    I'm very excited about my new Lorex system. The HD cameras are very clear with a decent range. Definitely much better than my old camera. I am only viewing live right now because the ethernet cord that was included is too short to connect to my modem. I purchased a longer ethernet cord but I have not connected yet, so I can't give a complete review because I cannot record or view on my android phone or iPad. Once I can take advantage of all the features I will submit a follow up review. But overall, so far so good.

    Very happy with this system - the setup was fairly easy, but a few calls to technical support were necessary. Support was always available to walk us through any of the setup and answer all of our questions. The online "ticket" system is also a great tool to document any warranty issues you may have.

    In concept the system is nice. However, the software needs a lot of work. The connection from the recorder to my main computer is via Airport Express to my Airport Extreme (25 yards apart). The system crashes at least 5 times a day/night. If you don?t watch out and see the clock advancing, you may no longer be live and just starring at a frozen picture.
    The playback picture quality is excellent (true HD) but the live screen is not (can?t find any place to change the resolution). Play back menu items such as ?Smart search? is not available on IE. No other browsers are supported.
    The iPhone app is totally useless unless you are I a very good wi-fi environment. I have AT&T and I have never seen a picture on my phone outside a wi-fi zone - no matter how many dots I have. A friend of mine has the same app on a Verizon iPhone and can sometimes get a picture for a few seconds before it crashes. How they got their app approved by Apple is a mystery to me.

    I purchased two Lorex 1080P 4 camera systems. I had no problems with the first camera I puchased in July. I purchased the second system on Black Friday and it just has been problematic. First they sent me an 8 channel DVR when I was supposed to receive a 4 channel DVR. They told me I was getting an upgrade when I called to inquire. How do you upgrade someone without notifying them? Of course, the 8 channel DVR did not work with the monitor and cameras. They sent a replacement that was noisier than an AC unit. It only worked for a month and a half. They told me to return it. They received it January 31st. I called today, January 7th and was told it is still in process. Does this mean they are fixing the old one and sending it back to me? SHAME ON YOU LOREX!!!! You call this customer serivice for someone who has spent over $2500.00 with your company? SHAME ON YOU!!!

    The setup was very easy. For a plug & play sytem this combo is the BEST bang for your bucks!!!!!!!!! The picture quality of these cameras are just amazing! 1080P is the only way to go..... had 700TLV & also 960H, did the job, but HD is it. I will say that in my opinion these cameras work alot better at night w/o ambient lighting(unless my lighting needs redirecting) The FOV is great as well able to cover my garage as well as 3 of my neighbors homes. Andriod App isn't the best, but it works.

    From the time I hooked the unit up, the fans were extremely loud. The unit ( DVR ) seemed to work fine. After the HD got full, the unit started to shut it's self off and back on on it's own. It quit recording all 8 channels. Two tickets later, and another call to customer support, they said that they would replace the unit. The new unit arrived the next day. The fans were much more quiet. We will see if the replacement unit is in better shape. Seems that the first unit was damaged. The system is great, and aside from being on hold for a long time, every time, I am happy with the system. I registered the new unit this morning.

    Setup is pretty easy if you understand how to plug an Ethernet Cable into your Network, Know how to run wires around your house and understand the basics of DNS.

    I have been running this product since March. Daytime it works great, Nighttime is different. The cameras go into a freak-out mode. They aren't recording much and its completely random.

    I have DDNS setup and can look at my cameras from my Mac, iPhone and Android. Its a bit clunky but does the job.

    I have used the cameras to stop my neighbors yard from getting turffed and have captured animals running through the yard. Cameras and signs about the cameras makes me believe that thieves are camera shy.
