A: As a security measure, the NVR will beep after powering on if a camera is not detected on every available channel.

A: The system is set for sequence mode by default. In sequence mode, the NVR will automatically change channels every few seconds. Follow the steps below to turn off sequence mode.

A: Yes, the Lorex netHD Client software is also available for Mac. To navigate the software, use the same instructions in the Instruction Manual and Quick Start Guide as the PC software.

A: Yes, the NVR is a high power device that includes an internal Power over Ethernet (PoE) power supply for the connected cameras. The volume level of the fan is 50dB from a distance of 3ft. This is about the same as the sound given off by a home appliance such as a refrigerator. The fan operation is necessary to maintain the reliability of the system. It is recommended to consider that the NVR and fan will need to operate at all times when selecting a location to install the NVR.

A: Unlike analog security cameras, IP cameras must complete a startup process before they can transmit video to the NVR. This startup process usually takes under a minute. Once the startup process is complete, the NVR automatically detects the cameras with no configuration required.
A: No, the NVR is designed to work with Lorex PoE (Power over Ethernet) IP cameras (such as LNB2151 and LND2152) only. Lorex does not support connecting other brands of IP cameras to the NVR.
The Lorex LNC100 Series LIVE Ping and Vantage Stream IP cameras are not compatible with the NVR.
A: Yes, you can use CAT 5e or higher grade Ethernet cables to extend the cameras up to 300ft (100m) from the NVR. To connect Ethernet cables to each other, use an RJ45 female-to-female coupler (not included) or network switch (not included).
A: No, the IP cameras are designed to connect to the NVR via the built-in PoE ports. This enables them to be automatically detected and recorded by the NVR once connected. Lorex does not support connecting the IP cameras to the local network or viewing video from the IP cameras except via the NVR.
