I bought my Lorex LW 2731 system about 1 year ago. It was relatively easy to set up and has performed as expected. I recently had and issue with the motion recording option. So far, I have had a good experience with customer service and I am pleased with their support.

I received my Lorex with 2 additional cameras as a gift and just got it installed 2 weeks ago. It tells all including voice and an intercom if I need to speak to anyone at the door. I live in the country by myself and this is just the trick with no monthly fee. I can sit in the livingroom and watch all 4 camera's at once. Luckily no unwanted visitors but I did capture 2 deer and a rabbit. How much fun is that as well as safety. The only problem I have is one of the camera's is so sensitive even on low that it picks up car noise passing in the road or something and sets off the record video. I am going to move that camera and hopefully solve the problem.

I checked out several different video security systems and decided on this one (LW2730/LW2930 series). Not only is it easy to install but works great right out of the box. I had no problem hooking it up and the two cam's paired to the 9" monitor without any hassle. I would highly recommend this system to anyone that needs a two cam system.

Satisfied so far; really like the ease of putting the unit into service. Great clarity of the picture from the cameras. Like the availability to view my system by using Skype. After showing my system to others; they too are considering purchase the same unit.

I received the Lorex LW2930 model as a present. The unit has better clarity than I ever imagined, sharp pictures.Working great as I have installed one camera on my out building and it preforms great at this time. I don't have a problem with the unit but I do have a problem with your customer service. First day I called as I was having a problem registering the unit, was told someone would be with me in 10 minutes, well I held on for 45 minutes and no answer, gave up. On the 28th of Dec. I called back and left my number as per instruction that someone would call me back, as of this date the 30th of Dec. no one has called me. Not that for your company sucks.

I have used lorex cameras at work and had good success with them. purchased these for my home as my old system was obsolete. picture is good as always and mounted under an overhang to prevent them from fogging up. cant beat this system for the price. haven't figured out how to connect to my computer yet but haven't spent a lot of time with it either. great value!

I Purchased the Lorex 4 camera system a week ago. I am mounting the cameras on all 4 corners of the roof to cover the entire acre I live on.Unfortunately, all 4 cameras are exposed to the elements. We have no overhangs on the newer flat roof homes here in Arizona to mount the cameras under to keep them protected. They do advertise this as an indoor/outdoor camera, but also say "keep it out of rain and snow"! So I had to construct a protective hood for for each of them made out of a Tupperware tub glued to the top of the camera upside down with one end cut off. It seems to do the trick. The ac plug for the camera also says " for indoor use only" ? So every receptacle outside that I plugged them into, I also had to weather proof.Still, happy with the system and the video quality.Best bang for the buck I found out there. Just wish the engineers at the company could come up with an accessory to protect the camera and ac plug for situations like mine.

Disappointed with customer service

on

November 5, 2015

Location: Wisconsin

I purchased this system in July to replace an old but similar system. Overall not a bad unit but I am having connection/signal strength problems. Customer service was of little help but I was advised to purchase and install their range extender antenna. I finally purchased it and it did not help. Now the real problem. I want to return the antenna but cannot get their customer service department to issue me a return authorization number so now I cannot ship the item back. I submitted a "ticket" per their protocol but get no response from them. This bad experience with their support department has disappointed me greatly and I will never buy from Lorex again!

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the inconvenience and delayed response to your ticket.

I've had my system for 11 months now, and it has worked well. Maybe 2 or 3 times, I've had to reset a camera (unplug), because it lost connectivity. But, it always recovers. However, recently the LCD display developed a white spot (probably dead pixels). I created a ticket, and waiting on customer support to respond.
This is something that happens with LCD displays sometimes. But, otherwise I'm happy with the system. I've even added additional cameras with no problems.
We'll see how customer service works out.

Received product early Sept. Just installed the unit. I read where the cameras were paired at factory. Mine was not, I had to pair them. I love my LW2932.My house is really soundproof. So much so, I can not hear traffic enter my driveway. That prolem is now solved, with clear visual monitoring.

I am satisfied with the functionality of the LW2932 two days in. The directions were easy to follow. I have set up (2) cameras in the house and plan on setting up the other outside to cover my entrance. One snag that is still being worked out is my remote viewing. The CD that came with the system did not include the appropriate driver to set this up. I created a ticket online and am waiting to be contacted. Otherwise, I'm pleased so far.

I have the model LW2930 system. I think the system is great andI have one camera monitoring my back yard and back door; the other camera monitors my front door and driveway. The pictures are very clear and t
he outside sound is also good. The intercom could be better. I'd like to see who is at the front door when the door bell rings. Having the SD card is great to be able to give to the police to investigate anything suspicious. The first camera stopped working, but there was no problem. I returned it and a new camera was received.

I've only had my LW2932 up and running for two days but so far so good. Very easy to set up. I've had a lot of false alerts due to wind and moths flying around but once I got the sensitivity adjusted they work great. I have steel siding on my house so I never get more than 3 bars even though one camera is only about 5' from the monitor and the other about 40'. I am probably going to buy two more cameras. I do wish the video was a bit more clear.

With the help of Jenny Guest from customer relations, I received the replacement camera for my monitoring system. It says that I had to pair the camera to the monitor for it to work, that was so simple to do I believe a 10 year old could have performed the procedure. It took longer to put the camera backup than it did to do the pairing and the system has worked great for the past week. I do recommend the LW2930 system to anyone that is thinking of getting a security camera system.

Was given 6 different answers as to why. customer service could not work for me. I am 67 and set in my ways. Want what I PAID FOR. Will send it back but have been told getting money back could take awhile. Until I get what I PAID FOR I would not recommend this company to anyone

I bought this because of neighborhood break-ins. I already had a security system for doors and windows but thought I should be able to see what was going on, too. I have the LW2960H model, with 2 cameras, expandable to 4 total.

This system was very easy to set up. Just a couple settings changes and I was online. The system plugs into my Internet in the house and I can view my cameras through my smart phone. While you can talk and listen through the cameras via the touchpad, I can also do that through their phone app. Very cool. Picture quality on the phone is very good, too.

I got a 32gb micro sd card for it and set it to overwrite but I think it will hold a couple weeks of recordings, easily. I had one small problem where the screen went blank. I tried powering it off, but that didn't solve the problem. Removing the battery and putting it back did.

I purchased this system after a couple of my neighbors cars were broken into. I made this investment before the same happened to me. I have one camera pointed to the parking lot for my car, and the second camera is located out my back door. Not only have there not been anymore car break-ins but I have a safer sense of security for my apartment. The monitor has a great picture and I love the audio ability as well. I absolutely recommend this system for anyone living in an apartment complex.

Great system that works as advertised. The only issue was the manual which you need to read carefully as the screen software for deleting files was not intuitive. Nice to not have to use buttons on the back to delete files...should be able to do it from the front controls.

Happy with my Lorex security system, had a problem with the SD card that came with it, tech support advised they would send a replacement but suggested I get a SD card that would hold more information, so I got a 32 Gig. locally and now everything is working right. Nice clear pictures from the cameras.

I left phone number to the customer support center answer machine after wait for over 30min yesterday, but until now I still have no one call back. Then I submitted few tickets, and replied with official statement that the support team would get back to me soon, and had me to call back the customer service for faster transaction! I just set up my Lorex video monitor system and it has pro and cons.. I love the picture quality and it was easy set up. I like the fact I can set recording times or motion detector. The big issue I have is viewing it remotely.. You have to log in to Skype and view only one camera . You must log into Skype and leave it log in and computer on for you to view.. If your gone on vacation ..Thats 7 days of leaving computer on and Skype login on your computer... Other wise I love it... there fore only 4 stars

With theft from vehicles in the neighborhood recently, I purchased the LW2932 and two more cameras a few weeks ago and this system works great! I like the fact that there are no cables for the cameras and that they can be moved around as needed. After two car break-ins it was time to invest in a reliable surveillance system. What with property crimes or just the need to feel more secure, the Lorex system satisfies. In addition, the company's online resources and commitment are a big plus.

We have three of these systems between my mother an myself. They work great. I needed to buy extra cameras and then came the nightmare. I ordered using a valid credit card and got an email back that they wanted a scanned copy of the card and a bill sent to the address. That opens the door for their employee to commit identity fraud. I had no issue scanning the card as the information is identical to what they already have. I ended up speaking to someone in the RCMP who also felt the request for a bill (hydro..??) was inappropriate. I spent almost 30 minutes on hold, being passed from person to person and couldn't get it resolved. There is NOTHING wrong with the credit card so you have to wonder why someone in their company wants all this extra information. I now have two systems short the cameras we need and were told could be added on. The systems great but dealing with LOREX is a nightmare! I am now considering involving a lawyer.

My requirements for a Security system was for it to be: a) Easy to setup and configure b) reasonably priced c) four cameras with good picture quality d) access via a Smartphone This Lorex system met all of my requirements. It has some limitations, such as the Smartphone access via one camera via Skype and the quality of the video is ok. But I knew I wasn't paying for super, high quality cameras. I positioned the cameras in their approximate final positions and had no problem in receiving signals from several locations in the house; I will eventually buy a Ethernet power line adapter to allow me to position the receiver in a secure location when I am on vacation or out of the house. I have not been able to evaluate all features, but I am completely satisfied to date.

Delighted with the purchase. Wish I'd bought four cameras instead of the supplied two.

Dead simple installation.

Hope eventually this kind of system will be offered with a touch-screen type of tablet monitor that docks to charge but can be carried about the house. Hard to do at the price, I'm sure. We are happy with what we received, nonetheless.

Purchased a LW 2962H system for my home. Placed 4 cameras on Barn. It is about 150' to furthest camera from my home. Even though the home is stone reception is good when the receiver is by a window. Pictures are much clearer than on an earlier Lorex system that I replaced. Service is great. I had a problem and called Tech support. I was answered in about 2 rings and spoke to Tech Dan who quickly resolved my problem.

I recently purchased the Lorex LW491HD home camera system and love it. Installation was super easy. The video looks super clear in hd. I like how the system alerts the user via audible when the camera detects something. The night vision works well. I really like this system a lot and would highly recommend Lorex home security cameras for home surveillance.

A few goods words about the Lorex LW2932 product from a club calf producer in western PA. My wife and I recently purchased the 2 camera system to install in our calving barn. The results literally paid for itself. The second calf to be born came backwards. Viewing this from the house at 10PM we were able to aide assistance immediately with positive outcome. We were so impressed with the 2 cameras in the calving barn that we purchased 2 more cameras for the loafing barn. These cameras will be as valuable at breeding as they are at calving. The recording is just as good - no more guessing. You will be surprised what cows do at night. A true asset to any livestock producer big or small.

The LW2932 has been a lifeline for me. I am a caregiver of an elderly gentleman who has Dementia. He is often exit seeking. The LW2932 monitor signals me when he is moving around. It is especially a peace of mind during the night, because it allows me to see him clearly in the dark. The two-way voice allows me to speak to him without having to get out of bed, and he can hear me and respond. It is such a help; as if I have another staff person for every camera. This system is my eyes and ears 24/7.

This is a good product. I have four wireless cameras. Easy to install. The only thing I wished I could do with it is send the wireless signal to two different designated devices. I have the monitor/recorder by the front do so I can see who is at the front door, at the street curb, at the walk-way to the front door and the driveway without opening the front door. In the event there was a home invasion the montitor/recorder would be the first thing they would take along with any recording of their actions. I would like to have a second recording device hidden in the house/garage some where that would backup the main monitor/recorder.

Just purchased the LW2960 with 4 cameras. Could not believe how easy and fast it was to set the system up with the SD pro app for my android phone. The HD video during the daylight hours is just great although the IR video at night is just OK. Have been testing the system for a few days now and have not had even one false alert. From receiving an alert until I am viewing the event on my phone take only about 1 minute. I can't speak to the tech support end yet since I have had no reason to need to call them. So far, I am very happy with the system.

We have moved my wife's esthetic business to our home but the backyard's side basement room became the biggest safety concern because she couldn't see the front door approach area. The other concern was a long frontal driveway to a detached garage including the hidden back door. Buying the LW2730 receiver with two wireless cameras, which were installed above the front entrance and at the garage's peak, was a welcome solution. Now, using a non intrusive blank screen in Safety Mode, neither she, nor her clients, are disturb with the otherwise flashing screen. However, any detected motion opens up the black screen and allows communicating with the person on the other side. Taking into consideration late evening appointments, her clients are very pleased with this thoughtful safety feature. We wold definitely recommend this peace of mind solution to anybody who has safety concerns.

This system allows us to see who is at the door and if it's someone we want to answer the door for, we can tell them we will be there in a minute. If not we can we can either ignore them or tell them to take a hike. This system also allows us to monitor the all of or property when we are home or on vacation. In the end I have a system that has outstanding picture quality and performance.

I finished installation this week. My impression is that this an excellently designed and well engineered system. I installed 3 cameras outdoor , in weather protected locations. The fourth camera is mounted on a 4x4x4 inch piece of wood. This provides a secure mount and can be moved around.

My system is a LW2960.

There is quite a lot to learn and one must have patience and read the on line manual to extract full value. I suggest everyone down load the appropriate manual.

The support seems quite good. If I can not find the information, I will be sure to call.

Thanks.

I have not had any problems with the installation or operation of this system. I would have liked to see a manual mute on the volume and the camera cords a little longer (around 5 feet more). About this particular system? I am relatively new to actual security systems even though ive had security cams since 2006! I had it plugged into a old vcr & mostly just watched via the TV! I actually ordered a lesser known brand at 1st but due to the inability to get far signals i returned it & thats when i purchased lorex! Theirs plus"s & minuses about the system! The biggest being having to purchase add on cameras at $100 a piece! Lorex offers cheaper cameras but none work with this particular unit! My thoughts is this? Why not make a little transmitter to purchase that goes with this unit & let ppl purchase it so they can use existing cameras with? Since the system has to lock itself to the system? The button could be placed on the transmitter just like the wireless camera! Those transmitters should also be fairly priced since one would be needed per camera! The high price of the cameras is a turn off to me! Just because the camera is pricey doesnt nessicerily mean durabilty neather? I purchased an add on & the 1st rain storm took it out! Had to return it for a refund! Ive had my $26 dollar walmart cam since 06 & it still works! Its just you have to hook it to a vcr or dvr cause its a wired model!

This was just what I needed. This wireless 2932 Lorex was very easy to install. Mounted and plugged the monitor and the cameras in an electric outlet in range. No mess, no extra wires and no hassle. The 9" monitor shows a very clear picture in daylight, at night with a light near by it shows good otherwise at night its ok. So far the only problem I had was after 6 months it stopped sequencing. I sent it back for repair last week, waiting for the return. I also purchased two cameras later, for some reason I had to turn the monitor off and back ON before they would pair. It didn't mention that in the pairing directions. I also ordered a second Lorex for a family member because she liked this one so much. Great system.

Have used the SD9+ wireless video monitoring system for almost a month and have found it to be a great product. Very easy to install and set up. Had a problem with one of the extra cameras I purchased but the tech department helped me solve the problem. The quality of the daytime and nighttime is very good. I really like the ability to hear and talk to someone outside from each camera. I installed a 32g card and leave the system on when we are gone. Great to be able to see and hear what kinds of critters (two legged and four legged) are around while we are not at home.
I would recommend this product on the basis of price, ease of installation and how the product functions.

The cameras are very good and the color daytime quality is excellent. At night the picture is a little grainy. The monitor is small but very sophisticated. The plug and play set up is fast and easy to install. The instruction booklet is clear and concise. I wish the outside cord to the cameras was at least twice as long or more. I recommend this system for the price. Unfortunately my monitor is missing a plastic part on the joy stick at the back and needs to be sent back. So far the person at technical support has been very agreeable and helpful.

The cameras are great, nice picture and sound. The 2 way communication woks awesome and is perfect for the main entry doors and back doors. Monitor is kind of low end quality but video is ok. Get a new SD card because the one that comes with the camera it does not wok right after a few days, shows error, bought a new 16 gig Scan disk card and problem solve.

I purchased the LW 2732 system with 4 cameras as a second video surveillance system for one of my businesses. While it basically works OK, the video quality lacks clarity/definition. Compared to the other system I have- which is 7 years old- the video quality is mediocre at best. I was also disappointed that the only way you can view this remotely is via Skye, and that you can only view whatever camera is paired to camera 1.
Technical support was extremely frustrating. I filled out a support ticket with a question and it was immediately filed as completed- absolutely no follow up. The links on the site and the CD that came with the unit didn't work to download proper drivers for my computer (Windows 7 Professional). I tried calling the support number several times- the first time was over a 45 minute wait, the second time I got through to a technician after 20 minutes and he was able to remotely install the USB driver I needed.
I was going to buy two more of these for several other businesses I have but, given the mediocre quality of this system, I will look for something else.

had the unit for 1 week now and love the features on the iphone application for remote access. I would say the phone support is lacking and setting up the ipnone for remote conection was a little confusing. Too early to tell over time if the unit holds up, but for now love it for what I was trying to accomplish.

The camera system is great. It's plug and play and easy to operate. HOWEVER, I have found
that customer service is lacking. It is very difficult to reach anyone by phone. Additionally, My email to them have gone unanswered as of this writing. I left my number 3 times and they called back once while I was not in my office. Returned their call left my cell number this time, still waiting. I am requesting customer service to rectify a duplicate order. (I ordered two more cameras for a total of 4 on my system).
I called 0831 EST and already the phone lines were so busy, after 10 minutes on hold, I left my number. (they open at 0830)
As much as I like the system, I am beginning to regret buying the system from Lorex. IF customer service is difficult, what about tech support? How difficult will it be to speak to them?
If anything changes, I'll update my review.

I have had the system up and running for over a month now, for the most part it does what it says it should, the night recording is in black and white and you can see the person fairly well, recording in quad mode set at 5 seconds saves about a 1M file, not bad since I put a 32G SD card in, ran for weeks before overwriting the first files, the daylight pictures are very good, don't really use the 2 way speaker part but it does work, would be nice if you used at the front door to ask who they are and what they want without going to the door, I would recommend to a friend if they were looking for an affordable system, this is not one of those high-end system but neither is the price. I plan to add another camera, maybe 2 in the next couple of months, as long as the system keeps working as it has been.

Too soon to tell really, I have only had the system in operation a few days...

Initial impression upon purchase was "Wow - sounds like it does a lot for the money!"

And it does, but during my short experience with this system, I have had several issues, but they all have mysteriously disappeared!

First the unit went from recording to not recording back to recording again...

Second, several video files would not open - for me to review. Guess what - that too, just resolved itself!!!!

Third - I do not know if the night vision works yet, because I opted to put the camera inside the house, looking out and behind the picture window..... When it gets dark, the infrared lights in the camera contribute to a wild reflection off of the glass window, and the unit will not record at all.....

As time goes by, and I tweak changes to the set-up here and there - I believe the overall system operation will improve.....

System was easy to set up. Confusing at first with all the features that you must learn to maximize to suit your needs. After using a few days, the recording is very spotty. At some times, it doesn't record my exiting of my house or entering. A lot of false recordings as well. Perhaps it's the camera failing already?

I am a first time owner. This is a great product for anyone who wants to "see" what is going on around their property, whether you are home or not. These cameras are of great quality when it comes to color and clarity. Best of all they have their own monitor that can have up to four cameras at one time. Night vision, speakers, fully adjustible, motion detectors....great extras to have! Watch as your packages are delivered, if they were handled with care or not! See when the mail comes..watch as your child gets on the bus....see who might drive slowly by your home or walk up to your porch...live or recorded, you choose! You feel SO much more secure with these cameras. WARNING: You will want to get more! I want another to monitor my pool out back now!

Ah, this has really been a frustrating, unimaginable journey trying to reach Lorex.

I wanted to talk to someone at Lorex. Not possible. I have made 25 phone calls, Monday through Friday to Customer Service and Tech Support.
Tech support recording tells you the wait is 40 minutes. One day I let the phone ring for 1 hour and 15 minutes and no one answered. They are supposed to be on hand 24/7 for help.

Calling Customer Service (M-Fri. only) you will find that no matter what number you pick from their menu the phone disconnects.

I do not know if the camera of the kit is defective. All I know is that everything is working properly between the camera and the receiver (monitor) with the exception of the Infrrared night vision. It worked for the first 2 evenings and then all of a sudden on the 3 night, there was no Infrared night vision, just a grainy picture.

If a company can not provide technical assistance/support for products they sell (especially el;ectronics), in my opinion they should not be in business.

At this time the vendor through which I purchased the product has been in touch with Lorex and assures me that someone will be in touch with me tomorrow.

Only Lorex can answer the questions I have and untril that time I am keepingm all digits crossed that I will hear from them.

Rating the product as 3 stars because only one component is sadly not working.

I bought this product in April of this year, instillation was easy and quick, and I really enjoyed the added security it gave me. Then things started acting funny. At first it wouldn't let me change back from viewing the cameras into picture viewing mode. OK. I can live with that. Then a week later, camera 2 stopped working. So I have tired EVERYTHING to make it work again, but the receiver will not let me turn camera 2 on. I have tried REPEATEDLY to get in touch with Lorex, and I just keep getting put on hold. I am NOT IMPRESSED. This product is CRAP and so is their SERVICE.

Ordered the LW2731AC1 Series system with baseunit/monitor and two additional cameras 6 months ago. Everything was set up and running fine in no time. However, now the Monitor has gone extremely white screen, and locks up when trying to change some functions in the menu, IF you can even see the screen. I plugged another monitor into the A/V output and all cameras work great and look good. Tech support agrees the Monitor unit is bad. I am waiting for Customer Support to send me a RMA number and a new Unit. Previously I had an older unit with two cameras and it worked great for several years. I hope to get the same service from this system once it is repaired..Tech Services and Customer Support both have been curtious and prompt. I have recommended this system to several persons but because of this incident I can only give this system 4 stars

This is an excellent system in every way. I had tried a less expensive Lorex and Uniden system first and the LW 491 HD / LW2932 system runs circles around them for two main reasons - the remote access system is very easy to set up and ACTUALLY WORKS (I have monitored my home from both the US and Canada with ease on the iPhone APP) - and - the 720 P cameras have great clarity and sensitivity both indoors and outdoors night and day. (I actually have the flight of a bee caught with an outside mounted camera!) These were the 2 issues with the cheaper systems - remote access was a pain or really did not work and the cameras had the resolution of a coke bottle.

This is a great wireless system very easy to setup and operate and delivers what it promises in a very cost effective bundle. It sure beats stringing co-axial cable all over your home!

We purchased the LW2731 single camera for our garage which is about 150' away from the house. The camera to monitor installation was already preset; installation of the camera was very easy. Just had to drill one hole for the wire, we already had an outlet inside the garage. The reception at first was not reliable, we would get "OUT OF RANGE" every now and then. Had an old external antenna (Airlink) that I plugged into the monitor and now we have full bar reception. Should mention that our home is a brick ranch, so is the garage. Camera works very well, color during the day, black and white at night. Like the fact that it creates an .avi file each time motion is detected. It also records time and date on each file. The SD card plugs right into our notebook, so it's very easy to view the files. Controls on the monitor are also very user friendly. This is our second week with the Lorex. Considering purchasing another single camera for our front door.

I love my Lorex surveillance system. I live in a side by side home and I cannot see my driveway from my living room, therefore if someone pulls into my driveway and comes to my door I have no idea who it is unless I go out on my deck to view the driveway. I am a single woman so I really appreciate the ease of installation. The only requirement was a trip to the hardware store to purchase a bigger drill bit so I could drill a big enough hole for the end of the wire to fit through. Once I did that, the rest of the install was simple. I mounted the camera above the eave over my sidewalk. Now with my system I can see when someone pulls into my driveway. I wish I had purchased the system with two cameras, as I had to choose whether to view the driveway or the front door. I wasn't sure if I would like the system and if it would fit my needs. I will still be able to use the intercom feature if I wish to communicate with a visitor that comes to my front door. Before having my system I was not aware of what went on in the front of my house, and sure enough I caught my neighbor running across my driveway to retrieve her dog from my yard. The great thing was my son played the recording back to me so I could see it. This is a neighbor that we are not on good terms with. They seem to think my property is also their property, one of the drawbacks to living in a multifamily style home. The only issue I am having is that I do not have a computer that plays a CD rom and I am not able to find where the drivers are on the Lorex website, so I am having issues downloading the drivers to my tablet so I can view the camera via Skype when I am away.

Overall the system is great. Video and audio quality is better than expected. One disappointment is the range for the wireless cameras, with signal fading at about 30 feet from outside thru a wall to the indoor monitor/receiver. Set up of the two factory paired cameras was automatic. Paring of the two additional cameras required a call to tech support that meant waiting thru a 45 minute on-hold period.

The system is simple to set up. Just plug in the power to both units and it works. But if you need help with advanced settings. Expect a 40 to 45 minute wait or longer with tech support. Also after telling the tech person I've been waiting for over 45 minutes for someone to answer. What happens? Bam placed on hold again without the option to say if I want to hold again. I felt rushed when the rep did speak with me. So if your buying your treated pretty good quite promptly. If you need assistance, dont have anything planned for about a hour and a half. That is the complete time it took to get three to four questions answer. For a decent quality product with a affordable price you cant go wrong. The remote access is good but cancels out normal video/audio recording. So far the system works great. The option for picture frame standby is nice. The system is five stars by far. The customer tech support waiting time gets you only three stars.

I have had this product for about a week now, but I have learned to use it better every day. It is easy to install and the picture quality is very good. You can customize the receiver to fit the way you want to use it. The sensitivity of the motion in the video can be adjusted, as well as turned off, which I prefer. The delivery of my Lorex LW2932 was very quick after ordering through the Lorex web store. The unit worked 1 day and stopped recording suddenly. The following morning called Lorex Technical service. We did some troubleshooting to find out the SD card reader was defective. I was asked to return only the defective monitor. Little did i know I had to pay $35 for shipping the unit. Not well appreciated. I wanted to confirm this with Customer Service. Unable to reach anyone. Pressed a button for them to call me back. 48 hours later still no call back. The customer service is awful. Almost was tempted to return the whole thing and search for a better company. The defective monitor has arrived at the Return Center. Now I wonder how long it will take to see a new monitor.
The product in general is an inexpensive way to get home security of a decent quality. But the SD card reader has to be reliable and of better quality. It it doesn't work as expected, it's like not having a home security at all.

Its decent so far. Owned it for a couple days now, except one of my cameras seem to be defective. Its detecting motion/recording when there is nothing around even when i turn the sensitivity off. Dont know if its the monitor or camera itself. Contacted customer support today by email and they only took a couple hrs to respond, sending replacement camera right away. Besides that, my only gripe would be when viewing in quad mode, since it comes with 2 cameras, it should view in split screen instead of having half the screen black, kinda makes you want to buy 2 more cameras. The two way microphone works good. The monitor should be portable, which its not or atleast make some kind of rechargeable battery for it. Overall i think its a good system

Overall its good.

Have had the product for a couple of weeks now and it works just as described. I have not connected to the computer for remote access as yet but will in the future. The camera resolution is fine. I was told by a security company that wired cameras are the only way to go. I would have to say - not so much...

I was very content with my Lorex system up until it was having issues.
I've only owned this product since March 1, 2014, & its not even 3
months old. The screen blanks when it's on motion & it does not
record. When ever I want it to play back I have to turn it off, remove
the SD chip & reboot it every time. It won't allow me to set it back to
the factory settings either & it tends to freeze constantly! I've contacted
Lorex's warranty department & they agree with me that it's a defect. We
are in the process of getting it replaced. Other than that, it's fine!

nice system when you have to go wireless. would like to see dual beam technology to improve on the amount of false triggers. dual beam meaning microwave and ir both have to be active to trigger. this tech is not new and is well proven. this would be more beneficial to outdoor applications where ambient temp and wind seem to trigger these cameras with sensitivity settings on low.

I bought this system to replace an IP camera that was just a big headache if you're not an experienced IT technician. Once you figured out where you were putting the cameras and getting power to them, the setup was simple, you pretty much just plugged them in and away it went. I have the cameras outside looking into my driveway. picture is very clear day or night. night vision and microphones work great. The entire system is easy to use. I haven't tried watching remotely yet (you need to use Skype) but it doesn't look like a big ordeal.
I had issues with one camera giving nearly constant false motion triggers but customer service suggested I pair the camera on a different channel and that solved it. I wish you could set the sensitivity of the motion detect (you can for daytime camera motion but not the night heat motion detection). I liked enough I have ordered an additional camera.

What a nightmare
bought 1 two camera from best buy, seemed to work good
Bought a second set on line direct from lorex - bad move
the first monitor I was told was bad according to lorex, want me to return at my cost to replace.
The second monitor doesn't work either.
Have spent no less than 2 -3 hours on the phone with the teck dept., as I am typing this
They don't answer the phone, you can be on hold for at least an hour, and if your luck.

I will be curious if this post gets removed, if it does, I will start posting on other sites that rate this item, including retail stores and teck magazines

Wireless camera(s) and monitor work well. For the most part plug and play. Range is overall good and the intercom is an excellent bonus feature. The motion sensor is also very effective and records only when needed.

The system has met our needs of being able to monitor the front office door if the receptionist is away from her desk.

Your instructions on how to get a second Skype account leave something to be desired. On the other hand, it may just be incompetence on my part. Whichever is the case, I cannot view my Lorex camera from my iPhone and that is why I bought the Lorex gear. Your technical experts have not been helpful. This ticket business is not easy to appreciate. As fast as I can open one, you close it and nothing has been accomplished.

I purchased a 4 camera wireless system and the product was different than I imagined based on the description. Wireless range not very good, and it doesn't take much to prevent signal from reaching the receiver even though it is well within the advertised range. The cameras are advertised as outdoor, but they are only water resistant, not water or weather proof. The 9 volt power supply to the cameras are also for indoor, not outdoor use. Having to install weather proof boxes was not in my planning for the installation for these cameras. I also contacted the company to see if I could get extension cables for the power supplies and I was informed to go online and try to find them as they did not. If I'd have known about all of this I could have gotten a wired system for a lesser amount of money and about the same amount of work that I'm having to put in now.

This LW 2731AC1 series is the best thing since popcorn! I love this new wireless system. It worked exactly as indicated and really exceeded my expectation. Setup was simple and flawless. The distance and location for this unit is amazing. I have placed two of the wireless cameras in a very difficult location up high and under the overhang of the roof. It is approximately 24 feet from the ground and a distance of about 90 feet from my monitor. They worked flawless and the night vision is great, clear and bright after total darkness. I now have to decide where to place the two add on cameras I purchased with the unit. They are paired and working fine, now for the final install. I have an 8 camera wired unit already installed and this wireless solution performs better than the wired, much clearer and record is simple with the SD card. I would recommend this to anyone, especially if you are technology challenged. It is so easy to set up.

I/we 1st googled and checked average priced, average picture quality(Not HD.. cha-ching), wireless camera surveillance system reviews. The Lorex brand was one that seemed to show up in quite a few reviews. So... I/we ordered the LW2932 system. (I do have to say that it was shipped pretty quick.)

The set-up was pretty quick as well. With a couple of minor issues, 1st. our system didn't like start-up(turning on) with the SD card installed. 2nd. line of sight for cameras in detached garage wasn't the best for signal strength/quality, so had to order the Omni-Directional Antenna for the receiver/monitor. Of which brought the signal strength up to par. Would recommend ordering one at the same time when purchasing system. Also... the power cord could be a bit longer.

Overall however, since tweaking and correct placement of cameras(about 1-2 hrs by myself) I would have to say that the reviews that I/we had read prior to purchase, were pretty much on mark. It seems to be a pretty decent system for the money. Unless you have the $$ to go Hi-Def. Cha-Ching. I'd recommend the Lorex system.

This product was very easy to set up within the system. I had a little trouble setting up the Skype connection because the instructions didn't match the CD in the package. I had to do a little research to figure it out and it still wasn't absolutely clear and had to do a little trial and error but was able to get it working. Still working out a few bugs but I think I will get it resolved. I'm trying to see if I can tie it into my internet and get a DDNS account but it doesn't look like this model can do that.

I purchased the LW2930 series with 2 cameras to view my sheep in the barn while lambing. The monitor went bad in 2 days, got a replacement. The replacement monitor went bad in a month. The box says the range is 650 feet open range(clear line of sight) . My barn is 250 ft away clear line of sight and It blinks in and out of range constantly. The techs then tell you your wireless routers and cell phones affect range( who doesnt have a cell phone) so shouldnt range be based on the way we all live in this tech society? Affect range, mine is less than 1/2 the distance the say it can go. I am so unsatisfied, I wish they had negative stars to rate, it would be a negative 5 stars. I cant get my money back cuz its been 30 days or I would. The worst part is they want me to pay another $119.00 x 2 for antenna range extenders, like I'm suppose to trust them now. I bet the system works for home security but not for my application.

It's a great system!! It took about 15 minutes to set up the 2 cameras that came with the monitor. After I saw how great the videos were I purchased an additional camera to better monitor my yard. The new camera took about 10 minutes to pair, very painless. I tried a Swann Nighthawk system, but, the picture was very grainy and the Infra Red had a range of 26 feet. By the time the motion record was activated, the person was already out of the view of the camera. The system has recorded vehicles coming down my street and activated the motion record from as far as 200 feet. It has recorded a neighbor 2 houses down the street smoking a cigarette at night!!! The cigarette looks like a flash light!!!! The third camera had a problem with the IR sensor, but , I contacted Lorex and they sent me a new one with NO HASSLE. Now everything is working great.

We are very happy with this product. It came with 2 cameras and we bought 2 more........I have had an in home licensed daycare for 38 years and this works well to have a camera each in bedrooms that have little portacribs that babies are sleeping in. I like to be able to see what's going on when I can't be there to watch. We also have one outside mounted on the garage so I can see which parent is coming after their child. This summer when we are in the backyard it will work well with seeing who is walking up the driveway into the gated backyard. In general the product itself is good and easy to set up using the cameras and accompanying monitor. The instructions provided for this are good. But obtaining information to view the cameras on your own PC are sparse and response from the company too long :-(. There are instructions on viewing using a third party application, Skype, but if you don't wish to be connected to this all the time there is no available information on company website or in the written material provided. I contacted technical support three days ago via their email contact and have yet to see a reply. I would rate the product very high and the support very low.

Fairly easy to set up but SKYPE is a pain...and I cant sit there and watch a monitor all day...would be better if they emailed you with motion to check it. Do not like the fact that it records EVERY conversation in the house!!! It also reflects off windows so walking down the hall sets off the motion when the camera is pointed OUTSIDE! Turning on a light also sets it recording and HOW do you delete ONE recording, not ALL??? Not an option!

We bought our model LW2932 because of it's wireless capability and the fact we wanted to see who might be at our front door. We like the ease of use menu it provides on screen and monitor wide angle display. Two cameras seem to be all we need at this time but it is nice to know the we can add two more if needed.

One thing that could be improved is to provide power supply extension cords as an option. I agree with another customers comment about providing 20 ft. or so extension cords to get away from unsightly traditional extension cords.

I am very happy with this product. I especially like the portability of cameras & the monitor. I have slight problem with signals cutting in and out. A bit annoying. I have tried all locations & it just seem to do that. It is just for a second or two, so you still get full coverage. Viewing all 4 cameras at once, even if you only have two = the picture is very tiny. I would like to see having only 2 camera views at once in a spit screen so the pictures are larger. Also I would like when the cameras rotate on the screen that they stay there longer so you can focus to see better. It is a VERY GOOD product for the money & I doubt you will find anything as good. They give you a 2-year warrantee when you write a review! That tells a lot, they stand behind this product.

Overall I am pleased with this system. The range of the wireless cameras was the main reason for its purchase and works much better than my previous system. I did however have to purchase the omni antenna and one directional attention but that camera is broadcasting over 400 feet. Instead of purchasing more directional antennas for the other cameras, i simply bout antenna extension cables and positioned the antenna line of sight works great and much less expensive. The camera mounts are hard to work with and hard to get locked down - I will replace these with better quality ones later. My only disappointment is the image switching speed when trying to view full speed. It is way too fast between camera images. I filed a ticket with customer service and then responded to tell me how to change the time in the screen saver - which is not the problem. I responded back and 4 weeks later I still have no answer and my ticket says my request is "pending". I also wish the system had a remote control for the receiver - my Uniden had one and it was really convenient. If you are looking for a system with a lot of range - this one works but when they mean line of sight they mean it.

This product was all that it was advertised to be and more. Simply place camera where you want it, plug in it's power cord. Then, do the same with the monitor and it's working. It indeed is plug and play. Great product, clear videos and viewing. The price was reasonable through Amazon. I received merchandise within 2 days. Very well thought out and designed system with many extras. I am now ordering an add on camera since up to 4 can be monitored.

AT THIS TIME: I'll rate it at a 2 because of the issues I am having.
1. The wireless camera power cords are only about 6' long. This is no where near long enough to mount on a house (in most instances) without having to run extension cords for power. Currently Lorex does not offer an extension cable for this so I had to splice in a longer wire for it to work.
2. I am using a mac. The instructions state that I can remote view using Snow Leopard 10.6 or above with a duel core intel processor. That is what I have. It then states that you must ALSO have Safari 6. Well guess what. Safari 6 does not work with any OS earlier than 10.7 (Lion).
3. I have connected everything properly according to the instructions. I can remote view from my android without any issues at all; however, the DVR system will not operate on the local computer that it is attached to. Remote is working; however, NOTHING will show on the monitor. No menu, no controls, no mouse, notta, zip, zero. I don't know if the system is recording and can't make any changes to the defaults.
4. It's Saturday. Lorex has no technical support available on weekends.
If Lorex is able to successfully guide me to corrections soon, I will reevaluate my rating.

I purchased the LW2730 wireless home monitoring system for the specific use of it's ability to mount the camera out doors and for it's night vision, Installation, for me, was no trouble at all. I must comment that the User's Guide is extremely helpful and should be read!
I have been using this system for several days (and nights) and it has performed flawlessly.
The only con I have about the whole system is my personal wish that the night vision extended about 20 to 30 feet more than it does. However, it performs excellently in the advertised range.
The whole system is well made and I expect to get years of service from it. I will probably be looking into adding another camera to this system soon.
Bottom line, a great wireless home monitoring system for the price.

I was very concerned when I bought this system, But I was relieved of all my worries when I installed the camera system. It worked like a charm, very easy install. I am very happy with this security camera system. I had to install a camera 150 ft. and signal had to go thru a brick wall. I kept thinking I was going to have to return the system, but I got a clear picture with no problems. I am going to buy 2 more cameras. Works great. Thank You.

After being held up at gunpoint on my front porch and being forced into my home, I felt so unsafe and violated. After shopping around and comparing products online.... Not only did I find Lorex to be the better system, but they were also the most reasonably priced! It was simple to set up and learn how to use the system. It also has great reception and the picture at night (and during the day), is absolutely amazing! Now I feel better about being in my home alone, and I no longer need to stress during work knowing I can be sure my home is safe by looking at my ipad. Thank you Lorex!

Good product. Easy to install. Worked right out of the box. Instructions were clear. Only problem is that it interferes with my old 'G' wifi network on a line of sight basis, though I was able to work around it by putting the wireless receiver at another location where it didn't interfere. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a small easy to install all-in one video surveillance system.

I am very unhappy with this product. First few days I had it there was condensation on the lens and items missing from the box. I was told they would send the replacement items and camera but they still did not send the screws that I need that were supposed to come with the mounting stand kit. I can't mount the stands without screws. Another problem is that it says that it is an outdoor camera and that is decieving because it is not. On the outside of the box but when you open it up it claims to be an outdoor camera but only after you purchase it does it state inside the box that in fact it cannot sustain rain or snow. Not much good for an outdoor camera. Even if you put it under shelter like I have been forced to do it still gets condensation on the camera lens making the photo blurry and therefore useless. Customer service is agravating too because they argue with you about what is included in the box and what is not and if you buy two boxes you know what one came with and the other box should have the exact same items beings it is the same exact product and model but they still argue with you. Or they say they will send you replacement parts but then don't send you items like the screws you need to install the replacement parts. Wishing I would have went with another brand.

I had decided on this particular system some time back but had other priorities to take care of first. I am so glad we now have the system installed and it works great! We live in a rural area and on a somewhat isolated county road and our home sets well off the road. We feel so much more secure being able to "watch over" things. We leave the unit primarily in the screen saver mode (no photo frame useage) but sometime I turn it on when something might be happening at the end of the driveway or where ever. The 4 cameras work realy well and the clarity is awesome.

I would certainly recommend this system to anyone desiring "real time survelliance"! All of our cameras are set up for exterior survelliance. The installation was a breeze! By the way, the price of the unit is very reasonable.

I received the system as a gift. The giver interpreted the Wireless Home Monioring System didn't require 110 volt power to the cameras and receiver. I am using the system for outside montoring. The challange was providing power to the cameras with 12 foot cable and receptical power adapters.

The camera mounting stands were easy to install and good camera adjustment. Once the instalation was complete the system, the system worked faultlessly with good signal strenght. We are using all the features except Screen Saver Picture Frame mode and Viewing the Camera Remotely.

I would recommend the unit but be mindfull that power is required to the cameras that have a receptical power adapter.

Just purchased 2 more LW2932 wireless systems, in addition to the one I already have. The temperatures have been bitterly cold, down to 0 degrees F, and the cameras are working well. The 2-way communication is great......we use it mostly when our pit bull is barking so we can talk to her to tell her she is a good girl for barking....or to chill out and stop barking at the squirrels! When it snows,if you have it on motion detect, it will keep on recording, so I leave it on full time quad record throughout the storm. These systems work fine and we are very happy with them.

The main reason I purchased this product was the intercom feature. I have to admit the speaker is loud enough for an entryway. I'm looking forward for the next door to door salesman so I can play some Jigsaw audio clips over the intercom.
I would recommend this product to any homeowner. The only issue is the need for a spool of power cable to run the cameras to a power supply. I have no need to run the standard surveillance camera cable which is pretty easy to find, but why buy that when you only need the power cable?
Great product so far!

This unit has good audio and video with playback on the SD card. I like this product a lot but do have some wishes for change. I love that the monitors are so adjustable that you can work out practically any viewing option. The color is very good and no matter how far away, (my car), there is no doubt about what you are looking at. I even get some sound through my windows. I was sad that I could not use them outside my windows because I live in an area with extreme temperature changes and it is not recommended above or below certain temps. Good quality system. Easy to set up and monitor. I started with 2 cameras and will probably expand to 4.
A couple of minus points: (1) Cameras do not have an operating light (red or green) to show a thief that the camera is real.
(2) The sales literature does not clearly identify the fact that the infrared night vision will not work through a glass window. The camera must be installed outside to catch any burglars before they break in.

Just set up the LW2730 system. Love this camera system! I'm a senior who is not that technical. It's truly a "plug and play" system with only minimal tech knowlege required by us. Have not set it up using Skype yet, that may be a task for me, but I will give it a shot.

I purchased this system after reviewing several other brands because most people found it easy to use. Several other brands had many complaints about the set up and operating features. The only thing that I was not happy about is the night viewing and the lack of contrast being black and white, but all camera systems would probably have that same problem. For the price, this system is far better than anything else in the price range and certainly offers a lot of upgraded features found in more expensive systems..

I saw this item on display at Best Buy. Went home and read reviews which were very favorable. I bought the 9" monitor with 2 cameras. Set up was easier than I thought. Better yet, the picture provided by the cameras was unbelievable. Then I tried the two way intercom, which was just as good. I have a large house and mounted cameras to afford me a view of the entire yard. Now I can tell when my mail comes, see vehicles in my driveway and can also listen to people as they walk by my house. After two days, I ordered an additional 2 cameras. Mating the 3rd and 4th camera's to the monitor took about 5 minutes. The only bad thing is when I called the Lorex tech line with questions about different monitors, I had to wait 15 minutes to get a live person. None the less, a 5 star purchase.

Down side? Cords from the monitor to electrical plug are way too short. I have the one upstairs on top of my hutch desk and it is strained and sitting right on the edge. But while I work for hours, I can see if someone is at my gate, like the UPS delivery guy; or my car needs my attention in the other direction. Great view from second floor too. Downstairs, I use the cameras for the front and back of the house focused on the gates and yards. That one is not the exact same unit, but is the same company. I think this is an upgraded one. Again, the downstairs one needs a longer cord but works sitting atop a floor standing speaker instead of mounted on the wall as I would like. Also, this one has the capability of using 4 cameras which is great, but since I only use two, it would be nice to open the view to half screens instead of quarter screens.

Overall the system is easy to set up and use. The resolution is good for my purposes, but I would be an improvement if the quad recordings had the option of maintaining the same resolution as that of the original videos within the quad (would use 4 times the memory space to accomplish this). I think the audio is very good with more than adequate sensitivity.

I agree with others reviewing this product that scan mode with quad display would be very desirable.

The only problem I have is that camera two seems to trigger repeatedly for several minutes falsely, after a valid motion trigger. This gives me several images to review that should not have been recorded.

Installed easily and worked well at first. It was along distance from inside our detached garage to inside our kitchen. I did use a stronger antenna that I had in place of the one that came with it for the receiver. This improved the consistency of the signal.

Purchased this camera system about 2 weeks ago. It was super easy to set up! Instructions are easy to follow. Just plug in camera, plug in the LCD receiver...and you've got a picture! We had a wooden box.....painted it camouflage...mounted camera inside.....ran an extension cord.....we can put camera wherever we want. We have no recption problems. Pictures are clear....day pics are colorful....night pics are clear black and white. When you install the SD card, you can start recording. It is very sensitive...it picks up all motion..but it is adjustable to suit your needs. We bought 2 more cameras because they are so easy to install using outdoor extension cords. We are able to cover an extensive area using 4 cameras. Allin all, this system works great and is very simple to use. We would recommend this system. It is a good value for the money. Thanks!!!!

Super product love it. Opened the box, read the quick start instructions, plugged everything in and it started working beautifully. Set up was easy, read the book and it was off and running. Great picture, easy operation. I have a 4GB SD card and with the camera's running 24/7 it took 7 weeks to fill the SD Card. Today I bought a 32GB SD Card and installed it just to see how long it will take to fill it up. Have a 3000 SF house and the wireless range is excellent from anywhere in the house. I think the system is terrific and the price was right.

I actually purchase the Model LW3451x, but since your drop down bar does not have the LW3451x model your representative suggested I just choose any model, the actual Model is not LW2932 but LW3451x.
my comment and reviewis for LW3451x and I love it, especially the Pan/tilt zoom feature and view it even when I'm outside of the house.
But for the durability no comment yet because I just put it up 2 days ago, too early to tell.

MY IN-LAWS BOUGHT THIS SYSTEM FOR THEIR HOME AND STATED THEY REALLY LIKED IT. I WENT OVER AND CHECKED IT OUT AND LIKED WHAT I SEEN. I BOUGHT MY OWN SYSTEM FOR MY HOME. IT CAME WITH TWO CAMERAS AND WAS AS SIMPLE AS PLUGING IT IN TO ELECTRICAL OUTLETS TO MAKE IT WORK. THEN JUST READING THE MANUAL TO SET IT UP THE WAY I WANTED IT TO WORK. IT CAN HANDLE UP TO FOUR CAMERAS ON THIS UNIT. I WISH I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE FOUR CAMERA SYSTEM AS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN CHEAPER BECAUSE NOW I WANT TO ADD TWO MORE CAMERAS AND EACH EXTRA CAMERA WILL RUN YOU AROUND A HUNDRED DOLLARS OR MORE. THE CAMERAS WORK GREAT INSIDE. I TRIED AIMING THEM OUTSIDE THROUGH GLASS AND THEY WORK GREAT IN DAYLIGHT BUT AT NIGHT THE NIGHT VISION IR LEDS REFLECT OFF THE GLASS AND ALL YOU SEE IS REFLECTION. I SUSPOSE THAT I WILL HAVE TO MOUNT THEM ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE GLASS TO GET THEM TO WORK PROPERLY. ALL IN ALL I LIKE THIS HOME MONITORING SYSTEM.

I purchased this product at a retail store. The installation was very simple and fast. The quality of the cameras going from the top of a second story home to the driveway is awesome. I use this for only outside. I will look to add another camera to cover more area. I love the wireless connections. I have only had these cameras a few days but they had no problems in a major afternoon thunderstorm (1 1/2" rain in about 45 minutes).

It is very easy even for a beginer to install and run the system. The cameras work well and the image of LCD monitor is good. But the memory size of SD card is not enough. The capacity should be 16GB or 32 GB at the least for recording purpose. Vedio provided in Lorex web-site does not help understand installation and/or operation at all.

Good Surveillance for Beginner

I got my front and back doors covered with the 2 cameras included. Took 30 minutes to install both outdoors. I stationed them near windows with electrical outlets close by, so I just fed the wire through the screen and locked the window. I did like the remote monitoring through Skype so I can view the cameras through my iphone. But getting the cameras Skype account linked through my Skype account took over an hour. Then once it linked, there's a bit of delayed recording (I could walk past the front door and leave before the empty porch showed up on my phone). So I just don't view remotely because it records on the screen and I can view the memory card later that week. Overall good for the intended purpose.

I purchased this wireless system to avoid another wires security installation and at first I thought this system would be headache free. On the contrary, i have all 4 cameras outdoors within 60ft of the monitor and all 4 of them had weak to no signal. I decided to add an antenna booster along with extra cable from the monitor to be closer to the signal. This did help but i consistently have all 4 cameras going from red to yellow which means the signal is not that strong. The system is advertised as having a range of up to somewhere around 200m outdoors. I cannot even get a signal from 50ft. I am very dissatisfied with the quality of lorex. This is not the first lorex system I have had. The last one was also a POS but I took a chance on them again based on high reviews from this model. I would advise against this particular model for wireless security.

Very good product when first starting out a security system. Being able to record to a SD card is a huge plus.

Right now I'm having a issue with the "recorded" videos only being 1kb big. Seems to only do it after it records 1 day of video and that days video records have no problems.

The display at the Best Buy store where I bought the unit caught my eye and I purchased one. I liked the monitor. Wish it came with 4 cameras instead of 2. Getting the system up and running wasn't difficult at all. The mounting screws should be larger(I used my own). Both cameras are outside. They operate with no transmission faults going through outside and inside walls. Colors are very good. Distinction is very good. I did buy 2 more cameras to cover areas not close to front and rear doors.

This is a very nice system and is easy to get up and running. Instruction book is is nicely written and easy to understand. Range is impressive and has not been a problem... even when going through 5 interior walls. Make sure the camera antenna is pointing up as I had one camera giving many false motion alarms due to the fact that I had the antenna facing forward toward the lens! Camera resolution good but not great. I only wish that the scan mode (used to black out display) would operate in quad mode. Thanks

Works like a charm

This was my first security system. I had a near break in about 6 months ago which prompted this effort. After some research on line and in stores I decided on this Lorex LW2932. All I had to do was place each camera near where I wanted to monitor (two doors)and each close to an electrical outlet. Secure each camera and point, then set up the screen and "WHA-LA" I'm watching both doors and recording any activity night and day 24/7 even when were away. Little "chirps" let you know the camera's see activity!!! Perfect!!! Could not be any simpler faster, and convenient! I plan to add two more camera just because I can now, with out any issues. BTW with some wire-mold and paint from Home Depot all my cords are hidden and looks real professional. This system does so much more then I expected, like recording any activity on this small video card (no DVR necessary) and keeps rolling over. See's perfectly at night and the audio works great. What can you say, quality simplicity, priced right!!! BTW best price was Amazon!!

I have been satisfied with the product. I bought two systems, an LW2932 (2 cameras) and an LW491 (4 cameras). Although some product literature described the monitors in each system as being slightly different, and described the LW491 as having a remote control, there was no remote and the two monitors were identical. Lack of the remote was not a concern, I didn't plan to use it. Having both monitors identical was a plus - there is not as much learning curve.

Range is good. The one feature I would wish for that the system does not provide is the ability to use the screen saver or blank screen feature at the same tine as the "quad view" when all 4 cameras are displayed simultaneously. If one is rotating the camera display from camera to camera, only the first camera will begin to record; others will not. The only way to record from all cameras simultaneously is to use the "quad display."

We keep the monitors on our night stands; the monitor's brightness bothers my wife in quad display. If we use the rotating feature and the blank screen at night, we do not get recording from all cameras; ours are set up to ensure identification of faces, and just one camera may not provide what we need.

Otherwise, a very good system.

I haven't owned a cam system before and while I have nothing to compare it to, I can describe what I've experienced. Currently, 2 cams are outside; 2 are inside temporarily. Those outside have just gone through a torrential downpour. (Not directly exposed, but close.) They show no evidence of failures or faults.

We had a lot of lightning strikes which caused power drops. Afterwards, the monitor wouldn't work. I called tech support and within 5 minutes, they found the issue....I had not formatted the SD card. (It says to in the manual.)

I'd really like a ten second choice between the 5 and 15 choice. Overall, I believe the system works well, is pretty easy to set up and component quality seems at least above par. As in all things...time will tell ;)

Operation has been seamless, scans, pans, zooms and does what it's supposed to so far (2 weeks). I am slightly disappointed that the picture quality is not sharper. Then again, I don't have anything to compare to. The recording time goes from 5 seconds to 15 andcI'd rather see a ten second choice available.

Inside pictures are as good as outside and you really can't complain about the price!

We are very pleased with our purchase and the ease of initial setup. It was working within 10 minutes of opening the box. Quality of color pictures is very good. Mounting hardware provided works well, however the power supply system could use improving. Making optional DC adaptor extension cables available would help installation tremendously. I could have used 2, 20ft DC extension cables and hid them from view easily. When 110v power outlets are located further than 6 or 7 feet from each camera, it makes the use of unsightly extension cords necessary. I noticed on many other reviews, that other customers had the same comment. I inquired with sales prior to purchase to ask if they could tell me the size of the DC connectors, because Amazon had some 25ft cables available. Unfortunately they did not know.
The connection to Skype was unsuccessful for us using our MacBook Air. The Skype preferences would not recognize the Lorex camera "Wireless Monotoring System" selection, only the built in internal FaceTime camera. We felt the effort to call tech support for help probably wasn't worth it for us, since the benefits of watching one camera live remote feed, probably wouldn't get us much.

Very easy to install and pair up the two extra cameras (plug and play). The features on the equipement "Nice". Still working on the Skype. Love that it beeps when something or somebody is within range of the cameras, also like the ease of changing from quad to single view. Now the recording start time has a bit of a delay or lag time when it kicks in. I would ask/recommend that this be inproved with future or current models. Night vision it's good not great. Audio work great hear the birds chirping every morning. The power cord to the monitor should have a longer reach so that it could be a bit more Mobile.
