Unit covers the basics but fan is very loud. It can't be placed in a bedroom or living area. Outdoor cameras do not last long (less than 2 years). FLIR software is pretty bad. Not user friendly and requires lots of review to use basic functions.

Thank you for your feedback. We would be happy to help you. If you require any assistance, please email us back at your convenience or call us at 1-888-425-6739.

For years had Zmodo. DVR finally needed to be replaced. Got new DVR from Zmodo. If required port forwarding of Xfinity router for internet viewing. Zmodo no help. No longer live customer support. Likewise, Xfinity would not help. Saw Lorex FlirCloud product. Received DVR last night within 4 days of ordering. Good live customer support today established PC, iPhone and iPad viewing. GREAT product. I highly recommend it. Thank you Jackson in tech support.

My last Lorex DVR died after 3 years. The hard drive died after 2 years, I put a new hard drive in and it dies 1 year later. This new Lorex DVR was pretty easy to setup, downloaded the SW and pretty quickly got the live view. Still not easy to use the rest of the features. I had to read the manual a lot and call tech support. Play back isn't as easy as I'd like, setting up email alerts based on motion detect, getting an image attached to that email, changing sensitivity of the motion detector. The SW has a long way to go to be user friendly, and hasn't improved since my previous Lorex DVR 3 years ago. The FLIR SW is certainly better for remote connection and from my phone. The manual has room for improvement.

Easy set up.
Going on line to view is real easy.
Menues could be a little better, not as many options as I would have liked. Has a very annoying beeper that is hard to get rid of.
Price is right.
Shipping was an issue, Same day shipping took 4 days. Got shipped from US and that added a week, so 3 weeks of shipping time.
So other than the LITTLE things, not to bad.

Setup was easy. No manual but downloaded online. Easy connection n takes old cameras. Scrolling thru menu is good. Just play with it n you'll master it.

This is my third vendor for security camera DVRs and by far, it's the best. Owned Nightowl and Samsung and the apps were lacking. Lorex has a fantastic app and the menuing and capability of the DVR is impressive.

So Far I am completely impressed with Lorex technical assistance! They surpassed my expectations in that regard. Online purchase has proven to be quite difficult to say the least. After two weeks of confirming payment, Lorex then could not find my order. Even though my order has finally arrived, it still shows pending online with customer service.
I hope Lorex can resolve there internal issue because this is a wonderful product.

The Lorex has been great so far. The technology is great, I really like theFlir Cloud mobile app software. The installation guide was easy to follow. I really like the features such as being able to playback and review from anywhere in the world. Also I like the way you can view your cameras, you can view 1 at a time or 4, 9, or all 16. The cost I think was fair and reasonable.

This 16 Channel 1080p Surveilance analog DVR system replaced two 8 Channel LOREX Analog DVRs alowing us to add a 720p 360 deg PTZ camera (controllable through the coax :-)) and attach all our legacy cameras by just moving the BNC connectors. We connected the DVR to our network and it did a update of its firmware with no prodding. It worked great out of the box even on cameras over 500 feet away and after changing access settings was simple to tweak the cameras for their best settings. The FLIR remote access app works great on my android phone, was simple to set up, and I can see and control one or see multiple cameras up to the 16 viewss at one time in HDMI level quality. The fan is a bit louder than I expected but not as loud as the two 8 channel systems I had stacked previously. Very Very satisfied!
