Security camera cables and ratings

Lorex by FLIR is proud to offer top-of-the-line security systems that do not require professional installations. Each system uses cutting-edge technology that minimizes the amount of cabling needed. Still, achieving a clean installation can sometimes be tricky. Running cables along baseboards or up walls is not always desirable. That is why we provide UL certified coaxial and ethernet cables that are in-wall rated and fire resistant.

UL certified security camera cables

The cables provided with each security camera are certified by UL (Underwriters Laboratories). For over a hundred years, UL has provided safety-related certification and testing for commercial and consumer products.

CMR (Riser) rated cables

The National Electrical Code (NEC) and Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) classify cables into several different categories. The cables included with the security cameras sold on our website meet the NEC & CEC standards for CMR (Riser) cabling.

in-wall cables CRM UL

UL rated in-wall cables can be safely run through and inside walls. This allows you to hide them from view and maximize their distance.

Fire resistant cable CRM certified

Fire Resistant

The cable jacket material prevents the spread of fire. They must pass a vertical burn test to ensure that the flame will not move along the cable.

Between Floors

Riser cables are engineered to safely run between floors that do not circulate environmental air for heating or conditioning systems

Cable markings

UL rated cables from Lorex by FLIR all contain a compliance mark, which identifies the UL certification details. Also printed on each cable is a Valid UL file number. Our cables are certified under FLIR UL file #E470751.

Every FLIR Lorex cable comes with printed lables confirming the UL CRM certificate
