This is the worst product ever due to the crappy customer service . I have a few of these in my home and business I built a new house have a new unit that has been locking up since day one . i open a ticket went for replacement approval now its dead and no body has contacted me its in limbo .Mean while i get a bugler alarm guess what no cameras . This stuff and there support is useless so far I have seen don't buy it I will be posting this every where i can so people know what there getting into .

I upgraded from a Zmodo system to a LHV10162T, taking advantage of high-resolution Securities Cameras and the universal connectivity with iPhone, Mac, and PC based computers.
The rewiring to LHV10162T was simple and the setup at LHV10162T is easy. The LBV-1521-C 720p HD CCTV Camera has a good day/night picture. Right now the selection of available cameras for the LHV10162T is quite limited and I hope a few more models will be available soon (etc. variable focus ...)
The Flir Client app for Mac (I use Macbook Air and MacPro Desktop) is a bit tricky to navigate and could use quite a bit of improvement (more intuitive icons or better help functions...). The viewing and playback functions work nicely. The App for my iPhone works great (local and remote) but App for the Ipad2 has issues - it connects - but crashes when viewing live mode.
So far, the LHV10162T is a big improvement to my previous system and worthwhile the money and effort spent.

It was easy to use and took very little configuration and maintenance. The upgrade to the new LHV1016 went smoothly and we didn't have to rewire. Overall the LHV-1000 system is quite good. However, has a lot of minor faults. Enlarging individual camera on DVR is intermittent at best. Remote setup failed on several occasions. When downloading and opening Flir Client for Mac , and then opening, then exit, application crashes. Camera quality is far better that most other CCTV systems in the same price range.

Set up was fairly easy. Had some issues with connecting to PC when downloading Client Software from for FLIR Cloud Client. The issue was my resolution was set to medium (125%), when changed back to normal was able to download and set up just fine. I say this in hopes that this might help others. Still having trouble connecting the FLIR Cloud to IPhone, tech support long waits. Other than that, system works great, great upgrade from my prior SD system. Great night vision.

So far it's been a headache after a headache. The installation easy. The software set up very complicated. I had "wrong password" errors after typing the right one several times. Then it locks me. To find something on the web site it's impossible. Everything is hidden. Tried to download Client Software for PC for WHERE IS IT??? Very little effort was made to make this a nice experience. I loaded the app to my Galaxy tab. I scanned the device, imput name and password. It tells me invalid password. Tried over and over and now it locked the whole system. This is a joke!!! Now, how long am i going to wait until i can access the commands again? 24 hours? And try to find the answers for this problems and you just can't. I have to go to Forums to find answers. You know what? I'm this lose to return this thing back to Costco.

I bought this camera system from Costco when it first came out. The quality of the images are decent and are superior to 960H systems. According to Lorex the camera housings and mounts are made out of durable Poly Carbonate material. This is not the case with the Cameras that were included in my system. Adjusting the direction of the cameras requires using a Philips screwdriver to tighten and untighten the screw. 7 out of 8 of the cameras developed hairline cracks along the outside where the screw holds the camera in position. I don't know if I received a bad batch of cameras but the quality seems like cheap plastic because it easily cracked when tightening the screw to lock it into place. I did not even use much force to get them to crack. I returned the camera system to Costco because it clearly not good quality.

The initial set up on this system is simple. Video displays instantly after the initial installation. Picture quality is excellent. The only down-fall to the entire installation experience is the Flir Cloud app on my phone. The app needs some major debug as it drops the video from time to time. I have to always reboot my phone every time I want to view my live video on my phone. For those bad reviews, the average person needs to have some IT knowledge to help with the installation and the IP address mapping, Sorry.

I purchased this unit at Costco last weekend and I will be returning it tomorrow. The DVR and cameras seem to function fine, which is a shame because the support is godawful. The cloud component (Flir Cloud) does not work at all with my unit. I called Lorex for tech support and got a recording telling me to call Flir for support. Calling Flir got me placed on hold for over an hour before it rang once and then HUNG UP! That is over 3 hours of my life spent listening to their hold music for absolutely nothing. I emailed Lorex tech support but haven't gotten a reply other than the auto-response email confirming that they received my request. Since I bought this from Costco I tried using the Costco Concierge service, but that didn't go anywhere. The first guy went down an obviously wrong path, the second promised me a callback that never happened and the third finally admitted that the only thing I could do was to call Lorex (been there, done that). I have now spent over 5 hours on the phone trying to get to someone that can actually help, but with nothing to show for it. It really shouldn't be this difficult to get support on a product that I spent this much money on.

We are horse breeders, so we use our LOREX system to monitor our foaling stalls during the breeding and foaling season. Our mares all wear electronic foaling monitor devices which call us when a mare is down more than 15 seconds.

With our LOREX cameras we can immediately look at the mare from our iPhone, iPad or computer to see if she is just rolling, resting or if she truly looks like she may be beginning to go into labor. Having this ability to remotely view the stalls without having to be in the barn looking at the DVR monitor in the office is fantastic as we are generally monitoring multiple mares at a time and mares most often seem to call us in the wee hours of the morning. Although we are on the property, this will save us MANY unnecessary trips to the barn in the middle of the night only to see a mare calmly standing there eating hay, looking at us with that "what are YOU doing here at this time of night?" look on her face.

The clarity of the pictures that the cameras give us is excellent. We are VERY happy with this system. Set-up was fairly simple after we resolved the issue of some closed ports that needed to be opened. The LOREX tech support people were very helpful with guiding us through this. I would definitely recommend this system to others.

I purchased a lorex edge + after 15 months system monitor would not show anything. I called support and they told be I needed a new dvr. I purchased a new dvr and still had the same problem. I called support and they said they would have someone call. when the person called I happened to be out of the office. so I called support and was told there was a 50 minute wait.

Be aware, I order this item after I mentioned to a sales person that I needed to connect 8 wireless cameras and 4 wire ones; went and bought the unit with the 8 wireless cameras as I had already the 4 wired; after I hire someone to do the installation and found that that one of the receivers was faulty, I called support and was told that I should only be connecting 4 wireless cameras to a one DVR; so unbelievable, going through all this to only find out during installation. I guess Lorex is more concern about getting their product out of the door than telling people the real story from the beginning.

Great Security DVR

old PC-based security system died, so re-connected the same cables into this Lorex Edge - and we were back in business. completed the the whole setup in about 20-mins without needing to read the manual.

interface is very intuitive, remote monitoring works great. I had one technical question that I asked over the phone with Lorex support, they actually answered the phone, registered my serial# and gave me a lot of good info. Excellent support!

would definitely buy again, this is a great inexpensive little device.

This security DVR provided clear markings for hook up. The UI interface is awkward but understandable so navigation for set up doesn't take long.

I purchased this DVR because of it's IP capabilities and it delivered. It requires a few hoops to set up on it's supported devices but after that, it just works. I have it working on Apple Mac's, Apple iPads and Android phones.

A bonus for me was the free provided remote capabilities. You go through Lorex's DNS service and then, you have the same IP capabilities but outside the home.

I would have rated this a 5 except that there was no composite video out (it's actually the one marking on the back that is unclear).

easy setup

The lorex Edge was easy to set up. Plug everything in and your set. I like how it works on ie safari iphone and blackberry. However it does not work on android phones as of yet. Also their auto port forwarding feature didn't seem to work. They have a proxy service from yoics which the lorex manual directs you to sign up for. While I did sign up for it the yoics wizard never found my lorex and I wasted about 20 min trying to get it to work but no luck. Eventually I decided to do the old fashioned way and port forward on my router. It seems like you only need to open one port and you can get remote viewing / playback on ie safari and mobile phones but I have yet to setup remote viewing on iphone.

Pros: good for the price.

500 gb hdd too small ( but you can always upgrade)

Yoics proxy service didn't work for me ( but I worked around it)

No android phone support ( im sure this is soon to come)
