I bought this system in July 2011 & 22 months later the dvr is shot. I've been very happy with the pictures the cameras produce & have had many people (including a police officer) comment on the clarity but considering the dvr has lasted only 22 months I'm not a happy camper now! Lorex tech support was nice enough, easy to deal with, but considering the best the company can do is a $150. repair I'm not sure I want to give them anymore of my hard earned cash. Considering a lot of other companies give at least a 2 year warranty (even found one that gives a 3 year warranty) I have to wonder if Lorex knows that their equipment won't stand the test of time & therefore only gives you a 1 year warranty. Due to the fact that this dvr would cost $370 to replace (with a 320G HDD not the 500G that I have) I think that $185 a year for a dvr is not acceptable.
