I bought the 16 channel system and had it in the box for a year prior to installing due to remodeling our house. When we finally installed it and had it up & running, it ran for about 7 months BUT The picture was not too clear, but we could make out images. It only benefitted us to know when someone was in the front or back of the house if we were watching the screen. The alarm would not work. It would not record on motion. We unplugged it a few days to have our bedroom re-painted (better color) & when we plugged it back in, it would not work, the DVR light came on but no picture. Looking for another security system now.

I have the 8 camera version of the system. 4 are wireless camera which were very easy to setup. 4 are wired which were simple as well with the supplied wire and connectors. I did have trouble with the hard drive after 6 months. Phone tech support took about 20 minutes (8-5 pm) but follow up after hours with opening an online ticket at the Lorex site was great. I had an RMA and warrantee return instructions the next day. I use the remote control panel to view the video and change the settings. Viewing video is fine on wireless but downloading and saving video on an external computer in much better going strictly Ethernet. It works great. I would recommend this system to others.

I have had a great experience with my lorex system. Some of the problems I encountered were as a result of my own mistakes with not setting a static IP for the DVR. Now that I did it works great. I sometimes get the "Login Failed" but technical support is always available to assist. The only suggestion I have that worked super for me was changing out the original cameras for ones higher in quality

Setting up the wireless system was easy enough and I can see the images being input to the DVR but my DVR does not recognize the built-in HDD (hard drive disc) so I have been unable to record anything yet. I tried all the suggestions in the manual and online without success. I have my name in for a "ticket" for support, and I have been assigned a ticket number. What happens next is unknown.

We are so pleased with our Lorex 8 channel security DVR system with monitor. We have piece of mind when we leave our property and we can view what is going on with our smartphone. This is a wonderful service and we are very appreciated by the help from Costco Concierge Service and Lorex for all of their assistance.

Two problems we have with are system.
1st: one of our outdoor cameras retained water in the lense
2nd: We took too long to put are system up on our property and we wished we bought it years ago. A+

Great daytime system but the IR viewing is not satisfactory. Instruction manuals do not accurately reflect the system I have, and do not completely explain the abbreviations and acronyms utilzed by the system menus. Plus, so far Lorex has not been responsive to my e-mails and questions.

Product arrived promptly (even to our remote location in Saskatchewan). Very easy to setup! Each camera connected right away and I was able to set our recording schedule in no time. The mobile app was also surprisingly clear & fast. I'm still having some trouble installing the PC software (port-forwarding, and from reading the forums I see I'm not the only one), but running through the browser seems to accomplish everything I need to do remotely anyway so I'm not too concerned.

We only purchased the DVR with 2 cameras... After only 2 days we're ready to buy two more cameras! We're using the system in a retail store, so the range & connectivity of the cameras is great.

i have tried other brands and they have proven to be very difficult to setup, a friend recommended Lorex brand, and i was sold, Lorex is so easy to set up it is amazing, and the cameras are so much clearer, than others i have used. i would seriously recommend Lorex if you were looking for a reliable and easy to setup system.

We purchased the system LH118 Eco 4 camera from BJ's wholesale. The system was easy to istall and set up online. We can view on our Andriod tablet and our samsung smart phones. As well as our PC's at work. Installing the wires was a challange. But that might be because I didn't want any exposed wires. I still have a few questions about adding camera's to the system.

we purchased the system for our home. I love the system so far. Even with very little light at night the outdoor camera quality is clear-- Best feature for us is the online viewing from anywhere--easy installation, though we did have to call support for the ipad app set up--support was really good-- but the wait time was about 10 minutes-- i would recommend the Lorex system and will be purchasing another one for our business!

Bought my first Lorex system in approximately 1995. This is the 3rd time to recently upgrade my Lorex units to LH 110 Series. (16 Ch). Not once did I have any down time on these units. My previous SG unit stayed remained on continuously, everyday 24/7. I am still using it to give me a total of 24 camera coverage. On May 8, 2013 I ordered another LH110 8 Channel to up grade the SG unit.. I was just asked by a celebrity bodyguard in Bel Aire to let him have the old unit. You can probably tell, I am happy to have these experiences with the Lorex products. The best attribute offered by Lorex is the DDNS service. I have installed the cameras and units without any outside help.

I am really pleased with the set. Installation and setup went smoothly. I had some little issues but manual and the Lorex' website solved them all. I am working on FTP Cloud setup right now to get 100% out of it! Picture quality and frame rate is perfect for FTP, you don't need High Def cameras that wil get your Internet connection clogged... I would recommend Lorex to everybody!

The camera system works great. I loved the ease of setting up and installing the cameras. Getting the DVR to work was also easy. However, trying to set up the remote viewing was another thing all together. There was well over 2,000 routers on the automated port forwarding program however, apple airport was not one of them. it took me two days to finally get the remote viewing correct. It would have been nice if the book would have provided a little more info on static IP's and other things I had to learn on my own. Overall it is a wonderful system and I would recommend it to a friend.

Great system for the price. Excellent video compared to other systems. Easy setup and superb remote viewing capability. Everything needed to set up, record and get your property under surveillance is in a one stop box. No need to buy a hard drive, cables or software! Perfect!

Looked around at different systems and bought the Lorex. I knew NOTHING about installing and hookup. Followed the directions and in a couple of hours (including running the cables in the attic) the system was up and running. Had I known it was going to be that easy, I would have done it months ago. Pricewise, it's the very best value that I've seen. I would, and have, recommended this system to friends and neighbors.

I have the eight channel system for my home which is replacing an older model, the L14Q684C. The system works great and was easy to set up and install. The older system is being replaced due to the monitor's picture tube wearing out.
I do have three complaints in comparing the old system with the new one. First, the cameras for the older system do not work with the new system without buying four adapter harnesses at a cost of about $70. The four cameras with the new system work great but I am going to add the older cameras to the system as well. Second, the only way to have audio from the cameras is to buy speakers separately from a vendor such as Radio Shack and computer speakers will not work since the speakers have to be plugged in using an RCA plug. Third, and most importantly, the ability to sit at the monitor and speak through the cameras into the watched rooms has been removed and requires another separate purchase of a microphone. The older system had a button to push which allowed this function.
On the plus side, the DVR records all the time, the unit can be plugged into my LAN for remote viewing when I am away from home, and the DVR and flat screen monitor take up very little space; the older monitor was as large as the old computer monitors. I am happy with the system even though extra purchases have to be made to get the functionality out of the system that I want. The plusses make up for the minuses.

One of my customers ordered the 4-channel dvr & camera kit and called me to install it. After the install and check, all was great. The wireless cameras are so good I have ordered and installed 2 jobs. The last job was on a shop, where we viewed them from the house-100 feet away, that's right, and had a good picture.

I have my 8 channel system for 24 months and have used it to to check on my landscaper and found his workers not doing what they should have and what I was paying for, I also have helped the local police identify a car wanted in a neighbors buglary. There have also been other times I have checked on deliverys left at my front door, as well as checking my home when on vacation. The piece of mind the sysyem has given me is great.

Lorex ECO series LH110

Great purchase I bought my system in November 2012. It came with 4 wired and 2 wireless cameras, all with 600 TVL and IR night vision, the DVR and monitor. The DVR can handle 8 camera's and is 500 gig, perhaps a little small for constant recording with 6 camera's runnning 24/7 (I purchased 2 additional wired camera's). I am able to record for about 10 days untils it overwrites the hard drive. The wireless cameras do not work in my house, possibly because the structure is brick and the dvr is in the basement. I am very happy with the system. The overall cost was the best I could find. Customer service has been outstanding. You have to wait a while for a return phone call, however the Lorex techs will spend as long as it takes to help you out. The system is very easy to install. I needed help because my Verizon router would not allow one of the ports to open. If you are looking for a system you can install yourself with minimum knowledge of computers you should buy from Lorex. Customer support is alway helpful if you need them, a key reason I purchased from Lorex.

Easy Set-up

This was to replace a 9 channel Q-See that died after three years. Set-up was very easy and the web viewing was much easier and more dependable than the Q-see had been. I will be replacing this 8 channel with a 16 channel in the near future so I can use all of the cameras I have, and I will go with the Lorex because it was so much better than my previous system.

The cameras have a fairly good range and clarity. It caught a vandal on camera at night but extra lighting outside the house was definitely helpful for viewing. It is a bit difficult to view the recordings and the periodic intervals are a bit annoying. If you can keep the equipment in a spare room it would be to your advantage. The DVR is quite bright and noisy. Not bedroom equipment. One plus is to be able to click on the hooked up TV and see live recording as well as to be able to view the recording live from a computer or smart phone. The set up was a bit complicated for a non-techie but support was helpful when called.

The camera quality is good for this price range. The replay is good and live monitoring is good over a PC. The Android apps can use some work. Safe and Secure

We have an unusal home in that we have one side of the house without any windows, two of the other sides with one window each and the rear of our home is all windows and sliding doors. On the second floor we can only see our back yard. This eight camera day/night systems gives us a 360 degree view of our home and property. We have set on our wi-fi and for remote viewing. The recording feature lets us verify what is going on when we are not here or not on line. Installation was straight forward and when I called for Tech Support it resolved my issues promptly. We are compl;etely satisfied as not only does the system meet our expectations it surpasses them. Highly recommend to all.

great first home system

Purchased this as our first home security system from local warehouse club and could not be happier. Good resolution on cameras for a basic home system, more than enough wiring for our home, and absolutely love being able to view from smartphone app/computer. Great Value

We use these in our restaurant, works great as we can go back and see what happend when we have issues with staff or clients.

Works great on my iphone, I can see all 16 cameras live and flip through them.

My only complaint is that the DVR needs to have a simple digital display like the ones DVD's have, so if you are not using a screen at the location you can still know what you are doing

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
