This product has worked out exceptionally well for our company. We have visibility 24x7 now that I set up the DDNS hosted from Lorex directly which streamlines the process to setup the service. The hosted DDNS comes with your product after you activate your Warranty through the site. Now I can be anywhere in the world and have piece of mind for what is going on at my business. We had several break-ins before the system was in place and so far, we haven't had one since the system was installed. Highly recommend.

Very Happy with system and would recommend it to any one, but concerned in order to send a saved recording it has to to flash drive first.

I purchased this after I had a pay by the month system installed. It was a Wi-Fi system and nothing more than a baby monitor. We had people coming and stealing things right out of our yard and cars. I had bought a Lorex system a while back and knew they had great cameras but left it at our house when we sold it. I decided to purchase Lorex again and couldn't be happier with it. The clarity of the cameras is awesome. I do have to admit that it isn't as clear at night but clear enough to know someone is in our yard. I recommend Lorex systems and would purchase again.

I purchased a model LH1612 12 channel dvr Startos 960H w/12 high def indoor/outdoor dome cameras on November 30,2014. The system works great and the internet viewing set up was extremely simple to do. The Lorex support thru Flir is also a great help. I got this newer system as a upgrade from an older Lorex LH328 8channel set-up and it is a great investment.

Received packaged with no shipping damage.

Was easy to install and get operating. I have a iPhone 5 which was easy to get monitoring of cameras operating. I monitor on TV and laptop at home as well.

A week after installing one of cameras failed. I called tech support and they were very helpful.

A new camera was sent and I installed. Now all is working well.

The quality of the hardware is very good! The image from the camera is excellent. Overall, this systems appears to be of superior quality. When compared with competitive systems, I believe that an excellent improvement in helping the purchaser with initial set-up would be to include a disc with full documentation on the cameras and the DVR. I found it a bit of a challenge to obtain this critical information. Overall, though, I am pleased with the product.

System is excellent, user friendly. The support (especially Taz in a very professional manner) was excellent in helping to put this system together.
The only glitch I had was my router which started to misbehave after installation. That problem
is resolved after spending time doing research for three days.

I purchased the security system to help protect my house and capture surveillance that I could provide to the police. Within the first 6 months I have already backed up footage for the police that has resulted in warrants. The product has delivered in every way that it said it would.

Great System, EC03 - 960H, Great value, easy to install. I was very surprised with the video picture quality for both day and night. Very good. I have and I will continue to recommend this system to others. I have not set up remote viewing on I-phone as yet. I am looking forward to this feature, I am very pleased with my purchase.

overall this is a great system for the money. I had very little trouble installing this myself. I was pleased that my other cameras from my old system, were able to be used on this 16 channel system. the ptz was a cool addition, the only complaint I have is having to type in a password everytime I want to use the ptz. if there is a way they can bypass this, then I could give it 5 stars.

The beginning of the install was fairly simple and the it hooked up with the router faster than I thought it would. I set it to work with an Ipad and Iphone and it worked well with them. The only problem was you must be careful when away from wifi or it will use all your data. I was getting used to operating it when the dvr stopped responding to the mouse. The web site was terrible and actually finding my model was almost impossible. The troubleshoot was no help. Called tech support and they tried a few things, but no luck. Sent the dvr back for replacement. When the new one came in, it took a while to get the dvr to work with the phone and pad and I have no idea what I did to make it work. The install instructions were no help there.
The E-mail notification would not work no matter what I did. Back to tech support.
It seems the recommended server (lorex) does not work. Tech support tried to set it up with my local server, but of course it also did not work. I called comcast and between the 2 of us we finally figured out that "PWD" is calling for password. It would have been nice if someone would have told me that!
The email is now working.
The picture quality is disappointing, especially the longer runs. I realize that it is not HD but this is very poor. I have 2 cams 200' away with very poor quality. Tech support was of no help. I asked if I should use RG59U cable to get better quality, but no help there.
The motion sensors are almost impossible to set so that they don't constantly nuisance trip. I have reduced the sensitivity to 1 and gone so far as setting it for 1 square with all concrete and no leaves etc, and it still goes off. I'm afraid that is never going to work.
Overall, it sets up easily except for the things I mentioned and is fairly intuitive to use. Picture quality is fair. Tech support can only read off the script, and is disappointing.

Installation is very easy as long as you follow the detailed directions. Great picture and color in the day and black and white at night. Love the wide angle you can cover with 1 camera. Used the PTZ camera to cover outside and can see 360 degrees whitch was great. Would recommend to anyone.

Lorex Eco 960H has fairly good resolution but not excellent. You can see about 5ft in front of the camera well but less clear as distance increases. Also the PTZ camera which came with it stopped being able to move. It's still under warranty so let's see how Lorex takes care of it.

Installation was straight forward but the nightmare was setting it up for internet access viewing. Your techs are first class but the wait time is almost unbearable. 20 minutes 2 times to get the first tech and over an hour wait after that to get a level 2 tech to solve to problem. One of the first questions any of the techs should ask is "WHAT ARE YOU USING FOR A BROWSER'!!!! This system ONLY works on IE 32 bit version. After being told it would work on any IE and also Chrome, a second call back with a 20 minute wait was quickly resolved by being told the the remote access will ONLY work on IE 32 bit even if your system is 64 bit. I am very computer literate but even this setup had me stumped for days! You need more techs, shorter waiting time and more info on the limits of the system.

This is my second review. The first review I gave the product 5 stars. However, I'm now finding the product very unreliable. Unit keeps locking up. To get the unit to do anything, you must turn off power and have it reset. Then it does the same thing again and again. Customer service wait times have been longer than 45 mins and the advice hasn't fixed the problem. Sad, I was very excited about the product. Now, I should have bought fake cameras because they would be just as good. Customer service is worthless unless you have an hour plus per day to deal with it.

Just did an addition and ran the wires in the walls. Very easy plug and play. Instructions needed a little work. Instead of continuous recording just wanted motion record. Can be done but you need to go from like page 50 for one step and then like page 70 for the second step. Overall very happy with system. Love the fact I can be visiting friends and still view my home on my cell phone.

Works mostly as promised, though had a few glitches:
-- One of my cables crapped out during installation. After some mild hassling & hoop jumping, got a replacement under warranty in quick order.
-- Lorex mobile Eco: I felt that the instructions for connecting via iOS were written by an engineer, not a tech writer. And I wish you could do more than watch live feed & take photos via iOS. And why are most of the app controls related to PTZ, which I don't have?
-- My Comcast modem got replaced and I had to completely start over on network settings.

Only had it running for 10 days. But all-in--all, glad I got this and would buy again. Now hoping it keeps going...

Just started installing the system. The Installation is easy so far, I wish the product came with a few 100' cables, the 60' cables just don't reach the other side of my house. The picture quality is good. Tech support left me on hold for a long time (hour+), and after 3 calls they finally resolved my problem with remote viewing. A printed manuel would be nice a long with the CD. (But if it keeps the cost down I can print my own manuel.)

I was having a difficult time choosing the right surveillance system for home but went with Lorex because of their superb Customer Service. When my router reset itself and I lost the ability to view the system remotely, I called Customer Service and they helped get that feature back. I definitely recommend this product.

I've only had the system for a few days and have not installed it completely but am so far pleased. I did not realize how sophisticated and detailed the DVR operating system would be. So, I would recommend it... with that said a few points that are not obvious when buying this system... No audio, a camera with audio is optional ($149), all the cables are 60ft and I really needed more for at least 3 of the 4 cameras.....(you can put two 60fters together with a male /male BNC connector from Radio Shack, I think Lorex also sells these) I wish a printed / paper book was included .... only a pdf hidden on the enclosed DVD, but I understand why these operator manuals are no more. I'm going to have to talk to customer support to get the internet access to work... but that very well could be me. Over all I'm very pleased....

Overall I am quite pleased with this full video security system. It fit my needs quite well. I wanted a mid-price range with 8 better quality white cameras, 16 channel (for expansion later if desired) and 1TB of storage. I installed the system myself...don't ask how long. Lots of attic crawling, but I wanted hidden wires so it was worth every minute I spent on it. My setup is still a work-in-progress as I still have 4 cameras to install facing my backyard area and I am still tinkering with the DVR setup and features. DVR setup is a bit daunting and I would have preferred Lorex to supply a printed instruction booklet instead of just the CD soft copy. It's much easier for me to navigate through the myriad setup instructions on paper rather than trying to find what I need on my computer screen (I ended up printing the over 100 pages myself so I could mark and tab the places I need to find quickly). My iPhone app worked no problem first time. Still having trouble with the iPad 2 app, though I'm sure I'll figure it out. So far have not had to contact tech support. Good product at a fair price.

This is my first security camera system but I've played with a few before. Overall, I'm happy with the Eco3. Picture quality is decent, night vision is ok. I get a lot of 'ghosting' and 2 bright 'dots' from cameras that have to view a long distance at night (but not past it's limit) but the place I need to have it concentrated on during the night is good enough to see. While I have them temporarily inside, quality was great. This problem only comes from the bullet cameras.

I've been running the system for just over a month and there are a few glitches. For instance, the system is set up for motion recording during the day and constant during the night. I have 2 camera's set up to email me when motion is detected. Even though the system is on continuous mode at night and has the "C", it still activates under motion (with "M") and sends me emails. I can get up to 50 emails through-out the night and it's set up to 10 minute intervals.

At times I will get an email from one camera when its the other camera that picks up the motion. Today I received an email of an image with the proper date/time stamp but the photo was from a previous motion an hour prior.

Not that I use the remote, but the buttons are horrible and it doesn't respond at a reasonable very well.

Something else that I discovered and due to my lack of knowledge, the dvr can only record a max fps total. Even if you are not using all 16 channels, they use up fps so in order to get the max fps for the cameras you need to set the unused channels down to 1 fps. I've managed to get 5 out of 7 cameras with the max resolution which is acceptable but if I need to add more in the future, the higher quality ones would have to be set lower.

The PTZ is set at the max resolution and it's quality is mediocre at best. Zooming in past 5x (non-digital) makes it blurry/double image. At night it's pointed towards 2 other cameras which I believe feeds off the IR LEDs as the night vision is better than any other camera.

No issues with viewing system from mobile/outside computer. I was able to set up port forwarding easily as I've done this many times prior.

I'm coming up to a month of recording for 7 camera's and probably got a week or two before it starts to over write itself which is more than sufficient for me.

Overall I'm happy with this purchase and give it 3.5 out of 5. Hope to see a firmware update to fix a few of the software glitches mentioned.

Hardware is awesome. Easy to install. Picture quality is great. Able to see completely down the street about 400 feet at night with the IR camera and marginal light from the streetlights. Color in daytime video is also great.

I installed this product a few weeks back and it works perfectly. The mobile apps work nicely so that I can see all of my cameras when I am out of the office.

I found the install to be easy and straight forward and the night vision works very well in an office setting.

DVR is quiet and runs very smoothly. I would recommend this product to friends.

Overall, I like the system quite a bit.

I like the number of cameras included with the system, but I wish I could have purchased a bundle with the 8-channel DVR (at the time, only the 16-channel was bundled). The 8-channel DVR allows for 8 channels of audio instead of just four, and it also boasts a much better fps @ 960 resolution (a full 30 fps per channel!). Even with these shortcomings & the problems listed below, I am glad I purchased this system.

Good day vision, ok night vision. Really wish I could dial back the IR output for some of the night-vision cameras as they wash out peoples' faces as they approach. So, far away they are lit but the resolution is too low & up close they are white blobs.

System is robust and fairly straightforward to use. The software is easy to use and the multiple monitor outputs are very nice, especially when connected via HDMI to a 40+" TV!

Good value for the money!

I have had one camera dead right out of the box, but I haven't even unpacked all of them yet so there may be more. I hope to have it replaced easily via customer service.

For software tweaks, I would have liked more batch download & file conversion options. Having to download each camera's data individually, rename the files, & convert them one file at a time is a bit of a bottle-neck for productivity, but it is manageable.

The motion sensitive recording is working intermittently. I like the idea of it & when it works, it is good, but most of the time the system suddenly reverts to default & just records continuously with no indication that anything is detected. A few hours or days later, motion sensitive recording begins again... Not sure if there is something subtle happening or not, but I haven't changed any settings during these resets, so it doesn't seem to be anything I can pinpoint.

I would also have liked more PTZ camera control ports/RS485 ports. One is enough, but I might want to expand.

There were issues with Port Forwarding, but I worked around it myself & didn't have to contact customer service.

Great cameras at a great price. Sturdy and image quality is adequate. Its not the highend model; however, the picture is very good. Reaches large areas and the hard drive is suprisingly quiet!. 16 channels and 10 cameras. The PTZ camera is awsome! It takes a bit to get use to but the image quality is superb! I will definitely recommend to any one who wants a good system for a reasonble price.

System has been working great so far and I haven't had any problems. I like the remote viewing from the cell phone it could be updated with a few extra functionality features, but it serves its purpose and I am able to view what I need when I am of site. The only cumbersome thing is utilizing the remote. It has stiff buttons and you have to hit escape a lot to move around the menu system and you have to be directly pointing the remote in front of the system. A little to the right and left if it does not pick up the signal. Overall I am satisfied with the system. I am in need of second security system and plan to buy another Lorex for another site.

I recently purchased this system and before installing it, I placed cameras inside and out to see how they performed. The actual set up was very easy. If I couldn't get something to work, I read the manual which clearly guides you through the necessary steps to get it up and running. I had to call tech support once on a mobile issue. My call was answered in about 15 minutes. The tech corrected a couple of setting on the port forwarding page and everything works as described. I think the alarm mode and email notification may work fairly well inside. However, outside if the wind blows it seems to be too sensitive even on the lowest setting. The PTZ camera has a very good picture quality and though it doesn't have IR lights, it clearing works with the other cameras that do and it sees clearly using their IR light source.
