Full 1080p HD security camera

2K IP cameras for home monitoring

Leave nothing to question thanks to 4 megapixel (2K) security monitoring, double the resolution of HD 1080p. 2K resolution can help identify vital details, such as faces or license plate numbers. The 4-megapixel image sensor records footage at 20 frames-per-second to deliver exceptionally smooth on-screen movement so you don’t miss a moment. Both IP camera models that make up the HDIP862MD feature wide 90° angle lenses, and provide extensive video coverage.

2K (4 megapixel) network security monitoring

See more, see further

Along with better visuals, a major benefit of your 2K security cameras is that the additional resolution will provide you with an increased ability to zoom in on distant objects. This offers you a better chance to capture specific details for evidence should an incident ever occur.

Easy setup, great packaging, good quality, and zero problems setting it all up. Only con is that getting a hold of a customer representative takes patience.

I'm loving it so far. Great videos, easy hook up. Big improvement over the Arlo system I had. Only problem I'm having so far is with the search feature, which I will probably learn as time goes on.

The system is real nice and everything came packed really well. Only issue I have is with their customer service or lack there of.

Received my original order and the DVR did not work. Having contacted customer service several times to get a replacement DVR was a slow process until I was contacted by someone from Lorex support. I had the new DVR in 2 days and everything is working fine. I'm not sure who it was that contacted me and resolved my issue but the company could learn a lot from that person on what Customer Service is!

The Complete system itself is very nice with good picture quality, and I would recommend to family of friends.

Thank you again!!!

We upgraded from an older analog system, and it has exceeded our expectations already! Simple and easy install. I love the app access!

The system is great. Exactly what I was expecting. PoE is extremely easy to install except for attic work. Everything is plug and play. Camera quality is good. Night vision is really good. Flir cloud is easy to install on your phone but make sure you scan the qr code on nvr it seems to work easier than setting up everything yourself. My only complaint is the loudness of the fan. For all those that complain about storage upgrade the hard drives the 8 channel nvr is able to be upgraded to 2 4TB hard drives. you are not buying a storage device you are buying a camera system.

Ordered this setup based on few factors; upgrading from an older smaller system and liked the completeness - good monitor, solid DVR, good cameras.
Made sure to pick one listed as "in stock" in Lorex's web store. I guess in stock is a debatable term. We received 2 of the cameras, the monitor and DVR and no indication we would be short anything. When I contacted Lorex I was told the camera had unexpectedly gone out of stock and they hoped to have more at a near but rather vague future date. Customer service person (overseas call center would be my guess) said she was sorry but couldn't do anything to help me and had no concrete information. Her supervisor assured me of quick fulfillment of my order including upgraded shipping but here I sit still waiting, no new information, no cameras, no indication of when they'll arrive. Hopefully it's worth the wait.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the delay as we had an unexpected back order. We hope you are enjoying the system now.

I purchased this system in November 2014 for my new home. Overall I really like the picture quality and the ease of PoE. The initial setup was a bit confusing but it seems like Lorex/FLIR have greatly improved their desktop application to make things much easier.

I would definitely buy this again.

Under impressed. The image quality is great, for about 20'. Beyond that, it's hit and miss. Really depends on the cameras non-adjustable focal point in relation to your objective.

At maximum resolution, recording five channels, you can only record almost 4 days. I dropped resolution to 720dpi for all but one camera, but I also started recording all channels. Hopefully I can get at least a full week, but will likely be a wash with more channels being recorded.

Install is 5 star. Drill a few holes, run a few cables, and you're in business. I spent more time navigating the attic for the cable runs than I did actually running cables and mounting cameras. Everything was plug-n-play, and the DVR linked up with all cameras without issue.

If all I could do was plug-n-play for a camera system, this thing is perfect. Nothing needed adjusted for the system to simply turn on and start recording. Day/night switching was default as well.

In regards to the IR, the IR LEDs are lacking in quality. When in color night vision mode, all is well. But when in black and white mode (sharper night time image), the LEDs are lit up and give away the camera position. Good deterrent factor, but not cool if you want your camera disguised.

Overall, the system gets a 4. Super easy install, but camera quality is lacking. Perfect image for entry ways and small yards, not so perfect if you park on the street.

System is substantially built. Software is a little tricky to maneuver but is adequate for my home needs. Cloud mobile app has been no problem to view live streams and see recorded info. We are pleased with our purchase and will certainly recommend!!

great price on this complete 8 camera system. well packaged, clear instructions. everything is straight forward and is great quality.
the install can be as simple or hard as it depends on your location. I had some tricky cable runs but even a wireless system wouldn't makes this any easier. great product for a great price and great picture quality.
can recommend this to anyone, just make sure to plan out your install and locations before you decide on any system.

I'd give this thing five stars if it weren't for the FLIR Cloud app. Setup of the unit itself is pretty straight forward and requires not much technical know how, as long as you can follow the color picture guide provided. Of course, this is a wired system, so it goes without saying that effort will be required in order to fish wire through walls, mounting the cameras where you want them, etc... However, Lorex provides plenty of cable in order to do the runs to each camera. Once the system is setup and running, FLIR Clioud is what you'd use to access the feeds remotely (or take a look at alerts like motion sensor triggers, etc...). This assumes you're out of the house and don't have ready access to the home unit. The cloud app is flaky at best, as it sometimes makes a connection to the recorder, but shows no live feeds (the camera feeds are simply black). Correcting requires a reboot of the main system at home, which somewhat defeats the purpose of the cloud app. Regardless, when the cloud app works, it's awesome. The system itself is awesome and well worth the investment as long as you can put up with a flaky or mediocre mobile app.

I purchased this HDIP862MDW during the black Friday deals. What a deal. So far it has worked perfect , All cameras worked out of box. Have only gotten 5 up so far .This is my first system .Picture quality is great , recording works great , have called support a couple times they have answered within a few min. every time(not sure if they read all the bad reviews on that and fixed).I have set up viewing on cell phones not a problem . Now trying to get recording set to last longer , think I`ll have to buy bigger hard drive . Only thing I would like to see changed is being able to buy longer cables when buying system , 60` just not enough . But I must say everyone that has seen my system is impressed .Quality , picture , remote viewing , playback . JOB WELL DONE WHOEVER IS RUNNING LOREX !

Physical install was very simple. Just drill a bunch of holes and install. They send 100' network cable for each camera which is more than enough. The recorder, the box and all documentation came in with the name Flir on it. I guess Flir owns Lorex. Doesn't matter, but some of the stuff that you need for registration and remote access directs you to instead of Was a little confusing, but I got it figured out.

The CD that ships with the software was no help. It simply brought up a web page that directed you to a website that was not available. I ended up just going to the Lorex/Flir site and downloading the software.

Instructions on how to set up remote viewing with DDNS were confusing. Part of it was saying use their website, others were saying to use their "Cloud Software"-which is installed on your computer. Eventually used the installed software as the web version never worked.

Very good product. Setup was a bit of a challenge. Needed assistance from tech support because my unit MAC address had been registered for some reason before. Tech support cleared everything up and I was able to setup my ddns account and remote viewing.

I was able to get remote viewing setup working on my iPhone 6 app but my iPad mini freezes due to memory issues. I can can also remote view using the Flir software loaded on my laptop but I have yet to successfully remote view through IE or Chrome browsers. When I try, it prompts me to install something but even after installing, it still doesn't work. It actually asks me to install it over and over again. Will have to call tech support to ask about this.

Motion detection works great for me (cameras are indoors). I have it setup to send me snap shops when motion is detected by email. I've yet to figure out how to get it to record a clip on motion. Will have to spend more time playing with it. When Im done testing, the cameras will eventually move to there permanent mounted locations outdoors - hopefully it works just as well.

This system is not for a novice user. If you're novice, expect headaches and a lot of phone calls to tech support. If you're intermediate, expect maybe one or two calls to tech support. Gave it 4-stars because tech support is helpful and available until 9pm and the price point is very good for what you get. Didn't give it 5 because of the time required to set this thing up. I've spent probably 4 hours so far and still haven't figured it all out yet

Great product! Nice to have everything you need in one box. The 2.1 MP cameras have very clear picture. If you are looking for an easy to install security system...look no further. I would recommend this product!

I loved the design and concept of the unit when I ordered it. Now that I have been trying to set it up I feel more like an Alpha Tester. Right out of the box it works a charm to it's monitor. Then I try to do some further setup and remote access and find that every document and guide is for some other product. Nothing seems to match what I have. In fact when I go on the website I can't even find the cameras listed. I have been on the phone with tech suport for hours and am on a replacement NVR now. In my last conversation we discovered that I was talking to the wrong Tech Support group. Hope that it gets better from here on.

So far the experience with this system has been good. Not great, but good.
Set up was extremely quick. You literally plug the DVR in, run the supplied network cables to the cameras and within about 1 minute the cameras are detected and you have live recording video.
Set up and customization in the software of the DVR is not overly user-friendly, however it is pretty straight forward.
Remote access to the system is honestly easy enough, if you can forward the ports in your router (which you would have to do with just about any system don't forget) you can get remote access to the system very quickly.
The App for iOS is not the best, the video doesnt fill the entire screen (running 1080p) it only fills about 2/3 of it, but it works well enough to check in and have a look at what's going on.
The biggest downside so far just seems to be the lack of Motion Detection, the cameras record constantly and at full resolution with 2 cameras we are getting about 1.5 weeks of recording.

Overall I would certainly recommend this system, with a larger hard drive. Ideally, motion detection would alleviate the need for larger storage.

good quality product def 5 stars networking is really impossible

No complaints so far. Plugged cameras in and immediately HD video was recording. Can't complain about remote viewing or network setup - don't really need that. Picture quality is great, I've used other 1080p cameras, so quality is pretty much the same. Will put 4 stars only because way too many complaints from novice network users, I believe every product should be plug-in-play for dummies.

28 out of 62

System is easy to setup, cameras view are excellent, it is pretty much plug and play. make sure after your IP address is established on the DVR unchecked the DHCP box so that it becomes a static IP address. so it won't renew every few days to save you from having an headache.

Setting up networking it is straight forward. installing the CMS software is very simple. instruction is easy to follow.

Remote viewing setup it is also very simple. make sure that you setup your router for port forwarding.

System is good. My couple complaints are

1. Getting system running on remote viewing is next to impossible. Between having Brighthouse and Flir trying to get everything synced is just exhausting.
2. I have already had one 48 Volt power replaced after two weeks of use. That took almost 4 weeks to get replacement part. So no cameras for almost 4 weeks.

Most of everything is working now, except remote viewing, but cameras are good quality.

3 stars for slow replacement part and difficulty getting remote viewing to work.

Great product, easy to install if you dont mind crawling in attics. Awesome picture, i would recommend all lorex/flir products to friends and family.

I bought a wireless set and did not like the picture quality at all. Returned it and upgraded to this HD version.

Plug those cameras in and it immediately shows HD video. I have no complaint at about the hardware at all. As for the software, it is a totally different story.

The interface is terrible, just like others pointed out. I can manage that. It is definitely not easy to set up remote viewing, especially if port forwarding is involved. The wireless version I just returned did not need to worry about that at all. I eventually got it work, but I still could not use internet explorer to view the video.

Motion detection works. After some time, I could no longer set the area to detect. It shows some irregular patterns and I could not save the selected area. After reverting to default, it is OK now.

Now the remote controller is not working anymore. I can not change to view different channels. I think it is the software issue, since I could no longer double-click a channel to view it either.

I would give the system five stars, but the software deserves -5 stars.

Works as advertised. I can view my home from my android phone

This system is not for motion detection, unless it is for an area that is absolutely steady. Like inside. Even though it will work outside, if you only care about seeing what moves, then it won't work because it will just record everything.

5 for the cameras (which are actually Sony)
0 for the interface (by far the most terrible security cam interface ever)
1 for the horrendous response time from Lorex. Ridiculous wait time, unknowledgeable staff, idiotic responses; they actually told me that each camera is only compatible with the dvr it came with! How can an IP POE cam be not compatible with another IP POE NVR?

All said and done, do not buy from Lorex, unless you have before, and know exactly what you want to do with their system.

From initial request for RMA they refused to respond until 3 weeks gone by, ridiculous.

Update to my previous post. After working with tech support everything working great now, tech guys were very helpful and knowledgeable, best to call during off peak hours to get through faster. Would buy again.

Bought this to replace another lower quality system we bought on Amazon. The whole kit is great quality, camera resolution is high and it's very simple to setup.

A few days after installing, we some questions around tweaking the cameras, Lorex support was great back then.

Recently, one of the cameras has gone dead - have spent more than a week now trying to get someone from Lorex to send me an RMA to replace it. Submitted two tickets online, and spent hours on hold Friday & Monday - after three hours yesterday I finally got through.

The CS rep explained that their support ticket system had been down but she'd send me an RMA once it was back online. A day and a half later, I've yet to see anything - and question whether anything is in fact coming.

Electronics fail, that's okay but when you're permanently mounting cameras and climbing ladders to troubleshoot, the quality of your customer support is where the rubber meets the road. Or in this case, drives off the cliff.

Long story short, this Lorex kit is probably the best you can buy at this price point. If I had gotten any acknowledgement from a real human about my issue within 48 hours, I'd rate it 5 stars.

But now that I'm a week+ in without a working camera over the most important part of my property, have invested 11+ hours on hold over the phone and still waiting for an RMA, I'd only give it 3 stars.

Ordered the NVR242T it came very quickley, camera setup was easy, daylight camera quality is outstanding, having trouble with DDNS, remote not working, motion recording not working.

The pictures make the cameras look as though they are not adjustable, however you can aim them any direction you desire. Connection and installation is very simple, no more complicated than hooking up any other home theater type of equipment.

User interface is horrendous. Nothing is grouped together properly, constantly going in and out to do just the simplest things. No instructions show how to bring up the actual info screen for the MAC address.

Was on hold for 78 minutes just to find out the tech on the other end didn't really have any training on the equipment either, he just fumple farted around for an hour like me.

All but implossible to make it work through the DDNS. Look at what "TeamViewer" did to make their system work, all this port forwarding business is for the birds, especially when it doesn't even work.

Add a wifi NIC, what's that, like $10? I have mine wired to a WiFi client, so it's wifi now.

On my LAN, I get full 1080 x 2 on my desktop, wirelessly of course.

As for the FLIR DNR200;
No way to set private zones. bad
No way to set motion detection areas. Bad
Totally obnoxious user interface. Very bad
Remote control is all but useless for anything other changing which camera to look at. Must use mouse to click on everything. Dumb design

5 Stars for HD Cameras, and other hardware
3 For terrible interface.

System set up local was simple with dvr recognizing the camera's, sign up and the installation guide has step by step proceedures, just follow instructions by the number. Customer service was helpful with questions bu a 10 min wait time. Internet connection is still pending due to my verizon router, Verizon has to help me with that But once teh router is configured I an ready for remote viewing. Some technical savy is needed but it is reasonably simple to get going. Hd daylight is exceptional, night vision is fair, if you want better night vision add more expensive camera's wit additional infrared sensors, That is why I bought the 2 camera system anticipating adding 2 better infrared camera's in future. I recommend it as a lower priced HD system with better quality day vision and easy setup.

This camera arrived promptly , but didn't work. We called tech support, they were great, but told us to return the camera. Lorex web provided a return label, and we promptly returned it. Per UPS, it has been received by Lorex on 9/12/14. When we didn't get our refund , we called several times, but the " call" was disconnected. Tried again yesterday 9/29/14, it's been weeks, and they admit the camera has been received, but the round was still not issued

Not pleased. I purchased my system because I thought it had the ability to control the area that it would monitor for motion detection. When I started to configure the system it had the menu that would allow me to highlight sections to monitor and highlight area that I wanted to ignore for motion detection. Every time I went into this configuration it wouldn't keep the sections that I wanted to ignore or monitor. I noticed that a firmware upgrade was available so I hoped that was maybe something that they had fixed. After the firmware upgrade this option was completely missing so I contacted support and they told me my model didn't support this and they were sorry it was showing up in a earlier release of firmware.

I am now just trying to decide if I should return this unit as this was a key feature in my deciding to purchase this unit.

So far so good. It shows extremely good picture and everything works perfectly. The only thing that I have is there is a street lamp close to one and it interferres with the IR night clarity some.

Placed order on May 31, 2014 for HD Model NVR242T security camera system with 2 HD Bullet cameras. Shipment arrived promptly however; the Bullet cameras were replaced with Dome cameras. Apparently, Lorex updated their web page on June 1, 2014 and the HD Model NVR242T security camera system has been replaced with 2 HD dome cameras. A call to customer service remedied the problem by swapping the received HD dome cameras with the HD bullet cameras that I ordered. I would also add that my phone call wait time was not unreasonable (less than 8 minutes). User manual is detailed but easy to understand. Although, I have not completely installed my system a trial run exhibited crystal clear HD quality images.

Ordered the camera's the came a lot quicker then i thought they would. I have had to reach out to support about missing CAT5 cables minus it was over a holiday the next business day. Take care of. (i ended up not use the cat5 cables anyway i ran my own CAT6 wires, also used keystone jacks by the DVR looks really professional installed - but it was the principal they were suppose to cat5 cables be in the box with my camera) Also one of my camera is having some fogging issues.. NO questions asked they are send me a new replacement camera. Over all very impressed with the support. Cameras image is amazing on how clear it is.. Even with a network cable well over 75FT long. The POE is great so you dont have to run an extra cable for power or use those POE injectors like those cheap cameras on ebay. I would give it 5 stars but the small issues of with wiring missing on shipment and camera issues on new install just couldn't give it all 5 stars.. but support so far is 5 stars!

Purchased the HP NVR camera system with 4 HD IP cameras (NVR2441T). Excellent value for the money. Plug and play out of the box. Apparently Flir Systems, a leader in military and commercial vision systems purchased Lorex to get into the home market. My NVR and cameras have the Flir label on them. Software available for PCs and smart phones. Used the odd giant sized instructions in the box. All the functionality and quality is there. I recommend you register your product and send questions on the website . The reply takes a day, but take you time and enjoy the technology.

i bought this LOREX NVR2411T but they sent me a different brand and model?? it's call FLIR model: DNR204P1. WHY???? does everyone's camera came with power supply? coz i don't see anybody complaint about it. my 4 cameras don't come with power supply, really??? $899 a set with no power supply? that's ridiculous!!!!!

Dear Ellen, the IP cameras that you ordered are PoE(Power over Ethernet) cameras. They don't require a separate power supply - just plug them into the NVR and they will work. Regards. Lorex

I purchased the LNR182C6 (8 port NVR with 6 HD IP Cameras) system. After mounting the cameras and running the CAT 5 cabling, this system is pretty simple to setup. As for the 1080p video quality, it's decent, even at night. That being said, the digital zoom option for each camera is poor in my opinion. The objects being viewed (zoomed in) in that mode appear blotchy and unrecognizable. The cameras did not come with a sealing gasket for mounting which could lead to moisture issues. The NVR is pretty easy to configure, though I found a few bugs during testing and setup. I am hoping for a firmware update to be released and keeping my fingers crossed that it will fix a few issues. I would have given this system 5 stars, but because of the poor digital zoom quality (guys this needs work) and a "buggy" NVR I am giving it 4 stars, which is not that bad.

My Lorex NVR works great and the cameras are as good as Blu-ray to be honest it's the best I've seen for security cameras and the installation using windows 7 was a breeze. I have 3 of the HD 1080p cameras and I will be adding on with a fourth. This has been a real wonderful way of providing my family with the security they deserve. The customer service was great when I needed a few questions asked but the installation of the windows client went smoothly using the software live view.

Just started using product, camera clarity is great with digital zoom you can identify objects at a distance. A little tricky on setup with directions, but I managed. So far all in all very satisfied and would recommend over other systems I have seen.

I had been looking at video security systems for my home for about a year. I spent the time educating myself on the different features offered by various manufacturers. I had narrowed my selection to the Lorex LNR 300, eight camera, 1080p POE, system but the price was too high for my budget. I eventually bought the LVR200 from Lorex at a discounted price. It came with 4 bullet cameras. I installed the system myself, crawling around in the attic wasn't much fun but I'm thrilled with the results. I added an additional 2TB disk drive which was a snap, to give me 3TB of recording space. I did have issues trying to get the web access to work. I have 2 routers which complicates the matter. I tried everything to get it to work, no joy, so I call tech support. After being on hold for an hour, I finally got connected to a real sharp techie that took control of PC, logged into my routers and got it configured perfectly. I can now access my cameras from anywhere. I give this system 5 Stars+, the cameras are plug-n-play, the menu system is intuitive and easy to use, the camera clarity is good, and the system setup is extremely flexible. I was concerned that other reviews mentioned excessive fan noise but I just don't see it, I don't even hear the fan. Highly recommend !!

I recently purchased this DVR200 HD system which was on time. The video is very crisp and clear and the system was fairly easy to install, even for a non technical home owner. Good night vision quality. I find that the motion detection is a little bit too sensitive.

Delivery was quick, set up was easy and the system is working very well. Not currently using remote viewing feature at this time. If installing wiring through PVC tubing make sure ethernet wires are reconnected in the correct order/sequence.
