This is an amazing product. The play back is amazing. We were so impressed we ordered two additional add on cameras.
Purchased this system last week. After installing wireless cameras and completing setup of DVR, I was extremely pleased to see the incredible video quality displayed from all 4 cameras on my system! Ease of monitoring motion alerts via video playback, and tweaking settings occasionally, is a breeze with your PC and mobile client software. I especially like that I can monitor what's going on at home from anywhere!! Online support is product-specific, but doesn't show all downloads and user guides mentioned in the User Manual. My product suggestions: ONLINE: It would be great if you had one section to show ALL available downloads and guides for Lorex products, to make it easier to grab what I need instead of doing a lot of searching to find what I need. SET UP GUIDE: Add a section in the set up guide listing all available downloads and information guides that could be used for the product being installed and set up. Overall, I love the system!! Not having to run hundreds of feet of cable was a BONUS!
This unit is great. It works well and is affordable. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the lack of detailed programming instructions. I bought this unit on the weekend. Lorex customer service is not open on the weekend. Lorex does have knowledgeable customer service representatives but the wait is in excess of 30 minutes. Lastly, when attempting to register my unit's warranty I had great difficulty. In the end I could only complete the registration without attaching a copy of the receipt.
Again, this is a great unit just be prepared to invest time in programming it to work exactly the way you want. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

I purchased this system for my husband for Father's Day. A neighbor across the street had been robbed during broad day light recently and hubby had been talking about installing a system for the outside of the house. We currently have drop cam system for inside of house but don't like the fact that if we want recording we have to pay for it. Thought dvr was the way to go for the outside. Connecting to wifi was easy. I did have a professional install the cameras on the outside as I wanted the electrical wires out of reach. We've had everything hooked up for about a month now and haven't had any big issues. The dvr was beeping every so often and trying to figure out what the beeps mean via the manual on Internet was no help. I finally figured out how to turn all the beeping off but still not sure what caused the beeping. Overall I feel it is a good investment

My brother bought me this Lorex Wireless security system when I became an 'empty nester'. I was nervous about the installation that it needed. I wasn't sure how I was going to hook it all up, knowing how little I know about technical devices. It was simple! I followed the easy to read instructions and uploaded the apps on my phone and laptop. I did have a few questions on how to work the device so I called the tech support. They were wonderful! everything was taken care of and all my questions were answered. I think I will purchase a few additional cameras just to watch the pets while I'm gone!

The system works great. Cameras are easy to install. The iPad connection works great but I am having trouble with the PC connection. I cannot get the camera pictures to appear. I am sure I will figure it out eventually.

This product is great. Very easy installation. Cameras and DVR work fantastic. I would recommend this. Had only one issue and that was setting up the DDNS, videos on website a little outdated, but called customer service and they were great. Have had system for about 2 weeks. I'm somewhat techy, but had a few set up issues. Called custowmer service, they took their time and helped with email set up and another issue. Great customer service!!. Yesterday received an email alert, saw one of my dogs running around, they escaped their containment- funny. Adds peace of mind. Nice system -- Thank You Lorex!!!
My husband received this as a Father Day gift. Easy to install, my son and I spend a couple of hours installing three of the four cameras and completing the setup using the Quick Guide that came in the box. I do not have the receipt as it was a gift so I have some concerns since the warranty requires it. I had some difficulty finding the full 150 page user manual on this site as it was not under support as I would have thought it would be since that is usually where I find it for other products. Overall, we like this product, it performs well. One item I like is the phone app. It has come in handy as we live in a two story home and when the camera's motion detector beeps, I have my phone right by my bed side and can easily investigate what is outside. For now, I give this product a 5 out of 5, however since it has only been a month since we installed it, I will come back if things change.
I have only had system for a short time but so far everything is working well. I had a little trouble getting one of the cameras to pick up a signal but contacted my internet provider and uped my service speed now we're good.the only real issue I had was the power cords are really short ,especially when most of your wires are run through atic.but I was able to have a few made because I didn't have time to wait for an online order but it would have been nice if they had come with it.I spent around 40 dollars for them.I am enjoying the picture quality and feel really secure now.

The DVR installation and setup is simple. However, it is not intuitive where on the Lorex web site to download the client software for the computer. I used the chat option and was given the link to the program. The client software is very detailed and works well. Each camera can be set up differently or the same. Set up one and copy the settings to the others with a simple click.
The apps for the phone and tablets are not as good. I have an Android phone and found the app to be decent, but the iPad app is awful. Very little control of the DVR.
Once your system is setup and running, you will want to turn off the annoying beep for motion.
It's a little difficult to set up but tech support is very easy to work with. I think it needs improvement with app compatibility (sending notifications if the motion senors get triggered).

Would definitely recommend this product. Purchased from Best Buy and I installed same day. It's wireless and only requires power. The Stratus app works great and I can view my cameras from anywhere at anytime (the DVR must remain connected via ethernet cable to your router to do so... if you just use wireless network with no LAN you will only be able to view cameras on TV via HDMI.) If your cameras are pointed at a building you get the true distance night vision. If not you maybe get 50ft. With the 1TB DVR it continously records for 7 days of even longer if set to just motion recording (not recommended if live on busy street with cars). Great value for the price and really enjoying the piece of mind.

Did a fair amount of research - asked a tech or two for opinions - ended up deciding to buy the Lorex system.
Setup was not difficult, but also not intuitive to a guy who had never set one up before. Still I was able to get it fully functional without making a call to for support from Lorex or the company I purchased it through. Only been running for a few days so can't address longevity, but I should mention the first unit I brought home only ran for about 6 hours before it died - but that was because of the Western Digital hard disk, not anything Lorex could have done.
As mentioned by a few others, the night vision capability is not as good as the color daytime recordings. So I would recommend that if you most value night recording you either provide supplementary lighting or make sure the camera is relatively close to the entrance or other thing you are surveilling.
Rationale for a 4-star rating - two things preventing a 5-star, each worth about a half-star:
1 - the night vision capability, and
2 - I'm one of the guys who uses a Microsoft Windows phone because it ties in seamlessly to the work enterprise - but the Lorex system works only for iPhones and Android - needs a Windows 10 universal app.
I bought the system in Jan 2016, installed and set up were easy. I like the app on Android and iPhone. Picture quality during daytime is clear, night vision is not as clear, need extra light source such as flood light near by to get a better picture. After almost 6 months, one of the eye was clouded with moisture/water inside. It's still under warranty and waiting for its replacement. I give it a 4 starts over 5.

I rate this product 4 out of 5 stars. It did take some time to learn how to work the camera, Setting it up. Time and date reviewing the video. The picture quality during the day is very clear and great. Night vision is not as clear. I did catch someone on video looking around in my back patio at 1am in the morning. Wish the night vision picture was clearer. One of the cameras night vision stop working but it was under warranty and I was able to have it replaced.
I researched several wireless camera systems including the cheaper China systems and this system stood out for my needs:
- 4 cameras
- night vision
- motion triggers
- Small reliable wireless hub with on premise recording to free up bandwidth and no monthly fees
- multi year warranty option with reputable company
- purchasable instore (Best Buy) so I could easily return if needed
The app works well and the Hub software setup works awesome.
My only negatives are :
- articulating the camera view after installing is tricky especially with the Allen wrench need. Hard to set in tight corners. A rotating ball and socket for 360 movement would be much better.
- the 12V power cable extensions offered on the site are too short. I had to purchase the BNC+ power cables that come in longer lengths and I leave the BNC unused.

I really like having the security cameras. The product is easy to install and setup.
My problem is with the stability of the camera. I had one replaced because a thin red flim/cloud showed up on the right side of the picture. Replaced the camera, but after pairing, it still had problems with range with the receiver. I tried to adjust the antenna, then the red film showed up on the new camera, and cannot resolve the problem.
The motion detector works great. Not happy with the night vision quality, very poor with the image.
Self troubling shooting leaves a lot to be desired. And cannot find a full user guide online for my system. A hard copy should be included

I just recently purchased my LH050 system and I am pleased with the performance. The system is relatively easy to install, but plan on several hours to mount cameras if your premises is brick or stucco and you have to run the power cable for the cameras to a 120v ac outlet. The software is another issue. I have had to make numerous calls to tech support to get the software configured properly. I still am having a problem with the ddns (it won't work) but working with tech support to resolve the issue. Tech support has been prompt and very helpful, but would be better if techs could speak good English. The instructions that came with my system would not work with the system which is what caused most of the problems.
