I've had this system for over a year now. The day vision is very clear with colorful images night vision on the other hand is black and white and NOT clear at all without a light nearby. Connectivity seems to be an issue with two of the cameras that's further away. Customer support has been a bleesing. I've had my DVR replaced and have called with many questions and concerns. My main concern at this point is NOT having acess to view my cameras through the app recommended on a daily basis.... Overall...it's a good system..

This is another example of a generation that doesn't take the time to finish a good idea. The products are well built and work reasonably well, however just a little more time put into test and prep would have made it worth the price and would have delivered what they promise. Unfortunately, they have fallen short. The cameras show a decent image and have a reasonable range. The earlier generation night vision was better. These cameras tend to show the central portion of the image clearly, but the edges of the frame don't receive any IR so they black out. The system occasionaly (once per day) locks up and beeps loudly as it goes into an automatic re-boot, so you lose any imaging that happens for about 5 minutes. They don't include a full user manual, just a quick start guide, so you're left wondering how to operate your system. Weeks later and I still cannot view it on my laptop. The user interface has been much improved over earlier models, but with no instructions, you're left to poke around until you figure it out. And the android app has very limited functionality although it claims much more, only a few items work and that seems like only when it feels like it.

This product has worked reasonably well. The day vision is good with good color picture quality. The night vision goes to black and white, and is good out to about 40', then drops off drastically. I have had the system since October 2015. I have had 1 wireless camera stop working. It was replaced, but took longer than expected. Recently a fan stopped working in the DVR, and is being replaced by Lorex. Lorex is charging me $150.00, and is sending the DVR. When the replacement DVR arrives, a call tag will be sent to me by UPS. I then send the DVR that isn't working back using the call tag label. When Lorex receives the DVR back, Lorex will credit my credit card back. We will see how that goes. Technical support has been helpful. Customer service gets a bit challenging as there seems to be a language barrier that if you speak English you may have A hard time understanding the person you're dealing with, but you can usually get though it. Not a bad product, but wish I would have purchased the 1080...

Purchased the 4 camera system then added on 5 more cameras for a total of 9 cameras. We live in central Alberta so it gets cold here. The cameras outside do not always like Alberta winter temperatures and will occasionally go black at night when the temperatures dip down. We have some of the cameras placed on the outside edge of the doable range and they do occasionally lose connection, but this is do to their placement being further that recommended. Over all a good product and I have recommended these systems to others.
I actually just ordered another system to put up at my parents home in town.

Pros: Easy setup and pairing. Everything works except DDNS web access does not work. Can't speak on durability as I have only had it installed for 1 week, some reviewers say cameras are not very durable

Cons: Video quality did not meet my expectations for 960H real- time recording as advertised. Night vision isn't close to the 100 or 140 ft. as advertised. The day time resolution is VERY choppy, no way smooth real-time and beyond 10 feet you could not have facial or license plate recognition. Night resolution is good for maybe 60 feet but only the center portion of the frame is eliminated enough to see anything. Also don't expect audio as advertised.

My conclusion: This is a lower end system than advertised. If your looking for a serious surveillance system to identify persons or license plates look for another system. If you just need basic monitoring than this is your system as I said very easy setup.

I love this system. This is the second Lorex system I have purchased. The second system is for our second home and it works like a charm. The first one was a wire system and the second was a wireless. We've had the first one for three years and the second we just bought this year. They both work great and I liked the ease of putting up the wireless. I use the internet to remotely monitor both homes when I'm away and that is a great comfort.

We've had no problems with our systems and the tech support have been very helpful when we were setting up our systems.

I had an electrician install the physical part of our WIFI Lorex cameras in March. They worked immediately. All was well until a bad thunderstorm and they would quit and say ?Connecting?. The house would not lose power, not even any noticeable surges causing light flickers or clocks to be reset. The fourth time for this was about a week ago. You could play the video for each and see they all stopped at precisely the same time and right after a flash of lightning, all four times this happened. In about two weeks, they would all at the same time mysteriously begin working again. Calls to Lorex tech and their answers were not practical for a solution in our circumstances.The 4th storm hit about a week ago and again we lost the cameras. In frustration, I sent a review to the Lorex site as to what has been happening. 1 day later, I got a phone message and an email from Heather, a Lorex tech. She wanted to try to assist in our situation. I provided details of what we had been through, and she stayed with it, each day another email asking for more details and yesterday she hit it on the head. She asked if our house had aluminum siding or a metal roof. The answer was no, BUT we have a wide aluminum soffit and an aluminum guttering outside of that and the four cameras are installed just a couple of inches below the soffit. Heather sent me some 6 steps to try to restore the cameras, NONE involved climbing a ladder nor crawling back into our unfinished attic, and it worked!! Our cameras were back functioning in a matter of minutes! At least I know what to try if it happens again. A big thanks to Heather for her assistance and sticking to it until she found the solution = the metal was evidently holding a ?charge? and causing the cameras to not function. Killing the power to everything in the camera system and then bringing it back up in the stages she sent seems to have fixed a problem no one else there could identify. Many thanks to Heather!

Even though the DVR has two L+R audio input, it has 8 camera inputs. Which two does it align to? What about the other six?

Further, the cameras themselves do not contain microphones.
What's the point of a surveillance system if you can't hear what's transpiring?

I have owned this system for about 6 months set up was easy and fast was up and running within 15mins, great aside from how loud the fans are on the DVR this is not good for inside your home unless you have a closet or sound proof room super loud, I had to install mine in a laundry room with a door. Picture is clear and range is ok but does loose connection when I use my computer or neighbor gets online once in a while which is not good but was ok over all until now. I have to return one camera because it doesn't move from night vision so its always black and white and biggest problem which I didn't have before remote viewing is horrible!! worked great for few months, now connection is bad and if it does show video its for about 2 seconds and disconnects. Called support and they ended up going directly to the router which helped a little doesn't disconnect anymore but works for few seconds then stops then starts again never normal feed and how long it works for never the same, remote viewing is the reason I bought this system so very disappointed, internet speeds were checked and they have no clue why it does this and they couldn't even log in remotely when they tried, from the reviews I have read this happens a lot, So if remote viewing gets fixed and I get my camera replaced I will be happy I've learned to deal with the loud fans so just be aware I've owned a few home systems and never has any systems been this loud.

I initially purchased a wireless four camera system from Lorex about 19 months ago. Although I had several issues with the wireless cameras, Lorex replaced them without any hassle. The quality of the pictures were very good. Initially I had problems getting through to their technical support but during the 19 months period, they made drastic improvements and the wait time dropped drastically. This month, April 2015, I purchased their LNR182C4W four camera 8 channel wired 1080P system and thus far I am very pleased with the quality of the picture and the ease of connection after the wiring was done. I plan on purchasing additional cameras and a POE switch to increase the number of cameras if a fantastic sale on the cameras occur.

Bought this set up to keep watch of my Christmas decorations. It was very easy to set up. The cameras view at night was surprisingly good even when it was pretty dark. Was worried about the wireless signal as my house is stucco but there has been no problem. The box is a little loud and it takes a lot of outlets but over all very happy with it so far. It is hard to get assistance. One time I called the recording said wait time fourth minutes. Tried emailing and still have not heard back.

Good quality, very easy to hook up. Good value.
However cooling fans are quite load. Like and old computer. Needs a better way to access the product guide. Also the power plugs on the receiver antennas need to be redesigned. The prongs should be turned 90 degrees so can use a power strip. One plugs blocks three outlets. Need more people in customer service. Wait times are insane. Would recommend highly on quality, but not service or sales support for time to connect. But when you do get to talk to someone they are very nice to deal with.

I purchased this system because of the reviews I read about it and overall I have been satisfied. Cameras have good night vision (I live in the woods). Although the advertised range for the wireless cameras is not even close to what I'm able to get it's not bad either. The term "clear line of sight" between the cameras and receiver is used in the description but it is impossible to meet that requirement unless you live in a home with no walls. The system was easy to set up but there a just too many wires for the power requirements for each camera receiver. Since it came with four cameras there should be one adapter to power them not four. I now have a total of six power lines running the system and if I decide to add more cameras who knows what I'll wind up with. In the scheme of things these are minor issues and would recommend this to anyone interested in a wireless system.

I have been using this wireless security camera system for almost a month now and so far, and overall, I am very happy with it. I have called Lorex's customer service department several times and they really been great, although there is a long wait to get a rep on the phone. I have noticed that my signal strength lowers when I have my home cordless phone, or my cellphone near the wireless adapters so I try to keep all of my cordless/wireless devices away. I have one of the cameras mounted outside above my garage door and I sometimes have issues with this particular camera connecting with the system and with signal strength due to it being outside (my home is made with cement blocks). My system is set up and I am able to view all 4 cameras at home on my laptop, or on my mobile phone. I am super happy that I can see what's going on in my home when I am not there. I am actually considering adding more cameras to this system. I really think this is a good system for the price.

Since we have many predators in the area, we decided a security system might work. The wireless system has proved to be fairly beneficial since the barn is too far for us to run cable to it. The cameras also have sound which is a plus. My husband and I are not very knowledgeable,but the directions are pretty easy to install it. My only problem has been with the remote viewing for iPhone and iPad. I just need to contact support to see what I'm missing in the set up. We like the system so far.

The system is now working well. The set up required a novice to contact to the technical service department. Wireless requires locating cameras and receivers as not to have interference with other wireless devices and meant positioning cameras and receivers in different locations until a good signal could be maintained. Camera setup and mounting is easy. Remote viewing required assistance from the technical service department but works well. Still learning how to use all the features but satisfied at this time and would recommend this system.

System is pretty user friendly and the IT support is helpful in helping set up remote viewing. I use this as a nanny cam and since there is only the nanny and the baby, you don't have to worry about who the person might be. The camera itself doesn't have the best image so if you use it for business surveillance then i suggest another system since it's hard to tell the people's face and other finer details. But for my purpose it is good enough. Maybe wired cameras would have better image quality than wireless but I hate having too many wires around the house.

This gives a great platform that allows day and night use with a decent wireless range and negligible signal degradation. Although the fan is VERY loud. As long as it is in a place that that is not a concern or a need to be well hidden, it is great.

Pros: See my review, easy set-up and wirelessCons: A zoom function would be great, to copy license plate informationEasy to set-up, with wireless capability less wires to drill holes through the wall for. A hole for the power cable from each camera is all you need. The recorder picks up the signal and records up to nine months then re-starts recording. You can save events on a thumbdrive to show law enforcement in the event you need evidence of a crime. At night, the cameras have a red glow, evidence of their infra-red ability.
