I purchased two LNC204s, a LNC234, and a LNC226. All these models are wireless security cameras. The LNC226 is an exterior model that has been done well in cold weather. The LNC204s are heavy duty and it was handy to mount one on the wall, and to place the other on a counter. The LNC234 is a great basic model that serves well as an addition to the LNC204s. The LNC234 does not take up much space and fits nicely in a living space without standing out. These cameras were very simple to set up, and it only took a few minutes. I set them up on both an iphone and ipad. It is also very simple to adjust the different options and settings for each camera on either the phone or ipad. The night vision works great on all three of these models. I travel frequently and the remote feature on these cameras have worked flawlessly. Finally, I have taken both pictures and videos from the cameras to my ipad/iphone, and the quality is great.

I have used the LNC204/216 cameras for several years. Recently I purchased additional units to augment coverage of our vacation home. My experience with the wireless IP units has been quite positive. The one knock I have is with technical support. The wait times are usually quite long. Overall, I'm quite please with Lorex.

I originally purchased one LNC216 back in July to try it first. It only took about 20 mins to setup. I have Motorola android phones and windows PC. It has been working fine so I decided to purchase another this monthto cover the 2nd floor of our house. This unit only took 10 mins to set up experience helped. The picture quality is good and its great to have the local SD card storage vs cloud storage.

I recently installed a Lorex LNC 204 security camera. Set up was very simple on both my IPad and lap top.
The image is extremely clear. The temperature sensor allows me to monitor my vacation home during the winter months from anywhere in the world.

I have used these cameras for several years to monitor my vacation home. The cameras are reliable and packed with features that are quite useful. I recently purchased another camera to have an even better view of what is going on. For my needs these cameras work well and are a good buy especially when there is a sale on.

Second update to my purchase; You CAN view NAS recordings remotely - I'm doing it right now. Why can't these companies provide accurate product documentation?

I also have to report that Lorex customer support has gone AWOL - over a month without a response to a simple question. Have to subtract 1 star for this.

Finally, a significant bug in the iPhone Lorex Ping app - no audio. I can hear the camera microphones from my Samsung galaxy S4 android phone but NADA on the iPhone. Have to subtract another star for this.

LOREX....... any response???

Quick correction to my previous review; you can not view recorded video from the NAS remotely - only if you are on the same network as the NAS/cameras. Not a big deal, really, but a pity as this would otherwise serve as a fully fledged DVR-type video surveillance system. The other remote viewing and recording facilities (SD card, computer had drive) work just fine though.

Great camera, great video resolution and good remote viewing of live- and NAS-recorded video. Would have given it 5 stars except this LNC216 camera and two other LNC200 series camera occasionally and randomly won't connect. Not a frequent problem but enough to prevent it being a 5 star product. If you want professional security video surveillance, look at DVR/NVR setups but for most of us, this system works good enough for home security.

I have been a customer of Lorex for about a year and a half. I have a complete wireless outdoor camera LW2281 system, with the dvr and internet connection. Through my computer, tablet, and cell phone I can monitor my home from just about anywhere. Great system. I am now in the process of minitoring the inside of my house and purchased the wireless LNC216 camera system. Very good high definition pictures through my computer, tablet, and cell phone. I have just tested the one camera with very good results, and very soon I will be purchasing three more cameras to compliment my security in house security system.

The camera itself is pretty decent. Nice quality for the price, and the ability to record to an SD card is nice. I have noticed however when recording by motion, it only records at most 30 seconds. It will immediately start another file, however if your trying to watch a 5-10 minute span it gets annoying having to open and view so many files.

DO NOT get this camera if you need access via the internet. It works great as a LAN (Local Area Network) Camera. What this means, is to view the video, whether live or not your device mus be on the same network as the camera. This makes features like email alerts when motion is detected useless, as even after you get the alert you cannot view the video unless you are home. If I was home, I wouldn't need the email alert.

I give this camera a 2 Star because of 2 reasons. 1.) They advertise that you can access the video over the internet. This just is not true. At least I cannot figure out how to do it, and I am pretty technologically advanced. I work for a major networking company, so I do know a thing or two about networks. The 2nd reason for the low rating is because Lorex Support is as awful as advertised. I currently have 4 cases open with them all on the remote viewing issue. I have received the same response on all 4 cases, "Just read the manual, it tells you there how to do it". This would not be bad advice if the manual was actually worth the paper it was printed on. However it is not. I set the camera up exactly like it states to do in the manual. Like I mentioned previously, I can access the video as long as I am connected to the same network, but leave the house and there is no way to view the video.

Another note on how awful Lorex Support is, if you open a case via the online portal, they will tell you to call their 1-800 number. They will not even try to help you. If you call the number, be prepared to wait about an hour before you actually reach a person. Then, even once you reach a person be prepared. They are very rude. I had one technician hang up on me just because after two hours I told him I was going to have to drop soon to go pick up my son. He just hung up.

In conclusion, the camera itself is not bad if yoo don't mind the fact you cannot view video remotely. But since that is why I got the camera in the first place I cannot give it more than 3 stars. I had to dock another star off because of their poor customer service and lack of technical support.

The camera itself works fine, but it's not accessible via a standard web browser, only with the L-View software. No L-View, no live video, which makes it tough to view while traveling or while using someone else's computer. It also makes this camera incompatible with Blue Iris, the popular security software. I'm pretty disappointed.

I watched some online videos from the Costco & Lorex web pages before installing the LNC 216's. It was easy to initially set up using my android and wifi network. I later used the disc to add the view and playback programs to my laptop, and after this it kept giving me the same command that I had to uninstall the current program to install the updated one so I wasted a lot of time with all of that, but I was rather distracted while doing this, so maybe it was me. Meets my needs so far. I purchased to keep an eye on my older dog and my young pup, and to be able to talk to them if they create mischief while i'm gone, and to keep an eye on the front of my house, and to see who's at my front door. I turned off the LED lights and with this setting change, don't have much of a problem with reflection in the glass even with having the camera close to the glass on my window sill, with better than expected night time vision for this (set for daytime). Can record to a SD card in the camera, your smartphone, your pc or tablet if you have the software loaded on it (I don't have a tablet) but haven't done extended recordings as yet, or figured out if can record to a cloud, and would like to, due to if someone breaks in, they are likely to take the camera and pc, and I don't have the recording capacity on my android--suggestions on recording to a cloud, dropbox, etc. that have worked?

i recently purchased four of the LNC104, but returned them for four of the LNC216, The LNC216 offered more features than the LNC104. At first one of the cameras would not allow me to view through Ping with my iphone nor computer; this occurred because I set the 216s up the same as the 104s. After resetting the camera and using the wifi setting icon on my iphone to set the camera's wifi up, it came up perfect and I 've had no problems with viewing. I have clear concise images, and I am able to check anytime of the day as long as wifi is available. Looking forward to adding a few more cameras.

Good camera, good video quality, good night mode recording, easy to install and many configuration settings. What I do not like is the esthetics and that it is not possible with L-view to look at the videos recorded in the NAS drive with a MAC OS computer.
