Just had a mid range professional system installed at work costing over 12k. took techs couple of hours over multiple days to set up to view in network and over internet, not including physical layout of cameras. I replaced antique DVR with this ECO3 LH140 and had working on home computer and cell phone in about 2 hours, with snack breaks. couldn't be easier. as long as you have the passwords to routers & network. DVR is smaller than you would expect but metal enclosure is solid. bnc & rca jacks all are solid, nothing wiggles on this. only real complaint was no printed manual only on disk. mine only worked after setup and connected to computer, don't know if i did something wrong or missed a step. would have been nice for a little bit more info on the easy setup cards that came with it, but then i'm talking about a 5-10 minutes more figuring it out than if they had written it on those cards. nonetheless the menu's if you've never seen them will be easy to understand with a primer from the manual, so setting the basics up for viewing, local computer viewing, and mobile phone viewing are as easy as 1-2-3 following the steps on the setup cards. mouse makes work easier than remote control for some things but then setting up how DVR records, alarms, motion etc is a snap to do on your computer. (connect within a browser using the IP address you will be given at the beginning of the whole setup using default user id and password-YES, IT REALLY IS THAT EASY.) the quality of the image is dependent on your cameras. i had some old cameras that never looked so good. the ones included, although i've only used one so far, have a decent color. i wouldn't use it to compare swatches, but for this you see the correct color, it isn't exact, but doesn't need to be. Night vision is pretty good for price range. a little bit of IR halo when things get close but that's expected. remember to not have anything to close to front of camera (like a wall right next to it), including too much over hang of the shield on top of camera, because it will wash out night image. remote viewing from work is very easy with setup of Lorex Client 11 software downloaded over the internet at work and just knowing my dds info and password i connected within minutes. i am blown away that for the price i got this DVR with 4 cameras that it works so well and is so easy to work with. Sure you can get higher quality images with better cameras, or more options on DVR , like playback only goes to 8x speed, but it's tough to beat at this price. Overall, i am extremely happy with this DVR & it's cameras. It far exceeds what i expected for this price. If you are not happy with this, you either have defective equipment or are expecting far too much for what you are paying.
