The HDIP88W is a great product. All cameras were added to network with a Lorex ACCDPS282B PoE switch and the NVR detected all cameras immediately. The NVR is easy to use an configuration was straight forward. Very pleased with this product and highly recommend!!

so by any stretch of imagination I 1st want to say iam no expert on video cameras or survalince systems. what I will say is that even though I'm not licened in electric, plumbing, construction, or what ever task it takes to get the job done ive been doing most of my projects for the last 35 years. I feel that most of the times I know more than the professionals or at least equal to them. so when it came time to buy a camera system I took my time and did my home work and came up with the company lorex. for me my final choice was that I realized I'm not protecting the pentagon. so with that said I purchased my system a few weeks ago. I went with a wired system. for me I guess I'm old fashioned and I'm just not comfortable with wireless. the system came pretty fast and I jumped right in and installed it. I was in no rush so after work I would install a camera or two. before I knew it I was done. I had to call tech support a couple of times but other than waiting on hold for a long time they were able to walk me threw my problems. I still have to get used to the dvr but in time ill get it. so over all I'm very happy with the ease of installation and the quality of the picture.

The install was simple and strait forward. I purchased a PoE switch and terminated all the lines in my garage. Then I ran one 1GB line to my office where my NVR lives from my switch. The NVR picked up all my cameras with no problems. I can record about 4 days on 1TB drive. I will be installing dual 6TB drives (12TB Total) soon now that Lorex tech support helped me work out some bugs. I ran into a problem extracting recordings from FLIR Cloud client to AVI or DAV. The problem was when motion detection is enabled, the recording saved to .AVI only saves the first 30 seconds to 2 minutes of video no matter how much video you selected. I have tried saving from 1 minute to 30 minute videos with the same problem. Lorex support suggested and assisted turning off motion detection. Bingo, that solved the problem right away. They said it was related to caching overloading problems. I am fine with that now that I can extract the correct amount of time of recording. I wouldn't let this deter me from purchasing this system again. The video quality is excellent and recording playback quality is excellent as well. Best of all, the FLIR Cloud setup is an easy setup for monitoring, playback, and recording from any remote device such as your computer, smart phone, or tablet.

The NVR IP system is awesome. wired the cameras, connected them and they scanned in right away. No installation issues. I also called LOREX for support and questions four times. I was able to get through within 10 minutes each time except one. Tech support also answered all my questions and offered additional information that helped us connect FLIR and our Iphones and IPADS

System manual was easy to read and helped us learn the system as well

I was skeptical of purchasing after reading so many negative reviews, especially regarding the iPhone/iPad apps as that is my major requirement. If they did not have a return period to try it out, I probably wouldn't have ordered.

I was very pleasantly surprised.

Great:
1. It is super easy to set up. Basically turn it on, plug it in, download the app, and scan the QRcode to connect your phone to it. It just worked.
2. The camera picture quality is great. (HD dome cameras)
3. The iPhone app is pleasantly easy to use and has yet to crash, unlike all the reviews that state otherwise.

So-so:
1. The NVR fan is indeed rather loud. Though it is in my basement in a closet so not a problem. Don't put it in your bedroom! Would be nice if this were a variable speed fan based on actual temperature.
2. Really only supports IE as the browser, despite the claims. Using other browsers causes an error trying to load a non-existent page.
3. iPhone app could be a little more user-friendly by defaulting to the last view setup. You'll need to re-add the cameras each time or setup a 'favorite'. Only a few clicks but annoying.

Now...I am only using basic features (continuous recording) at the moment. I'll update when I start using motion detection, etc. as the reviews for those features are also less than stellar.

Loud NVR FAN noise, dome camera is only 1 mega pixel so concern about overall quality regardless if it is HD or not, not satisfied while reaching out to lorex sales and tech support since take too much time and long hold up to an 30 minutes. Also, not happy with customer paying shipping for returns. Also, tried one camera but not thrilled with quality in day and night, ok picture quality.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you are not satisfied with your purchase and for the longer than usual wait time on the phone. We are experiencing a higher than usual volume of calls.

Recently purchased a brand new home which we had wired for 8 POE cameras. After much research and thought we decided to give this system a try. Connecting the system was fairly easy and user friendly but to get it completely up and running with the iOS app and all took some help from a tech savy friend. Ideally it should be a little simpler but overall very pleased with the image quality especially in daylight.

I have only had this product for a few days and I am still deciding on final installation options, however, I did connect all of the cameras. I am very impressed with the clarity of the daytime images and how much can be seen in basically total darkness. One surprise so far - I am going to need to be very careful on outdoor placement. My experiments so far have demonstrated that the cameras will "focus" on close in leaves. I believe this system will provide exactly what I expected.

I bought the four camera version of this DVR first. It far exceeded the expectations of my wife and I so we almost immediately wanted more cameras. We ended up with the eight camera system and could not be happier. It is very nice if you need to visually identify someone and have the police tell you this is the finest security system they have ever seen. I also have had other contractors in house for repairs and I show them the system (most times to quietly show them they are being watched while they complete work for me) and have them say "wow that's quality you only see in professional systems. I installed this myself very easily, minus running cable in the attic in Florida which wasn't fun, with no problems. It was plug and play as described. If you need a security system feel safe buying this system. You will not be sorry. Customer service could have shorter wait times but they solve any problems when you get through.

Just received the product a few weeks ago and I've been testing it out with a couple of cameras. Eventually this unit and all 8 cameras will get installed in a new home we're building in Payson, AZ. So far, I must say that I'm very impressed with both the quality of the cameras as well as the server/NVR. I was also pleasantly surprised because, when the unit showed up, it's an obviously upgraded unit from what I thought I had purchased. The specs call for a 1 TB HD for storing recorded videos while my unit came with a 2 TB drive. Additionally, the unit shown includes a separate router for the extra cameras. The unit received can handle 8 cameras directly with room for an additional 8 cameras should I decide to add them. (Those additional 8 cameras must attach to a separate router which are then IP connected to the NVR.) The quality of the HD video from the cameras is outstanding!

The only issue I've got is with the FLIR Cloud software running on a Mac. (I don't know if the Windows version has the same problem.) Every time I select a camera in FLIR Cloud and try to set a record schedule, the program crashes. (The NVR continues to work just fine.) I can set up record schedules either directly on the NVR or via the iPhone app, so it's not a deal breaker, but I would like to see this get fixed. With that said, I've been working with tech support on resolving the issue.

Speaking of the iPhone app - all I can say is that it's fantastic. Even with low bandwidth conditions (such as a Sprint 3G connection in the middle of a small town) I get reasonably good frame rates while monitoring the cameras. Well done! Setting up the DDNS to make the iPhone app work is a tad tricky if you don't have some networking skills, but in the end I got it to work without too much difficulty. (Part of the problem is that the service requires that port forwarding be activated on the router. It's impossible for the company to provide detailed instructions for every type of router out there so you need to rely on your router's manual to figure out how to set that up.)

All told, I'm very happy with the product so far. I'll try to update this in a few months after it's been installed at the new house. I look forward to using this product in the future.

We started investing in security cameras 10 years ago. We have always relied on Lorex systems. This system gives us the upgrade and consistent monitoring we need. We added 2 to PTZ cameras which made our new system complete. Love the reliablilty. I have not had any problems installing the system and the cables supplied with this system fulfill our needs. We have a large corner propertycamera locations need to be thought through but once approriate locations are made it was an easy install. Ran the wires through the attice to a central pt in our house.
I would recommend this product to my family and friends. In fact my older system still works and my daughter is now using it at her house.

Very good video quality and works well when all you need is a system that records in HD continuously.

Think twice if you want seamless mobile viewing, ability to find motion events of interest ir integration with other ONVIF standard cameras -- this functionality is advertised but nearly unusable.

So far 5+ hours on the phone with support and below are the facts after speaking with several tech support people.

Motion detection sensitivity and area selection has been disabled in the firmware of the dvr. Default settings will treat the slightest changes as motion and are therefore useless. No word on if this will be added back in or when. However, features and manual reference a set of settings which simply don't exist and tech support confirmed it.

Manual talks about Firefox, chrome and IE support -- lies. Only IE works and only if you add the ip to compatibility list under settings (something that isn't mentioned anywheres)

NVR interface to find motion events is so clunky you should just pretend it doesn't exist.

If you have other (expensive or not) up cameras that support latest ONVIF 2 standards, they will only be picked up for continuous recording. All other features such as motion detection simply aren't supported.

Iphone app is so so. Live view will not show some cameras even though nvr shows them. Iphone 6 plus is not well supported, video takes up 1/3 the size of the screen it's supposed to making it unusable. Also annoying is that cameras don't load when you open the app -- requiring you to add them back in each time you launch it.

I know FLIR quality and reputation, and based my purchase on it along with advertised functions and features described in the manual. Turned out to be a bad call. Will likely be returning this.

Daylight video very good. Night video grainy but acceptable. Easy to set up and connect master unit and android version 4.0 remote Asus tablet but having trouble with android version 2.3 smart phone. Very long wait for customer support but when I finally reached level 2 support I received excellent call back and answers to my questions from tech named Juan. Have only had unit hooked up for 2 days and customer support is obtaining cell phone equivalent to mine to trouble shoot why I am having above with the cell phone connection problem. The main unit has at least 2 fans and is noisy so I placed unit directly on carpet floor under TV monitor. Today I have been controlling unit from my wifi connected Widows8 notebook with excellent 1080p video.

All in all, I am extremely happy with this system; was able to get it up and running within 1/2 hour! I have researched home camera systems for a number of years and before this one, have not found one that has the ease of installation with the POE, specifications and price. The only challenge with the installation was manually setting up the port forwarding on my router. However, the manuals were clear and I was able to get all done very easily. Also, the mobile programs for iPhone and iPad have worked well. The picture quality is amazing!

The DVR/NVR fan can be quite loud. It's pretty constant. Definitely do not put this in your bedroom. That's my only real complaint about this DVR system. The system comes with a mouse, all the cords, even an HDMI cord to hook it up. The system works pretty well. Lorex definitely tried to make the process of port forwarding the router easier. I commend them on their efforts. It still was a bit of a pain for me. I like the expandability of the system to 8 cameras and the fact that only 1 wire is used to connect the cameras. I would recommend it but put the DVR in a cabinet to muffle the fan.

I ordered in Costco, delivered on time. Very nice picture as expected, wide angle cameras very nice option. Installation somewhat easy except remote viewing I have not been able to make it work, I have to say that they have the worst customer service you can deal with, waiting time on the phone 2 to 3 hours and sometimes they don't speak understandable English so that only make matters worst. The last time I made a connection after 2-1/2 hours the tech disconnected me and never called back. Very disappointing. So far the tech department have not been able to solve the issue, I still can't see my cameras from remote area away from home, I hope that I can get a hold of some one one day and get them to work other wise well return unit to the store. The fan makes lots of noise more like a refrigerator in the kitchen, hope they fix that problem and contact all of us for upgrade. I don't give 5 stars because of tech. service so bad and the noise, otherwise is a very nice system.

Out-of-the-box setup was easy. Cameras are functioning as advertised, although it takes 5-10 seconds for them to switch between IR/night and color/day modes. However, if you want to access video or snapshots over a network -- even a high-speed intranet -- at present their less-than-friendly software does not support resolutions higher than 4CIF! So you would have to sit in front of the NVR itself, with just a mouse and remote control, to monitor in HD. An absurd shortcoming that I hope will be corrected soon!

JUST INSTALLED THIS SYSTEM AND WE LOVE IT! BRIGHT , CLEAR PICTURE AND EASY SETUP INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. WE PLAN TO ADD MORE CAMERAS SO THAT WE CAN COVER THE 10 ACRES WE HAVE. THE TECH SUPPORT WAS VERY COURTEOUS .IT GIVES US SUCH PEACE OF MIND TO BE ABLE TO CHECK EVERYTHING WHILE WE ARE AWAY.SO EASY TO SET UP MY 14 YEAR OLD GRANDSON DID IT.

The cameras are very easy to set up. The quality of the cameras are sharp during the daylight (really nice). The cameras work as well in the night as it is during the daytime. Because the surrounding of my have do not have much light, the IR in the cameras kick in and you can see everything from the outside on your monitor/TV. The only problem I had with this system is the connectivity after connecting the DVR through my router to view it on my Iphone. I called up tech support and the wait was very long. I showed this system to my friends and they were amazed at how good the quality of the pictures were.

Ordered the LNR200 Security Camera w/NVR. All the Cameras worked but the HDMI out on the NVR was bad. So I tried to contact tech support. I was on hold for 45min then it sad transferring now, I heard a phone ringing and was waiting for a tech to pick up 20 min later, Nothing!!! so I hung up. So over an hour and No Tech Support. So I called Costco.com they said we have a backdoor # for Lorex Tech Support they did answer in 3min and Costco was on the phone to here the conversation. Almost forgot my friend got a system at Home Depot he installed if it said 720P Well the crooks came back to the front door the camera was 6 feet away. You couldn't make out the persons face. Same thing with the camera over the driveway it was so blurry you could not read the word California that was in large print, but we guessed what it said. So the jury is still out on there systems.

I got this full HD network camera system. I like it. The picture is clear and using powered Cat 5 cables that make installation much easier. The Lorex Quick Networking Guide is a very good tool to help with the system setup. The recorder was little noisy. The only problem I had is the quality of your custom services. First of all, it took me long time to dial in. Secondly, the line was off when a first level representative passes the line to a higher level support after he tried over 10 minutes and never called back.

I have only had this product for 4 days and I am still deciding on final installation options, however, I did connect all of the cameras.
