It is a great camera with a good night vision! I bought three for my house and I agree with the opinion that is a great choice. I like this camera for a simple installation because I can do it myself. I decided to buy it after reading a lot of reviews of the best security cameras (amazon, bestadvisor.com and others)

Camera is easy to install and activate. The only inconvenience that is noticeable, is the fact a nearby power source is required. The wireless range seems to be adequate provided there are no obstructions to the signal.

Product is very good for day video, but night video slowly degrades over a one year period. Customer service and Tech help is bad because of listening to music for half an hour till someone answers the phone.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry you experienced a long wait for technical support.

I Have 4 of these cameras installed. Been installed for almost 1 year. Three of them have lost 50% of the night vision. The leds are not all working. About 1/2 are out. They are great in the day time very clear and I like the wider lens. I will contact Lorex to see if they wil replace them. Not to happy with the quality of the night vision. I thought these where made better.

This is a follow up to my April review. I did recieve my new cameras. I installed them. They are working fine in the daytime but one of them is getting very grainy on the night vision. It was better when 1st installed. I think it's on it's way out. It seems to be a problem with these cameras. They will replace it for you but they just don't seem to last for more than 1 year before you have problems. I wonder if anyone knows of a better brand of camera. They should not fail so fast.

Purchased a LW-2281 wireless camera to add to my lorex security system of four camera's.. Works as Lorex stateed it would. Easy to install, and get up and running. Good picture, good system all around.
Have the system hooked up to my computer, tablet, and cell phone, workes great.

I have recommended Lorex security systems to several of my friends, and they think it's great.

Easy to set up right out of the box. Almost fool proof to have this up and running in just minutes. Picture is as clear as regular television pictures. Don't take chances on other brands, just go with this.

I bought 2 of these cameras to replace 2 of the lorex LW2201's that I had installed. These are to go right back into the same place as the other 2. I Bought these for better night vision. The 1st one would not work over 15 ft from the receiver. The 2nd one worked fine for about 2 weeks and then lost all night vision. I am kind of dissapointed with Lorex at this point. I am waiting for my replacements to arive. I sent my camera's back threw ups and they where recieved by Lorex on 4/18/14. It is 4/26/14 and I am still waiting. I will repost on the new camera's when I get them.

This camera was extremely easy to set up. I have 4 wired cameras and Lorex Edge DVR. I simply put the camera where I wanted it and plugged in the receiver to my DVR and the pictured popped up on the screen with my other cameras. The daytime picture is great. The picture is nice and wide. The nighttime is a little blurry. It is too close to a security light.

I bought this wireless camera to add to my other 7 wired cameras. I did not have the ability to get a cable to the location I needed this camera to be located. The camera was very easy to set up, it worked as soon as I plugged it in without even having to push the "pair" button. Reception is great through a stucco wall. The picture, while not as good as my wired cameras, is good quality and perfect for what I was looking for. Great solution to the problem I had with no way to get a cable to that location. Would recommend.

I have been using Lorex products for approx. 2 3/4 years.
I find their equipment as excellent.
when I first started with Lorex their customer service sucked. Over the years they have completely turned around. Their technical help is outstanding and they go out of their way to help you set up over the internet and make the process almost painless.
I have had only one warranty situation and they replace the defective cameral without any long process.
I give them 5 stars .

I really like this camera. I needed one with long distance range and was shocked when it actually worked 350 feet from the house with full bars. It was so simple to hook up. Just plug it in. After using it for several months, I decided to get another one. Now, for the huge disappointment. After 3 months of use the night vision quit working on the new one. Getting it replaced is an ongoing ordeal and I will be writing another review on my experience in getting it resolved.

This camera is extremely reliable and very good quality for the price! Although I am unable to record, the picture quality is amazing even at night time. I have flood lights that come on if anyone passes my house and I get a great picture with the night vision all the way to the road (black & white). I plan to add the DVR and another 2 cameras. Great system for the money and extremely easy to install! I would recommend this security system to anyone that is on a tight budget but want peace of mind.

Lorex Review ? Wireless Cameras LW2220/LW2281
I purchased a LW2220 and a Edge LH324501 DVR. My installation went very smoothly. I configured my camera for viewing on my PC, my Ipad, and my IPhone. The wireless camera works great. I have since added a second camera LW2281, and I just ordered my third wireless camera. I did extensive research for ?do it yourself? security cameras. I found the Lorex website very good for selecting the product you need and for support issues. I recently experienced a problem with the night vision on one of my cameras (9 months old). After contacting support, they gave me a RMA for returning and replacing the camera. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a home security system.

This is my 6th LW2281 wireless camera, to which the number of LW2281 I purchased speaks for itself. The camera provides real time images, not choppy like some cameras, and has a wide angel view resulting in a view not offered by other brand names.

Very easy to install and it works great -- all I had to do was just mount it and plug it in. The pairing worked perfectly. The receiver is inside the house and at least 50 feet away from the camera, but the reception is perfect.
Only problem i've seen so far is in fog after dark. The infrared just picks up the fog and looks like a snow storm on the screen (perhaps if there was a way to turn the infrared off, it might look more like what I see with my eyes. ??? ).
Overall I'm very satisfied and would definitely recommend this camera.

Installed top left of 2 story house. Reciever/Dvr is opposite side lower aft corner. Basically transmitting thru a large house. Reception signal is full almost constantly. Have a Dvr from another boxed set w/4 cameras and didnt feel like running the signal cables. The camera is about 30 ft above/right of front door / driveway. Fov allows me to see all the way to the street to the door in daytime. Nights not so much, although the area illuminated by the led 's is the primary area I wished to observe. About a 20-23 ft circle is very well illuninated, the the rest of the visible daytime area is black. I believe an identification of an individual could be positively confirme from the quality of the image. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is durability. The crimped mount spins where it shouldnt. Will update if any issues arise

We purchased two of the LW2281 cameras, mainly because these devices were advertised to provide the greatest range of the other cameras with our system. This was anything but the case. In fact, these two cameras LW2281 initially showed a picture, (when testing in the position -- later placed) then produced no signal moments later. The no signal message has remained on BOTH of these devices since we bought our system. Both devices were within range and were not obstructed. Extremely disappointed and after making six attempts (on-line) and on the phone to speak with technical support, I waited....waited.....waited (one call wasn't answered and I held for as long as 1 hour and 37 minutes, without reaching anyone -- during business hours).

Overall this is a great camera

I read a great deal on this subject before I bought. I realized that unencumbered line of sight is essential to frames per second, and that frames per second is essential to capturing all the motion. This camera boasts: 640x480 @ 25 fps, Signal guard (self resets signal), infrared night vision, and audio. I have situated my camera and its receiver as to get a full 4 bars of reception.

Image quality exceeded my expectations and the night vision is "eery" but clear too. Easy to install. I can't think of any drawbacks about this camera. I should have purchased two instead of just the one.

I purchased (2) wireless camera's and DVR. I was initially happy with the system, but now I have had trouble with them connecting/reconnecting all the time. I understand that they are wireless, but I am disappointed with the longevity of these camera, they were not cheap when I bought the package. Its funny I am not completely happy with them but now I don't feel safe if I cant see outside my house. So I am happy with the ability to see outside when I am inside but I am not happy with how long they appear to last.

Best surveillance camera for the home that I have found for indoor and/or outdoor...wireless or not (but wireless is soooo much easier!) My camera is just over 100ft from my DVR, and I have 2~3 (varies) out of 4 connectivity bars shown on the screen. Very easy to set up...I didn't even need the instructions. Just plug one of the two provided 12v power supplies (both exactly the same) into the camera, the other into the receiver. Plug those power supplies into your available AC supply, then plug the receiver's video and audio RCA connectors into your TV or DVR, and you're done! The only reason I didn't give this camera 5 stars is because it needs a zoom...but no camera in this price range yet provides one. Hope that changes soon...I will be the first to get one (or more!)

After a break-in of my car I needed something that would help me keep an eye on my car. However, living in an apartment, I cannot run wires to my garage port.

This wireless camera was the best solution. I hooked it up the extra electrical socket that was there for the garage door opener and hanged this from the garage ceiling. Now I have a great view of my both day and night from my apartment room two stories above it.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is long, but you may soon be spending a good bit of money on these, so I hope that it helps. After using this for a month, I am impressed with the daytime picture quality, night image quality, wireless range and reliability, and build quality. First, this camera is large compared to most wired cameras. It will be noticed and seen which i think is a good thing. The IR illumination is bright and will reach the stated distance directly in front with a decent floodlight effect to see a wider area. I have 2 security DVR systems by another manufacturer (begins with S) which have wired cameras that are rated at 600 tvl and one 700 tvl ptz camera. This wireless camera has a slightly clearer picture with better detail than those wired cameras - only slightly but since this is wireless I am very impressed. I would buy many more of these if I could but the cost is prohibitive - you get what you pay for. I have tried other wireless security gadgets like driveway monitors and other cameras so I have learned to greatly reduce my expectations for the range, but this unit comes the closest to its advertised abilities. if you are having trouble with the wireless range because of several walls or a metal roof, put the receiver closer to the camera and purchase a long BNC cable (or RCA cable if only sending to a TV) to get the picture back to your DVR. You will need a female to female adapter if you use BNC cable. Using a cable like that may be what you want to avoid but I mainly wanted to avoid drilling a hole through a thick brick wall, so I didnt mind having some cable inside. You may only need a short amount of cable to get the receiver across the room to a window, instead of in a cabinet behind a bluray player, satellite dvr, large tv etc, which will really block your reception.
