Finally have system working. Out of 8 cameras I could only get 5 to initially work. Tried technical support but they never called me back. Ended up replacing the ends of 4 of the provided cables. They would not pass a communications test. Several of the ends were not crimped completely. Once I replace 8 of the connector ends everything is finally working.

I purchased this from Costco a few months back, but did not install until last week. I called some local professionals to install the cameras around my house and pull the cables to where my router is kept. The POE feature makes it easy run cables as single cables. I did most of configurations myself with a little help from the installer technician. I downloaded and installed the FLIR Cloud app on my iPhone as well as Android tablet and everything worked fine.
The camera picture quality is very good for the price paid. In daylight, the pictures are excellent quality and color. Pictures are also reasonable clear and bright at night under the exterior lights.

I also registered at lorextechnology.com for the warranty and the DDNS account. I also configured the DDNS information into the NVR Unit. However, I am not yet able to view the information through the DDNS account. I haven't had a chance yet to fix the issue or contact Lorex support yet.

In general, this is a very good system for a reasonable price. The quality of the camera picture is very good. The NVR interface is also at the level that you would expect for similar equipment. However, I wish there was better documentation and help available for configuring the system. However, I am not sure if other similar products offer are better in this regard. In general, I would recommend this product, based on my experience so far.

The hardware itself is pretty easy to setup. Software needs a lot of work - especially searching for events (not very intuitive). There is a feature called Smart Search - still have not been able to figure out how to use it or even if it works at all. Also, cannot figure out to setup specific motion "zone's" or motion/alarm alerts. The FlirCloud app is glaringly vague on the fact that passwords greater than 6 characters will prevent the app from working correctly. Please invest on improving the software - when that it is done, I will wholeheartedly endorse this product. Until then, it really isn't any better than any other brand on the market.

Good home dvr system. No problems installing, got all 8 cameras working with one being over 400 feet away from the unit. The only issue - 4 of my dome cameras "fog" up at night, it looks like IR is reflecting back and somewhat blinding the camera at night. No issues with bullet type cameras. Other than that - great system !

I give 4 stars for LNR100 - I use 8 cameras at this setup.

Good: quality of video, great resolution, very fast response, small delay etc.

No so good: the NVR software should be more intuitive and better. I say this because it looks more like software from a decade or so ago. What is good here is that all important options are out there, but the interface itself is not that nice.

I have had very good experience with the customer service - they seem to be very nice and helpful.

I got this system from Costco. It was a great deal at $699 with 8 cameras. I had a local electrician do the install, so I had no issues as he did the attic crawling. All worked great coming out of the box. I found the software straight forward to use. I do use a camera system at my work and it runs similar. I would recommend to anyone. To the person that paid $999 to Costco just a month ago. Costco will credit you down to the sale price.

This is a great unit. The setup was fairly easy except when i tried to setup user account for remote viewing. It took me awhile to make user account work. I had been trying to setup up motion alert to send to gmail but no success yet. As for the quality, the night vision is clear even thought it has no color. Day time color is vivid and clear with true color. This system does not have exhaust fan so it does get hot on the box. i believe it has a small fan on the CPU but not enough to push all the heat that is generate by the hard drive. The power cable for the cameras does not have cover on it if you use POE over cat6 cable so i have to hide it under the cameras so the water doesn't penetrate. It is nice that the system has 2 modes for viewing. The main mode is for viewing when you have wifi and the sub stream is for when you don't have wifi. This is helpful when you don't have unlimited data on you phone. But the system still record at main stream (HD). As for the flir cloud app on the phone, it is easy to use. There is not much you can do on the phone beside view live, playback, snapshot, etc... but you can not do any setting of the system on it. The only thing that is not working on the app is the push config which i don't know what it for. As for the flir cloud client app for computer, you can do the same as the phone but you can also config the system, cameras, create account, alarm, ddns, smtp, etc... just like on are at the system which is great when you want to modify your setting without having to be next to the system.

Purchased the system June'16 via Costco online for $999. Missed the $300 rebate that came 15 days later. Install a little cumbersome primarily due to the need to pull ethernet through our attic and to our eaves. That said, the product works great. One of the cameras was defective and Lorex promptly replaced them (call through Costco concierge). The resolution is excellent and the price at $699 (LVR 1182+8 bullets) is a great deal- available at Costco till 7/31. Takes a little getting used to the interface and still working with setting up the motion alerts via Gmail. Highly recommend this system. Disclaimer - Lorex offered to up our warranty by a year to submit a review but I would have given this system a 5 stars anyways.

I now wish I would have spent a few more bucks and got a system with ptz cameras but this system will do for my home protection. I am in the process of connecting the FLIR Cloud and am finding it a bit complex, but fell confident I will succeed. I recommend this product.

This was my 2nd camera system install, so I have a little experience. Installed a NNR1180 - 8 channel NVR with 4 bullet cameras. Figure I'll add 4 more cameras later, now that I'm familiar with the system. Wiring couldn't have been easier with the POE. It simplifies everything and is basically plug and play. Camera detail was impressive. Night vision was ok, like any other camera that I've installed. Set up was simple, but had difficulty setting up a DDNS. Had to open a ticket with support to get assistance. Support was great and they even sent emails to check on my progress after the initial call. If I had any complaint, it would be with the Flir app. It seems that the app requires almost full signal strength to pull up the cameras, even with them set on low resolution.

The web site can use some improvement to make is more user-friendly to locate the software! Pictures are very clear and recording was nice. I have yet to set up for control by cell phone and hopefully it will not be a challenge for me (I am a computer literate person).

I purchased the LNR1180 system from COSTCO. System very easy to install, but found the 60' provided cables a little to short. Set up was very easy, and the APP feature on my IPHONE works pretty good. The downside is the email push notifications. I have not been able to get it to work. I did submit a help request, but the person that responded wanted to get remote control of my computer. I am wary of letting anyone access remotely. I would hope that LOREX/FLIR would just have easier directions for setting this feature up. Video quality is pretty good, however with digital zoom I would not be able to read a license plate more than 50' feet away. I did have a camera go out due to a rainstorm. Lorex customer service promptly replaced it which was very impressive.

I like the features of my LNR series system and that it is powered over ethernet with one cable. However... I am still having issues with my cameras not working five weeks after installing. It took almost four weeks to get the one camera that was DOA out of the box. FOUR WEEKS! Technical issues with Lorex email system was a large part of the delay. Customer service is lousy. They don't communicate well with their clients or each other, IMHO. I spent $899.00 for a retail product valued at $1299.00 and I have these kind of problems?! Oh, I just had a call-back from technical support as I was writing this review and we got disconnected! No call-back; guess I just have to call back and wait another 45 minutes? I just wanted to get a firmware update and can't find it at Lorex's 'unfriendly' website. Also the support literature is lacking. Good luck trying to figure out your NVR and make adjustments!

I purchased the Lorex LNR 110 system with 8 cameras. Set up is simple, however, I needed to purchase 4 longer cables since the 60 foot long cables were not long enough. It was not clear if I could connect two 60 ft. Ethernet cables using a in- line RJ45 female coupler, so I decided to error on the safe side and use new single run RJ6 cable for the longer runs. I also have one camera that did not work. Will need to check with Lorex to get a replacement. Otherwise, Good clear images and IPad connectivity was simple.

I originally was quite upset with the system. I read reviews and became very nervous. They said tech support and hold times were ridiculous etc. etc. I was on hold for only 30 min and called about 10x for settings etc. SO I was ok with that. The only thing that I am frustrated with is the PUSH notifications for motion detection to the app has been down for about 2 months. They keep telling me they are working on it. Very Frustrated with that.

I purchased the LNR110 8 camera system (4 dome & 4 bullet) from Costco. Build quality is solid. Very thick metal housing. I installed the system myself. Excellent picture quality, both day and night. I recommend downloading the user manual and spend some time with the system interfaces. The quick-install guides that come with the system are very straight forward. I highly recommend this system. The FLIR cloud app has issues. The push notifications stopped over 6 weeks ago. FLIR claims the server is being updated. I don't know if Lorex and FLIR are one and the same, but I would recommend Lorex provide additional app options.

Good product for the money. The cameras seem to have pretty good quality and app is alright. Wish the interface was a little better and also wish the web app had the option to shutdown the system. A little disappointed in customer service. My buddy bought the same system and it came with conenctors that would secure the Ethernet wire to the camera connector, but my package did not. Called customer service and they said I had to go back to the store and have them verify the missing parts. Did this and the other box they had did not have the connectors either. After searching the web it appears he got something that is not longer made.

The install is a piece of cake with a single CAT5 cable providing power and the video signal. The weatherproof connectors required me to cut the ends of the included CAT5 cables, slip the weatherproof connector over the cable, and then re-crimp the cable. This wasn't a problem for me but is a problem for almost everyone else. I feel this is a huge issue and Lorex should have included a different way of weatherproofing the connections.

The video quality is great. The motion detection algorithm is adjustable and is great. I have my system set for continuous recording. When there is motion my green time stamp bar turns yellow. This makes it super easy to review footage.

I will update this review in another month after the system has been put though it's paces.

PI got my LNR-1180 thru Costco. It is working great up to now. Image is absolutely good. Set Up was kind of easy. I like the FLIR Cloud software, although it took a little while to find it at the Lorex download site. They should name it directly FLIR Cloud software, so customer is sure that it is the right one.
I am glad I chose Lorex among different companies.

Researched systems for several months and decided that this was the best system and for a great price through BJs. Before we installed it at our local library we plugged it in to test it out and I was impressed as it booted up ready to go and the video was phenomenal! After install, we started it up and all is good. Video is great.

I would say there are no detailed manuals and the help desk knowledge level, although nice people, they seem to only access the same manuals I can access. I was adjusting my video record settings and totally screwed up one camera because of bit rate settings. Note: If you use FLIRCloud software, be careful ! It doesn't not display the same info as the built in software of the NVR. This is what got me messed up. But after creating a ticket and talking with tech support (45 minutes) we were able to correct the messed up camera. But a greater explanation of how software functions work, could have avoided this all together. If you don't mess with it, it will work fine though, I have to say that.

With all that said, I will give it 5 stars though, as If I didn't have the issue that was created due to lack of knowledge, it is a great system for the price and ease of use. I'm impressed so much that I have purchased one for my home too !!

I have not yet fully installed this system, however I have set it up. The system is running fine and picture quality is very good. the flir software is a little slow to connect. I cant wait until all cameras are installed so I can experience the full effect, I'm sure it will be fine recording on all 4 channels. I also love the POE connection. Delivery of the product was very quick.so far very happy with my purchase.

Delivery of the product was very quick. I have not yet fully installed this system, however I have set it up (4 cameras). The system is running now for about 3 days, recording on all 4 channels. Picture quality is very good (day & night). The only issue that I had was that I changes the monitor resolution and was not able to get the system reset (no rest to factory settings). Once I connect a higher resolution monitor I was able to rest the system to the lower resolution (VGA) with no problems.

I ordered the LNR182 with a non standard camera package (one dome and three bullet cameras) from the Lorex Store. The associate I ordered from was very helpful and billed me for a standard camera package which saved me money.
The cameras have sharp detail and good color and along with the NVR are working as advertised.

Product very solid with excellent quality. Recommend to purchase newer model with 8 port switch if you need to connect more cameras (LNR110). Came with only one power supply (good thing).Also you will get newer software. So far no complains.
On other note had opened the ticket on previous DVR and have never been contacted as stated before. Wake up support!!!

I am able to access my live video and recordings from 2 of my Android devices and from a Windows 7 PC. 1080P cameras provide excellent picture and clarity and the night vision also is excellent.

Easy setup and great picture quality thru the computer or monitors. could be better over IPad/iPhone. Self installed and had first camera working in less than an hour. Cabling was easy, especially with a POE switch, be sure if you buy a third party switch you get an 802.3 AT not 802.3 af rated switch.

Bought 8 camera system (4 dome - 4 bullet) from Costco. Build quality is EXCELLENT. Very robust metal housing. Was able to install system myself. Excellent pictures. Recommend downloading the user manual and spending some time with the system interfaces so that you can ensure your camera is only recording what you want. The quick-install guides that cone with the system are so straight forward your teen can install the system. Highly recommend. Get heavier Cat5 cables however for your exposed runs.

I want to add to my earlier review, but it does not look like I can do this. I have be playing with the software and find that they have completely different versions depending on if you are using a PC / Android or the DVR. They do not have the same capability or use the same words to do the same thing. Very difficult for users. The documentation is very bad, and leaves out how to do many things. Hardware seems to work well, but this is a system and with the confusing documentation and the incompatible software I am changing my ratings to one star. I would give it less if you I could.

I bought this system to replace an analog system which never worked right. If you want a simple to install system with great pictures this is it. I bought a simple Samsung 24 inch monitor and had the first Camera working in less than an hour. The hardest part will be figuring where to put the nvr and running the Cat 5 cables to it. I used an extended 3/4 inch drill for a single cable and a 1 inch drill where I ran two cables through same hole. The system I bought at BJs wholesale club came with 4 cameras. I will be adding additional cameras to the system . The cameras that came with the package are 1080 resolution and crystal clear. I did use Tech support for what I perceived to be a camera problem ( black & white Pic) but was in fact just low light and also made a call for help with the remote access on my I phone they were very helpful and were able to talk me a computer illiterate through. You will love the cell phone access to check on your home.

Purchased the LNR182C4. In the 4 months that I have had it three of the four cameras stopped working. I can't log in under different users other than ADMIN. I have been waiting 1.5 months for my third replacement camera. I can't get strait answers. They wont say its out of stock but there can't be any other reason. I found six websites selling the same camera with inventory. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. WHEN it works the picture quality is very good. Unfortunately its tough to appreciate that when your cameras don't work. By the way. I did not install this myself thus creating "user error". The system was installed by a profession commercial security system contractor.

I have had the system a little over a week. The hardware seems like a good design, pictures are very clear. Software is very weak an unuser friendly. An example is the use a term to view recordings as "Search" Why not recordings, or play or something that relates to a recording. Cannot see system under windows 10 default web browser. Documentation is incomplete and not user friendly.

I'll update this as soon as I do further evaluation on the system.

The LNR100 series is a fabulous system. Extremely easy setup especially with the mobile phone app. Tested all the cameras before installation and all worked right out of box. The picture quality is perfect with great color and clarity during the day and the night with the infra-red is very clear for up to 100ft. Issues with getting started on the PC were resolved quickly with the support team and working well. Definitely like what the system does, and would recommend highly!

So far so good! Unit came out of the box and the default password did not work. Called support and had it unlocked and ready to go in just a few minutes. Cameras work well. DVR does its job. Software for the Mac crashes once in a while and is a bit cloogy. Otherwise, the cameras offer a great picture and do their job of recording. Motion based recording is a pain, and with the available storage, I just record continuously. DDNS not working, but still playing with that.

The PC and phone apps were also easy to install and access. I am still working with the sensitivity & threshold adjustments on motion events for email alerts as this is a little tricky.

I've had this system (that I installed myself) since Oct. 2014....worked perfectly for 10 mos. It recently stopped recording , and Lorex said they would ship me a new HDD.I'm waiting for that now. (July '15)

It was easy to install...and I especially liked watching the icicles grow off my gutters while on the golf course in Fla. this past winter. The FLIR cloud system worked perfectly !

Picture quality was better than expected however one camera stopped working after 24 hours. Waiting on a replacement camera from LOREX tech support. (purchased system on 3-5-15)

The HD picture quality and set up was fantastic better than expected however not very happy with one camera already not working after 24 hours.

I'm not your average installer so my review should have merit- I'm a registered DBPR Florida state licensed electrical contractor. I will update my review once I have a new camera working and not other issues to report/ review.

This system is great for the average home owner. The quality of the video is outstanding but it has a downside. If you want continuous recording on all 4 cameras, you only get a couple days before it either stops recording or starts recording over. Another downside I have noticed is that after the system needs to record over the old stuff, even after formatting, the cameras start missing up to 10 hours a day of recording. This could just be a problem with my system or just the way it is.

I have had this system for about 2 weeks now and am very pleased with it. Installation was pretty easy and setup just as easy. The HD resolution is awesome and the night vision too. It was a little tricky setting up Flir Cloud, but once I got it working on my PC, Mac, IPhone, Ipad and Android phone, I love the ability to see the cams remotely.
