1. Optimized when used with 960H compatible cameras. DVR is backwards compatible and supports different camera inputs: standard resolution and 960H.
2. Recording time may vary based on recording resolution & quality, lighting conditions and movement in the scene.
3. Requires a high speed internet connection and a router (not included). An upload speed of 1Mbps is recommended for the best video performance. Up to 3 devices may connect to the system at the same time.
4. Stated IR illumination range is based on ideal conditions in typical outdoor night time ambient lighting and in total darkness. Actual range and image clarity depends on installation location, viewing area and light reflection / absorption level of object.
5. Not intended for submersion in water. Installation in a sheltered location recommended.
6. This camera features an ultra-low light sensitive image sensor and therefore does not feature Infra-Red LEDs. The camera requires ambient lighting (for example, street/building lighting, star or moon light) to render a night time image. In total darkness (zero Lux) the camera will not produce a night time image and therefore the camera should not be installed in completely dark areas.
7. The included PTZ camera is designed to pan left and right a full 360° and tilt up and down within a range of 155°. Tilting less than 10° or greater than 165° away from the camera base may cause the image to become slightly unclear.
8. Wall mount required for outdoor installation. Not intended for submersion in water. Installation in a sheltered location recommended.
* If light level is too low, camera will switch over to B/W for increased light sensitivity.
? Smart Phone & Tablet Compatibility: iPad®, iPhone®, Android (version 2.2 & above). Mobile phone data plan is required (not included). For the latest compatibility list check as new models become available in the market.

Lorex is a outstanding manufacturer of security dvr's and cameras. I upgraded from the ECO110 model to the newer 960H resolution after about 5 years with uninterrupted surveillance from my older system. It is very easy to setup and viewing on your smartphone is a piece of cake. I would recommend there products to anyone wanting piece of mind.

I would not recommend this Lorex system for number of reasons. For over three days I tried to set it up and encountered problem after problem. The instructions for getting this system up and running are not clear and do not take you through a linear path. Lorex should give these instructions to a group of testers and work out the problems. Lorex should also use the testers to give feedback to make their software more user friendly.  I started with the software on the DVR itself instead of downloading the Stratus software for setting up through my computer .  The software interface on the DVR is very primitive and tedious to use.  Added to the difficulty is the fact that every time a menu is to be opened you have to put in your user name and password.  The provided mouse makes this irritating chore even more tedious.  For quite some time I couldn't get my PTZ camera to move and any attempt to do so required typing in the user name and password.  The software that I eventually downloaded to my computer didn't require this time consuming activity.  It ends up, by the way, necessary to turn off motion detection for the camera to actually move it which is bit of wierd programming.  There's also software that can be download to a device such as an iPad.  All three versions of the these software are poorly designed.  Especially disappointing is the inability to work with the timeline.  The iPad app allows zooming in and positioning the playhead but the software on the computer has no zoom and requires a finally-discovered non-intuitive double click on the timeline to select a start point.  Some areas of the software simply don't work at all.

Three of the cameras didn't work and I eventually discovered that the power connectors weren't making good contact.  The next day the same thing occurred and I had visions of having to get up on a ladder now and then to fool with the connectors.  I was expecting great things from the PTZ camera as the detail was quite good during the day, much better than the bullet cameras.  However, at night the faces were just pure white shapes on the PTZ while the bullet camera had better detail.

I spent 2 full days putting the 12 camera system together and working out all the problems.  At one point the DVR started recording continously even though I set it up to record only when detecting motion.  After wasting another couple of hours I reset the unit to default and the problem was fixed, but then I lost my settings.  Consequently the PTZ camera wouldn't move anymore and another couple of hours later I discovered that the default inserted the wrong baud rate.  I had planned how I would run all the wires but hadn't actually started the installation.  By the time I got the whole system working properly I was sick of the whole thing and especially dreaded working with the software, so I spent the better part of the next morning and packing everything up and returned it to the store.

I bought this Lorex ECO4 16 Channel Series security DVR with one PTZ and 12 bullet cameras. I has a 3 year old and I installed all the cameras in the basement and around my house just to make sure.

These cameras are simple great. Easy to install, very good image quality. I have also installed one camera in the mechanical room which would be pitch dark without the light on. The Lorex camera has a great IR picture even in pitch darkness.

I wish Lorex develops an app for smart TVs like Samsung and Sony and the app for the Android was better but overall the system is great. I have recommended this to 2 of my friends and they love it as well.

I have yet to explore the PTZ completely.

Great price, awesome quality.

The Eco Stratus is an outstanding product. We upgraded from the Edge to the Eco Stratus for use with the PTZ cameras via remote access. The tech support is very helpful on assisting with the set-up and we look forward to the safety and security this system provides. The only dissatisfaction is the blurred band around the PTZ camera. We had to mount them at an angle to view the important area. Hope Lorex will provide new domes when this issue has been fixed. Otherwise, extremely happy with unit.

I am very happy with this system package and pricing. However, my only complaint is the band of blurred vision when looking straight out of the lens( Horizontal). I realize you mention this in the disclaimers, but didn't expect less than 10 or more than 165 degrees. This to be in the most important area of focus on the camera. I expected it to be at the extreme ends of the viewing area.
In checking, the reviews a submission states that it is the result of the manufacturing process that combines two portions of the plastic dome at that band and that the polishing is not satisfactory to give a clear view through this portion of the dome.
Will Lorex offer a upgraded dome that can correct this default? Can I mount the PTZ on a side wall so that this band will be relocated to another part of the viewing area.
