Wonderful camera for the price. It is easy to set up and allows me to view the picture on line when not at home. It also allows for notifications when set. Technical help was easy to access to answer questions.

WiFi set up process required no less than a dozen attempts before the camera was online. Very frustrating! Loss connectivity is also a common occurrence. Very unstable. However, when the camera is online, the HD image is superb.

I use these cameras in 3 of my companies showrooms. Very easy to use and setup. So far the Lorex app and desktop program work very well and as expected. Stream quality is good. One negative that I've noticed is zooming in and out. The quality is lowered significantly when you try to do this. Also I wish the picture could be a bit wider, sometimes its hard to cover and view an area due.
Overall very happy and will buy another if my business calls for it.

PERFECT solution to watching your elderly parent. My Dad suffers with dementia and this camera has given me such piece of mind. I can watch him throughout the day and hear/speak to him throughout the day. I didn't get him the life alert because he would forget to use it, but this camera gives me much more access. If he falls, I can see it and call for help. He has a small apartment so 2 cameras did the trick. Super easy set up. No computer required. Cameras do not go offline very often and when they do, they reset themselves and find their signal (unlike our older lorex models that constantly go offline and have to be a manually reset). These cameras are really worth every cent just for the piece of mind. App is very easy to use. I couldn't get the audio to work but it was user error-I had my phone on vibrate. Haha. It still allowed me to talk to my Dad but it didn't allow me to hear him. Just an FYI for any others that have this issue. I bought two.

Not recommended if you require wireless (WiFi) connectivity. I received two of these units (one that I purchased directly and a second as a warranty replacement). Both were very easy to set up and worked fine for 3-4 days, but then failed. In both cases, the units would still work fine if connected via ethernet, but would not connect or work via WiFi. I tried resetting the units (multiple times), power cycling, leaving unplugged for a few days (to cool off), numerous wireless changes, etc. and nothing was able to get the units working again. All other WiFi gear in my house continued to work fine throughout the duration, so I believe the problem was squarely with the Lorex product.
I called Lorex technical support, and this proved to be an exercise in frustration. The tech walked me through all of the typical steps (e.g., make sure the unit is plugged in, reinitialize it, etc.), none of which helped. After over an hour on the phone and the fourth or fifth time of asknig me to reset / reinitialize the unit again

Here's my "take". I don't try to contact Lorex by phone, I create a "Ticket" and that seems to work pretty well. You have to log in to read the ticket, but at least I get answers. It's a bit of back and forth as you are not directly talking to anyone, so communication by email is 'iffy' at best, and at times you need to clearly spell out what is going on - or write it again.
I've had 2 LNC204's (from Costco; on sale $199 for both) for many months. I lost connection very often, and I worked on this for many months. Used a Range Extender, which worked pretty well, but I did not like that solution. I finally moved my router to a more central location, and it took some doing, but it's much better now for all wireless products I have. I don't lose connection any more.
My main issue is that the Temp readings from the 2 cameras are 20 degrees different. I have used a good Fluke meter to check the temps right at the camera's, and one camera is very good, within 1-2 degrees, the other is way off. I am working this with Lorex now via the "Ticket" format they have - sending emails back and forth. Lorex has indicated they will replace the one camera, but this has not happened yet - so I hope it does.
They have new mobile software (12/1/2014) that allows a graph of the temperature, but it only works on one of my cameras. I hope to get it working on the other one soon. (could be a firmware issue? see below)
For the money, these are decent cameras. The Wi-Fi is easy to set up (but I've done it about 50 times, so I know how, but the instructions are clear and easy to follow).
I'd like to be able to send pictures via email to be more clear in my emails, but this is not possible.
I had two Samsung wireless cameras, and a Panasonic (this was a great pan and zoom, but hard to set up - however Panasonic tech support was great - and not hard to contact - they really knew their stuff, and got this camera working in 15 minutes - I had to change settings in the router to allow an open port).. anyway, the Lorex cameras are much easier to use.
For the money, these are nice cameras - not professional, but do the job. I like the new mobile app, but I hope to get the temp chart working on both cameras.
I do not see any firmware updates for this camera, and it's been out a long time. One of my camera's is 030515, the other is 030504 - not sure if this is an issue or not (with the temp reading being different and no Temp chart on one camera) but I hope, thru the Ticket process, I get this resolved.
For now, I'm going to rate these camera's a 3 star, but if the above issues get resolved, then it goes to a 4.
Oh, the alarms and emails work well. The motion alarm is sensitive to light - as headlights set it off, so I have disabled and just keep them recording all the time. One other thing, when you review the recorded information, you need to scroll all the way down many, many, dates to get to the latest recording (today), they should put the latest recording on top - not at the bottom. Sort of a Last Recorded / First Played back set up.
If I can edit this I will should the above issues get taken care of. This was written on 12/2/2014.
I bought 2 of these cameras and found the setup very straight forward. The camera's clarity is not great under low light conditions. The features of the cameras are great.... Having the alarm notifications relieves some stress of travel. The temperature sensor allows for monitoring of the furnace... All in all, I am pleased with my choice...
LOREX HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. CALLED 3 TIMES TODAY AND ALL THREE TIMES SAID WAITING TIME WAS 40 MINUTES. ON 1ST CALL WAITED 25 MINUTES AND COULD NOT WAIT ANY LONGER!!! TRIED TO EMAIL THEM BUT HAD TO GO THROUGH A REDICULOUS REGISTRATION PROCESS FIRST. I want to know how to set up these stupid cameras to make sure they work before registering them. I bought a 2 pk of the Lorex LNC204. The documentation on CD says it is for 2 different models. Cannot get either to be recognized via Wi-Fi and only one I could get set up using an Ethernet cable which is ridiculous since the cameras would be about 15-20 feet from the router. if you have all day to play with them and then wait another day on hold to try to get someone at Lorex go ahead.

I have used a pair of these cameras for a week now. The initial set up is very easy. The app is confusing and does not hold my settings. Sometimes it asks for a password and sometimes it doesn't. The recording to a sd card is nice and sometimes I can access these clips on a mobile device, other times I cannot. I'm not sure if the quality is good enough to identify someone so I'll work on that next. From my research, these are better than what's out there but not really user friendly yet and the customer service is poor.
Choice of apps confusing on iTunes store: which app is for which product. It is difficult to see at first sight.
The ipad app for LNC204 camera working almost perfectly: I am not able to have the sound notification working.
Impossible to download the iphone app from ITUNES. It does not exist... Very strange...
It is often difficult to connect to the camera when away from home, from outside the local area network.
Just got 2 cameras.Set up with wifi and ipad and iphone went well with the "Quick Mobile Guide".
One camera took a few minutes to read the QR Code.Downloaded the manual and walked through everything.Also set up on my PC.
There are a lot of features on these cameras.
I am still learning but am happy with the products.

Just bought this camera and after some difficulty setting it up following the instructions for my Android, it is now working. Instructions provided are not really helpful. Had to set it up with the Ethernet cable directly from the router and then struggled to get the connection to my mobile. Fortunately for me, my son-in-law is an IT professional. However, frustration on both parts finally forced me to contact technical support. First spent about an hour on hold, finally reached a very patient and informative gentlemen who provided much help and direction. It would be helpful to have more detailed printed instructions. The CD provided didn't really help through the installation process.
Just bought this camera for inside the house so I could keep track on what was going on when I was not there. The video on how easy it was to set up and get an app is what sold me on it. I had another brand before and it was and still is not viewable on my cell phone. The lorex cam works good ,I got it going so I could see it on my phone pretty easy with it still hardwired to router. The QR code reader did not work as easy as the video and getting it to work with out being wired to the router was not easy at all.Eventually after 2 days of trying different things I got it to work without being wired to router. So far I am satisfied with the results,just could of been a little more user friendly with wi fi.
Its overall a good product. Only issues i have it's if setting continuous recording, it will only take 5min, stop for 5 min, then started up in 5 min to start recording again. So, with 5 minutes gap in between, i think thats an issue that Lorex should address and fix this problem.
The other thing i wish to control is to have motion higher than 10. Basically i am getting alert if room getting brighter or darker.
This product is very easy to setup.

I just finished putting up a 200-series camera up to monitor our cars parked in front of the house (and the front walk). I set it up to record (continuous loop) to a 32 GB micro SD card for stand-alone operation. It runs day and night providing good images in daylight, twilight and at night.
The camera "looks" out through the front window - so to get glare free operation (the night-vision IR LED reflects off the window glass) I just taped over the IR LED, the cameras night vision lens still picks up enough light for good images. Lorex should provide an option to disable the IR LED.
We pick up streaming images to iOS, Android and PC devices. Wi-fi install was simple and straightforward. The camera is flexible and a good bargain for the price!
Great HD cam. Easy to setup if you have a router with WPS. THe L-View software is not working perfectly, but with a smart phone, it is easy to see live video. Also, the notifications (and schedules) are working fine.
I recently purchased my second LNC204 camera. These cameras are very versatile. I mounted my first camera under the kitchen cupboard near a receptacle. It views across the kitchen towards the rear door of my home. If an intruder enters the door this camera will email snapshots before they can get to the camera. I mounted the second camera bracket to a stained block of wood I can place this cam anywhere that is near an outlet. I can even connect it to my Ethernet port out in my detached garage. I can guard the front door and stairs coming up from the basement. I can watch my pet or the sump pump in the basement while I am at work. These cams have a sensor to monitor temperature. I have the kitchen cam set to give me an alert if the temp rises above a set point. This may detect a fire. The list of applications seem endless.
I was most impressed with the free Lorex Ping App. All of the settings and alerts can be easily set from this app. Smartphone Image quality seems good. The image on my laptop using the included L-View software is very impressive. I had only minor issues with setting the cams up with my wireless network. I think the instructions could be a little better. Overall, I love these cameras.

Have used these over a week now with out any issues. Setup was really easy (I set them up by connecting them directly to my router). L-View picked up the cameras and was displaying the video inside 15 minutes (from the time I started to set them up). Downloaded the android app and was able to connect with the cameras. Have not had any issues with connecting to the cameras with the smartphone. Currently seeing how well my wireless will do as all cameras (3) are set to max resolution and image quality. No problems yet and receive great video, both day and night. The two way speakers work well as does the temperature indicator.
The L-View and L-Play software is working as expected and requires little setup. Wish there was a mask for the passwords on the WIFI setup screen in the Web Configure app so the passwords would be hidden from any prying eyes (if needed) and also hide the passwords that are located in the XML files.
These seems like a great idea for keeping track of when the kids come home and keeping them on track with their homework schedule.

I picked up the 2 pack for a great deal (199). Excellent little cameras. I use mine with a laptop so I have no experience with a tablet or smart phone. Fairly simple to setup. Great features including e-mail alert, record to NAS, temperature alert and two-way audio - all of which can be tweaked to your own personal preference. My only complaint is that the infrared light is visible during night viewing but other than that all lights can be turned off for stealth mode. I will definitely pick up a couple more if that deal comes around again!

Bought samsung cameras at costco. Software was unreliable. Could not access cameras half of the time. Picture quaility just ok. Returned to costco. Love the lorex ping. Picture quaility excellent. No problems accessing cameras. Much happier with these cameras.

Bought the LNC204 LIVE Ping wireless cameras from COSTCO at a great price. With my iPhone I used the Lorex Ping App to set them up. Very easy and quick. I loaded the LOREX L-View software that came with the product on CD on my laptop and it found the cameras and provided another way to configure and view the imagery. I wouldn't view the cameras away from my home network so I went on their support page (FAQ). I downloaded the router config tool from the support section to get the port forwarding to work. Easy to load and once I added all the info the tool needed (outer model, admin user ID and password for router, IP address of the camera, etc..) the tool ran flawlessly. I disconnected from the home network and could access the cameras from Verizon cell service. So far these are great cameras with lots of features. The motion detection, temperature alerts and night vision are perfect for keeping track of things at our summer house. Looking at getting a pair of outdoor cameras next. John

Ordered four LNC204 cameras from Costco. Super easy to set up....under an hour. At this point, I have all the basic functions tested and all is well. These are now my interior cameras. I recently moved the LW2232 wireless cameras to the exterior of the house working off of a Blackbox 2 DVR. The IP cameras pulls up extremely fast on all my devices....iPhone, iPad and Windows 7 computer. No bandwidth lost. Alarm, microphone and speakers are all working great. Looking forward to programing the cameras to record to my computer's hard drive soon. These are great HD cameras. I highly recommend!

Excellent Camera! I can view my home from anywhere using my smartphone or my PC. The set up was very easy and very functional. I am happy with the picture quality as well. The product meets my need perfectly.
For a while now I?ve toyed with the idea of having an wi-fi enabled security camera that I could check over the ?cloud? on my smart phone. I was excited at the prospects offered by this Lorex cam: 1) quick & easy 5 minute setup, 2) Free smart phone app, 3) 2 way audio speaker/microphone, 4) Email & push notifications for specific alerts, 5) day & night view, 6) SD card support for recording. Sadly my experience has thus far been far from easy and to this point I have yet to be able to connect with the camera to see if it?s actually even capturing anything. When I received the camera, I pleasantly surprised by the very small amount of documentation included. In the box I found the camera, a stand, a power cord (which can also be powered by micro usb), a CD with PC software to install, an ethernet cable and a quick start guide in multiple languages. Scanning the quick start guide it suggested a super easy setup process?simply download the Lorex app on my iPhone, input my wifi address and then let the Lorex camera scan the resulting QR code from my phone. I tried it and received a message that my password might be wrong. I tried again with the same error. Again I tried and this time nothing happened. I unplugged the camera and rebooted my phone and tried again. Finally it claimed to have connected to the WiFi. In the camera list on my phone I could see the camera in the ?local search? so I went ahead and tried to connect. I was told the camera was offline. I tried again and was given a nondescript ?failed? error message. Not wanting to give up yet, I took the camera in to my computer and plugged directly to my router via the Ethernet cable. I installed the PC software from the provided disk and I tried to connect via my PC. I saw the camera in my local search and tried to connect. Once again I received either the ?offline? error or a ?failed? error or (more often) no error at all but no camera connection or video stream. I went to the Lorex site to try and find a more detailed manual and some troubleshooting instructions. The site made it a little difficult to find what I wanted. The ?support? section didn?t really address my issues. I did find some articles about ?port forwarding? which I enabled in my firewall and on my router. I also tried completely disabling my firewall. In the instructions I found that there exists a ?web configuration? page for the camera so I tried connecting that way. I found that I could connect to the camera via IP address without problem and that I could adjust a variety of settings there. So the camera was truly online and connected to my network but there was still no way to attach to the video stream (assuming a video stream is actually happening). I continued scouring the support pages for some time. I downloaded the Lorex software for my Mac to see if it had any better luck but it also could not connect. I tried setting up DDNS for the camera but that didn?t seem to help either. I also tried connecting via our ?guest? WiFi at work as well as a ?Verizon MiFi cellular hotspot.? Neither network had any better results. I have put in a support ticket to Lorex to see if they have any additional suggestions or troubleshooting tips. My wireless network is VERY standard. Basically all I have is a (fairly new) out of the box router connected to a cable modem and configured with a WiFi password. As it currently stands I have a rather expensive piece of metal and plastic which flashes some pretty LED lights but doesn?t seem to do much else. I am giving it a provisional 1 out of 5 stars. Hopefully their support team will be able to help me get it up and running, at which point I will gladly revise this review and provide a better score accordingly.
Easy enough to get a picture feed on my laptop at home but can't see either camera on my android smartphone or through the web. Back to Costco for an IP camera that works over the web.

Great product and really easy to install. I had 2 cameras running within 20 minutes after I received the shipment. I was impressed by the quality of the video under all light conditions. So far my only minor complaint is the inability to suppress the power light on the camera.as I can with the status LED. I never would have considered the temperature reading to be an important feature but now I'm really finding it handy. I'm already considering other uses and contemplating the order of additional cameras.
I noticed that the viewing angle from this HD camera (model no. MCNC200) is less than model LNC 104, even though it said the veiwing angle is 66 degree compare to 60.3 degree respectively. It's a little dissappointing.
The cameras seemed easy enough to setup from my Windows 7 PC. Had several issues with the cameras not staying connected, could not get the cameras on the camera list or search list in the Lorex Ping application for the iPhone or iPad. Created a ticket with Lorex support and they closed it telling me I had to call the toll free number since it was a Level 2 issue. I called the number and waited for 20 minutes to get a Level 1 technician who gave me another trouble ticket number and put me on hold for another 30 - 50 minutes for a senior level engineer. I gave up and will search the web for a way to resolve my issues. I like the look of the cameras and the high quality is very good.
We now have a smart phone. We were able to quickly hook it up with our cameras. The picture on the smartphone is excellent. Having a temperature reading on the camera is also a real plus. There are lots of applications for these cameras other than security,and we will recommend them to our friends. If you have a situation where you'd like to keep track of an older person, children, or a pet these would be an easy set up.The cameras can be placed anywhere you have an electrical outlet. Even though they are not outdoor cameras you can point them toward a window and get a good picture during the day. We are very happy with our purchase at this point. The only issue now is reliability, but Lorex does have a good warranty to back their product
I just submitted a review, but forgot to mention 1 thng. The window sticker should come with the camera instead of having to buy them separately.
We bought 2 of these cameras through Costco at a good price, but have only had them a few days. The setup for our wireless wps router could have been very easy, but the directions that came with the camera said to hold down the wps button on the router until the wps light lit up. That never happened. I found a video about set-up on the lorex site which had the person just push the button on the router and release it right away and then within 30 seconds press the wps button on the camera. That worked perfectly. Now that the camera have been set up with the router, if they are unplugged or lose wifi access, they will hunt for the wifi signal and connect automatically when they are plugged back in or find the wifi signal. I then downloaded the L-View software onto my laptop. It was easy to install off the included cd and took no time to get the cameras on it. The cameras have a good picture, the temperature reading is a nice feature to have. As long as the cameras are in a location which picks up a strong signal from your router, the motion shown on the camera is fairly consistent with the actual motion in the room. We also have a Samsung chromebook which we use when we travel. Lorex does not have an app for a chromebook at this point. I set up a ddns account through Lorex for one of the cameras to see if I could access the camera on the chromebook using it. I am able to get into my ddns account with both my laptop and the chromebook, which enables me to be able to change settings on the camera either computer. I am also able to get the camera display on the laptop. So far, however, I am not able to do this on the chromebook since it comes up that I need an ActiveX app to play it. I have tried one, but it still does not work. I have not given up, but it has taken time to get this far. I cannot review the setup with a smart phone, since we do not have one at this point. I also have not tried the laptop at a location outside of our own home.
