The LH340 LOREX Edge3 security DVR offers advanced 960H recording resolution. 960H records with 34% more resolution than D1, offering a true to life aspect ratio that provides sharper, more detailed, and non-stretched images. The Edge3 also features Mirror Recording aloowing you to secure your data by simultaneously recording footage to an external USB hard drive (not included). I bought two 16 camera 960H systems. The advertisements said the systems were High Definition, but they weren't. The video at best was blurred to the point facial recognition is near impossible. The Lorex system was not the quality that would provide much help in identifying anyone should it be relied on for a criminal investigation. The second problem has been difficulty setting up the cameras. When I tried to switch camera positions using the BNC jacks on the back of the DVR, the video was lost for remote users. I have 10 cameras connected at present and I can see all of them on the monitor connected directly to the DVR but can only see three cameras on my remote computer. Because of the poor picture quality and difficulty, I took the second system back to Costco for a refund. I would have taken the other system back, but pulling the cables to the cameras back out would be too difficult and costly.

In addition when I called Lorex technical support, the technician said the poor video quality was most likely due to the coax. The coax was supplied with system from Lorex.

I am having trouble getting my new LOREX system to show a menu on my MAC thru my ATT router. I filed for a ticket number 409968 on Monday August 4, 2014 mid day. It has now been more than 52 hours since I filed and I have not been contacted.

It is sad to say that I was compelled to purchase a $500.00 security system before I left town early Thursday morning, but I did so because of a new and problematic local condition. I am leaving early in the morning without the system in place and working, so how do you think I feel so far?

Not impressed , I have purchased two complete units..the unit I bought in Moncton NB and installed...no issues so far..The second unit I bought for my home did not go so well. Installed all the cameras ,then hooked up the DVR and worked for 5-10 minutes and screen then went black..I left the unit and 24 hours later plugged it back in and it did the exact same thing...Drove down to Costco to find out what my options were? Response was favourable , bring the unit back and we will replace ...After spending hours installing cameras in inconspicuous spots my first reaction was , WTH.....
The lady said , then just bring in the DVR...I went home grabbed DVR and Costco replaced unit no questions asked..Good job Costco......I did reach out to Lorex, That was a joke...
No response except for a service ticket email....Awesome , I now have a service ticket acknowledgement ....by the way the replacement unit worked no problem....

System seems to be good overall. I had a problem with the night vision of a couple of the not working properly. Sent the company an email and haven't heard back in a few days. The clarity at longer distances was not as good as stated, hard to see licenses plates at about 50 feet.

great system! I have owned two previous samsung systems and the Lorex is far superior in ease of operation and useable features. The resolution is super clear. The bullet cameras have a nice wide angle of vision. But the touch system features makes this so good and easy to use. You can use the touch monitor, touch DVR, Mouse or remote. It is great for our small retail business. We set up the entire system all up by ourselves, too.

Bought the edge series from Costco 3 years ago. It came with 8 cameras and 500GB DVR. I had an IT technician to install it since I am tech illiterate. It has been working very good. It monitors the house surrounding. The first benefit I got is I was able to thwart a coyote attack on my cat in the back yard. I am able to watch all cameras on my TV in my bedroom. The only time I called Lorex Tech support is to ask for help to setup my system to watch on my desktop computer. The tech lady was very helpful in making it happen,. Lorex has different products to fit anyone home need. Try the simplest system first and you can always update to meet your changing needs.

I like this system but the video camera's don't accurately depict color. I should have bought the more expensive 1080p version of the system. Android app doesn't really work well either. I have not been successful in setting up remote viewing via the android phone.

The DVR size is nice and small, Fan slightly noisy, It is easy to operate DVR with remote or mouse. The 4. Cameras work well and easy to adjust to position you want. They have a nice wide angle (93Deg), Nigh vision is great, Had some trouble setting up remote viewing , Got tech support--- long wait on hold! After a total of 2 hours got it worked out, works good from other computers-- but android phone app view only works when it wants to? I am buying more cameras, overall Good system!!!!

So far I like it. I hope it lasts longer than my last Lorex DVR, it died in less than 3 years. The part that was most difficult was the internet remote monitoring with the lorexddns. After many hours changing setups, port forwarding, etc., I found the problem to be the I.P. address setup in the "My Lorex" online account settings. This was a setting I don't ever recall seeing until I noticed it was 0.0.0.0. After I set it to my internet service providers supplied I.P. everything started to work.
