I bought this product to provide more security for my home. I'm a recently divorced mom of four, so I felt it would be a good decision to buy a home surveillance system. I purchased this particular system because it was affordable, it fit within my budget and it had great reviews. I'm pleased with my purchase. My uncle installed it for me perfectly. It wasn't difficult to install and didn't take excessively long. I love that I can access and view my cameras on the monitor, on my cell phone, Ipad, and on my laptop. So I'm able to see the status of my house wherever I am, whether I'm out or at home. That's extremely important to me, being a single mom. The Flir Cloud software and app are also easy to use. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase.

Overall, this is a good product. The picture is clean, and it is easy to view multiple cameras with different layouts. Playback is straightforward; you can jump around on a timeline to find what you want to see. As long as you have the proper recording settings, exporting to USB is pretty easy, and it produces two-hour-long chunks.

If you read the manual carefully, patiently go through all the settings, and research what all the video recording terminology is, you should have no problems using this video recorder.

A few small downsides: The video is in 15 FPS, so it's not as smooth as a regular video that you might be used to seeing online. The device has a very loud fan, so it can get very distracting if it's in a small room.

I got this on sale so I got an extremely good price. It was a fair amount of work to run the wiring, as is to be expected. But once I had run the wiring, it was a VERY simple process to plug it in and view it. The interface is user friendly (very intuitive) and the Save to USB works perfectly.

However, I have not yet been able to get the online viewing to work. I went extensively through connecting the system to my router and making sure all the settings were correct and so forth, and setting up an account on Lorex and entering my warranty information and so forth and so on; I tried on the computer as well as on my phone (and there are at least two different Lorex apps in the Google Play store that I tried)... and on the computer there are two different official Lorex websites that supposedly allow you to remote view your system video... I tried setting up ddns extremely carefully; googled and read multiple PDFs off the Lorex website... all to no avail.

That is a real bummer and I hope Lorex contacts me and helps me out with the remote viewing setup. Otherwise this would be a five-star system.

This system is inexpensive for what you get. The 720P High Definition cameras are crisp and clear and the night vision is visible for a nice distance. The quality is superb. We are staying with the best. Lorex all the way!!!

I absolutely love these cameras. I installed camera systems before but never had it as easy to install as these Lorex Cameras. Very easy to install, great video quality, and love how simple everything works. Works great with my iPhone as well! Keep up the good work!

The system is easy to setup on the Flir cloud using the iPhone app. I like being able to control all the Dvr and camera settings from the downloaded desktop client software. The DVR lacks the ability to send images to iPhone banner alerts therefore causing you to take extra time and Steps just to look at what triggerd the alert. My older Lorex Dvr was able to do this. Affordable system and I like the multi image display options. Perfect system if it could sent txt banner images for the alerts.

I would recommend this system because it has good high quality video, good night video. The setup wasn't bad, thought the menu is not very intuitive. Overall I would recommend the system. The Android app is OK, but it does force close often. For the money this system is great.

I purchased this Lorex DVR and 8 cameras for $300 at Sam's Club to upgrade an older Lorex DVR and cameras for my home. This new model was easy to set up, has great features, and the cameras are so much better than my older ones.

But most importantly, just like the experience with my first Lorex DVR, support is excellent for solving setup problems, particularly with the mobile phone viewing of the cameras.

The only reason for just 4 stars is because I was told I cannot use the Flir online account feature (the $149/yr paid account) because Lorex is presently upgrading their servers. I find that hard to believe - are all the people who paid for Flir offline for 2 weeks?

I installed an 8 channel wired 4 camera Lorex security system in our home. It took me parts of 3 days to run the wiring through our 3000 square foot home. Our home is all brick so it took some time to mount the cameras.

When the wiring was completed the system was very easy to connect and when I turned on for the first time all the cameras came right up. All I needed to do was make minor adjustments to camera positioning.

I am now in the process of adding four additional cameras to complete our system. I downloaded your FLIR Cloud App on my cell phone and tablet and can now view my cameras from anywhere.

We are very pleased with the Lorex system and would recommend it to everyone.

I purchased the Lorex LHV0000 16-channel, 8 camera system from Sam's Club to replace an aging and inferior Q-See product. What made this system attractive is that the camera cabling is interchangeable and the video quality is so much better. Also, Lorex has done a decent job with the usability of the software. Improvements can still be made, but I believe the software will improve with upgrades. Loren's instruction manual (especially the Quick Start) are very clear and will have your system running in very little time.

I haven't installed it yet, but I've got it hooked up in my office to try it out. It pretty much works right out of the box, but can also be customized based on your needs - continuous recording vs. motion detection, recording resolution (to conserve disk space), etc. 8 cameras is plenty for me right now, but I like the fact that it will support up to 16. The cameras are 720P, and it seems like that is the highest resolution the unit will support. But having said that, 720P seems fine for video surveillance, and for the price, it can't be beat.

I've also installed FLIRCloud on both my Windows PC and my Android phone. Both work fine. I was initially confused about the userid/password used by the FLIRCloud software vs. the userid/password on the DVR. A call to support resolved that (they are completely separate). Speaking of support, I was able to reach a support person on the phone with almost no wait time. She was very helpful, explaining everything I was unsure about.

I'm still studying the manual (it's pretty huge, which gives you an idea of the features and customization that is possible, but so far I have no complaints at all. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Went in to the store knowing what I was going to buy. Got a better deal because it was on sale and it was the 8 camera system. Capable of doing 16 cameras. Everything set up very quickly. Had some minor tech issues, but got them resolved very fast with online and phone support. Has been amazing having this system for the home. Would recommend for anyone with a home.

The instructions were not detailed enougb unless you download from the computer. Love the idea that I can be away from the system and still see what is going on at home day or night.

I got this system due to vehicles being broken into not too far from my house. With 8 cameras, I have outside and inside covered. Set up with pretty straight forward. The instructions could be more detailed. The quick guides get you close and refer to online for more detailed instructions if needed. When checking them out, there didn't seem to be much in the way of complete instructions. As for the FLIR app for the iphone - it works well. I came to the realization that if I view the cameras, I go ahead and clear the cashe. If I don't, I get a cannot connect error the next time I go to see the cameras from the app. Once I figured that out, all works perfectly. The quality of the picture is great. I have it hooked up to a 32" 720p LED tv via HDMI and they look great. Night vision is awesome as well. Be careful not to point towards a streetlamp if it is bright as it may wash out the picture. The DVR is pretty loud. It sounds like a desk fan running all the time. That would be my only complaint as I have it in my bedroom. I am starting to get use to the white noise but I would do it all over again. Best value hands down quality vs price of this system.

Great product for basic home use. Initial installation and setup are fairly easy, however, web view required a quick call to tech support as there were no printed instructions included in the box. Tech support was a very pleasant surprise as it was quick and US based. Up and running in no time.

After purchasing a 1080p system from a different vendor and returning it I decided to purchased the lorex dvr model LHV0016S, setting it up was quite easy. However since I purchase this system for my mother whom lives in a different stated I wanted to set it up using the lorex ddns service, setting it up was quite easy had a little trouble setting up the password which I open up a ticket with lorex and I was totally surprised how quickly they responded( within hours), which was one of the reason I had returned the previous system from the other vendor because they took over 7 days to respond. Anyway I love the system has great picture and most of all I’m able to set it up using lorex ddns.

A great buy for the money. Set up was not easy but the phone in tech service was great. Sorta of wish I had bought one model up since my DVR doesn't have any off and on control so you have to pull the plug from the wall to turn it off.overall tho, a good product .
