Q: How do I make my camera switch to night mode?

A: First, make sure that your IP camera is connected to an NVR. You can use the Camera Setting menu to change image settings for your camera.

To make your camera switch to night mode:

  1. Right-click on the channel you want to change and select Camera Setting . Enter the system password if prompted.
  2. Click the Day&Night drop-down list, choose Black&White .

  3. Click OK to save changes. The camera switches to night mode.

Using profiles for the best recording quality

You can also change camera settings within each profile to easily switch between different condition profiles.

To change the image sensor settings for profiles:

  1. In the Camera Setting menu, click the Configuration drop-down list and choose:
    • Normal - For typical camera conditions and environment,
    • Day - For optimal daytime surveillance,
    • Night - For optimal nighttime surveillance, or
    • Switch By Period - To schedule regular switching between Day and Night profiles.
  2. Click the Day&Night drop-down list and choose:
    • Colorful - To use color mode at all times,
    • Black&White - To use black and white mode at all times, or
    • Schedule - To automatically switch between colorful or black and white mode. (We recommend Schedule mode for optimal 24-hour performance.)

  3. Adjust the saturation, brightness, contrast, and hue as needed.
  4. Click OK to save changes.

Note: You can click Default to reset the camera's image settings.

Setting a day/night schedule

To set a schedule for regular switching between Day and Night mode:

  1. In the Camera Setting menu, click the Configuration drop-down list and choose:
  2. Choose Switch By Period

  3. Choose the Sunrise time and the Sunset time. (The Sunrise time must be earlier than the sunset time.)
  4. Click OK to save changes.
