What they fail to mention in the description is that you will need to have electrical outlet boxes installed in odd places such as under the eaves, in order to use these cameras. When I purchased this camera system, based on the description, I thought I was purchasing a totally wireless camera. That is not the case at all. To make matters worse, their "customer service" is horrible. When I realized this system couldn't do what I thought it would do, I promptly requested to return the system. My request was approved so I shipped the entire system back to Lorex with tracking via UPS. According to the tracking, they received the package on July 29. Here it is nearing the end of August and I have not received a refund of the $700 + that I spent. The only way to contact Customer Service is via phone....if you are lucky. Out of frustration, I contacted my credit card company and have filed a dispute in an effort to recover my money. NEVER again will buy from this company!!

Our apologies for any misunderstanding. Our wireless cameras do not need to be hard wired to the DVR but do require a connection to an electrical outlet for a reliable power source. Your refund was processed.

One of the four cameras didn't work. I gave all the information proving I purchased the cameras, then went through a phone diagnostic testing with a tech. I was told that a replacement would be sent out, and got a confirmation email with the title "approved". Then 3 days later I got another email requesting proof of purchase, and stating that it would take 10-14 working days to complete the replacement process. After 15 working days, and several unanswered emails, I began calling. I spent a total of 1. 5 hours on 3 calls trying to get a supervisor. All customer servicing is outsourced, and the first contacts must have the thickest accents. This is not a judgment on outsourcing, but the fact is that I was unable to understand the first rep I got. This is a problem, but the savings for the company must exceed whatever measure of frustration it results in. Asking politely for a supervisor several times turned into a series of demands to speak to a supervisor because the rep began making up excuses for the delay, and changing the start date of the 10-14 day replacement period to imply that they still had time. It took most of the day, but I finally got a supervisor who said that a system was down for a week, which caused a week delay in all shipments. Wait, did no other rep know about this week-long major system failure? I think this may have been another excuse. So what we have here is a company that may or may not have a good product, has a tech dept that was able to diagnose the problem over the phone (good), but has a terrible customer service department. How is it that a company with the reputation and background of FLIR has such a poor customer service dept?
Cameras:
They look good, and they mount easily (if you know what you're any kind of a handy man). The picture is satisfactory, but not what I was led to believe. They are no better than another brand of cameras I bought 10 years ago from Sams. The reception (number of bars) was also not as good as advertised. They recommend a minimum of 3 bars, or you can buy a signal amplifier.
DVR:
Where do I start? 188 pages of "What the hell does that mean?". I believe in instruction manuals, and read them on everything I buy...until now. It's taking me forever to get through even the simplest tasks. There is a way to copy a section of recorded time to a jump drive, then transfer it to your computer. But after 5 hours of trying to figure out how to do it, that's as far as I got. I'm no IT wizz, but am guessing that it can't be emailed because the file is too large.
You can hook up a monitor to watch either 1 or 4 cameras (you know...if all 4 worked when they arrived), but if you want to change screens after, say 5 minutes, you'll have to use the provided mouse to re-type your password by clicking on the letters. Really? And good luck trying to figure out how to extend that password time-out from the manual.
App to view remotely:
Hallelujah, something good. It works great. It's actually easier to navigate than the DVR.
In summary:
Had I gotten 4 WORKING cameras, I'd still be frustrated with the user-UNfriendly DVR. But I can figure it out eventually. What I have no control over is the terribly unacceptable customer service wait time, and their inability to handle a return. The cameras are just average, but they're wireless (signal, they still need to a source of power...and that's a challenge with any camera), and that's a big plus. The have a holiday discount, so wait for one of those sales.
If I knew that the customer service was such a miserable experience, I'd have found something else. Who knows though. Maybe these are the best available, and maybe every other company has the same customer service problems. But it's like they made every effort to make the DVR difficult to master.
And also remember that I'm giving this rating after a day of frustration with their customer service. If I waited till tomorrow, I might have given them another star.

The range is good for a wireless system. Reasonably priced and fast shipping. Only issue is that it does not come with a hold in your hand manual. Husband didn't like that we had to access it online

I purchased this system and love it. Its my second Lorex product so I am sure it will withstand our winter temperatures as did the last one I had. When I unpacked it I was missing one power supply which I sent a ticket in and received a reply and power supply in just over a week. Great customer service. The cameras were very easy to install I have 3 outside and 1 inside. The DVR was also easy to set up. Love the ease of set up and the quality of the cameras. Night version great as well. I set up the remote access on my IPAD with no issues once you download the app.
The distance is pretty accurate as well. I would recommend this system to everyone for its well worth the price.

I recently purchased the 4 camera wireless system with dvr, and let me tell you, Im so happy with the quality and price! The product works wonderfully and the night vision and wireless range on these cameras are amazing. I still get a decent signal with no cutting out through a few walls and floors. Resolution is perfect for what I need it for and the system looks clean and professional. I had one issue, one of the included ac adaptors was DOA when I received it, I was a little angry but one quick call to lorex customer support and they had a brand new one on route to me the next day, now thats a professional company to deal with! No hassles, no annoying questions asked. Would highly recommend this system, and lorex systems to everyone and anyone!

Got the wireless system with 4 cameras. Very simple to install, and setup. Works great with my smart phone for viewing when I am away from home. Had a couple of minor issues, could not get cameras to stay on motion record only and clarity of play back. I called tech support for assistance, and was able to correct without any problems.
Tech support was very courteous and was a pleasure to talk to (you don't get that much anymore in some places), all my questions were answered.

I got the system and tried out all four cameras. They are all working. I am waiting for technician to pull the wires and build some sockets so I can install the cameras at the desired locations. Stay tuned.
It took a bit longer than I thought (20 days after the order was made online) to see the package arrives. But things are working when they arrived. I am happy for that.
The warranty says it starts on the purchase day (i.e. order is made). That means I just lost 20 days from the get go and now I have to wait for the power to be ready (so I can plug in the cameras) to see the system is functioning.

I really like this kit very simple to set-up in the house, cameras, and phone app... only think is they sent me diffrent cameras then what is advertised witch kinda pisses me off. they advertise this as LW2232B cameras with dual antennas but they sent me the LW2231 with single antennas and audio ( audio makes worse video quality) i do not want these cameras and would like new ones (LW2232B) sent to me. for that i give 3 star for false advertisement and will update if they make this right

I needed a wireless camera system to place in a vacant investment house that is listed for sale. The house got broken into twice and I wanted to catch the people with outside cameras. There is no internet, so I wanted to use a mobile hotspot for temporary internet. I didn't realize that the DVR requires an Ethernet connection to a router. There is no built in wifi in the Lorex DVR's. There was no router in the vacant house, so I couldn't use it as it didn't work with the wifi hotspot. Also, the power cords for the cameras are not that long. For a wireless system, there are a lot of wires- power cords for each camera, each receiver, and the dvr. Add the Ethernet cable required and a vga connector to connect a monitor and you have over 10 cables needed for a 4 camera "wireless" system. This was unacceptable for a vacant home listed for sale and there was no where to hide all these cables without triggering questions by potential buyers.

I received this item last year, installed it after new year. The kit comes with everything. The setup is quite easy. First make sure that you test all cameras inside the house. I spent about 2 hours for installation 4 cameras. The picture quality is good. The great thing about this is wireless, no running wire/cable. The app is good when you are away from home. I was away for a month and I can see all activities. Also you can set up alert to your email when cameras detect movement. Totally happy with this purchase.

I received this system and it worked well right out of the box. I had no problems installing the cameras and I learned that there are more adjustments to set the angles than I first thought. I read that people had a problem aiming them correctly. There are two ways to turn the stand so it can swivel sideways and up and down. It still does not adjust as well as another system I bought from Lorex, but it works. Tech support was very helpful and went out of the way to answer my questions.

Pros: I am very impressed, easy setup, instant image from all 4 wifi cameras. Good wifi coverage, night view very satisfied, better than expected. Also no problems to set Samsung phone appli, just downloaded Lorex Eco Stratus appli, scanned code from DVR, entered password and done. Eco Stratus Client for pc is also easy to setup and use, even no need of portforwarding on my Router. 5 stars for all this !!

Cons: I have a problem with my external interference router, a 2.4Ghz sending the signal to another building, located about 20 to 30ft of two Lorex wifi cameras installed outside. It slows down the speed of that router by 50%. I have no speed problems with my home router inside the House. I'll try to move the router away, or change to a 5.8Ghz or dual band. I had individual IP cameras connected to my home router and never had slowdowns on the external router. Lorex system works different, wifi cameras connect to receivers connected to the DVR. I changed for this system because it is more reliable than individual IP cameras and because I was not satisfied with the night view of my cameras
Frequency Interference is something we have to consider when installing a wireless system. I have given a 5 star because it has nothing to do with the quality of the system.

Seriously impressed with my system. The hard part was unpacking it. I set the DVR up in the house, drilled a hole in the side of my shed and nosed one of the wifi cameras in to it overlooking that part of my yard giving me the mist concern. Once I powered up the camera, the receiver and the DVR it was easy to pair them. The monitoring of the system over the internet using eco Stratus software required no special skill sets. Follow the instructions and it was easy as 123. i set it up on my iPhone, Android Note 3, Samsung Tablet and 3 different laptops. They all work perfectly to include remote pkayback, remote recording, etc. Highly recommend this system!

Overall, this system works great, easy setup and wireless connectivity is great. The technical support is also very helpful to explain to me why the DVD recorder HDMI interface didn't work with my 720p TV. I just wish the DVD recorder has wireless connection to my home network.

like any male, I never even bothered to open the instructions and this system was fool proof right out of the box. Set up and installation was a no brainer and the connectivity was excellent. Completely plug and play. The furthest camera I have is over 100' away with flawless reception. The audio and video quality are far more than I expected. The default settings provided instant coverage and I can wait to fine tune the system until I have more time to actually read the instructions. The iPhone, iPad and MacBook apps are absolutely incredible. They seem a bit glitchy but I'm becoming aware that it's likely user error and I will need to read up on the icons. This is my second Loren system (first was wired) and I am extremely impressed & satisfied with both products! No hesitation in giving 5 stars.

I bought the 4 channel LH030 wireless camera system this weekend and set it up in a matter of minutes. I cant get remote access from outside my house yet but all my other devices seem to work. The picture quality is good and I love that I can get email alerts with a snapshot of what was detected.

I did a lot of home work looking for the right security system for our home. I must say that the LH30400 that I purchased from Lorex is just what I was looking for. I will say that the first DVR that the system came with gave me some problems with the e-mail notification to my cell. After talking to tech. support to get help, they ended up sending me a new DVR with no hassle in a couple days. Now the system is working just fine.

I did much research and found the LH030 to be the best for the money spent. Easy to set up and better picture quality then I expected. Tech support was very helpful with the only problem I had which was getting it to send emails. It took several calls but they did take care of issue...the only problem now is that I'm getting way to many emails with camera outside and having a hard time adjusting sensitivity levels, at night time no matter how much you adjust sensitivity it just don't activate until you are 2 feet away from camera and during the day it is activated constantly when wind is blowing the trees.. If you record 24/7 you can be covered and just forget the nuisance emails. The only problem I see is if someone breaks in and takes hard drive I'm left with no evidence. Good product for the price and I'm thinking about adding two more cameras to the system. I've read most of other reviews and it seems we are all on the same page.

The Lorex 2 camera wireless system was very easy to install. I have the DVR located about 75 feet from the cameras in my basement office and do not have any signal problems. It is amazing how good the night vision is. Had a problem with the password and called Tech Support. They were great in resolving my problem. Don't be afraid to spend the money. I liked the fact the cameras were wireless and waterproof because my main use was for outside coverage. The system was very easy to set up. I downloaded all of the pdf files for reference if needed. During the late afternoon, the image on my NEC display and iPad was very respectable. As the day progressed, the images got grainier. Once it got dark, I was able to give the system the real acid test. Outside of my garage, I have a single 60 watt light I keep lit all night. The DVR was physically on the second floor near my Linksys WRT1900AC router. My wife and I were on the driveway where the only lumination was the light previously mentioned. We were approx. 20 feet from the DVR. I temporarily attached the camera to a 6' ladder near my garage door. My truck, approx. 25 feet away was able to be seen ok. The license plate was not. When my wife and I were in view of the camera, we both were washed out ghost silhouettes and our faces were not clear at all. I looked at the recorded video, and nothing we saw of ourselves could be used if we needed to involve the police. Also we noticed any vehicles that drove by were blurry. I am giving the system three stars because it is very usable for daylight use and indoor use most of the time. For outdoor use, I recommend pass on this system and look at higher end HD camera systems.

Overall, the experience with the produc has been very positive. Out of the box it was easy to use, set up and install. The user interface is comparable to other products on the market which makes it familiar when trying to navigate the settings and functionality of the system. I do have my reserves on the range or reach of the wireless camera system. Advertised as an indoor/outdoor solution, I primarily needed this for the outside of my home. The signal strength of the wireless technology could be better. I do not want to have to purchase additonal extension wires to bring the repeaters within a stronger range of the cameras. The single bars concern me when mounted on my detached garage. Other than the wireless repeater issues the product lives up to its reviews and advertising. I would recommend this product to others who have similair small properties such as my own.

Product is great and better than expected. Setup took 2 hours with 1.75 hours setting up electrical boxes in areas none existed. Very easy install. In addition customer service is superior to any other support I received. A++++++

We have been researching security cameras for over a year now and decided that the LH030 would be perfect for us. Unfortunately, we will not be using the access via tablet or phone because we do not have good internet access. We purchased the system 3 days ago and after downloading the instruction manual, had no problem setting up a motion detection system that works great. The pictures are nice and clear and love that you can set specific areas for the motion detection so that trees will not set it off. It appears this is just what we've been looking for .... and an affordable price. Also will have the option to add 2 more cameras and the remote viewing in the future.

Very good camera, I had a problem with one of the wireless receiver when I set it up on a Sunday. I called CS (open on a Sunday!) and they took care of issue once I set up warranty online. I work in Security as a tech and for the price this system is great and I would recommend this to any small business or home owner. If you purchase this system make sure you setup the warranty immediately is will speed up any issues encountered and tech support if here in the USA and level three support so issues are fixe in the first 10 minutes.

Overall this system is pretty good and was easy for me to setup. Good reception on all cameras. Remote viewing works as expected. A couple annoying issues.... there is no on/ off switch, and no manuals included in the box. Also when setting up, make sure to set it up with a static DDNS to prevent issues when the ISP changes the IP address. I would recommend this system.

We purchased the LH030 Eco Blackbox Wireless with 2 camera system and purchased two additional cameras. Installation was pretty easy but had to download the operator's manual for the set-up of the cameras to the DVR. This is a good quality surveillance system for the money that is basically easy to install. Would recommend to anyone that is looking for a good system. I am also impressed with being able to access the system via my Laptop when we are away from home.

Installation was quick easy. Setting up cameras in app quick and easy for a moment . Picture is good during day. Nighttime is ok.After a month I could no longer view cameras on app. Customer service takes 15-20 mins to get a hold of. First call 45 mins and the lady hung up when she couldn't set it up. 2nd call 58 mins and we had to disconnect so I could call my cable company about router password, first service rep had no problem with password. 3rd call it took 60 mins with one rep and then transferred to supervisor who took 55 mins and solved the problem by connecting through IP address at home and a different one when away. Week later connecting to app wasn't possible again but this time I just had to unplug and replug unit. A major issue with wireless cameras is it interferes with your WIFI causing it to be slow or no WIFI. After a month and half of complaining to cable company and having technicians out we came to the conclusion that it was the cameras. Cameras off WIFI great. Contacted Lorex online and they said I have to get a dual band router. Really where was that when I bought it. That's an extra $150

To be honest with you i am having problems right out of the box. The mouse doesn't work with the DVR and neither does my remote. But when i hook the mouse up to my laptop it works fine. All i can do is see a live view. I cant set the date or anything because i cant access the menu on the DVR. The worse thing is i have been waiting for a response from LOREX TECH support for almost four days now. If im going to pay $350 for something i would expect it to work.

I received the cameras faster than i thought.This wireless system was very easy to install ( I expected to have more problems with the installation). Even though, there is a wall, the wireless is working fine with no issues. The only thing i am not 100% happy with, is the quality of pictures. I feel more comfortable now, having such a good surveilance system. I would recommend the system to everyone.

Very easy to set up. Camera seem to be pretty good. Night vision is really cool. Having a little difficulty setting up the internet viewer for my system, but have not spent too much time on it. The wifi works good with the exception of putting cameras out in the alley side of my garage. I keep moving the DVR closer to get signal.

We purchased the LH030 Eco Blackbox wireless 2 camera system with plans to purchase 2 additional cameras. Installation was easy with the quick guides included in the box however they are not as in-depth as they need to be. The further instructions needed to set up our online account, so you can view outside of your network, were not included in the quick guide. We downloaded the full manual online to get this final step accomplished. Once that was complete the system was in full working mode.

Initially purchased the LH028501C4WB wireless unit, but wireless signal did not work through 12" thick stone walls. Returned the unit and purchased the LH030800 wired system. Installation of 2 cameras took almost a full day with an electrician, but those cameras were working that evening. Plan on installing 2 more cameras over the weekend myself. The cameras work well, but for any support there are holds of 15-20 minutes, and customer service and technical support flip you from one to the other. Also, entered a ticket 4 days ago to have the LH028501C4WB unit removed from my profile because it comes up as default, but ticket remains open.

This system was easy to install and has all the features I was looking for. I needed some help installing this system to my TV. I called customer service and they were very helpful. I was trying to install this system to a 720P TV and found out that I needed a 1080P TV. The only problem that I had was that I needed to buy a $300.00 TV. I recommend purchasing this product to anyone.
