DVR and cameras seem to be of very high quality. Setup of the hardware was a breeze. Then came software.....ugh! Documentation is written in easy to understand terms, but is accurate in at least 2 places. For example, there is a step for "Logging into Lorex Web Client" (pretty essential step. You are instructed to enter your IP followed by Port 80. This is where I got stuck and had to call tech support. After waiting on hold for 50 minutes, the rep instructed me to enter the IP without the port number. Wish I had tried that to begin with, but the point is that the doc is wrong. As mentioned by another reviewer, I also had to speak with another agent about a "complex" issue of "Populating the Router Database" - which, as it turns out, is also incorrect in the written "quick start" instructions. Now, I am able to connect to my PC, but still unable to connect to my iPhone or Nexus tablet. Reading the reviews on the Apple and Google Play stores, I know that there is a MAJORITY of folks that have the same experiences I have had and I sure wish I had done more research before making this purchase. Finally, you should note that this product can be secured only be a 6-character alpha numeric password. This is not strong by anyone's standards and you definitely risk a breach using DDNS. So, ultimately I will still give them three stars due to the hardware and picture and a tremendous amount of good faith. The level of attention to detail in their documentation is disconcerting and their lack of concern by tech support about fixing the docs doesn't help - in fact, these things tell me that they are sloppy and I fear that this will be seen in their hardware sometime soon down the road.

The cameras and DVR were easy to install and connect to a TV monitor. Creating a path to my iphone, not so much - I had to get a special tech to come in and help (since the Lorex customer support was not very helpful). One of the cameras went bad within a few months of installation, but Lorex was very helpful and quick to replace. I noticed the company extended their customer service hours to accommodate west coast hours. Great!! That shows that we spoke and they listened. I like to see a company that takes steps to improve! Next, please further train your representatives with better customer service skills, and how to take pride in their job. One guy was SO eager to send me off that he didn't really listen. If I'm going to take time out of my busy schedule to call, please respect my time better than that. Also, it would be nice if the picture were sharper....

Installation was quite easy connecting to internet was a bit confusing but once you get all the port forwarding done everything worked well. confused that is does not tell you that you have to port the ddns email and mobile app ports

I am happy to recommend Lorex for more than a few reasons. To begin, I did have a problem with my original DVR, but with a few emails and a phone conversation, Lorex quickly replaced it at no cost to me. Perhaps more importantly, the act of putting my cameras on the internet was the easiest I ever experienced because of the software provided and the extremely easy directions to create my external IP address. I have been using cameras since 2000 and this was my best experience. BTW I don't always use my cameras for security. Having owned a restaurant and coffee shop, I installed cameras on a another building and my customers could sit in the coffee shop and see the buses coming from 7 blocks away rather than having 7 seconds from when the bus turned the corner. Additionally I now have a consignment shop and I will be using these cameras to display my products for sale, changing them on a daily basis. In both cases I allow the neighbors/customers to see the IP address so they can either see the buses coming or what I have to sell in my shop

Impressed with Lorex
This system has worked very well for me. The system has never failed and is relatively easy to use. Although I have increased the size of the original drive, this upgrade was without difficulty and completed in minutes. Before upgrading the drive, I wanted to upgrade the firmware (which Lorex sent me an email to notify me that a firmware upgrade was available) and I had problems completing this task. I called Lorex tech support, allowed them remote access to my machine, and in a short period of time the new firmware was installed. I was also impressed that after checking my email, I received an email stating that the remote access session had started and another when it ended. I have been impressed with the Lorex equipment I have thus far, I do not expect my attitude to change.
Easy to use and i would recommend this product for home or business.

One Year Happy Customer
I bought the Lorex LH130 EC02 Series Camera System, because I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I wanted to have my mind settle that thing were okay at the house when I wasn't there. I have a beautiful German Shepherd named Wish who likes to boss everyone around lol. With my system I am allowed to watch from a far and not worry. The family seem to know their on camera. The dogs Jimmy and Wish use it to get in the house. The cats just like getting their picture taken. It took us a little while to get the system up and running but with my husband patience and perseverance it is running quite efficiencly. Thank you very much a happy customer.

Peace of Mind
I purchased the Security DVR System with 8 Cameras. It was easy to setup and get things just the way I wanted it. I needed support to assist me with a few technical items and they came through just as I expected. I can see everything I need to at anytime and if I am not there the system notifies me of the UPS, FedEx and postman. I have peace of mind that I will be notified of any visitors.

i bought it 1-23-13 so far im amazed on the quality of the cameras i believed it will be medium but its crisp, motion sensor capable, sound capable, u can can connect threw the internet. i havent been able to connect to android phone but for 500 u get incredible crisp and solid cameras and dvr the only 2 complains is that 500gb should be at least 1000gb hd 2nd wires too many it should be wireless but im impressed and happy i bought it when u see night vision with this u will be shocked
