2K security monitoring

High quality 2K recording resolution

Seven cameras in this security system are capable of capturing video at 2K (4 megapixel) resolution - twice that of HD 1080p. Faces, or even license plates, are clearer with 2K resolution. The included NVR also records HD 1080p footage at an amazing 30 frames per second (FPS), resulting in smooth on-screen movement that doesn't miss a beat. Each camera also utilizes 3D digital noise reduction (DNR) for an added level of clarity, day and night.

2K (4 megapixel) network security monitoring

2K - the next generation of security monitoring

Your 2K security cameras will provide you with a better chance to capture details you need thanks to their crisp images and amazing digital zooms. They can record at a 2688 x 1520 pixel ratio - twice the size of 1080p (1920 x 1080). It is important to note that a 2K security camera does not require a 2K capable television or monitor. The additional resolution will simply be there for you if an incident should occur. This is especially useful if you need to zoom into the distance.

Don't miss the details you need with color night vision

The importance of having a camera that can keep a watchful eye on your property during the night can?t be stressed enough. This is why Lorex by FLIR has always been proud to offer cutting-edge night vision on our security cameras. The LNB4321B bullet security camera is no exception. In fact, this camera even goes one step further with night vision in full color. With this feature you will receive:

  • Full color video, even in low-light conditions. *
  • An additional level of detail (such as color of clothes or cars).
  • A greater level of contrast for easier detection and recognition of people and objects.

*It is important to note that ambient lighting is needed for full color night vision. If the lighting conditions drop too low the image will switch to black and white infrared to ensure maximum quality night vision (see documentation for details).

I decided to upgrade to this system because of the 2K video. The older cameras didn't quite make out someone's face. So this change helped in getting some recognition. I have been using this system for about a month now. I have noticed that it was easy to set up and the system picked up on the cameras very easy. The clarity on the picture is great. As for the Pros of the system I have to say that it was very easy to set up. Using only an Ethernet Cable, the system only uses 1 type of cable for everything. This type of cable makes for a cleaner look. The cameras are clear and high def. The software on the system is easy and innovative. As for the night vision cameras, they are amazing with how much detail they capture at night. As for the PTZ cameras, the clarity during the day are amazing. For the Cons, which I have found very few, are the PTZ cameras that don't have night vision. This is a disadvantage if someone where to break in to the house during the night. It will not record anything if there is any kind of darkness. You would have to leave your lights on to capture anything. That is really my only complaint as of yet. I would have liked for the PTZ cameras to be able to see at night. I am giving the system 4 out of 5 stars because of the PTZ cameras. It was assumed that these cameras could see at night. Not knowing this before purchasing this system was a let down. If you want to see at night, I would recommend that you purchase the cameras that have some kind of night vision, otherwise you will not see anything.

I have used Lorex for several years now and highly recommend them. I mostly ordered this for the audio and color night vision. I am still looking for a good Bullet style camera with audio. I only hooked up 4 of the 8 cameras. I spaced them from the older cameras but pointed at the same area. and hooked them up using HDMI #1 for my older cameras and HDMI # 2 for the new ones on my TV monitor. The day time view was awesome. I was able to switch back and forth between the old and new and compare cameras. I have ample street lights and house lights but the color vision totally went away and only had the normal night vision. The quality of the night vision was not as good as my old cameras. I hope when they view the retruned NVR they will see what I am talking about. At that point I decided to return the system. Do I suggest Lorex ? Absolutlely. Lorex cameras are good and it takes time to find the best camera for your situation. As I said earlier I am still looking to find a good bullet camera with audio. Now on the down side. All this and the online order shows that they have not shipped this to me yet. Which means returning it was an issue. I had to call in and they manully sent me a return label I returned it and they received it on 9/12 But there system does not show it. So getting credit to my card has not been done. I hope to hear from them soon about the credit of the returned items. So again yes I would by Lorex and in fact I have ordered and received the new product I ordered yesterday.

The camera's are great and the system was easy to install. Great picture quality. There is a learning curve to getting the software to do what you want it to. The real problem is if you plan on keeping it backed up you will need huge amount of storage ability. I have not found an economical way to save the data for a long time.

I needed to find a hybrid solution of sorts that would allow for remote monitoring as well as full archival of footage without requiring constant upload to a CVR like my Dropcams. Although this system does everything that it promises, the process is very clunky and lacking in many of the features I was used to with my Dropcams.

** The Pros **
- The Hardware is solid... I've installed individual cameras that cost almost as much as this entire package and the quality of the hardware seems to be on right on par with the "professional grade" products.

- Remote Connectivity works like a charm. Since broadband internet isn't available in my subdivision, I'm stuck with using my cell phone carriers data plan for internet. This means no option for a static IP and every port under the sun closed. Thankfully, I've never had any issue connecting to my cameras locally or remotely even with my obscure connection.

- Quality of the footage. It's great... I also like the ability to switch between the main high quality stream and sub stream for mobile viewing.

- Audio on PTZ cams... It's nice being able to hear what's going on. Could already do this with my dropcam but it's great not having to sacrifice this while switching to the Lorex system.

- Hardwire.. Wireless is a nice idea in theory but nothing beats a wired connection in terms of speed and reliability

** The Cons **
- The lack of night vision came to me as a surprise with the PTZ cameras... they don't advertise it, but I was stupid enough to assume it had night vision.

- One way audio on the PTZ cameras... It's great that I can hear what's going on but it sure was nice to be able to talk back like I could with my dropcam.

- The software... If you are used to using something like Dropcam or really any modern product with wizards and simple setup you will likely be absolutely lost. The software is very clunky and far from intuitive. Reading the manuals you can work your way around and get things running. The software seems to allow for a granular level of control but shrouded in it's complexity is a severe lack of practical features.

- Practical Features ... as a surveillance system (which is what it purports to be) this probably does a pretty decent job but until living with the system for a couple months I didn't realize how much I missed some of the nice features like Home/Away mode. My house layout is such that we frequently cross in front of our security cameras throughout the day which means tons of motion alerts while sitting at home. Also seemingly missing is motion zones... In other words...if you have a tree in the scene that blows in the wind.. you are either going to have to chop down the tree or move the camera if you don't want constant false alarms. There is also seemingly no simple way to quickly review motion events from the footage throughout the day. With my dropcam, I'm able to quickly peek at motion events with previews and essentially accomplish a complete review of the days motion events in a matter of seconds.

- Alerts ... When you receive an alert (at least on iOS) you see the channel name as opposed to the name you assign the channel. With 8 channels... It's really hard to remember which one is which. Certainly, I'll learn them eventually but names should be shown in Alerts for a quick reference.

In summary... there is a lot that is missing but all of this could easily be resolved with a software update. The basics are there but it's just not as feature rich as I'd like it to be.

Thank you for your feedback. Our technical support team would be happy to assist you with the motion sensor issue you are experiencing and any other points you may need assistance with. Please give us a call at 1-877-755-6739.

I enjoyed the easy set up. The camera quality was not quite as good as I had expected, but it is still pretty incredible. I would and probably will buy again.
