This surveillance system is an affordable choice if you don't want to view it remotely. My connection fails constantly on all my devices. I try it on my phone, my iPad, and my computer. We bought this system specifically for the ability to view remotely, and it only has worked a quarter of the time. It is a new purchase, but it is not as easy as they have let it on to be. Or it is defective. I planned on using this system while on vacation, but that doesn't look like it will happen because the remote viewing doesn't ever work. I regret buying an expensive system when friends have bought cheaper ones that actually work. Very frustrating!!!

We recently bought the eco6 24 channel with 12 cameras. The DVR only has a mouse (no key board) so it takes a bit of getting used to and is cumbersome. Once you set up remote viewing using the Ecostratus, it is a snap. NOTE: you need at least 1mbps UPload speed for full remote access on wireless devices (phone, tablets), so if yours isn't working well that may be why. The clarity is good on video, not 100% clear, but for the value, this is a great system. I love viewing live or playback video from anywhere and can monitor our property 24/7. We set it to motion, so playback is easy: the system catches motion for you. We did have 1 channel on the DVR go out in the first few days, they sent a new DVR right away. (We are still waiting for the return shipping label we were promised, but it hasn't arrived). Overall, this is a good system with some great features, especially the remote viewing. It takes very little time to set up the remote viewing on phones, tablets, pc, etc, but the wiring of the cameras is very time consuming on an existing property if you don't want to see wires, like us. It was a matter of feeding wires for 8 cameras through walls, under the house, etc. It is difficult to know how many cameras you want to place until you set it up. With 12 cameras a large home has ample coverage. Lorex support are very helpful, but it takes 1 hour on hold to get a person. We usually start dinner, eat, do dishes and they come on the line. They need to hire more staff, but the help is excellent when you get them. Excited to have a 2 year warranty with this review.
