We had installers install the system. It was up and running in about an hour. We have a six camera night vision set up with DVR and monitor. We bought 2 additional cameras with the bundle package. One camera did not work but I am in process of getting it replaced. We have confidence in the system and see everything going on outside. We have it running 24 /7. I might have upgraded the cameras to a higher megapixel. We have Lorex 1080P and bought one camera from installers to get it up and running while they were here and that camera was FLIR night vision 1 MP and has a very crisp picture. The other feeds from the other cameras are a little grainy but still ok. We had no install issues. Even installed the smartphone app on our phones and can see everything going on even when we are not at the office. Overall great system.

The camera mounts were crap. wouldn't stay in place and support the weight of the camera and stay in place. When tightening they strip the threads on the mounts. When contacting customer service they said " we don't have any fix for this problem and recommended that I try another manufacturer for a better mount". Don't ya love it, go to another company and TRY to get something to FIX their product. I returned the product, as per their instructions and have UPS receipt that they got it and now have to fight to get my money returned. Their phone service is crap/ Called and left my number 11 time for them to call me back and no calls.

Our apologies for any difficulty you experienced. Your refund has been processed.

We installed two of the wireless cameras outside and two inside. The system was simple enough to install and we setup to view on remote devices very easy. The cameras lack the viewing detail we were hoping for when over about 25' away but thats the only thing that has been an issue with us. Its a good system.

This system is great. Easy to put together and get running. Everything to set it up was obvious. That is saying a lot because I am a doophous. I have the cameras temporarily set up with tape so I can find out if they are positioned right. I will get a long cement drill and I have an automotive grabber to pull the power wire through the exterior wall to plug it in for the permanent install. I can watch people coming and going from work which is cool too.

Just installed the system and I Love the cameras, DVR and monitor. I was concerned the wireless would not be strong enough to cross the travel distance in my home, but it made it no problem even with a metal roof. Easy to set up for local review and recording. Not so easy for establishing a connection with a router, still working on that.

This is the one of the best systems I have seen. I had no problems hooking it all up and all was high quality items.
I recommend this to anyone. I have (4) cameras and room for 12 more if needed. the DVR was so easy to learn and I give it a
A+ rating.

Just got the cameras mounted and started the system up today (10/30/15), all the cameras are up and running. The only thing that I cannot get to operate is the remote control for the system, check batteries and they seem OK bt get no response on any of the function buttons. The day time picture quality is very good, I will know later how the night vision picture quality come out, but overall I am pleased with the system.

Great system. Had one little glitch on remote playback, but was my fault. The fans are a little loud but not that bad.

The hookup was simple and the system works fine...except the DVR makes a very loud fan noise ALL the time (24/7). The DVR noise drains out all other appliances near by. I called in for a replacement. I have not received it yet. Customer service was pleasnt. It was nice to keep the current unit (even though it is loud) until the replacement was received.

Our customer service team was happy to replace this item for you as it was under warranty. If any other customers experience similar issues, please contact our customer service team at 1-888-425-6739.

I purchased the Lorex Touch LW854 2TB Wireless Security System with 4 Wireless Night Vision Cameras and the 19" Monitor. As everyone says, the fans are a bit noisy. The set up pamphlets are somewhat to simple. The instructions and manual should be rewritten by a novice who doesn't already know how to set up a security camera system. That being said, I am glad that I bought this one, and I had done much research. I appreciate Big Ed's suggestion for the dual router. I haven't had much time and do not yet have my system permanently installed. I have checked it out and it appears to work correctly. I haven't yet tried the touch screen, assume there is a setting for that. At this point, I rate it 4 stars.

I am just setting up my system. So far everything is good. Everything was well packed and in one piece. For Canadian customers, please state on your website that you have a Canadian branch. Alot of Canadians close to the border have their purchases shipped to a parcel service in the US and then drive down to pick them up and pay their taxes at the border--much easier when you'll be going there anyway and less hassle than tying to deal with UPS on this side of the border. Doing this caused much confusion and when the smoke settled I was shipped two systems and charged for two systems. Sales told me to refuse delivery on one so I'll have to wait and see how that turns out.

I purchased the Lorex Touch-LW854 2TB Wireless Security System with 4 Wireless Night Vision Cameras and 19" Security Monitor in August 2014 at a low price of 764 + shipping. The colors are crisp when it is daylight or enough light for the cameras. When the Night Vision is used the picture is quite clear for grayscale. Setting it up was a breeze. I have the system hidden where there is enough ventilation and the fans which do get a little noisy won't bother me. The only downside is running the camera wire to an outlet. If you want to go into the wall (prevent wires from being cut), you may consider changing the electrical wire instead of what small wire that comes with it. I rarely monitor the cameras with the 19" Monitor, instead I use Lorex Stratus Connectivity program on my computer and the Lorex Stratus App for my iPhone. The 2 TB hard drive gives you plenty of recording time. You can also add up to 24 cameras. It did interfere and slow down my internet access on my 2.4 ghz network because the wireless camera signal was interfering, so I eliminated that by purchasing a dual band router and creating a 5 ghz network for accessing the internet/internal home network. It's been 10 months and the cameras/system is humming right along with no problems. Thank you for a great product Lorex!

System works as advertised but the hard drive fans are loud and I find myself turning up the volume on the TV to drowned out the whirr. The operating manual can be found on the website for further reading. The troubleshooting needs to be expanded. After initial setup the system worked perfectly for 2 days then one night when I came home from work one of the cameras was not working. Fortunately I have enough experience with electronics to know the old unplug the cameras and receiver which I did and the camera came back up. I agree with another reviewer about the hard drive setup. The quick setup flyer included doesn't offer enough information. For less experienced users the codes and setup parameters are difficult to understand without downloading the manual.

i purchased the 4 camera 16 channel system . The delivery was prompt and received in good
condition. The system was organized and installed without a hitch. I had one issue which was
resolved with a purchased screw , in the base of one of the cameras. For some reason the screw stripped while adjusting the base of the camera. I had a few operational questions, as a
matter of fact i called tech support at least 3 times or more. In each case the tech addressed
each question promptly and resolved my issues. I feel that the one sign of a good company is
the quality of their tech support. Lorex has good tech support. I like this.

I ordered this system on the Black Friday Sale and it did take a considerable amount of time to ship. I call in at one point to inquire about shipping timelines and the fella was very quick, polite. He informed me my order was on hold as they were waiting on the monitor to be shipped with the order.
When it finally arrived it was great super easy to hook up and connect cameras.
We haven't been able to get on the app yet to view from phones, but haven't got serious into figuring it out yet.

System seems to be working great love the 3tb hard drive
Very user friendly and on screen controls
Wireless cameras are ok , not great wireless range at all,
probably would have bought the wired ones knowing what I know now to avoid "connection"problems.
Customer service is difficult to get a hold of through any means they offer
They never sent the monitor with the order and took forever to get finally got it and I think the monitor was suppose to be a touch monitor but don't feel like calling them and waiting forever for a representative to answer. 3 stars for customer service. Equipment seems good though

Great product just installed a few days ago. I install an additional 2 wireless cameras to cover all the area around my home and rv garage. The clarity and color or great during the daytime and the same at night. The instruction only recommend 4 wireless cameras to be installed. The first 4 wireless cameras that I Installed the bar signal was a 3 to 4 bar signal, 4 being the strongest signal. After adding the additional 2 wireless cameras the signal dropped to a 1 to 2 bars mostly staying on 2 bars. The picture and clarity is still great and if I develope a problem with my signal dropping lower on one of my cameras lorex offers several range extending devices to boast the signal. All in all I'm very please with this product and would highly recommend to other buyers.

Like the product. I had a few issues during ordering. The "Orders ship within 24 hrs" is not accurate. It took 5 days to send out. Then they forgot to send the monitor, which was delayed from the shipment of cameras and DVR by an additional 4 days. Also the e-mail function for motion alerts doesn't seem to work, which is what I have read in other reviews of this product. No biggie, that feature really wasn't crucial for me. The night vision can be washed out if you have any lights around your house at night, so don't expect to be able to identify people who are caught with night could basically see someone was there, but not who it was. Also, no English manual for the DVR in the box, had to download a PDF from the product download section. The DVR sets up quickly, but will take complete reading of the 170+ page manual to be able to identify all the little screen icons and know what they do during record, playback, etc... Alarm settings being different from Motion settings, and PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) settings definitely confused me at first, but like I said, one scan through the large manual and it will all make sense. One other thing not mentioned in the manual, it appears as though during the Playback mode, you can only hear audio if you playback 1 camera. If you have 2 camera's up on the screen to watch what happened, no audio comes through. I scanned the manual many times and used the 'find' function in the PDF doc to locate a note about this, but it wasn't there. If someone knows how to hear audio during 'playback' mode on 2 cameras, please let me know. During live recording I can hear audio on multiple cameras, just not when I playback the recording.
Overall, the product is good. The color and clarity during the day is Awesome.

Not too happy
One of the wireless cameras is defective
It was impossible contacting tech support or anyone by phone
I have opened to tickets with Lorex and have received no response from them for the last three days.
Is as if there is no one at Lorex
Even when they advertise shipping in 24 hrs it took a week to ship the original item.
And I have no idea how to return the defective camera for anew one to be shipped back to me
My only hope is that now someone will respond since they asked for my comments

This is our first security monitor system. This system was chosen based upon reviews. And I am very impressed. All of the set ups were straight forward. The video clarity is very good, particularly the night vision.

- straight forward set up
- good install instructions
- video clarity day and night

- the fans in the control box run continuously, would be nice if had a thermal activation
- when installing the cameras I n a confined space, I had to put the antennas on before installing the camera. Then the antenna blocked the adjust screw.

System is easy to hook up and works well. Only problem is can't receive email notifications for some reason and no one at tech support can explain or figure out how to make this feature work??? Can only review the purchase and receipt of this equipment so far, as I haven't installed it yet. I'm an old man, will be installing the system myself (albeit with some help, of course!), and haven't worked up the motivation as yet to crawl around up in the small attic of my 3-bedroom single story ranch style home. So I can't testify as to the quality of the product yet. Nonetheless, so far in my dealings with Lorex, I'm completely satisfied. The web site was easy to find what I wanted, the order process was painless, the system arrived in short order, and after being reminded to register online (which reminder was, indeed, appreciated), I'm pretty well set. Well, except for installing the cameras, hooking everything up, finding out how to access the system from my iphone, and perhaps a few other minor details. As the man was heard to say passing the second story window after jumping off the twelve story building, so far so good!

The cameras work great! We actually had an issue with one camera not working when we received the order. We called in to Customer Services and without any hesitation, they shipped us a new one and we shipped them back the defective one. The new replacement camera was shipped quickly which we appreciated.

The coverage and distance of the cameras are great. Good quality on the monitor. Set up was actually quite easy to do.

A great investment for the security of our property.

I purchased the Touch-LW854 DVR w/24 inch Monitor and 4 cameras. I didn't know what to expect. The ease of use of setting up the cameras, connecting to the DVR and accessing from Smart Devices (tablet, cell) was easy. from the farthest point I set up, the signal strength on the wireless cameras remained at full strength. Picture is clear and I like the voice recording option.

All equipment was shipped timely and packaged well. Easy to install. The product description should reference electric outlet needed for each camera location as the wireless portion relates to video recording process. Need to install the electric outlets, then we will be able to confirm the product service. At this time all of the equipment looks to be of very good quality.

We already have one Lorex System, and very much like our older model, this one works even better. I would have given it a 5 star but the set up is not as easy as it sounds, at least not for me. I tried port forwarding every way I could but my router was not among the 2,000 routers listed. So I had to call for support. Each time I called, a senior technician needed to assist me. The wait time for a senior tech was always more than 30 minutes. Once I got them, they knew exactly what to do. I also am having problems with the sound. The manual does not explain exactly which jack to plug the Audio In port. Also, do I need speakers or headphones (found connection) to listen to the sound?
Otherwise, the day to day use of the system is awesome. I am thrilled with being able to check on my business from the road. And my husband is thrilled that he can now use his Mac laptop to check on things as well.
Having a great system makes up for the few hiccup issues we had in the set-up. Well worth the money for peace of mind. Thanks Lorex!

Great pictures, good night vision. Some trouble with understanding the menu but we're not particularly literate with technology.
Monitor randomly goes to blue screen or changes the pictures to full screen from the 4 we have it set at, but we just click to set it again. Checked all connections but still does it anyway.
Lots of vandalism around so we're glad to be able to watch & record our yard view.

I purchased the Edge+, 4 Cam, with Touch Monitor about two weeks ago to protect my chicken yard. So far it is working well. I supplemented it with motion activated lights which give additional definition to intruders. There were additional bugs to work out. My farthest cam is about 60 meters and to get a continuous good signal I had to raise them on a post. I also had to mount the receivers on the outer wall of my farmhouse since my oak walls are a foot thick. Since I live on a creek and humidity is always high I suspect my signal strength is less than advertised. At first I had to clean the lenses daily because of spider webs until I sprayed everything with spider poison. A spider on the lens looks like a headlight and webs look like ropes. I have not completely mastered the DVR. The manual states that the audio can be activated with the menu but I have not located it as yet. I wish the DVR had an HDMI output. The only way I have been able to use the monitor as a computer monitor is to physically disconnect the DVR DVI input. Overall, I rate this system better than any other that I had researched. Although it is not hi-def, it is affordable for my needs. I recommend.

Some good some bad.

"I have had the Lorex 8 camera dvr with seperate monitor system for a few months now. The system works really well exept when monitoring cameras from a remote location. The software's not very user friendly. It's to difficult to navigate and view footage from remote locations. This is the second system I've owned and preferred the desktop software that Lorex uses to archive and view dvr footage. The new system uses only a web page to log in and then the customer has limited controls for viewing and backup. I would give it a 5 star rating if there was desktop software available for remote viewing."

LOREX DVR sets really works for MAC

"I finally found a system which is compatible with my Mac equipment and also fairly easy to install. I had bought 3 other systems which all promised to be compatible but all failed when it came to easiness in handling. I was so impressed I even bought 2 more systems for other properties."

lorex 8 channel

"Nice camera system, simple camera set up, however the ability to set up the mobile monitor piece leaves much to be desired. Not only is the download for a droid phone a process, but the instructions are less than user friendly."

Pros: easy use of touch screen monitorclear daytime viewing

Cons: short distance night visionpoor customer servicecomplicated phone setup

Lorex Edge 8CH DVR and 2110 Wireless cameras

"I have the Lorex 8 channel DVR which came with 4 wired cameras and I ordered 3 additional wireless cameras. Mounting the cameras and setup of the DVR was relatively simple, but does require some patience to work through the instructions to set up the DVR to view over Iphone and internet. I made 2 calls to Lorex during the installation and receive return calls where they were easliy able to help me set up my system. The system now works great. I can view my property from any computer/internet connection and from my Iphone with the free Lorex app. I'm very pleased with the purchase and have recommended the system to my friends."

recommend system

"performs well and was not hard to install and basic units and program it. I had to call tech support to get my Iphone and Ipad app to work, but they were very helpful and it was a matter of minutes before the two were up and running. This is a very good home unit that I upgraded to from a lower grade unit I bought at a local store. I love the iphone app!! You can find cheaper untis but the color and picture are great. The only thing I wished was in the package would be a camera or two that had audio. I ended up buying an additional camera that had this feature."

Good system

"Crisp, clear images, intuitive operation. Fan in DVR is audible, so consider that in placement of system. But I'm happy when a product meets my expectations, and this certainly did."

"Cameras are too weak. During the day the picture quality is so so. During the night it is a guess work.

The DVR has many good functionalities. Local and internet access is very good. Motion detection sometimes produces corrupted pictures. Currently the DVR, for Internet access, does not work with Motorola Atrix. Lorex support is very good but the wait time is too long.

Great Wathdog

"We have numerous Lorex cameras installed around our home. Love the touch screen.

Its easy to use, and the quality of the images is very good. I can watch my grandchildren in the back yard and see who is at my front door at the same time. The best investment we have purchased in a long time. I would recommend to anyone.

Reliable, Reliable, Reliable.

"Purchased this unit to replace a 4-camera Lorex system to get better coverage and picture resolution. When unit arrived the DVR malfunctioned and was replaced by Lorex after two days working by phone with tech support (used phone because first email was unanswered for a week).

In 11 months of full-time use, there have been no problems with the cameras or the DVR. Resolution is very good both day and night. Set-up was simple, but the back of the DVR is so crowded that it's very difficult to manage the eight BNC connections. That's the price you have to pay for such a compact unit.

Fairly easy to backup the DVR (copy video segments) with a USB memory device, but the format is .MOV which I have to convert to .WAV or .AVI.

Cannot comment on touch screen, internet connectivity, or remote operation. I operate it only with the mouse because I don't feel the need to use the touch screen o the remote control.

For me, the strongest feature is the reliability of the unit. It replaced another Lorex product which was also 100% dependable. I would give this product a very positive recommendation based on reliability alone, but I am also pleased with all of the other features which I use."

Fantastic protection!

"This is my third camera security system. I wish I had installed it first. Not only does State Farm give me a nice security discount, but I now have real peace of mind when we go away for the weekend or vacation. I can check eight important locations any time I want to on the internet."

clunky menus, needs refining but good system...

"Pro's: Full 30fps all channels, smart phone viewing, adjustable motion sensing and many other great features.

Cons: No control discription when you hover over a button, thats would be very helpful as sometimes dont know what a button does until you click it. No full screen mode on internet viewing. Also, recording look-up is very cumbersome and definitally needs to be streamlined.

This is the best system I could find and with a little tweeking nothing else would come close.

Very Poor Mac Support

"The 8 cameras work great and were easy to install by my son and I in an afternoon. Everything worked well automatically except the web support is terrible if you use a Mac. There was a lot of PC support but I am still working with the company website to try to get my Mac to monitor the system after trying for two weeks."

Pros: easy to instll

Cons: bad mac support

its very convinient to use

"I purchased two different Lorex security camera systems for two of my offices. I liked this system because I can see the office through my Iphone day and night. One night right after Valentines'day I got a call from security alarm company saying the security alarm was triggered. If they should call the Police. I was able to see through my I phone that office. It turns out the alarm system went off triggered by the balloons the girls received from their valentines....."

good so far, but..

"good so far, but definitely not an easy project. if you can not hook up your tv or vcr or stereo or computer and do the basic set up on them, you will have some problems. It`s not hard but you need to be a little tech friendly to get this going. directions are ok, not great. have not called tech support yet but need to, to figure out how to (port forward modem/router) to view over internet. can view on my computer over local network connection, but not yet from log in from another computer off site. for the price it seems pretty good. have only had for 1 month so can not comment yet on durability."

Pros: price / works with mac/apple

Cons: plan on an all weekend install or 2...

Worked Right Out Of The Box - Great Product

Model Number: Lorex 8 Channel EDGE

"I had never purchased or used a security system before, so I was concerned about how complex they might be to install and setup. I took the Lorex out of the box and plugged in all the connectors, and IT WORKED. I played with the system for a few days learning how to set it up for motion only recording, and all the other options. The operating system is surprisingly simple and easy to understand. I installed the system and had no issues other than figuring how to run the wires in some tight places. It's been running now for 30 days with no problems."

Edge 300 series with full Mac compatibility

"I was originally interested in Lorex systems because they are the only company that makes a Mac compatible DVR. It is truly Mac friendly and works wonderfully, with local access and remote access using Safari. But also as a general surveillance system, I can't imagine it working more smoothly.

Fully Mac compatible.

Even as a non-tech person, the set up was relatively easy.

The night-time resolution of the daytime/night time camera is excellent, wired and wireless.

iPhone app works perfectly as long as you are WiFi connected. (understandably the 3G speed is too slow to allow real viewing)

Customer service is excellent and the higher executives really care about their products and customer satisfaction. Personal follow up was a pleasant surprise!

Tech support is either excellent or incompetent depending on who answers the phone

The cameras work really well, but if your goal is their lack of visibility, there are certain situations where this is impossible, especially at night with the IR light. The solution can be found elsewhere, but it would be great if Lorex provided more camera style choices."

Excelent price and quality

"Researched various DVR's and found the Lorex Link to have all necessary features for surveillance and monitoring that others did not offer.

Price was extremely competitive compared to other brands offering the same or less in quality and/ or features.

Cameras however are low resolution, but for certain conditions, do the job excellently. For more detailed display, higher resolution cameras can be purchased separately.

I highly recommend this product."

Great remote video viewed on any device!

"I purchased this product specifically because I was looking for a means to monitor my home on my BlackBerry 8320 Curve. This product meets my needs and more. For starters, the set-up was easy and straight-forward. No trouble at all. After testing my setup, I registered with the free Lorex DDNS service and found remote viewing and control to be easy and effortless. Whether using my laptop, desktop or BlackBerry, the system is a breeze to monitor and control. The included client software makes the remote setup very easy. Since the DVR is a server, for those of you who are network geeks out there, you can access it directly through a firewall with no client software needed if you know how to set it up.....yes, all the info is in the manual.

This system is an upgrade for me. My old security cameras were X10-based and used separate motion sensors. With the Lorex, the motion detection is built into each camera. Genius! The video quality is very, very good and works day (color) and night (B&W with infra-red LEDs in each cam). The setup also has 8 external alarm inputs so that you can wire up a door or window contact to elicit an email message upon triggering. Emails can be sent to as many as 5 addresses.

I highly recommend this product.

Good buy!

"I purchased the LH 400 Link Series a couple month ago. I found the instalation to be straight forward and simple. The set up of the DVR for the network and IPhone was a little more challenging. The instructions that Lorex supplied was extreamly helpful in my sucessful setup. Great product! I expect this product to last many years to help protect my house."
