This product is good value for the price. Installation is fairly easy.
Have tried to get Tech support for1. continual alarm when camera goes out of range nothing i.e. alarm for 36 hours then every 20minutes!
2. Can I pair another existing non Lorex camera.
Still waiting for a response and the alarm keeps on sounding!
Live chat has been in available for the first three times I tried so gave up seems to be up for SALES today?
Would like to add extra cameras but cost more then the ones I have including a recorder? Good quality video hard to figure out play back and make sure it is recording.
Instructions and LOREXTECHNOLIGYS! not very user friendly. Looks like old technology on my menu as when go on line not anything like my menu but supposedly I am current
as far a updates go. There goes my alarm again just want to shut it off.
Product seems good support could be addressed and ease of web site is weak for a none computer person.

Thank you for your feedback. Our technical support team has been trying to reach you. Please call us back at your convenience 1-877-755-6739.

This is my second BlackBox2 and I am very pleased. Lorex/Flir seems to get a lot of bad talk regarding assistance, technical help and returns, but I have found none of those negative aspects in dealing with Lorex Technology.
The product is highly effective and performs very well for this price range. Good images and we love setting up the ddns to view our property from anywhere, internet, smart phones, etc. Not difficult to set up if you are somewhat competent with your home wireless modem and router interfaces. Good product. (I was going to include this in the sale of my house, but have decided to take it with me, we enjoy it so much)

We received this as a gift but we thought it would be difficult to use because we did not know how to set it up. However, we were surprised that it was so easy to setup because of the wireless connection between the camera and the DVR. Also the tech support was very helpful and showed me how to setup the software step by step so I could remotely access the DVR from my PC or cellphone anywhere, as long as you have the DVR connected to your high speed internet at home. We love it so much because we know what is going on at home when we are working or traveling. My only complaint is the system comes with four channels for four wireless cameras only. You need at least 6 or more, in order to monitor different places both inside and outside of a house.

Love this system
It is even better than the Nightowl system I have since you can actually review your hard drive recordings from your phone or tablet, which the other system did not allow.
Tech support is amazing, they take the time necessary to help set up the system if you need it.
Cameras give you great pictures.

Just received the package. Setup only took 45 minutes. I will be hooking it up to my computer monitor, and 2 different TV's. There are 3 video outputs for this although they are all different connection types. Cameras are pretty clear although everything turns to black and white in low light conditions which is expected. Like most report the included directions are a bit vague. At this point my only negative is I cannot get the system to send e-mail alerts, and for that it gets 4 starz by me.

Thank you for your feedback. Our technical support team would be happy to assist you with the email alerts. They can be reached at 1-877-755-6739.

I just installed the system and initial setup was straight forward using the quick guide instructions. I had one (self induced) issue when I changed the admin password and couldn't get back in. Customer Service was very helpful and quickly got me back on track. Photo quality is good, especially for lower price point. Programming is a bit clunky if you use the mouse versus dvr wired with cat 5 internet connection, but okay once you get the hang of it. Overall, quite pleased with product and glad to have it monitoring our property.

We are very pleased with the functions of the ECO Blackbox and our 4 cameras. I installed the system and cameras myself with little difficulty. It took awhile to tweak my home wireless router to allow the device to remain in our network, but once done it has been a great addition to our home. (We were able to save an incident where a neighbor's home was burglarized and give a copy to the police) We also greatly appreciate the Mobile APP Lorex Stratus and the opportunity to check up on the home when we are away.

Just purchased the two Wireless camera security system. It covers my open carport that I use as my second living room where I keep my golf cart and big screen TV. Love the system.

Could not have been easier to get setup. I set up the cameras first in my living room, Then after I had everything wired properly I attached the cameras where I needed them outside. The night vision is excellent. For this price point everyone I have shown it to has been very impressed.

The app works perfectly and now that I figured out how to make it a static IP (weekly reboot would assign a new IP before which would not let me log into it on the computer) it works flawlessly.

The directions on DDNS and setting up email alerts is a bit confusing and I am still struggling to get that set-up exactly as I want it.

Working so well I am looking at adding the other 4 cameras soon to round out the 8 channel DVR.

Product was easy to set up. It would be easier if it came with a printed manual in the box. The manual is a little vague and had to make a call the company. They were great and solved my issue in no time at all. Great customer service! The cameras are very clear. Overall, we have already recommended this system to several people.

Good product overall, def DIY for the more tech savvy buyer though. Def. make sure you have the best router you can afford to make sure cameras have good resolution and range.

System was easy to install but instructions for setup were not explicit enough to get working to my satisfaction. Called tech support for help and in short time had the system working perfectly. This is my second Lorex system and I would recommend to anyone.

The system works fine but at times it disconnects from the network and I have to reboot it. When I reboot it after about 2 minutes an alarm sounds for about 10 seconds and the HDD red light flashes. I can still connect remotely so not sure if this is a problem or not.

For me, hooking up the system was very easy. Figuring out the software was not. Fortunately , the phone in support was excellent (Amdrew-Vancouver) . He managed to get the software on my apple computer. So now I have a choice, either use the Lorex mouse and Lorex unit, or my apple computer to see my camera views and recorded stuff. I'm not sure if I got better, more prompt customer service because I purchased my system from Cosco.? (The recorded message asked me where I bought my unit) I'm still learning about the system since I've only had it working for a couple of days now. . After scanning the QC code , I was not able to find a specific users manual for my purchase. Andrew found it for me stating that a similar /different product code was used. He downloaded for me (remotely).

The wireless camera's were easy to install. The clarity viewing it from my Android is great. I feel it is the best security system for the money, hands down. I have told many friends I work with and shown them the live feed. They want one too!

The system was easy to install and worked well. The mobileapps for Android tablets works well. I have recently had an issue with the night vision levels on one camera so we will see how it will be resolved. Overall a good solution for basic security.

I bought this system and I'm satisfied with the performance. It is easy to install. The only down side is that the hard drive stopped working after 16 months. I was never able to do what it is stated in the LOREX support site to reformat the drive. When following the steps, the system never gave me the option to reformat the drive though the system recognizes the drive as being ok. I decided to order a new DVR box since price dropped close to the price of getting a replacement hard drive. This is the reason for my rating of 3 stars, hard drive crashed after 16 months and steps to fix the issue did not work for me.

Bought the Lorex black box 2 with two wireless cameras, unfortunately the wireless cameras interfer with my internet, i.e. slows the web pages to load up and greatly intefers with video streaming (Netflix), "buffering". I have to unplug the wireless cameras in order to get the internet back to par. Customer Service advised me that the best solution is to "hard wire" the system?????. Picture quality on the cameras are ok but I do get a "halo" around one of the cameras. Having downloaded the Lorex App on my LG Tribute I find that at times I am unable to access the pictures, I get a red circle with a diagonal line, it has been very frustating for me.

After exchanging the old one with the new DVR, I still had the issue of loss of mobile /remote connectivity every few days, that had plagued the first one. While the original one could not be fixed by Lore Technology team, I have had better luck with the two tech support agents I spoke with this past month. I am happy to say that they were good enough to figure out the problem and set up DDNS connection. I have so far had no problem and am hoping this will be a permanent fix. I am giving it 3 Stars because I feel that overall the system and the general service from Lorex is not good enough.

Installed my new system in under 30 minutes and had my cameras set up and ready to go in a short time. Very easy setup and the picture quality is very good. I can see clearly the outside of my home day or night and would recommend this product to anyone wanting added security around their home. Haven't caught anyone yet doing anything illegal as we live in a gated community, but see UPS FEDEX and more , but over time will definitely be put to even better use.

Bought this system at SAM's Club at a reasonable price but it has proven to be a great value. It is one of the best purchases I have ever made. It was simple and quick to install. The on-line viewing capability is fantastic. I travel a lot and it has given me the ability to check in from anywhere in the world.

I really liked the easy install of the wireless system. I was out of the country a while I was gone I could look at all of my camera's on the internet.

I found some one delivered a package, e mailed the neighbor and they picked the package up off the porch for us.. I look at the camera's often and my wife likes the extra protection as well. Don't forget to register your warranty I have a problem with image freezing on my camera's but Tech Support seems to be getting that taken care of for me.
Overall I am glad I got them and will soon be looking for one more to fill a void in my view.

I am most pleased with this setup. I can now see around outside my house and keep track of my pets' whereabouts. In case of emergency I can see what's going on outside without having to open the doors. I found a great guy to install the product for me and all is working fine. It's been running and recording now for a week - no problems. Thank you

The camera was easy to set up for me using the quick setup guide. I am very impressed by the stability of the connections to each camera. I also isolated the camera network from my regularly used wireless network to mitigate against the bandwidth reduction observed by some reviewers. As a result, I do not not have any network issues since I installed them about 2 months ago. The only con I have was the delayed shipment by Lorex; it took over a month!

ONE extra year of free warranty for writing a review? I'm in for that also.
I love my Lorex cameras, the color is very good and having the cameras makes me and my tenants feel secure. I am able to monitor a trailer park I own in Utah when I live in Chicago.
I customer service is great if you can get through so I call late on Saturdays. My manager also agrees that Lorex takes care of us. I was told as long as we have the raw data the police can decifer what they need to obtain license plates and a better descriptions.

Please let me know if I earned the one extra year warranty, I am thinking a adding two more cameras to my two system camera soon.

I find the manual very difficult and not really based on the 4 camera unit.
Most discussions are on the 16 camera unit.
Items could be explained better.
The Motion section does not seem to work. any light change will set off the motion buzzer.
Camera is only basic.
also nothing to explain the default function, I thought it would load to the USB but instead it erased all and I had to enter the 000000 password and start over.

1 extra year of free warranty for writing a review? I'm in for that. Like the Eco LH020 Blackbox 2. Have had it since early October and just figured out how to view on a PC and my iphone. Only negative for me is when the weather is windy and rainy here ( all the time ) motion is set to lowest amount ( 1 ) and system motion detector keeps recording every few minutes. I will be adding 2 more cameras in the future, 2 is not enough. One on each corner of the house will be sufficient I believe.

It appears to work OK, but the set up instructions are terrible - no manual, no place to check for software updates. The suggested web site goes nowhere. Cameras installed and have worked perfectly I had one issue when the power went out and I couldn't connect up. I called tech support ( waited about 10 min ) and a rep by the name of Lewis was extremely knowledgeable and fixed the issue remotely for us. It works better than ever and I am looking forward to adding more cameras.

Purchased this system to supplement a wired system that we had installed several years ago. The Lorex cameras were simple to install and allowed us to view areas of our property that the other system had missed. Pictures are clear both during the day and at night. The only thing I wish the system had was the ability to zoom in on the cameras; otherwise, no complaints.

I bought this because it seemed to be a complete package and I was not disappointed. I was able to set it up, get it working with a flat screen TV and to connect to my network for remote access. My only concern is I do not like on-line manuals as I still have to read through it to find out why I cannot get the system to send me emails or text messages when motion is detected.

It seems to be the system I thought I was buying. I have only had it for about a week, but the pictures from the video(motion detector) seem to be what I had in mind. I haven't got a video replay, but I"m not sure why. It doesn't seem necessary for my purposes, though.

Bought this because of wifi, which is helpful and easy but it seems to use more ban width than I would like. I have kids with tablets, ipods, computers, xbox, Netflix and unless I increase and pay more for internet we can only use1 other with this running. Otherwise everything else is great! Good picture, good night view. I however can use 2 more camara's and am going to order them.

I am for the most part satisfied with this system. The only real issue I've had is recently when we were out of state the cameras wouldn't come up on the app. There was NOTHING I could do about it. When I arrived home a few days later I had to reboot the DVR and then the app began working again. So it's purpose failed me actually. Installation was rather easy and was a breeze to get up and running. The night vision is adequate and a very nice picture on the monitor. I imagine the degradation of the images on the app is more to do with the internet service than with the system itself. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone looking to purchase a system. Again, remotely there is no way I've figured out to reboot the DVR so if it goes down while you are away from home you are simply out of luck.

I plan to add two more cameras in the near future!

Cameras work great. Had issues with DVR initially that was fixed by Tech support. Also issues with remote access to view live feeds from other locations and smart phone. Finally after considerable effort by tech support, changes were made and it works much better. Their apps for iPhone to remotely access cameras needs some improvement, but videos captured by cameras are very good.

Very impressive little surveillance system. I've just completed the installation of a model LHO20 wireless surveillance system, two camera/wireless, and I am so pleased. I had to buy 2 more cameras as the one the one that I ordered from COSTCO only came with 2,. My biggest challenge was locating where to put the cameras and getting the power to the cameras. All supplied hardware is great but I did, for my application, have to use different HDMI and Ethernet cables as the supplied cables were too short. I installed the DVR close to my TV and my computer and router is all within 5 feet from each other. A three foot cable just wasn't going to work. I use the TV as a monitor and have a near perfect picture of the area outside my house. There is a little latency but not enough to bother. I recommend this system to anyone wanting or needing an extra security without spending over a $1000. My wife claimed she feels more secure now knowing what is out in the driveway and the yard without having to go outside to check. I wish LOREX would offered a solar powered cameras, they makes it a lot easier to put the cameras where ever you want and not having to run power to accommodate the little power adapter for the cameras. Wireless, not really, maybe for the signals, but not for the power to the cameras. I have to compliment the tech support individuals (Tech 2) in assisting of setting up all the parameters and the configurations to make it all work together with the ipad viewing and with the laptop .

Products are OK but there lack of technical support is unreasonable. You call the 800 # and your expected wait time is 50 min to an hour so I tried submitting a ticket online 6 days ago and still no response. Think I should return the system and look for another company that actually cares that there products are effective.

I was looking for a system that was upgradable and easy to install, I found it in this package. I was a little skeptical about the quality of the picture since it was wireless but that was not a problem, the picture is great. As far as installation goes it was easier than I expected once I figured out how to get to the eves of the house, simple mount the base and run the power wire up. Once it was all hooked up I was surprised to find how easy the DVR was too operate, I was able to review past recordings with just a couple of clicks. I'm really pleased with the system and would recommend it to any one that wants a little added security in their life.

Great product with excellent cameras. The only problem is having to set up the ddns website. I still can't view but I'm sure it will be handled and fix it a reasonable time. Worth the money and easy to install.

I am very impressed with this surveillance system. After actually mounting the camera's I was up and running in no time. The internet connection was pretty easy and with their DDNS service you get connected from anywhere. Night vision is quite clear and day is perfect.

I would recommend this to anybody I know.

This product was really easy to set up. The only problem is that the wireless video link runs on the same 2.4 Ghz. band as my 802.11x router. I called tech support and was informed that I would either need to run wired cameras, wired internet or switch to a dual band router and use the 5 Ghz. AP for all wireless internet. This is a real problem that I am sure would impact a lot of other users. Tech support was very helpful in confirming what I already suspected. I am going to try using the wireless receiver outside my house with extensions connecting it to the DVR base unit, keeping the camera rf outside my home WIFI. Hopefully that will work. I am giving the product 3 stars because, for true ease of use, the wireless cameras shouldn't interfere with WIFI.

I installed this where I had a previous older model Lorex wireless camera and it is far worse than the previous camera. About 25 feet from the receiver.
Very grainy, and a white circular ring in the center when on night vision.
Of course I'm disappointed.

Have just set this unit up. Being wireless makes the installation go fairly quick. Only consideration that had to be made was power for the cameras being close by. As for the locations that were picked for mounting, I didn't do one of the cameras justice as I mounted it inside behind a window looking towards my driveway. This was a big no-no as I din't read the section that stated the IR illuminators would relfect back off of the glass at night. Once this was noted I changed the location of the unit to be outside and the problem with reflection was no longer an issue. I will say the sensitivity so far is a bit too much on the default for motion detection. Sadly from work I cannot access the NVR to make cahnges in the settings due to restrictions at work, but will be changing them tonight as the unit has sent over 350 emails detecting the most minute movement.

Our street had numerous break ins, a couple of weeks ago. I decided to purchase a Lorex wireless security camera system. I would highly recommended to anyone, to buy the same system. After installing, with very easy instructions. The cameras are HD clarity, with wide view. There is plenty of vision, even at night, with the LED infra red. It covers a recorded video from it's 500 GB hard drive, for 30 days at a time.

I'm pleased with this product. The setup was very easy and it wasn't difficult with the provided instructional sheets. We were up and running in about 10 minutes, not counting running the cables. The one gripe I have is it's a little difficult to adjust the cameras with the included allen key to get the proper direction and orientation, but even that isn't very difficult. The mobile setup is great, the app is a little wonky in that you have to go into the devices and click save every time in order to view the cameras, but that's not really that big of a deal. The mobile app and desktop app for both windows and mac are easy to use, and it's great we don't have to use any DYNDNS services for this. I like this product and would recommend it.

Purchased LH12654 DVR and 4 Cameras. Install was easy and flawless setup to our home network. The mobile APP works seamlessly as well. The cameras offer very good images and the night vision is exceptional. I highly recommend this product as well as Lorex Technologies. They have offered advice and timely responses to my email questions prior to and post purchase. Very helpful and attentive communication. This is my first purchase of home security equipment and I am highly pleased. I bought a Dell Monitor from Craigslist and also set up the HDMI connection to our television for larger view when necessary. I also added a smaller NightOwl 8" monitor to the system so my son can see the property while he is operating his screen printing business inside the garage. Very satisfied.

I did a great deal of research before making the decision to purchase this product and so far, I am quite pleased. I just had the 4-camera, 8-channel system installed by my alarm company, a process which took most of the day. The images are clear and the interface to set access via my iPhone was seamless and could not have been easier. I found the ability to adjust the sensitivity level under the motion activated recording option very beneficial as I have trees surrounding my house and I certainly do not want the unit to begin recording each time the tree leaves blow in the wind. There is some latency in the transmission of the camera images but it is not major. Note you may need to purchase a longer hdmi cable but other than that, I am truly pleased with my purchase.

First of all I want to say that the cameras have good pictures, the laying out and mounting was pretty easy........... BUT, there are issues with the instructions as well as the actual remote settings. Worked with the tech support who was helpful but if you want to view the cameras remotely you better have good UPload speed. There also needs to be more flexibility in the remote email notices and their frequency. I was getting 40+ emails a day from the motion just because the sensitivity is too ..... sensitive. The only problem is that I'm 750 miles away and can't just drop by and change the settings and my satellite has slow upload speeds.
But this is a good system for the money but the jury is still out on whether it will capture the pictures I may need for the purpose for which it was purchased. LHO2400 with 4 cameras

Cameras easy to install...but would be convenient to purchase according to cable length needed. Clearer operating instructions would be helpful - even the IT degreed installer had problems, so I know I could not have installed it myself. Tech support slow to respond, if at all, and cannot reach Customer Service by phone at all. There was a software update that shut off recording on all cameras & deleted 2 days of recording. Video quality is good, but audio does not work. Play back is VERY slow and apparently no way to speed it up. Android app is very difficult to figure out how it works so problems viewing & can't view at all if your live feed is running at home. Was desperate for security system and reviews sounded good so I bought the LHO28000 (which you can't find on the Lorex website if you search for it!)....very expensive. Might not have purchased if I had more time to research other products.

I am overall very happy with my purchase. It was very simple to install. The only thing I struggled with was getting it to work on my TV. I have a 46" Panasonic hdtv. I hooked up the HDMI cable and checked all settings. Still no picture. After about an hour of pulling my hair out I decided to call tech support. I guess it turns out that my TV is to old. Great system, I use it to monitor my mountain cabin while I'm away.

from TigerDirect which will hold about 30 days.

This is my second surveillance system and I have to say I am not disappointed. The first one I got for Christmas 2013 and never took out of the box because I knew the features I was looking for and this system offered it. I did research before deciding on this product and found that not only did this offer the wireless camera system and the dvr playback it also offered the live web feed access. Everything I wanted. Then I checked the reviews and I was sold. I am not tech suave when it comes to surveillance systems but I can tell you for me, the picture is clear day and night . I just have no complaints. Worked with Tech support for a an hour or so & his take was my Internet Explorer has issues. I finally with back to Best Buy where it was purchased & they got the software in. Turned out the tech guy was wrong about my Explorer...a zip file needed to be downloaded as well. As of this writing all up & running with great images...& great night vision!! I'll most likely add more cameras. I have ordered a wireless antenna range extender (ACCANT D9) since I've got a camera that's pushing the range limit outside...way outside. It holds the image with no bars for the most part..but cuts out here & there. The extender with take care of it. Nice system Lorex!!!

I bought the LH024000 system at Best Buy. I had to buy a wireless extender to have an ethernet port available in the room where I wanted to set it up. Setup took some time; after spending some time using the system, it works well.

I have one camera outside and one camera inside. We are happy with both. During the day with the outside camera at 50 feet you can identify faces; not so at night.

Remote playback over the iphones can be delayed. I think it may be due to the wireless connection.

Only disappointment is that the remote playback thru the internet requires the Lorex Stratus Client to be installed on the computer used to access the system. I had hoped it would be via a website or cloud.

Overall, no complaints, it meets our needs and expectations. For the money - many features, great quality.

I'm still in the process of completing my installation and it is somewhat challenging. Not sure at this point if I really gained anything by choosing wireless cameras, since you must still run a power cable to each device, that is not much easier than running video cable.
I'm a little disappointed with the range of of the cameras, the farthest one is less than 50 feet from the antenna and will sometimes drop out, your results may be better, home construction code here in south Florida requires concrete block structures..
On the plus side, the software setup was very easy, after installation and the network cable was connected to my router the cameras were ready to view from my PC with no direct monitor connection. I may regret that statement once I attempt to view the system from my mobile devices.

Update. Have to return the unit because there is IR interference with my Son's PS3 game. Apparently the wireless feature uses the same frequency as our router so he cannot download Netflix on his PS3. Our other wireless devices work okay (tablet & laptop). There is apparently no way to fix this. Also the software leaves something to be desired. You can't rewind the playback - can only go forward.

The product itself seems pretty good but setup was somewhat difficult. The instructions didn't make it clear that a monitor connected to the DVR was necessary to access the menu on the DVR. Also the mouse connected to the DVR did not work until mouse was disconnected and DVR rebooted. Another issue we are having is the wireless device that connects to the cameras is interfering with my son's PS3 receiving Netflix. I believe it is an IP issue. Getting in touch with tech support is also an issue. Had to wait over an hour and then the tech couldn't help me with all my questions so was referring me to the next person up the line which was going to take another 30 minute wait on the phone so I gave up and figured it out myself. We can access the cameras from our computers and tablet. The picture quality is good. Figuring out how to work all the things it can do is hard. Manuals leave something to be desired.

This is one impressive little surveillance system. I've just completed the installation of a model LHO14501CWF wireless surveillance system, two camera/wireless, and I am so pleased. My biggest challenge was locating the hardware and getting power to the cameras. The documentation is wonderful. All supplied hardware is great but I did, for my application, have to use different HDMI and Ethernet cables as the supplied cables were too short. If you plan on using the Ethernet capabilities of this system (and you don't have to) I suggest you invest in an Ethernet bridge of some kind. I installed the DVR close to my TV and my computer and router is on the other side of the house. A three foot cable just wasn't going to work. I use the TV as a monitor and have a near perfect picture of the area outside my house. I can see a block down the street, stable and clear. There is a little latency but not enough to bother. I recommend this system to anyone wanting or needing an extra window to their world. You get, not just a window, but the added convenience of play back and on line, real time observation.

I bought the Lorex Blackbox 2 to protect my property. One camera in the the driveway and one at the back door. It was very difficult to set up. The saleman at Best Buy said I could view my home from my windows phone, which I believed because it had a Windows logo on the side of the box. That was not true. It did not work with my windows phone. One camera was in color and the other was in black and white. You have to have it hard wired into your router, which means that it is not completely wireless. I finally gave up trying to set up the system when I seen the quality of the video, especially at night at 15 feet away. Poor video quality, especially at night. The system says it provides good night vision quality at 165 feet. This is not true. I finally gave up on the system when the box did not give me an easy set-up guide. Just a website that showed a few how-to videos that weren't related to my product. I am very dissatisfied with this product and I would recomend that yous save your $400.00 plus tax.
