Security footage like you've never seen

Your NR800 Series NVR is capable of recording a 2K pixel resolution (2272 x 1704) on every channel. This will provide you with a new level of detail and clarity when combined with 2K resolution security cameras. The higher resolution will increase the digital zoom function, so you can see further into the distance without drastically reducing image quality. This NVR also supports a wide range of our compatible 1080p digital IP security cameras, alongside 2K security cameras.

easy installation with PoE (Power over Ethernet technology)

Plug-and-play installation via PoE

Simply connect your IP cameras to the NVRs 8 integrated power-over-ethernet (PoE) ports for a truly plug-and-play surveillance experience. Using PoE technology, each camera only requires a single ethernet cable to connect it to the NVR. This all-in-one cable provides both power and video transmission up to 300ft / 91m. The auto-detect function automatically discovers and configures compatible IP cameras on the same local network as the NVR so you will have your system up and running in no time. This NVR can also incorporate a PoE switch. This switch allows you to not only extend and minimize the amount of cabling required, but it also opens the door for additional cameras.

Security grade hard drive for high workloads

Pre-installed security grade hard drive

Weeks (if not months) of recorded security footage can be safely stored on the dependable 1TB security certified hard drive inside of the NR800 Series NVR. Not only is this HDD designed to be in constant use, it can easily continue to record even while you watch recorded footage. Schedule specific time periods or adapt the NVR to record at a lower resolution to extend available hard drive space. You can also maximize storage space by recording only when movement is detected.

upgraded from edge3 dvr, this one is a lot quieter then the edge 3, can still here a fan running to keep it cool, but not a loud annoying sound like my last one.
the picture is much better, can see every blade of grass in the yard. the app to view your cameras on your phone is quite easy to setup and use. Took 2 weeks before they shipped it out of there warehouse though, i was very disappointed in the amount of handling time! so if you buy one expect it to take at least 2 1/2 weeks to reach your home!

The UI is easy to understand. I like to use Internet Explorer to connect to the NVR because I am not at the NVR all the time. I do not like the PC client version (FLIR CLOUD) program. If you use more than one camera, you need to change the hard drive from 1 TB to something bigger. I am using one cam and recording motion, the hard drive seems to only hold 30 days. I might have done some setting wrong.

My 8 channel POE camera NVR

on

We have a 16 channel system in our business and we decided to add a few extra camera so we were forced to either by one larger system or separate out systems into internal and external systems. We chose the separate systems route and ordered a new 8 channel DVR. Loren was great in working with us to get the price savings aligned with our original order. The products work great and we have no complaints about our cameras or this 8 channel NVR. Having two NVRs on my app is seamless to switch back and forth on for remote viewing...they did a great job with their product line. People say Lorex is not top of the line security equipment, but I say just because you don't have to pay over $5,000 for a security system doesn't mean it isn't top of the line for what I need. Thanks Lorex, love both the systems we bought from you.

So far this is great NVR & IP camera system. The image quality is far better than I expected and the NVR was easy to setup on smartphones/tablets. The only suggestion I have is to simplify the setup process for PC/Mac remote viewing.

I really like the cameras, NVR and software. The app for the iPhone is really unreliable. It fails to connect more often than it connects. I'm an IT guy. I know 100% that the problem is not with my Internet connection or network. The BIG problem I'm having is this - I had a camera quit working properly. No problem. It's electronics and electronics sometimes fails no matter how new. I contacted support. They concluded that the camera is bad and will need to be replaced. Two days later, I added a ticket note asking if the replacement camera shipped. I received no response. I added 4 additional notes over the next several days trying to get a status update. I can see my notes in the ticket so I know they can too. Never received a response. I called customer service to learn that the camera had not yet shipped. This was about 2 1/2 weeks after the replacement was approved. They told me they would expedite the process. A few more days goes by and I call again. We're now at 3 full weeks after replacement was approved. The replacement still has not shipped. I was told to expect the camera in 5 - 7 business days. I explained how long I had been waiting and asked if they could ship the replacement with Next Business Day shipping. The rep told me they would add my request to the ticket. We shall see. If I could rate the product separately from customer support, I'd give the product 4 stars and customer support 0.

Our sincere apologies for the delay with your replacement. It is being shipped asap.

Easy to setup for novice users, but extremely customizable for the advanced users. This unit has alarm inputs and outputs so you can have a pretty much full blown security system and camera system in one! This is the 4th one I've setup, and I keep coming back for more. Look around on the site for the best bundle - buying this unit with cameras is less expensive than doing it separately. Enjoy!

This product is great. Once it is setup, you're good to go. But if you have to call tech support, be ready to wait or just not get thru to anybody. I've called multiple times and couldn't get thru to anybody after several hours. I would have gave it a better rating if the tech support was helpful.

I bought online with good discount. The system is commissioned. Features are working... and you need to play with it on how to use it.
Systems is stable has not noticed any crash. Look good from last few weeks.

I upgraded from a LNR280 because I wanted the new features available on the NR8081 and the Alarm in/out ports on the back for better motion sensing.

The biggest problem I had was motion sensing on the LNR280. I was receiving so many false alarms my email count was in the thousands, I just had to turn it off! T

he NR8081 Has MAJOR improvements on on sensitivity and threshold adjustments. I thought I was going to have to use a PIR sensor and connect it to the Alarm in ports on the back (Which is A NICE FEATURE! that was not in the LNR280) - but I did not need to. I found a good setting.

The Cameras on this unit handle night vision better, don't expect color night vision unless there is ample lighting, it will still switch to Black and White mode if not.

I added a second 3TB hard drive to this unit for longer recordings. It was so simple to do, any novice can do it with the provided instructions.

I am going to give this new unit 5 stars!

Great camera picture quality with easy installation. Unfortunately, the software is very "clunky". Connection over the internet is not self explanatory and will require more than one call to tech support. The FLIR Cloud Client software is finicky and wasn't available for this model at the time of purchase in 11/15. Had to call to obtain the software for another model. Connecting expandable storage is limited to a USB thumb drive on this model as the NVR will not connect directly to an external hard drive.

Good system so far. Easy setup. My only issues with it is the noisy fan. It never stops even when the air is cool. Ominous out the back.
