I purchased this system to monitor my grandchildren in the swimming pool and my driveway. Immediately I noticed that the 7" monitor had a pixel problem displaying several black lines through the screen. After doing everything that I was supposed to do and speaking with technical support who finally determined that my monitor needed to be replaced and would be shipped in 7-10 days it was only after several phone calls with the same response "it will be shipped in 7-10 days" I received a new monitor in about 7 weeks. Opened the new monitor, paired my cameras as instructed and all i get on my screen is "no firmware detected". I'm done with Lorex. Have two monitors, two cameras and a lot of aggravation. I refuse to go through all the hoops to try to get my new monitor working. Going to look for a reputable company and reliable system. Do your self a favor and do not even consider this company. I don't think it is a coincidence that many of the reviews have the same complaints (bad monitor, slow response for replacement, overall junk system).

Would not recommend thisproduct video playback is slow and poor quality and constantly powers off. It doesn't work properly when I needed it most. Very unreliable. The only nice thing is it doesn't require a wifi connection

I got this camera a little over a year ago so of course the warranty is up. Cameras always seemed to glitch and freeze while recording so you miss what happened, even with strong signal on all cameras. Unit's main problem was it powering off randomly and missing everything when I'd go to check on it. Called to try and buy another monitor, they don't make it anymore and no other units are compatible with the cameras so I have to buy a whole new system and they only offered a 15% discount on a new system. Going to try another brand, disappointed I wasted the money on this and only got a year and 1/2 out of it.

The cameras were easy to install and work to my satisfaction. The picture quality is clear. However, on the first day I hooked up the system, the monitor was malfunctioning. I contacted customer service and was told they would honor the warranty and send me a replacement monitor. I trust I should receive the monitor within 7-10 days as informed. Once I receive the monitor, I plan on purchasing another camera.
Already had another Lorex system, but wanted this one because of the wireless factor and has 4 cameras. Generally just use it as a monitor
and not for recording. Did purchase at the sale price and its pretty good quality for the price. One of the cameras did not work, but I called customer service and they took care of it, sending me a new unit without any hassle.

Pleased overall with this cctv system, particularly ease of installation & set-up. The operating options, recording & playback were soon understood and system is working well.
Only disappointment is the split screen for recording & playback does not allow for the 2 x camera version to display 50/50 (giving larger pictures), only works as quarter view (set for 4 x cameras). Why? This is not explained prior to purchase, but I am getting along with it.

I had done my research on a lot of cctv systems but the lorex came out best as it has everything I need all in one eg:
two wireless cameras which are easy to screw into the wall and setup (I was expecting metal but they are plastic although they are sturdier than they look),
A decent sized monitor( I was expecting 7inch to be too small to view two cams on but I can see very clearly) you can select hd or vga view but I find vga a lot sharper for some reason.
And to top it all off I can also watch on my phone when I'm out & about, even checking back recordings on my phone.
Plus the signal is great.
I really am pleased I brought this it really is worth the price you pay for what you get and ease of you as you might get similar on auction sites but they are far too complex to setup.

The system was very easy to set up, works great for what I needed and the cost didn't break the bank.
I bought the LW2744 a few days ago. Some goods and bads. Set up was easy, cameras came up on screen no issues. Picture is fair for VGA. On the down side. Motion detection is not usable. Even at the lowest sensitivity setting with everything blocked off but one small square aimed at a blank wall, I get continuous motion detection events, typically with 2 seconds or less between events at night and sometimes as much as 5 seconds during the day. I tested this turning on one camera at a time with no discernible difference. If you have a MAC it appears there is no software to view the movies on. If you have a PC then I think your in luck. Bottom line: If what you want is just to monitor an area either with constant recording on, or no recording then this is an easy system to set up and use with the only exception of MAC not being supported to watch playback.

Product was easy to install and setup. The quality of the picture is not as I'd hoped. I put a 32 GB card in and didn't need to do anything. I thought the wifi meant that it was compatible with my home network and veiwable through an app on my phone but, it's actually closed circuit wifi. This is a good low cost solution.
Very easy to setup, the quality of the night vision is great.
Onot wished I would had read the box first I wanted one that I could also stream via my smartphone. Maybe, an upgrade at a later time. I am very pleased.

I think I am going to love this camera video surveilance system. Love the fact it is wireless. Love that the monitor can be carried to different rooms. Love the clarity of screen. I am having difficulty learning how to operate the monitor to get it to record or set the sensitivity of the motion sensor. I wish the monitor was touch screen like a tablet. The commands still are difficult to navigate but hope I will learn it with practice. I wish when it is in record status that the monitor would show picture in a full screen so viewing activity on monitor was larger. Hoping I will love this product once I fully understand how to get it to operate to fit my needs.

This system was out the box easy to set up. The cameras are clear, especially the night vision and easy to set up. The monitor is portable and also easy to use. I only wish it had the capability to add two additional cameras for more home coverage. Overall very satisfied customer.
that's purchased the Lorax LW 2744 about 3 weeks ago. Installation very simple up and running in about an hour. Then the problem starts. was running great for about a week and a half when the resolution and the pictures turned to crap. next problem, cannot erase SD card,everytime I try monitor freezes. Do your research!system not worth the price tag! 10 for the price that I did pay. There would be better functions better quality equipment

I purchased a Lorex LW2744 4 camera system. The system was very easy to setup and works beautifully. It works extremely well both night and day. Would recommend anyone purchase this unit.
Purchased the LW2742 system and mounted the two cameras outside. The signal is strong from both even though my house is stucco. The system pad is fairly easy to use but am having some difficulty setting the motion detection sensitivity. Everything else seems to operate as indicted.

Purchased the LW2744 and had it up and running one hour afterwards. Using three cameras to monitor outdoor areas and one camera indoors. Installation and set up extremely easy. The camera range is more than adequate for my uses. The LW2744 is a relatively inexpensive surveillance system that offers a lot of the basics and a good picture quality.The video and still images can be moved to your computer by ejecting the memory card and reading them on the computer. Night video is actually pretty good for low resolution. It does illuminate the area itself with 16 little red lights that are visible, but the area doesn't look illuminated to the naked eye. The monitor tablet size is more than adequate to monitor the four live camera views simultaneously. I like the automated mode that cycles through individual camera shots and presents them full screen. I replaced the provided 4GB micro card with a 32GB card. For the price, this technology has met all my needs.

Do not do business with this company. This wireless system says it has a 450 foot range. it is more like 4.5 feet. I was told by the tech support that if I have wires in my walls, wood studs,windows, power lines,or a wireless router they will all interfere with the signal. About 2 weeks after I set it up the monitor stopped working. They told me that a new one will be to me in 7 to 10 days, that was over 60 days ago. After 4 calls to them about the new one and always getting the same 7 to 10 day answer, I sign on this morning and it says my ticket is CLOSED!!! I called the today for the 5th time and they say, We sent out the new battery that I requested... UNBELIEVABLE! I never asked for a battery. Now they say they will look into it and get back to me. I NEVER get any phone calls or emails from them, EVER!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

sensitivity of motion detection is very low, object must be almost 1/4 of the screen to trigger recording.
I would expect motion recording to last until motion ends - not 30 sec, 1 min or 5 min preset.
Playback is very slow and time consuming, user should have options for fast review up to 64X as other surveillance systems do.
Monitor turns off after approximately one hour - not reliable for 24/7 surveillance.

Purchased this system with 4 cameras. System was installed with no problem. It does the job I was hoping it would do. I have recently lost the signal in one camera and cant seem to get it back. Occasionally will temporarily lose a signal in another camera but so far it comes back on. No problem with the other 2 cameras. Hope to get this problem corrected soon but otherwise I am happy with the purchase.
Dont buy this unless they can make it to be able to see the 2 cameras in full screen mode, and to be able to switch in full screen.

The system needs some work. LW-2742 I have two of these systems.
*In (playback) snapshot pictures are not accessible from the pad.
*(video review)...from both the pad and the downloadable SD player for Windows, fast forward is buggy and crashes the player often & sometimes the pad. If I want to review hours of video in a reasonable amount of time this needs to be fixed.
* in schedule setup it only allows 24hr time even if you've selected 12hr time in settings. In the manual, it shows 12hr with AM & PM being possible.
* if you want to access the menu while recording there needs to be more time to allow the access or it starts recording again before you have a chance to get in the menu.
* recording on just one camera allows full resolution & audio, however, when played back on the computer SD player, audio cannot be heard. If played back on the pad you can hear the audio. (It should also be noted clearly that when recording with 2 or more cameras that resolution is cut in half to (320x192) per camera. Don't expect HD here. It's not.
* the asf video files used with system need to be compatible with other media players. If I have a case and need to network with law enforcement, the proprietary SD player is a huge roadblock.
* there are times when reviewing video files on the pad that some camera recorded frames are missing (blue screen). I thought it could be the signal was low during recording, but when reviewing the same file on the PC SD player it shows up. I've seen this in reverse too. A video for a particular camera feed shows up on the pad and not the SD player. What gives.
* put in a brightness level feature for the pad's screen.
The system needs work. I give it 2 1\2 stars Perhaps and update is in order. It has the potential of being a nice entry level system if these items are addressed. 8/4/2015
