this system because of the HD quality and the fact that it was POE! only one wire to run and was all digital vs analog.
It was very hard to find this system no one had it in stock.
We had it installed and the system worked on the first try, I don't know why I thought it wouldn't? The picture was very clear, and at night the spot that the lED's light up is very far away from the camera.
My only issue with this system was the next morning 3 of my 4 cameras were fogged with condensate? No rain nothing. it was on the inside, not outside. We have to return them now and get new ones but other than that the system is very good.
Note: the DVR fan is loud and we have this thing sitting under our 60 plasma tv so its annoying. I need to move it the cabinet below to reduce the fan noise.
I have not been able to get the remote app to work yet. It is on my home network , but I have yet to figure out the app issue.
Hopefully once the new cameras arrive all will be ok.
If you can find one of these systems I say go for it! better than I expected.

I received my order and was immediately impressed by how well it was packaged... in fact, some stuff like the Ethernet cable was a little too well packed and took FOREVER to unwrap all 8 cables without cutting the cables. Next, I plugged them all in to make sure it all worked... that's when I noticed two issues: (1) The Lorex LED TV screen was completely messed up and seemed cheaply built (2) One of the dome cameras was extremely blurry (and no, the film was not on it). I called up Lorex and told them about the TV being messed up and that after seeing the TV quality, I didn't want it exchanged. They fully understood and refunded me $200 off the package price. Also, they immediately sent me a new dome camera and I didn't have to wait until they received mine first. Definitely TOP NOTCH customer service.

Overall, the system is decent (see comments on picture quality below) and features are good.

I love the customer service (minus the 10-25 min wait times... I just put my phone down and leave it on speaker and do other tasks).

The video quality is just okay. I bought the latest and greatest they had and put it on a brand new 32" LG 1080p LED TV.... and I would have thought with 1080p WIRED cameras, the picture quality would have been like looking through my GoPro camera.... but it's far from that. Maybe my expectations were just too high since I'm an IT guy and know what 1080p should truly look like in a decent camera. One quick example: one of my cameras sit about 20' from a very, very large wall clock above our fireplace mantle. You can tell the time in the video, but it's not crisp at all... the numbers are a little blurry and anything in the shadows further away is obscured.

My huge box arrived Monday 9 cameras, 1 NVR, ! PoE switch and a CD. THe set up was fairly straight forward but I did need some help getting ports talking. I have a static IP vs Dynamic from my ISP. Everything seems to work fine. cameras are a breeze to hookup and seem fairly robust. Low /no light viewing is amazing at short distance - will need further testing beyond a dark room which is clearly visible in B&W with lots of detail. Little disappointed that the dome cameras are not PTZ but I guess I was wishful thinking (Ill try those soon). Best part so far (I've only been up for 4 hours) was the tech support people. I spoke to two separate agents and they were both extremely patient, knowledgable and skilled at getting me online. They were the best CSR's I have ever encountered. Like the system, good picture quality but when you something goes wrong you better be a EE like myself to try to resolve on your own. Still have not resolved my issue..everything works great but after not viewing the cameras remotely with either the PC software or the IOS app for a couple of hours you can't connect to the NVR remotely. Once you reboot the system (NVR), all is well and you can view remotely as it should. Called technical support, on hold for 15 mins, then the guys says he can help me, and click... disconnected. Called back, spent another 15 mins on the phone, talked with a guy I could not understand, told me to hold on after every question (so he could check his manual as they must have hired him off the street. No luck, all he wanted me to do is reset to back if it does not fix it. After spending 2k on a system, I would look very hard at another brand. I am just before boxing mine back up and sending back.. Check for updates and all you get is an error saying can't connect to FTP server. Told the guys off the street from india this and his response "well you just bought it so it has the latest firmware"...really these people don't know how engineering works obviously.

After spending many hours looking into a good camera security system, I decided to buy the Lorex IP Camera system with an NVR recorder. Installation was quite easy. After completing the installation, I contacted Lorex technical support and they helped me set up the system completely. The technician spent over an hour and a half on the phone with me, helping me configure my system to my cell phone and tablet. The Lorex system gives a clear picture and is easy to access. The service guy on the phone was fantastic. The best thing was the customer service i received. Before i bought the cameras and after, they answered all my questions and concerns. I did not purchase my system directly from Lorex, I purchased it over the Internet and the shipper sent it snail mail so took about two weeks to get.After reading the instructions it seemed pretty simple and easy to hook up. the nvr and the cameras setup to a monitor I found that one of the cameras would only show black and white.I continued to set the system up through my computer and my mobile phone. I had multiple problems could not get them to work. Finally after two days of working with it I contacted customer service the lady was very helpful and walk me through it I finally got online on my computer through the DDNS net. What I did not know it was that I could still not hook up to see my camera's away from home. After a little research I found out that the major problem with not being able to get my cameras over the internet while I was away from home what's that my internet service provider, Suddenlink, blocks port 80.after I reconfigured NVR and my router with a different port number it appears to be working perfectly.Lorex has sent me an email with instructions on returning the bad camera . I think it will be a great system after I finish getting a few more bugs worked out and well worth the money that I paid

I brought this system with 4 bullet HD cameras and 2 dome HD cameras in Costco. The bundle was very good and easy to install. After all the necessary mounting and cabling, all I have to do is plug in all the CAT 5 cables and the DVR recognize it after 30 seconds. The picture is very clear, and the angle of view (75 degress) is actually very wide on each camera. The only complaint I have is that the dome cameras have to be mounted on the ceiling. Some manufactures' dome cameras can be mounted on the wall, but for Lorex, my dome cameras will give you an upside down picture if you do not mount them on the ceiling, I even called tech support and they said I can not rotate the picture via the DVR or software, so that was a shame. Other than that the system was very nice.

I purchased an eight camera, high definition, IP system. The most difficult part of the installation was running the included cat 5 cable to all of the required locations crawling through the attic. Based on cautions I saw posted on the noise level generated by the server, I installed the server in a large double closet adjacent to a bedroom. The mouse and monitor were installed in the bedroom for ease of use and required my purchase of a 30 foot HDMI cable and a 36 foot powered USB extender. After all connections were made and system powered up, everything worked perfectly. The daytime color detail is incredible and the nighttime black and white is very good. The IR cameras reach far out for a good picture in total darkness. After several days of operation and a rain storm, I had one camera develop condensation on the inside lenses. I created a ticket online and the next day Lorex Support said they were sending me a replacement camera that would arrive in 7 or 8 days. Replacement camera arrived per schedule and system is back to 100%. The configuration of the system took a little time including getting familiar with the software and installing remote software for inside the LAN and from the WAN but not unexpected. I did struggle getting the remote connection to work from the WAN but did get it to work once I configured the primary & secondary DNS server in my Lorex server to my local LAN gateway (i.e. in my router). Great value!

Equipment seems robust and solid. Camera/picture quality on 1080p monitor was very good. Excellent night vision capabilities. Fan noise of NVR was not too bad - less than my home DVR for the TV. Ipad/Iphone apps are good, but you need to know which app works for this particular model - I got confused initially on which app to download. Their website has a table which will show you the correct one. Unless you are good with networking and routers, the port fowarding needed to get the system to be viewed remotely is slightly confusing - not much support for Mac systems, but I did get it done on my own. Still getting the system all set-up as their are lots of options to consider. Haven't tried customer service yet.

I?ve had my Lorex LNR282C6B system for 2 weeks now. I?m pleased to say the picture quality is great. The install was very easy with only the one Cat5 cable to run to each camera. The cameras are plug and play, each one coming up minutes after it was plug into the NVR. One of the features I like, is the record on motion with the ability to frame off the area of the camera you wish to trigger the recording. Being able to log into the system remotely via a laptop or smart phone is also an awesome feature.
Since I installed the system, I?ve recommended the system to 3 of my friends.

Camera quality, and construction are very nice, Power over Ethernet eliminates running separate video and power. 100' of Cat5e is more than enough cable for most applications and can be extended to 300'. (just be careful with the jacks!, lil tape on the ends solves that when running the wire thru walls)

Superb video quality in both day and night. Extremely easy to set up, included setup wizards do all the work for you (to configure router/modem) so you can view cameras via Internet or Mobile device.

Very easy to install.

Easily upgrade HD capacity, and they include SATA cable and mounting accessories for 2nd HD.

Very easy to administer the system directly from NVR or via PC client software or via internet. In fact the PC client and Internet versions are easier than the NVR interface.

Dome cameras can not be wall mounted, well you can if you don't mind upside down video, no matter how you configure the camera the picture will be upside down. However this was solved by purchasing a dome camera "L" bracket from a 3rd Party.

No PTZ cameras can be installed on this system.

NVR Fan noise is very loud. I thought I wouldn't mind it in my office... but its slightly annoying.

Did not like that the cameras did not come with a waterproof connection. Solved by purchasing small plastic TELCO enclosures.

Also to note:
Unlike others I found Lorex Customer service to be fine.. Yes at times they took longer than average to answer some of my questions but they did solve my problems and addressed issues. (this system was originally offered with a 32" TV/monitor but was changed the weekend I ordered it to a 27" monitor. I was offered a substantial credit for my inconvenience added to the 18% off made it an EXCELLENT deal!)

I really don't know why the haters are hating on this product. The picture quality is great, the camera set-up is easy, and the price point is reasonable for the equipment received. 100 feet of CAT5 cable was more than what I needed to make all my connections, in fact in most areas I have extra cable coiled up resting in walls and drop ceilings.

Set-up over my Wi-Fi was a snap. Setting the system up to view from iPhone and other mobile devices was a bit more challenging. It required me to call their tech service guys, which by the way were awesome. I gave them permission to take over my system and they configured everything for me while I watched on my screen, all the time I asked questions so I would have a better understanding of what the problem was for the future. BTY - It seemed my VoIP (second router) was not detected by the port forwarding wizard, it was configured manually and everything worked fine after.

Email notifications were a challenge as well. Not very good documentation on this set-up. Since I had tech support on the phone, they assisted with that as well. I created a special email account, dedicated to this alerting, and then added that account to my iPhone, bam! Getting the alerts when motion is detected from my dedicated email address.

Now the marginal things I have noticed about the system.

1-the video feed isn't "real time", there is a slight delay. I noticed this when setting up the camera(s) and checking angles using my iPhone. I would move the camera, several seconds would pass and then the image would move on my iPhone - not good!

2- Also, when using the motion detectors, the same situation would occur. Motion would be activated and the video images captured would reveal nothing. In other words, the image was taken after the object passed through and activated the motion sensor.

3- The motion sensors appear to be very sensitive, even at the lowest setting, which lead to a lot of false alarms.

4- Not sure why this happens, but on occasion the various video feeds would freeze and then start again after a second or two.

I have to call tech support about these issues; there might be a system weak I'm missing. I intended to call them after assembling a list of items to discuss.

All-in-all, I would rate this packaged security product 5 stars. It's better than the alternative, no security at all.

Installation of IP Camera System is very simple, until it comes to the network setup. Running the single Cat5e cable and attaching the cameras to the overhang couldn't be simpler. I did find a limitation with the dome cameras as to being able to aim up, this could be an advantage with the bullet type camera. Connecting Cat5 cable to NVR and setting up the monitor and router is simplified by the supplied cables. Following the step-by-step network connection using the provided guide is not too bad but a little confusing at certain steps. Remote access via iPhone is the next challenge, I will comments on my experience with that next.

It is difficult to rate this product because although I have images on the local monitor, I have still not been able to get images across my home network. If you have a complex home network setup, you will be required to add another level complexity with this system. Unless you are a computer expert you will have to rely on customer support, which is very painful.

*Wait time for customer support. It is the most insane of any company I have ever run across. The last time I called the message said they would hold my place in line and return the call within thirty minutes. They called me back 7 HOURS later and then they hung up on me in the middle of fixing the problem and didn't call back!
* Networking required port forwarding, which can be lost if you have to reset your router or power failure.
*Good image but not 1080
*Fan noise is loud on the NVR, but this was known ahead of time because of the Lorex video and other reviews. One way to deal with this is to to run VGA over Ethernet and keep the NVR in a secure location, which is actually what you should do. If a semi-smart intruder sees the security system, they will just steal the NVR. The problem is the mouse which is used to configure the system. If you have a mobile device like an ipad that can connect to your home network, you should be able to stream the images, which means that you can eliminate a physical connection to the monitor.

This system is truly plug-and-play. The system is easy to set-up via following the instruations provided. I am still in the process of doing the beta-testing to work out any kinks prior to final installation. I was able to identify one bad night vision of the bullet type camerat. I have yet to contact the technical support team for online issue. I will need their help in getting the unit to be able to view online from a separate network. However, before I contact them I like to attempt this myself first. Otherwise, I recommend this sytem since it is a better value when compared to other comparable system.

I have had problems with my system. Support finally replaced the touch screen which didn't work but I had to pay 28.00 to return the old one. The new one doesn't work well either as a touch screen so I am disappointed. One of the cameras stopped working and then worked again for a week then stopped again so I have to call support once again. Overall, I am very disappointed in this system. The only reason I don't return it is I paid $350.00 to have the outside cameras installed. Support isn't very supportive and doesn't listen to me and it's a pain to look up your sales receipt every time you need support.

I received my unit quickly and was pleased with how easy it was to set-up. The Network configuration can be a bit tricky but I had the entire system up and running within an hour or so. The client software is much easier to use than operating the system using the mouse. I cant seem to get the settings right for viewing on my android phone/tablet so I plan on calling tech support. So far so good. I will update my review once I've had more time with the system.

The cameras are very easy to set up. The quality of the cameras are sharp during the daylight (really nice). The cameras work as well in the night as it is during the daytime. Because the surrounding of my have do not have much light, the IR in the cameras kick in and you can see everything from the outside on your monitor/TV. The only problem I had with this system is the connectivity after connecting the DVR through my router to view it on my Iphone. I called up tech support and the wait was very long. I showed this system to my friends and they were amazed at how good the quality of the pictures were.

Ordered the LNR200 Security Camera w/NVR. All the Cameras worked but the HDMI out on the NVR was bad. So I tried to contact tech support. I was on hold for 45min then it sad transferring now, I heard a phone ringing and was waiting for a tech to pick up 20 min later, Nothing!!! so I hung up. So over an hour and No Tech Support. So I called they said we have a backdoor # for Lorex Tech Support they did answer in 3min and Costco was on the phone to here the conversation. Almost forgot my friend got a system at Home Depot he installed if it said 720P Well the crooks came back to the front door the camera was 6 feet away. You couldn't make out the persons face. Same thing with the camera over the driveway it was so blurry you could not read the word California that was in large print, but we guessed what it said. So the jury is still out on there systems.

I got this full HD network camera system. I like it. The picture is clear and using powered Cat 5 cables that make installation much easier. The Lorex Quick Networking Guide is a very good tool to help with the system setup. The recorder was little noisy. The only problem I had is the quality of your custom services. First of all, it took me long time to dial in. Secondly, the line was off when a first level representative passes the line to a higher level support after he tried over 10 minutes and never called back.

Setup is relatively straight-forward. The NVR recognizes and displays the cameras about 30 seconds after connection. I had little trouble connecting the NVR to my local computer network following the instructions for setting up my router. I use Macs, not Windows PCs. There is a plugin for the Safari browser that is super easy to install and makes either local or remote viewing of the Lorex cameras very easy. It's probably easier setting up the Safari plugin than installing the Lorex software in Windows! I was also able to get remote viewing setup on iPhone and iPad, using the Lorex NetHD and NetHD Plus apps from iTunes. This is relatively easy if one follows the instructions on the Quick Start Guides that come with the system. The only problem was that after setting up the apps, the first time I tried to go to "Live View", both my iPhone and iPad gave me "Insufficient Memory" warnings. But, once I left the app and opened it again, the live camera views came up fine. Noise is not an issue for me. Fan noise is equivalent to my computer gear -- no better or worse."

I have only had this product for 4 days and I am still deciding on final installation options, however, I did connect all of the cameras. I am very impressed with the clarity of the daytime images and how much can be seen in basically total darkness. One surprise so far - I am going to need to be very careful on outdoor placement. My experiments so far have demonstrated that the cameras will "focus" on close in leaves. I believe this system will provide exactly what I expected.

Sadly, I really wanted to keep this but the fan noise is unacceptable in the location that I am able to put it (my office). I have several computers in the room and other electronic equipment, and this DVR is louder than all the other electronics I have COMBINED. It's just unacceptable. Maybe if you have a place you can put it where noise isn't an issue it would work for you.. but the fan noise was just too much to take 24/7.

Bought, tested with 4 connected cameras. But I am confuse if it will record and play back all 8 channel in HD 1080P @ 30 FPS (240FPS) per website's advertised or just 15 FPS (120 FPS) per User's Manual. Which one is correct? The picture quality is great but was unable to use it as a standalone IP camera likes the Qsee IP camera without NVR. Look great but not sure if frame rate drop if I plan to populate 4 more camera. If anyone know, please verify. Thanks

This seems to be a very powerful system. It's new, so I don't use all of its functions as yet. The Cameras are 1080p, but I like that I can switch to 720p, since that's my monitor capacity. By the way, you have to match the Camera to your Monitor, otherwise your picture looks choppy. You can do this in the Record section of the Menu. The set-up was easy, all you're running is the Ethernet cable from the Cameras to the Recorder. The Cameras are small enough, they almost look inconspicuous. If more variety of Cameras were offered, it would be nice. The Recorder (NVR) does have a hum, like any other recorders or computers, but not loud enough to be irritating. The unit is not any bigger than a Blu-Ray player. The unit does come with a Remote Control, though I'm not sure what its function is since the unit also comes with a mouse and I use it for everything. I could write more about it, but I don't think Lorex will give me that much space. All-in-all, this system is great. It has set-ups galore. It seems like Lorex put everything they had (Technology) into this system. You definately can't go wrong.

My order was delivered quickly (2 days). Instructions for installation are very clear. Camera's resolutions are great (very clear picture). Online setup was easy and it's great. You probably can't put the recorder in a sleeping room, because of the fan noise but it is like most computers. Lorex customer service was helpfull for a question I had. Everything works as I expected.
