Very easy to set up and use. Had for 2 months with no issues. Online chat good with response. Phone time takes awhile.

I mounted the cameras but did not apply power. I connected and configured the receiver and DVR. Once everything was ready, I powered up the cameras and then the DVR and receiver. All four cameras appeared and were working normally. I was very surprised that the installation went so smoothly. Image quality is excellent. The most difficult aspect of the installation was finding the DVR Operation Manual on the website. The Manual was very helpful in understanding the user interface. One of the cameras has problems with the threads that screw into the mount. I reinforced the threads with some teflon tape, seems to be holding. One camera, 20 feet from the receiver, randomly goes "Out of Range" then eventually returns. On one occasion it went off and stayed off. I disconnected the camera and brought it into the house and powered it up right in front of the receiver, it came back to life and I reinstalled it out front. I tried to contact Tech Support but they never responded. Overall, I am happy with the system.

I've had a Lorex two camera system for years and it worked fine so I decided to upgrade to a four camera system. I plugged this system in and it worked perfectly. I'm still learning the ins and outs but am very happy with it. It's a five star rating for me.

Easy to do initial set-up. Working with internet access and DDNS is a big challenge. Not for the non-tech person.

Better documentation would be a plus. system is on and working... now need to mount cameras outside. That will be a challenge to get power to cameras and route cords out of sight.

Overall, a good system, but takes some planning and work to get it where you need it .

I love my Lorex security system but I was having issues with my system picking up my wifi. My system worked good for 2 months. I was on the phone with IT support and we almost had it back up and running but I had to go and get a VGA cord. When I got back the IT support didn't call me back in 20 minutes like we discussed. So I end up buying another system and now one of the cameras is not working. Maybe oneday when I have time I could call support to help me get my camera from my new system up and running correctly. I would recommend this system to everyone. I just wish the IT support would do better on their behalf. 5 star rating from me.

I purchased this system from Sam's Club at a reasonable price. Documentation for the system was limited but is available online. Only problem with the online manual is that it is hard to locate on the website. Need clearer website map. Easy to set up and quality pictures. Had to set the sensitivity for the motion alarm to low and medium to get video and email alerts. This system is much better than the Wanscams that I had installed earlier.

Update: Customer Service finally called back, after two hours!

I have had numerous problems with this and it has been down for over a month. I am not tech savvy and had to wait for someone to come and deal with it over the phone. Today, I have called twice and was told my wait would be in excess of thirty mins both times. I left my phone number for a callback, which never happened either time. I am very disappointed and the sad thing is, I have another system just like this, that I haven't set up yet.

Our apologies, we are experiencing longer than usual wait times.

This is the worst product it hasn't worked right straight out of the box. Also the customer service and tech support and even sales reps are terrible at their jobs. If i was the owner of this company everyone would be fired. I called and called evertyday for 2 months and no one responded to my call. They even took 2 months to send me replacement parts that didnt fix a thing. I ap on my phone never works. I want my money back and the only one i would recommend this product to is a land fill. It is straight garbage.

I already have a DVR with wired cameras but I wanted to also have some coverage away from the house. At my local warehouse club, I found this DVR with 4 wireless cameras as a package which listed a better range than the alternatives. In my initial test of the unit, I was pleasantly surprised when I found that the cameras were already paired with the DVR. Prior to actually mounting a camera in my furthest desired location, I placed the camera near the location and connected power. I then checked the DVR and found that I had a high quality picture.

I then proceeded with actually mounting the camera which included drilling through cinder block, running electric, etc. After installation, I no longer am getting a signal so I suspect interference with the eave and/or gutter main be the issue. I have just ordered a more powerful omnidirectional antenna and a panel antenna to see if one of the other can correct that issue. My rating of the product is conditional on this correcting the issue.

The interface is clunky, difficult to navigate and DDNS never did work. Don't download the app for your phone!!They want access to everything on your phone and don't need it to remotely access the DVR. Avoid this product.

We've had the cameras up and running for a month now. Initial set up of the cameras outside was fairly easy. We do occasionally still have "out of range" signals. Accessing the manual online is frustrating. I called Customer Service to request a printed manual and was on hold for 55 minutes; had to give up because of other commitments. During that time I also tried to initiate an online chat. After asking my question, the response was that chat wasn't available at this time. I tried again the next day and had the same chat response. I emailed my request to Customer Service two days ago. I received an automated response with a ticket number assigned but the only email response has been this request for a review. Think we could be very happy with the camera system if we had a printed manual to help us advance our set up. Guessing we could give a better rating if we received a printed manual.

Good daytime picture - color when there's lots of light. Night vision is narrow, but it's ok. Any ambient light increases the field - porch lights, etc. It's easy to set the camera function by using the mouse. You do have to download the dvr instructions from the website, but they're thorough and easy to understand. It's a user-friendly system. We had an issue with one of the cameras and one chat with tech support fixed the problem. Tech support and customer support are very helpful and courteous.

Be aware, this system is 2.4 GHz - it may interfere with your Wi-Fi.

We've only had the system a week but so far, so good. Right now I would recommend this product.

Cameras were easy to set up with the help of an electrician installing extra outlets on the outside of the house. Had some issues in the beginning with beeping and saying the cameras were out of range, but seems to have stopped. I have never been able to set up the mobile phone notifications, which I would really like to have. I do find the instruction manual you can download a bit confusing, wish they could make it a little easier to follow.

The cameras are not bad for the price. The night viewing is limited after about 20 feet. You will have to unplug the main box about once every two weeks so it will link back with the app on your phone.I have one camera that has water in it and has quit working. I have not contacted customer service yet , we will see how that goes . You can't add extra cameras to the system.

This system is very easy set up. I was a little worried as I purchased IP cameras before and it seemed that you had to be a computer programmer t set them up. Glad I went with the DVR this time. one complaint I have it it seems it doesn't come with a lot of printed instructions. I needed help on networking and viewing from a computer and I was on hold with technical support over 37 min an still didn't talk to anyone, I finally figure it out. other than that set up is easy I had them connected to my phone within 20 of opening the box

Thank you for your feedback. You can find a link to the full system manual under the Downloads tab of this page

Bought this unit due to some theft in the area. Easy to set up, and the picture quality is great. The Android app works well 95% of the time. Had a problem with one of the cameras, which I know Lorex will help me with. Other than that, my only real complaint is the display lag. If someone walks in the front door and straight to my office, I can not see who it is until they are past the lobby and almost stepping into my office. My office network is fast and modern, but I have timed the lag at around 3 seconds. A faster processor and/or more RAM in the DVR would probably cure this but, for the price, this unit is hard to beat. I have to unplug the power from the DVR about once a month, in order to perform a "hard reset", but once a month is acceptable for a device that is on 24/7. In response to another review stating that there is no Windows support and you need a high-end cell phone to use the app - you can find the Lorex DVR in your list of network devices and use the web-based interface to view from Windows or Mac OS-based PC's, and I have had no problem using the app on a mid-level Android 5.0 Lollipop GSM cell phone. I would recommend this to others.

Only had my device hooked-up for less than two weeks. Spent half of last Saturday on the phone with technical support because DVR does not work correctly. Keeps saying password error. Tech. Support gave me numerous new passwords to try. Then it worked correctly for one day but stopped again. I opened another ticket two days ago online. They emailed me back said they would respond in 48 hours. That has come and gone and no help. Meanwhile they emailed me about the first ticket number and stated it would closed because I had not contacted them in five days??? So I'm confused.... I ask for help twice no response to my second ticket and they are closing the first. Oh and I did try to call them back on the first ticket and was on hold for 48 minutes and finally hung up! Meanwhile still have technical problems and DVR will not allow me to log into the system. I have no idea if it is recording or not. While talking to them on the first technical support ticket they hung up on me once and I had to call back two more times ended up speaking with three people total and had to keep repeating my problem. They stated the device is most likely faulty and needs to be replaced. Not very happy right now! I want my device replaced! It is less than a few weeks old and does not work correctly!

We're very sorry to hear you are having trouble with your DVR. Our technical support team has replied to your ticket and awaits your action.

Controller locks up a lot. Menu sticks open, or closed and no way to manage the system except to unplug it. Very buggy. Did all the steps to fix, but like all FAQ its full of people who have no idea what they are talking about. Updated the firm ware and software or at least it says its up to date. No windows support only android, so if you want remote you are stuck looking at your cell phone. And app only works with very high end cell phones! You better have an iPhone 6000 or the Galaxy bazillion. Tech support looked good at first, fill out a work order and wait, but tech support only closes our tickets and does not contact us. We are returning to the store.

Our apologies for any difficulty you experienced. Our technical support team replied to your ticket. They can also be reached Monday to Saturday, 9am to 10pm EST at 1-877-755-6739. Thank you.

We had a problem with one camera and the DVR but Lorex Customer service was very helpful. It was a very easy install. The pictures are very clear. We love it. The only problem as of now is the alarm. It alarms when there is no motion, and we disabled the alarm, but it still alarms at times.

I was looking for a competitively priced Wi Fi system and discovered the LH041 Series Wireless HD Digital Video Recorder with Stratus Connectivity at My local maplins store.
The price was fair as was the fitting service although being a MAC user i did have some difficulty getting the displays on my MAC My I phone connected seamlesly.
a faulty camera was replaced and all seems well with my choice
I chose the WI FI System because my property is of a compact nature and the installation of cameras without tracking wires back to the recorder worked well with even my farthest camera operating on 4 bars signal strength
My main complaint is trying to follow the instruction for connecting to PC and MAC was near impossible but thanks to lorex siting up a dd n s account i am now able to view my system from anywhere in the world on any computer by simply signing on a URL
My thanks to Lorex for the product and more thanks to Marlins technical support for their invaluable help

I have tried other wireless cameras but never got them working properly. The Lorex camera were pretty easy to set up. I do wish they would come from the factory with the alert tone disabled as it chimed on and off for over 2 hours until we called customer service. The representative was so helpful and walked me through the entire process to disable the alert.
I have noticed some lag time but I guess that is to be expected with wireless cameras. They also go on and off during the day but they are approx 50 feet from the main DVR source. Overall I am happy with my purchase and I would recommend them over any other brand.

The Lorex customer service is great! They are helpful and take their time with you. They will walk you through every aspect of setting up the system. The system itself is fine. However, the 720p cameras are awful. You can barely make anything out, the picture is poor quality. I would advise that you buy 1080p cameras for sure to have good picture quality. If the cameras were better, I would give 5 stars.

I went looking for a wireless security camera system to keep an eye on my house and property while I am away, we are currently dealing with a difficult neighbor. The install was quick and very easy, I had three cameras up and running in less than an hour. The phone app works great, both android and apple, it is easy to access the cameras when at work. My wife has the peace of mind knowing that there is always someone watching our property and pets. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone.

I've had my system for about a month now and have been very impressed with the system and support. It is fairly easy to set up for a 60 year old man! Playback is fun to see what has been going on around my farm. The one issue I had was one camera would not function at night, but one call to support and another camera was sent right away. If you want a good system for a reasonable price, this is your product. Since the system runs wireless, I have upgraded my Router and purchased a wireless range extender so that all of our "wireless" electronics in the house have good signals.

I purchased this kit because I can not run cables in my home

The dvr is so far very good and the cameras are good with good picture quality

The biggest problem I have is the wireless range, One camera is only 4 meters

away from the receiver with a double glazed door in between and I have only

1 bar on the signal strength. This is disappointing as the camera keeps loosing

it's signal all together. hence this kit was very nearly returned to the store

In the end I found some very slightly larger sma antennas to fit the cameras

and the receiver this solved my problem

The conclusion is that this is a good kit with a BUT, Be aware of the weak wireless

I purchased the lorex system because the box says it works with any laptop, tablet or mobile device. I didn't have a whole lot of time to figure everything out when I set it up before we left on vacation, except lorex does not have the app for my windows phone. So current I am only able to have pictures emailed to me when motion is detected. When I get home I will try to get the DDNS working. I decided to put the cameras inside my house facing each entry, because it was easier to plug them in & I will take the cameras with me when I move next year. I placed my 4th camera in the garage that is about 100' away from the house. During the night it works perfectly, but during the day it continuously loses the signal. I ordered a range extender antenna to put on the garage camera as soon as we get home.

I purchased the LH041 2 camera wireless system from Costco
There are some disappointing aspects to the system such as:
1) The field of vision cannot be isolated / reduced.
2) The infared for night time does not have clear images
3) The email notification settings are confusing and in 6 hours
I got 32 messages, really eats into my data.
4) System setup and configuration required technical assistance
with remote access to my computer took 90 minutes.
5) Still finding system confusing after 2 weeks and will need
to call technical assistance again.

Cameras were easy to hook up as long as a 120V source is

Will try for the next 60 days before return policy is due

I purchased the LH041 wireless system with 2 cameras. Setup is easy and the picture quality is very good. I had problems with the initial setup for the web version and software for a PC. I did call support and with the help of the technician the problem was solved quickly. The web version requires Internet Explorer to run and will not run on Google Chrome. The PC software was corrupt on the download and once that was removed, re-downloaded and installed everything was fine.

Bought this system from Sam's Club less than a week ago. Has the features I was looking for and was reasonably priced. Easy setup mostly. I purchased the LH041 wireless system. Setup was very simple and complete installation from opening the box to a full-up system was approximately 3 hours. The instructions for installation and basic setup were very easy to follow. For a detailed user's manual, you do need to go onto the website to download since it is not included. If you do not want to drill holes and run cable, this is the system you need. You do need to have an electrical outlet in the vicinity of each camera.

I purchased the LX4471W wanting exterior security surveillance in addition to my monitored alarm system. I have an older home so running wire throughout is not an option. After reading reviews on this product I decided to give it a try and I am glad I did. The installation of the cameras was very easy and the setup of the DVR took all but about 30 minutes. I am going to give the product a 4 star as I have not owned it long enough to give it a solid 5, but I would recommend it. we purchased this product and installed it ourselves, It was easy to set up and install the cameras. The quality of picture is very good, in true color during daylight hours , black and white at night, there is a slight delay but nothing of that should cause any concern. It would be nice to be able to use the app with he ddns domain I set up for accessing the system remotely from a computer. Lorex needs to fix this and allow for the feature.

I purchased this product and installed it myself . It was very easy to set up and install the cameras by myself . The quality of picture is phenomenal ,so clear ,, in true color during daylight hours , black and white at night. The night vision is awesome , no matter how dark it is the cameras capture every movement. I love this system and would recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a security system ! Great product for an affordable price , that will give you peace of mind.

Product is good but has many irritating points.

1. Date-time is only available in US format the other selections are disabled.

How can I trust this level of security? I'm only interested in motion not hours of static video.

Sort these things out and it's fine. If I don't get motion detection sorted out, I'll go for a full refund.
