This product worked "ok" for the first 3/4 months. The signal is weak, and goes in and out CONSTANTLY. Several times a night it would wake me up going in and out of range ( we live in a small townhouse). At about 5 months the monitor stopped holding a charge. I called customer service, and after waiting 3.5 hours I finally got a call back. I was told I would get an email from customer service. Got the email from customer service instructing me to print the shipping label and mail back the monitor for a replacement. Doing this would leave me without a monitor for 3-4 weeks. I have now replied to the email three times explaining I do not want to be without the monitor, and asked for another solution with no response. Yesterday I called at noon, and did not get a call back. Called again today, and am still waiting for a call back (has been 2.5 hours). Any issues I have had with Graco products have resulted in a refund so I could purchase a replacement item right away. The customer service with this company is awful.

Our apologies for any difficulty you experienced. We hope your replacement is working well.

I have never been so disappointed with a product and the service I have with Lorax so far. The battery in the monitor is awful. It does not hold a charge for longer than 2 minutes after it is unplugged. I have called about getting this issue fixed and have been dealing with them since January 16th. No one ever returns my calls even though they tell you they will call back in 48-72 hours. I then received a ticket closed number email but never spoke with anyone so I called them back. No one seems to know what I am talking about. So I received a new ticket number - then waited again 48-72 hours for someone to call. Still no call. So I called today and spoke with someone then was placed on hold for 52 minutes. While on hold I called again from another number in my office and a very kind lady did offer to help me.... but yet again I have been told someone will call me in 48-72 hours. So now I wait again. I feel like for the price I paid for this product the customer service has been awful. I would NOT recommend this product or to deal with this company. I have never written a review before for anything I have bought but I am so upset with this that I felt it needed to be out there. I am hoping that I will be able to come back and write that I received a new monitor screen and that someone has called me back!!

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize nobody got back to you sooner. Our sales team would be happy to assist you and can be reached at 1-888-425-6739, option 1.

If it wasn't for the battery, this would get 5 stars. I love all the features of the camera. It is extremely easy to go from one camera to the other and see both kids. The picture and sound are both very clear. I love that I can track my toddler across her room and talk to her. However, the battery begins to die after just a few minutes. I read the reviews before I bought, so I figured it was going to happen. But I had the old version of their monitor and loved that one (but I needed another camera and with the sale at the time it was almost the same price to buy a whole new set), so I decided it was worth the bad battery. I would buy this again, even though it is a pain to carry the plug around.

After about a year of ownership, I had trouble with this unit's battery. However, I spoke with Lorex support and they issued me a replacement unit. I think its even a newer model than I had owned. So far this new unit has been great. I'm very pleased with Lorex's customer service and plan to continue relying on their products in the future.

The size of the screen on the monitor is amazing. We can literally see our baby breathing. Battery life is great and having the option to see two kids rooms at once is perfect. We are very pleased!!

when the monitor is working it's great but after only a few months the battery won't hold a charge. Also the battery swells and expands the back of the monitor. This is my second replacement and it just stopped working again. Two monitors in two years. I need another replacement and sent an email to services dept. the monitor is fine when it's working but doesn't last long.

OK, so let me start by saying I ordered the monitor with 2 cameras but I received 2 packages containing one camera and one monitor in each. So I thought alright, I will use one monitor for backup...well I needed it and now I need a back up for my back up. The battery in both monitors expanded and the back cover came off. I continue using it but it doesn't keep the charge for more than 5 minutes, so I have to walk to each room with the plug to keep it going. I called customer service in June 2015 then again in July 2015 I called back to see the progress of my request to get a new monitor, they said they were working on is now Sept 3 and I still don't have a replacement. What a pain in my butt to carry around the cord plugging it in to every outlet just to keep an eye on my baby. I really really need a replacement, PLEASE.
Other than this ridiculous wait, the monitor is very clear and toggles nicely between both my kids rooms.

Thank you for your feedback. Our apologies for the delay and inconvenience this may have caused. We hope the replacement is working well for you.

We picked this monitor because we would like to view both of our kids in different rooms. We like it. But now I personally think that the higher priced camera might be even better, which allows you to tilt and control the camera to view wider ranged area, especially when your baby is more mobile and be able to move to the area that the camera wouldn't see originally.

We have used it for about 8 months, and recently found that the battery has swelled so big that it pushed the back open. After contacting the Lorex, we were offered a replaced battery on the way. Hope to receive it soon. The current battery doesn't last long either after charge, definitely not 4 hours as advertised. So far we are happy with the customer service for prompt responses.

We just received this model as a replacement because our battery expanded on our other lorex monitor. So far we are happy with this one and are hopeful it lasts a long time. Even though our previous model was under warranty it took several months to get a replacement. I had to call regularly and push to finally talk to the right person. If I hadnt invested as much as I had I probably would have given up. I'm hoping I don't have any more issues.

Our apologies for the delay in this matter. This is not a typical wait time for replacements. We're pleased to hear you are happy with your system now.

I have only just received this monitor but I love it! My baby is 9 months old now and I am kicking myself for not ordering it sooner. I can see my baby crystal clearly and yes I can see her breathing, didn't believe it when other people said it. Easy to use, High Quality, less expensive than the ones you will find at the baby box stores and I feel like it works better. I love the private connection which I feel is a must because with other baby monitors I have heard people can see each others kids, not cool on any level with me and doesn't happen with the Lorex private connection. So far I am 100% satisfied and I have no complaints or improvements to make. Lorex has made me a happy, better rested momma and that is priceless!

My wife and I, are happy with the with the monitor. We got this model because of the two wireless camera's. One for our toddler and one for the new born. Its very nice to check in on both of them. We have had the unit for a couple of months now. The only issue we are having is the battery pack not lasting more then 30 minutes, once you unplug the monitor. When we first got it, we could go a few hours; unplugged with the screen on fulltime. Now we are lucky to get 20 minutes. Lets hope I get my new battery that is covered under warranty. Otherwise we are very pleased with the our Lorex units. :-)

We love our Lorex monitors! The only issue I have had is that the battery life wasn't good and then the battery finally went dead altogether where I couldn't even unplug it. I called customer service and they are replacing the battery pack so I'm happy! Thanks Lorex!

We love our monitor!! It's the 2nd one we've used through lorex and would never buy another brand! Picture quality and sound are top notch! Allows us to rest easy being able to check in on our little ones whenever. Very easy to work. And shipping was very fast! Was here in 2 weeks!!

I reviewed this product right after I got it and I absolutely LOVED it. However, now, less than a year after getting it, I am not having an issue with the device staying powered on. The second it gets unplugged, it starts blinking at me telling me the battery is going to die. Sure enough, within minutes, the battery will die. I have submitted a ticket as it's still under warranty and NOBODY has responded to me. Lorex, your customer service is CRAP. I am highly disappointed in this entire ordeal.

We love our monitor!! It has a crystal clear image day or night and I love the temperature monitoring as well. I didn't know I'd use the two way audio at all but it's been a life saver in a two story house with a toddler I need to keep in his bed! Only reason it's getting 4 stars is the battery life, wish it had more! Otherwise wonderful product!

Very nice monitor, love it, I have 2 kids, so this one works like a charm, just worry about the battery as it does not looks like last long enough without charging. Anyway, a good choice for 2 or more kids.

We have used Lorex babies monitors for the last 3 years and have been so happy. I love this monitor because you can use up to four cameras. It is simple to navigate and offers a lot of features. I was also drawn to the price because it offered me the same features other brands did but without the huge price tag.

While shopping for home security I came across this baby monitor and I'm glad I did!! A great price, a lot less expensive than any baby monitor I could find at toys r us or any other baby superstore. Lots of cool features, I love the two way talk so I can tell 2 year old to get back in bed rather than have to walk across the house. I did have a camera go bad but customer service was very helpful and shipped me out another camera. I will be buying more lorex products in the future, very pleased overall.

Works well and I like having several cameras attached to one parent end. We just purchased a 3rd camera to add on. My only complaint is that there is not a mode in which you can get audio for all cameras at the same time. To get audio, it has to cycle through. This is sometimes bothersome at night when we hear a child upset but only for a 5 seconds here and there.

I purchased this camera because I was wanting a viewing screen that was small, compact and portable. This camera does all of that plus more! The video stream is very clear and the night time viewing is also very good. I love all of the "extras" it comes with; split screen viewing, temperature read out, light, lullabys and the ability to communicate with your child. The battery life of the screen is also good. I would highly reccomend this product.

This has been awesome! Came in the mail quickly, easy set up. We have a two-story house with our bedroom and kids room on opposite floors and sides of the house and haven't had any probs. love being able to tell my two year old to grit back in bed without going up stairs. Like split screen, just wish we could have sound when it was up. Wish I would have bought this with our first kid, but def a must for two kids plus households. Highly recommend this product.

I got my monitor late last week. So far this is what I think... Shipping took 9 days, which was longer than expected. The video is pretty clear but I see more black and white with a purple hue instead of full color, which is kind of disappointing. Also, when using the zoom, the picture is kind of fuzzy and not very clear. And I wish there was a split view feature instead of the quad view since I only have 2 cameras. But overall, I am happy with my purchase. I like the two way audio and also the temperature features. As for customer service, I am very unsatisfied. I called several times and also requested a call back and no one ever called me back. So I had to call again..and I was on hold for an hour!

We just received the monitor with 2 cameras last week and have been really happy with it so far. We're preparing for baby #2, so I really like the "power save" setting where if one of the kids cries, the monitor pops on to that room. We spent twice as much on our old monitor and were not nearly as happy with it!

I just received this monitor. Ordered it on Sunday and received it tuesday! Talk about fast delivery! So far everything is working properly and setup was a breeze. It has more features than my previous monitor that was more expensive. I needed to have another camera added, but my other monitor wasn't compatible with 2 cameras. This one can have up to four so I'm glad I can add more if needed. Also like the option of buying a pan/tilt camera that is compatible with this monitor. So far I am satisfied with not only this product but the price, too!

After using multiple different baby monitors this has the most features by far.
We have only had a few days but are very impressed.
The night vision is excellent. The only con we have found is the
Difficulty in the dark adjusting the volume due to the small bottoms
That are located on the side. We wish we had purchased the lorex prior to others.

Clearly the best price for the most features.

Very happy with monitor!!!
With the birth of our second child coming, I wanted to find a monitor that would allow for just one parent console to be carried. Came across the Lorex website, and am SO glad I did!!
Now with our monitor set up and two children at home, we are very happy with the monitor. The picture quality is great, and sound is nice and clear. Monitor has more features than we need, but great to have. Scan feature is really nice as it changes every 3 seconds with sound from one camera to the other. The ability to add up to four cameras is very nice. Talk back feature is good for my toddler.
Battery life is not overly long with display on, but when display turned off and just sound, the battery life is greatly extended.
One negative comment is that there is no clip on the parent console. This makes it difficult to carry something with two hands. If I put the monitor in my pocket, I loose signal. I added a two sided tap plastic clip to the battery compartment on the back, so I can clip it to the outside of my pocket, or the top of my pants. Seems to be working well.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. Shipping was rather quick and price was very reasonable. Makes my life much easier. Thanks Lorex.

This system has everything was looking for. I needed 2 cameras but only one monitor and I didn't have to pay extra for the second camera. I also love the temperature monitoring feature. Our heat went out twice last year and my husband and I didn't know it until we woke up, at the time we had a basic video monitor. I am so happy to know i'll be alerted if the temp in my kids rooms gets too low.

Overall this monitor has been great! The price was really great compared to other models on the market and the picture quality is really impressive. My old monitor was a pain because it constantly had interference and we had to move it all the time but we have not had any problems with this digital one. Occasionally it will say "lost signal" but it literally comes back on in less than 2 seconds so its a not problem for us. My only complaint is that although you can look at multiple cameras at one time, you can't hear multiple cameras at the same time. I don't honestly know if you can hear multiple cameras with any other products, it may be an impossible feature, but I really wish I could at night so I could hear both rooms if one of the kids cry out. Other than that, I don't have any complaints with the product. Customer service on the other hand, is impossible to reach by waiting on hold. I had a question and I waited on hold for 2 hours and still no one answered. They do have an option of leaving a message for a call back and I did that when I called the next day, and within 20 minutes someone called me back. So clearly, don't wait on hold! Just leave a message. This is a great product and I have already recommended it to multiple people.

I have two kids and I purchased the two cameras and monitor so I put one in one room and the other in another room.I was unsure at first about the product but when I hooked the two ca.meras up I was surprised. We have had this for about a week now. So far we LOVE it! We have a two story house and it does pretty well with the distance between floors, although it does occasionally go out for a second or two. It always comes back on though. The sound is perfect, we never have any issues hearing when our little girl grunts or makes any little baby noises at all whatsoever. The picture is clear and precise, I can see when her eyes are opened or closed. I would definitely recommend this product to friends, and in fact, already have! I am giving it 4 stars simply because I wish the range was a tad better than it is, but that's not been a huge issue for us so I don't mind.

The shipping was very fast and so far the produce is working really well. I was looking for a well-priced 2 camera monitor that had temperature monitoring and this one fits the bill! Also, the two bedrooms I am monitoring are on the second floor of our house and this monitor works well in the backyard and in the basement. Only improvement I can suggest is that when there are only 2 cameras being used, the split screen is split into 2 rather than 4 with 2 blank spots.

Great product!! I heard some complaints about the sound level, but I found it to be totally adequate.

The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is the temperature alarm. It seems to be registering a little high (1 or 2 degrees F), but it seems like it only measures in 2 degree increments, so it fluctuates a little too much than I would like. That said, it still works fantastic in our two story house in all rooms so far.

Haven't had time to try the dual camera mode out, but so far the daytime, nighttime and audio work fantastic and a great price!

We really loved this monitor, until it broke after 3 months. We purchased this monitor because we are expecting our third child and wanted a monitor that was compatible with at least three cameras. We had been using it with our oldest two until it broke.

We really loved the picture quality. It was very clear. We also loved that the monitor volume was tolerable. Some monitors we have had in the past were too loud at the lowest setting. This one has a nice volume range. The option to have a charging stand as well as stand alone was a plus for movement between rooms.

We would definitely have rated this much higher had it not stopped working. The monitor gave an out of range error and would not resync with any of the cameras. However, since it was still under warranty, Lorex is replacing it. We are currently awaiting it's arrival.

We really like the monitor itself. The picture and sound are clear and the reception is good. The cameras were easy to pair and hang on the wall. The only issue we have had is the battery went from lasting hours on a charge to just a few minutes and it is only a month old. However, Lorex is sending us a new battery under the warranty and we expect that everything will be fine again.

BUYER BEWARE ! I ordered the lw243 listed above, only to be sent the lb311 without any notification of the change. I spoke to at least 6 customer service reps after lengthy wait times on the phone, to try to rectify the problem. This system (lw243) was recommended by a LOREX rep to connect to my existing lw2401 system. I was then told the lb311 they sent me does not connect to the lb311. I then asked for all my trouble to be sent a 3rd camera for the lb311 which they were not willing to do. I have ordered 3 lorex systems for my grandchildren, but due to the lack of quality and competent customer service, this will be my last. I recommend babys r us for baby monitoring systems, they have some quality systems in stock on the shelf !

I was pleasantly surprised at the clarity and sharpness of the picture on the monitor. It would be nice if the batteries would last longer so we could mount it on the wall without wires hanging down. I like the wide span of the cameras so we are able to view the entire children's room including both the toddler bed and the crib for the baby. This is an entirely affordable product and a great value for such a high quality item.

Reading the reviews, there is no way all these reviews can be on the model LW243 as stated/ I believe to be completely honest the model number should be included with the review so we would know which one we want to order. Please this should be a serious change that you should change for I do not believe the LW243 has the recorded songs in it. Some say it has three some say it has 5.
First let me say that I very rarely write any reviews. I'm always the sceptic. This Lorex camera is hands down the best camera on the market. It is my 4th monitor in 3 years. This has every feature you could want and more. I am a very light sleeper so I had problems with other cameras being too sensitive or not turning the volume down low enough. Some of the features I love are the adjustable sensitivity, built in night light, built in pre recorded lullabies, two way communication, automatic record upon movement, the temp gauge, etc. The battery works very well - I leave the base upstairs and charge it at night. During the day I just carry the handheld unit downstairs while the kids nap. Signal strength is awesome too! My last 2 monitors got terrible reception, but this one doesn't interfere with all my husbands "gadgets". Save yourself some headache and get this one!

Just received this product on Friday and am already in love with it. The picture is clear, the camera was easy to mount and the monitor is simple to use. It was super to pair the camera to the monitor so I have one in the living room and one in my munchkins bedroom. So far it is great!

This is a great monitor.

Purchased it so that I could see my twins at all times. Love the fact that it will grow with us with additional cameras. It was a breeze to set-up & has been very easy to use. Would highly recommend this video monitor.

This is a great monitor. I've have three other monitors before, including a very expensive 'egg-shaped' one that I returned in order to purchase this Lorex monitor. This monitor was less than half the price of the other monitor and it does just as much in an uncomplicated package. One of the best things about it is that it includes three cameras and each of them are able to be angled down in a way that it is easy to monitor the baby when the camera is placed over the crib. The only negative I can think of is that the battery charge indicator only shows up when it's close to dying. Otherwise, highly recommended.

We've been using this monitor for a couple of days now and really like it. We bought it to use for my toddler and the baby on the way. With my older daughter we only used an audio monitor but now that she'll be moving to a bed it'll be nice to see what she's up to. Also, I really like that I can monitor both kiddos with a single parent unit and that it will scan back and forth between the two throughout the night. Some video monitors will only listen to one or the other. The video quality is good - no pan or zoom but I don't mind that. I don't need to see every little detail, just whether she's sleeping or not. The audio isn't as sensitive as other monitors but I find that you don't need to hear every little movement made. The auto mute feature is nice as we keep a sound machine running in my daughters room and it will block that out. All in all we're really happy with the purchase.

The LW241 system with three cameras is very economical, easy to set up, and permits a surprisingly clear view of several rooms on its 3.5 inch monitor. The ability to record to a micro SD chip is a nice feature that I hope to put in use soon. Based on my experience of a week, I recommend it.

Great update, much more solid and a better charging option than previous models (no more mini USB thankfully). Has good viewing options and quad split screen, I wish the blue scan light would go out after a fixed time and not stay on all night, it is bright, but other than that this is a very good update.

What a great monitor , I have 3 babies and I love how it will scans to each baby while they are sleeping so I can check on them and if they make a noise or wake up the monitor lets me know. Very convenient for us.... I can even talk to then if there's a problem without walking 3 floors down to their rooms, that's my favorite ...I can't get the Skype to work yet but it defiantly is me, as soon as I figure that out this monitor will really be my whole world.....

Love the multiscreen viewing where I can see more than one room at the same time. Love the Skype integration, though it took me a while to set up. The design is sleek and modern, and I can use my phone if I did not want to carry the device aroubd. I do wish the cord of the AC adapter was longer. I also wish there was a camera without the red infrared. I find kids very curious looking at the camera because of the red light and tries to fumble with it. Overall, I love this camera and will recommend to everyone.

We bought a two camera set up a few moths ago and it is a great product. Our oldest daughter suffered an anoxic brain injury in her mid-twenties and my wife and I are now her primary care givers. We have used typical baby audio monitors to alert us if our daughter might have an issue in the middle of the night. However they have proved to be unreliable. The Lorex is so much better. Good consistent audio and the video and two-way talk features make it wonderful.

So far, this has been fantastic. Great night vision mode (we keep the baby's room dark, even for naps). Love the temperature monitoring and the fact that you can use the talk back feature. Nice that this is expandable with the option of buying more cameras. Love that it includes two cameras, so that we can have one in each room. Overall, we are pleased with this product. We have not tried to Skype feature yet, so can't comment on that.

first off not bad. got this for the cat room. to monitor and see what is going on with the aging kitties.

the pro's:
relatively quiet compared to the previous version (live snap )
monitor switches between each camera seamlessly, approx every 4 min.
relatively easier to see compared to the live snap version that I had before.
width or angle of vision is a little bit better
You can adjust the music and sound level from both the monitor and the camera.

If you need to view from one camera only, you can set it to monitor just the one, although I'd be leary of doing that too often or for long periods, for fear of burning out or burning in the screen image.

setting the temp hi and low limits is kinda cool, but in my opinion USELESS. and yes you would need to be concerned with temperature for cats too! but why have it on display all the time. why not just an alert that it is either too hot or too cold! and then have it display on the screen at that point.

the cons:
monitor could be larger. I don't see why that could not be done. but now that I've mentioned it, they will come out with a larger monitor which will entice me to spend more money blah blah etc. Although maybe they would come out with an upgraded monitor and you would not have to buy the whole kit, just a new monitor!

display for date/time/temp WOULD BE NICE TO ELIMINATE THAT ALL TOGETHER as in THE OPTION to display OR not! because it actual detracts from the visual and is annoying. wouldn't be bad if the monitor was larger as in maybe a 7 inch.

the lullaby sounds are great ?? guess if you have a baby. BUT wouldn't you want it for the baby to hear and not you..........??? just my thoughts. Because I would want to HEAR THE BABY not THE MUSIC! The baby should hear the music NOT THE PARENTS.

But see I only got this for the cats. SO really I don't want the music at all.......

Unit is wall mountable great! but be aware three screws are different and are for the camera mount only. something the instruction does not state. ALSO, the template for mounting on the wall IS INCORRECT. I repeat INCORRECT! Do not use the template.

over all I would give this a four and half star but you can't do halves, so it's a four star.
recommend this, yes I do...

Haven't had a chance to really use it yet as baby is not here yet, but just playing with it this seems like an awesome monitor. The picture quality is great. I love the temperature control. The option to add more cameras is awesome and there is one that has remote zoom and control to move it. I may upgrade to that camera. The talk feature is awesome so I can talk to her as she gets older. So far so good.

Pros: the sensor is great - it only kicks on when something is actually happening. The picture quality is great and we can easily see the whats going on in multiple rooms. Cons: the battery does not maintain it's charge. After a couple hours I can glance at the monitor and it has turned itself off. I wish there was some auditory warning letting me know it needs to be charged. Even with the battery issue I would recommend this monitor.

What a genius video monitor this is! Let's make this simple: Pros: Temperature and temperature alert system (now that's cool) Talk back to the baby without having to get up and go into the room ("go back to sleep" or "momma is coming" Lullaby music for distraction Unfortunately there are a couple cons. I wish the sound was louder. I have another video monitor from a different company and that monitor volume is way louder than this one. And the reason this is important to me is the fact that I am hard of hearing. And when I take out my hearing aids at night, I literally put the monitor next to my head on the pillow so I can hear the baby. The other con but not a big deal to me is the color is not clear. It is more black and white. And I wish the monitors range can expand a bit more. Otherwise, great product! I am thankful. I would rate this 3.8 out of 5. :)

When my baby monitor arrived, it worked great out of the box. When we got ready to go to bed that night, the handheld said "out of range." So we switched the power cords and everything was okay again. Until the morning when we saw that the handheld was now dead and wouldn't turn on. So my husband and I figured out we have a faulty power cord. Three calls to customer service and days of waiting on return phone calls later, we still do not have a working power cord. Twice I got through to "Level 2 customer support". The first time I received a call back a day later. I'm still waiting on the return call back from the second call through. If the product worked, I would be happy to write a better review, but unfortunately we aren't even getting one night's use out of it. We are returning the product tomorrow. Good luck!

Loved this monitor when I first received I had previously owned model CJ-LW2002W and loved that one as well. However, I have only had this monitor less than a year and am already having a few issues with the product i.e. shutting off without warning, screen become scrambled and low audio. I am currently working with tech support to see if these issues can be resolved. Hoping so as I love this monitor and all the features that it offers.

This isn't the original baby monitor my husband and I registered for, but my mother in law saw the one we wanted and found this one with the same features but better reviews. My husband got this all set up and has enjoyed playing with all the features before our baby is even born. I especially like the clarity of the picture when the light is off in the room. Last night, we even watched the nursery from the garage. We even set it up so that we can Skype into my son's room and watch him when one of us isn't home. Great product!

This camera system is great, even for someone who is not so technical. The setup is so simple. I love that the sound is muted until it detects noise, so you dont constantly hear background noise. The picture is much clearer than most baby monitors and it has every feature you can imagine. I did have a problem with the screen, but Lorex is replacing it under warranty.

Great product, the picture is very clear. The set up was very easy except for the Skype feature (wrong product? Couldn't see the camera we have on this list). I couldn't get my PC to recognize the camera, which was the whole point of buying this product. I have to phone the help line so this may be resolved. The help line is only open during regular business hours, which isn't convenient for those of us that also work. However, I love the monitor and being able to see my baby to know if he's just crying for a second and will fall back asleep or if he looks like he's up for good.

A great buy!!! My wife was very impressed with this unit. I like the pan/tilt feature and temp sensor. Peace of mind when it comes to keeping an eye on my kids. Only complaint is the screen on the monitor is not the true color, but night vision works really well. Battery drains fast from the camera. But over-all a good product.

Good Overall Baby Monitor

The overall features of this Baby Monitor are great. The color picture in light is good and the IR night vision work well. Sound is a little delayed, but the quality is good. The alert for sound works, however it can be difficult to get the sensitivity set correctly. It hears the sounds of doors shutting and noise throughout the rest of our home and alerts the monitor. The wireless distance is sufficient and works approximately 100' through the block exterior walls of our home. My only real complaint with this system is the battery life. Once the monitor is unplugged from the outlet, it will last for approximately 1.5 hours. Overall, for the price and the quality, I would recommend this product.

Love my monitor

We are very happy with our purchase. We have now been using our monitor since Nov 2012. The original monitor we received did not have good battery life and would die in 1 hour. But Lorex customer service was excellent and quickly shipped out a replacement that has worked excellent. I love that you can view up to 4 cameras at once if you want. As a mom of two my favorite feature is the scan mode wich allows me to monitor both children at once. The monitor scans every camera every couple of seconds and will activate the camera it detects sound in. This was the main feature I was looking for and which many other monitors lack. Would recommend to anyone looking to monitor more then once child or for home security.

Great Video Monitor

We've had this monitor for 8 months and it's great!

80 out of 118

I recently had my 3rd child, and it's ironic that now is finally the time that I broke down and bought a video monitor. All I can say is I don't know how we survived without one.

I first purchased a Summer Infant brand duel monitor, but I didn't like the picture quality and the fact that you couldn't talk back to the child. That was one of the key perks I was looking for as we have too many stairs to climb. I can just talk to my children without getting up!

Another great feature is that it scans from camera to camera, so I don't have to manually flip back and forth. It does that for you, allowing you to turn off the video to save battery life, yet still listening in on noise in each room. I've got the stationary camera in the infants room (since he is confined to the crib) and the tilt/pan camera in my older toddlers' room. Now I never have to wonder what they're doing, and scold them immediately when they get up from bed. ;)

The Skype feature is neat, but I'm still figuring that one out. I love that I can purchase 2 more cameras in the future and still use the one parent monitor to view all 4 screens at one time. I would not hesitate buying this product again. Very happy with it!!

Ok, straight to the point.

I use this to monitor my 2 year old while he is in his playroom. And in a few months, we will use it to monitor his new born brother.

1. The day video is superb. Some people complain that the color isn't vibrant. Although it is true that colors in the day do not show up well, this isn't an issue for me because I use this as a baby monitor, not survalliance. I don't need to distinguish colors.

2. Night vision is fantastic. This was the most important feature for me because I am anticipating using this to watch our infant sleeping and I am comforted to know that at night I will see him as clear as a bell.

3. Others have complained about the sound. I have no issues with the sound quality. I read nearly all the reviews for this product before I bought it. And if you read on, you find that the sensitivity setting on the camera works opposite than assumed...with the higher sensitivity creating lesser sound and vice versa. So I just set it accordingly, and no problems.

4. The talk back mode is great and I use it to answer my son while he is in his room. The volume for that function is on the camera. I had it set too high too begin with, so it frightened him. But after adjusted, it isn't my voice of "GOD" booming at him anymore and he than recognized me.

5. The music feature works. I don't use it.

6. The monitor is very easy to use. You don't even have to read the manual to work it. The picture is clear. We have three cameras hooked up to it and I love that I can view three in quad mode or each individually. I also like that I can recieve sound for all in quad mode. The monitor is light weight and small enough to carry around.

7. The temperature gage is wonderful. We live in an older home. Ours sons playroom has a western facing exterior wall and can get quite cool in there. It is nice to be able to confirm the temp. It seems accurate. I haven't brought in another temp gage, but when the temp indicates comfortable tempratures, it feels comfortable in the there.

8. It is still winter here, so I can't attest to the range of this unit yet. I will update when we get back to outdoor living. We are on a farm so we are outside a lot. I hope it lives up to my expectations on that.

9. It doesn't interfere with our wifi AT ALL that I can tell, which is a plus being we have satellite Internet to begin with and that can be slow sometimes. It was nice that it didn't interfere.

We have an 8 month old, and have tried a few monitors to look after him. I was somewhat used to audio only monitors, but once seeing video, this is simply outstanding. The picture quality if very good, you can absolutely see what he is up to, and if he is okay. The camera can be moved around, so if he moves in the crib, you can follow him. I have not tried the skype feature, but that could be useful in sharing his exploits with grandparents etc.

The construction quality is good, everything seems solid and well built. AS of this writing we have experienced no issues. This is a good choice, especially if you have need for two cameras, say one for bed at night and one for a day time nap location.

This monitor is great to keep your eyes in your baby and follow all of his/her actions, especially when he/she is sleeping. I like the two-way talking and the possibility to connect four cameras, including a tilt camera model. The setup and installation are very easy and you can see the image through the Skype.

What's great about it: Easy set up, view multiple cameras at one time, provides temperature of room, records video

What's not so great: The sound is incredibly low even at the max. Basically when there is a sound in the room it alerts you by making a beep

This camera is very easy to set up and to add additional cameras. The camera can also run on batteries so you can move it to where ever the baby is or where older kids might be playing which is a nice feature.

only down side is that the sound is incredibly low even at the max. Basically when there is a sound in the room it alerts you by making a beep

Love it!

Pros: records video, good coverage

Cons: low audio sensitivity of camera

I wanted to have a baby monitor BUT at the same time some way of recording. I started with a WIFI camera which was a concern due to lack of a portable display to use a baby monitor. This one gets the job done and also record well. Being controllable I can put the baby in cot or in the gym and move the camera later when I reach living room. The night vision is better than the normal Lorex baby monitor (I think because this has a bigger lens maybe).

The swivel angle is incredible (270deg or 3/4 of full turn). The up/down is a bit limiting as I wanted it to be high so I can see inside the crib but then I could not cover all the floor area in the bedroom. Ended up putting it 4ft from ground and now I have good coverage.

I have it on auto recording (record when there is noise) and got some good footage BUT keep in mind its VERY VERY low resolution (like a home video from the 70s. No, not 80s). But I like the flexibility and the ability to have something when before I had nothing.

I also had a good finding. I had the Lorex (877350) and then I got this. For 2 days I had both. When I tested this one the volume was WAY TOO LOW. I mean almost it was as if it was not working. I assumed it was the camera. But just decided to check the other monitor and what do you know, the volume issue went away. So the issue is not the camera but the monitor. I have to add that the sensitivity of the audio is lower then a dedicated audio baby monitor even after changing etc

Hope this helps

A Must Have!

After reading countless product reviews, purchasing and returning 4 other systems, we started to think that what we wanted did not exist and then we tried the Lorex LW 2401 The Baby Video Monitor is just perfect. It has so many features that other systems on the market do not have. Pros - Expandable. Supports up to 4 came - VOX aka Voice Activation. Lorex calls this feature Scan. The video AND sound go into a power saving mode, the cameras scan the rooms for noises and if there is a noise detected, the video and audio is activated - Mute! This is a huge plus for me. I am such a light sleeper that on other systems the lowest setting is still too loud for me - Noise Indicator light, on the left side. This is key for when the unit is on mute - Low battery indicator flashes on the screen! Not an annoying beep - Monitor has a stand, this model has a stand AND a docking station for charging, an extra bonus Highly recommended!

A Must Have!

My husband and I have been on an aggressive search for the perfect Baby Video Monitor that suits the needs of our growing family. After reading countless product reviews, purchasing and returning 4 other systems, we started to think that what we wanted did not exist - and then we tried the Lorex LW 2401 Live Video Monitor System - it seems to have everything we want!

* Expandable - Supports up to 4 cameras

* VOX (Voice Activation) - Lorex calls this feature "Scan". The video AND sound go into a power saving mode, the cameras scan

the rooms for noises and if there is a noise detected, the video and audio is activated. This is a huge feature for my family

and was the reason why we returned all of the other systems we tried. In all other systems we tried the VOX feature could only

work on one camera / baby at a time. Which was just silly to us - we wanted to hear either baby if one of them made a noise,

not just one!

* Mute! This is a huge plus for me. I am such a light sleeper that on other systems the lowest setting is still too loud for me

* Noise Indicator light (on the left side) - key for when the unit is on mute

* Low battery indicator flashes on the screen! It’s not an annoying beep

* Monitor has a stand (this model has a stand AND a docking station for charging - an extra bonus)

* Multiple options for viewing your little ones:

-Single camera, sequence (rotates between cameras every 6 seconds), Quad mode (views all cameras at the same time)

-Video and sound on at all times

-Video screen off, but sound on

-Video screen on and sounds off (Auto mute)

* Auto Mute - after a period with no noise, auto mute is activated to eliminate white noise

* Sleek design

* Large screen (3.5")

* Volume buttons are on the front of the monitor unit (not in a menu)

* Two way talk feature

* Temperature gauge

* Date and time on screen

* "Video" button turns on / off once pressed, but doesn't seem to work in Scan mode. Not sure why that would be

* Doesn't tilt, pan, zoom like some other units in the price range but not a deal breaker for me because it has so much of

everything else we need

Features I have not tried and probably won't use:

* Capture, store & share with micro SD recording

* Remotely view from anywhere through Skype

* Alerts

* Alarms

Very happy

Pros: great features

Cons: battery life is a little short recharge daily

We are very happy with the unit. Video and sound quality is great with our unit. We have it really close to our baby. Perhaps distance is an issue as it looks like the mic is pretty tiny. We have already recorded some very precious videos that we couldn't have gotten any other way.

The search is over

We went from a regular monitor to a video monitor and I was psyched but it was a second hand video monitor that was sketchy and older so we decided to get a new one. After a week of reasurching we finally found this one. Normally I wouldn't have looked twice considering the price but we actually got it from amazon for 179.00 and paid 3.99 ship to have it the very next day and ere were tons of reviews on there. This monitor works great. U can play music in the room by pushing a button on the part the parent holds it comes with easy instructions, a DVD and wall mountings. There is volume control, u can skype to see it on ur laptop or iPad and u can even hold a button n talk into it like n intercom, and it comes with a memory card to record well at least the one from amazon did. Hope this helps!

A GREAT Monitor!

I bought this a few months after it came out on the market and I am VERY pleased with it. I wish the camera could pan...that is the only major drawback to me. One feature that I absolutely LOVE about this monitor is that I can turn the "scan" feature on and during the night the monitor will be on but will be completely black and silent so it doesn't bother us while we sleep. Then, if my son cries or makes a loud noise in the room, the monitor will pop on and the sound will come on and then go off again. GREAT feature!! The main reason we chose this monitor over others is that we are adding baby number 2 to the family in June and we wanted a monitor that would allow us to watch both babies at the same time. Lorex is the only monitor on the market that has the sequence "quad" mode that allows you to view up to four cameras on the screen at once! Or you can choose to have it automatically scan through the cameras one at a time. We love this monitor!

Keep Looking

While the box and the advertising all show pretty color pictures on the monitor, the resolution is not that great, and my picture looked almost black and white the entire time even in a well lit room. The Skype feature isn't worth much considering the unit must be attached to a computer that's turned on in order to view the video remotely. Not very practical if the purpose is for the monitor to be portable around your house. I'll try something/someone else. Not what I expected for this price.

Great Video Monitor

Pros: easy to set up, great video even in the dark, good reception

Cons: sound not great

"We purchased this to keep an eye on our toddler who now sleeps in a bed. Couldn't be happier with the video monitor. The picture, even the dark, is great and the reception in our two story house is quite good (except for when my husband gets too close, the metal rods in his leg interfere with it).

Worked right out of the box. It's unfortunate that it won't work with Skype with my mac but I knew that before I bought it so that wasn't a surprise.

The audio isn't great. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the sound only really comes on when there is loud sound. Since we already have a sound monitor we just use it instead.

Own 2, love 1. We bought the first of these monitors at a Costco warehouse and we love it! Works great, no issues, very pleased. Unfortunately we've purchased a second one for another house on and the volume is not working properly. Even with the automute feature off it seems to be "auto fading" for lack of a better word. Similar to another review I can't hear the baby unless she actually cries out as apposed to cooing or talking.

Having issues

From the great reviews I decided to purchase this product. It started out fine but now we are noticing that it does not notify us of the "battery requires Charging" alert. We only had it for 2 weeks. Also the reception after 3 levels are not so good. From the top floor to the basement, we can barely hear our child. Maybe we got a single lemon. We will return it and see if we have issues again. I'll keep you posted. Other than that, everything else seems to be up to standard.

Sound isn't the greatest

Aside from the one comment I read regarding the lack of sound on this unit, I decided to buy it hoping they were wrong. Well, the commenter was right. One of the most important functions does in fact seem to be lacking... that being sound.

Even with the sensitivity on the camera set on high and the volume on the monitor turned all the way up, I can only hear my baby when he actually cries...but I can also hear it in audio through my house. Unfortunately I can't hear him talking to himself or making noises as he looks for his pacifier which I did hear on the old no video safety 1st monitor we had prior to this purchase. With the safety 1st unit I could hear him let out a deep breath and him moving around but sadly not with this one.

The movement alert compensates ever so slightly for the lack of sound but I still wish I could hear more without having to wait for him to cry. The only good thing about this is that I wont be awakened by his every sound . Besides this issue, the unit is pretty good for the money spent when compared to other expensive units.

-no interference with wireless devices

-Clear picture, both day and night (wish the camera didn’t have infrared red lights at night as I find my baby stares at it but you can live with this)

-So far, the charge holds well

-Easy set up straight out of the box

If you can live with the fact that sound isn't heard as some other monitors offer, than overall this is a good buy. Since I like this

many functions this unit offers, I'm still in limbo whether I'll be returning the unit in hopes of finding something a little more sensitive to sound or keep this unit and live through the sound issue. I might give it a few more nights before I make a decision.

Great Baby Monitor

Pros: easy to use, able to record video, able to talk / play preset tune on camera

Cons: additional cameras are expensive

We are very satisfied with this purchase. The picture and sound quality is pretty clear and like the night vision capability as well as being able to talk to the monitor, or send a pre-programmed tune to help distract the baby when it is stirring. The only other nice to have for this camera would be a zoom option

Good product - expensive to upgrade to 2 Cameras

Pros: easy to use, good features

Cons: upgrade to second camera is expensive, video quality not as advertised

Very good product and well supported. Has almost all the features you could want. The video quality on the unit isn't even close to the advertisements that make it look like a full-colour HD TV - the quality more closely resembles a closed-circuit TV monitor. THe camera is small and lightwieght and can be attached to the wall using 3M double sided tape rather than screws, which makes for easy moving. Upgrading to the second camera will cost as much as the full system.

Excellent Baby Monitor

Pros: excellent clarity, close up view of your baby

Cons: difficult to find extra cameras to add on

I had previously bought another brand that was reviewed as great and it was until last month when it stopped working properly. This monitor was the same price and reviewed very well. I am here to say that it is all true! This monitor is fantastic. The fact that you can use your other electronic devices to see your baby is great! It has all the perks of talking to your baby, playing music and the night vision clarity is exceptional.

Our baby is 5 months old and I feel confident leaving him in his room alone with the monitor on.

Glad we got this one

Pros: price, clear audio and video, talk back (clear connection), no interference, easy to use

Cons: difficulties finding additional camera in Canada

We received another brand video monitor as a gift, but had to return it due to a lot of interference in the camera's speaker (even when we weren't speaking through it). We were worried that all the systems out there would have the same issue, and were thinking we might not be able to have a video monitor, or at least not one with the talkback feature.

We found this one on the site, and for the price it was the best featured system we'd seen. Couple that with the great return policy with Costco, we decided to take another chance.

We are so glad we did - we've been trying it out in our toddlers room, and are looking to purchase another camera for our nursery (the original reason we wanted the system in the first place!), This is the only thing we can say is lacking, as we are having difficulties finding the camera in Canada - buying from the manufacturer site ends up being more than an entire new system from Costco!

Excellent Product!

We bought this product to monitor our 21 month old as he becomes more active in his crib. It's wonderful! The picture is great, we can see what he is doing in the dark, and can hear him clearly. Now we don't need to worry if he is trying to climb out of his crib, we can see if he is!

I am also excited to try a second camera for our newborn who will be here any day.

I would definitely recommend this product.

Poor sound quality

We purchased this camera because of the price. The picture quality was very good. The sound however was not, even after adjusting the sensitivity the sound was still too low. We returned the camera and are now looking for a replacement.

Great buy!

This monitor is great it is so clear and it's actually affordable. Buying from Costco is easy cause you can return it so easily so you doesn't have to worry if you don't like it. But you won't have to cause this thing is so great. It automatically switches over to night vision when you turn the lights off! Totally great product !

Great Monitor, but not without flaws

What's great about it: great feature set and good value

What's not so great: incompatible with Mac for remote viewing

I've had this monitor for a couple weeks now. Overall it’s pretty impressive but it does have some weaknesses. I did some research before buying and compared this model in great detail to similar models from Motorola, Samsung, and Summer Infant. At $180, it was a great value. As I'm writing this however, the price has jumped to $299. Not worth it at that price. The video is decent quality and the frame rate is fast so it doesn't appear choppy like cheaper monitors. Battery life is good. The monitor and charging cradle are good quality and buttons and menus are intuitive and easy to navigate. Set up and installation were very quick and easy. The camera can also work wirelessly with 4 AA batteries but I have yet to find a need for that feature. Range is excellent. I walked around my entire block with the monitor and only lost signal when there were physical obstructions in the way(like other houses). The monitor has a signal strength indicator just like a cell phone as well as an out range warning unlike other models. The features it lacks compared to others are pan, tilt, and zoom, as well as the ability to view the feed from your TV. I don't have picture in picture on my TV, and I didn't want to pay $50-$70 more just to move the camera around remotely. In retrospect, I miss having at least a digital zoom as it can be tricky to find the right location for the camera to get the view you want. The features I liked were the temperature display and temp alarm, built-in lullabies, auto and manual recording to an included SD card, and auto muting so that you don't have to listen to white-noise. The deciding factor for me was the ability to remote view the video feed using Skype. Initially I wanted grandparents to use Skype to see the baby, but I also wanted to use it as a nanny cam down the road. Unfortunately, this feature is not compatible with Macs. Lorex just released a driver(Nov '11) for Macs to address the issue, but I'm sad to report that it does not work. Another let down is the 2-way audio between monitor and camera. The talk button is right next to the microphone on the monitor, so its easy to cover it up with your thumb and render it useless. It also doesn't pick up your voice well unless your mouth is right up against the mic or the volume is all the way up on the camera. If you turn the volume all the way up though, the built in lullabies will BLAST through the speaker and wake your child. It's too bad there is no volume or sensitivity control on the monitor. You have to adjust it on the camera. It might take you a little while to find the right sensitivity level as well. Lastly, the camera is quick to switch to infrared(black and white) even in low light that you could see just fine if you were in the room. Overall I'm happy with it and would buy it again because my complaints are minor and I think that other products would have minor issues of their own at a higher cost.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Keeps You Up to Speed

I was delighted to get this item via Amazon Vine. You will need a SKYPE account to use it. Once you have this system in place, you can track and monitor all activity in your home from wherever you are by using your iPhone or your laptop. This user-friendly system is light, portable and VERY efficient. You get the added perk of "night vision" to check in on house activity in night time lighting.

If you want to use all 4 cameras, you can exercise that option as well. The Lorex device allows you to photograph and then you can send your photographs to your phone or computer. This does come with an SD card. This is ideal for keeping tabs on sitters; on guests you don't know very well and people who are in your house when you are not.

What a world we live in,

Okay, so most of the time products like this hit the market with spotty performance. Not the case here. This is one of the neatest little systems I've ever seen. My kids are too old for a monitor now, but we use it with Skype to keep an eye on things at home when we're not there. The handheld device has a nifty user interface and a pleasing bright colorful screen. Image quality is crisp and signal drop out hasn't occurred to this point. Is it a must for new parents. No. But for those who can afford it, this is a very nice product.

Great live monitoring

I received the Lorex Wireless Monitoring system & was excited to give it a try. This comes with everything you will need to get started. a handheld wireless monitor, 1 camera, 1 Gateway & antenna, a 1 GB microSD card with adapter, 3 power adapters (1 for the Gateway, the other 2 are for the camera & handheld monitor which can be used to charge or keep plugged in), and 1 network cable.

Setup was intimidating but turned out to be a breeze. If you don't already have Skype, you will have to set one up but instructions are included. The Gateway connected with no problems and once connected to Skype you can immediately begin to view the camera. Picture quality is good, not as clear as some webcams I have but good enough that you get a very clear picture of what is going on & the people you are looking at. I was most impressed with the night vision. Even in a completely dark room, everything was still lit & easily viewed.

You don't have to use Skype for viewing. The handheld device makes for easy viewing when you are home. This is ideal for when you have babies or young children. Just place the camera in their room & carry the hand held monitor with you from room to room. It's about the size of a slim cell phone so it will easily slip into your pocket. Sound is included so you will be able to hear if a little one is crying. Have more than one room you need to watch? This can be expanded to up to 4 cameras. The monitor quickly allows you to flip back & forth. If you are at work or out with friends and have left kids at home with a babysitter, you can use any computer to view your home using Skype or even your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to support Android. Hopefully that will be added in the future. Great idea for keeping an eye on teens home alone as well. This would be useful if you have pets you want to keep an eye on, suspect someone of vandalizing your property (just place the camera in a window) and countless other ideas. You can record & take still photos to capture anything you see happening.

The only thing that keeps this from being a perfect little security camera is motion sensor recording. Being able to set this up to record if someone enters a room would be a wonderful addition. Unfortunately, you can only see what is happening when you log in. However, as a monitoring system, you can't beat this!

Impressive new product hits the market

I was amazed to be able to take part in using and reviewing this new Lorex video monitoring system through the Amazon Vine program. Go online and get a Skype account if you don't already have one. Then you can use this system to monitor your home from anywhere with your laptop or iPhone. This is a completely wireless and portable system. If you wish to only use it in close range say from a parent's bedroom to the nursery you can use the bright and clear handheld tool included with the system. It has night vision which makes using it as a baby monitor a breeze. You can add up to four cameras so all you with quadruplets are in luck! Perhaps you are watching your kids play in the other room and one is doing something hilarious or adorable. The Lorex handheld device can take pictures and then you download them just like you would from a standard digital camera or phone with the included SD card. I intend to use it to watch the babysitter and my kid when he plays alone in his room. What a fantastic new product that I am sure many people will want to get a hold of. Also could make a terrific and appreciated Christmas gift which would give a family member or friend a gift of security showing you care for them.

Great Monitor

What's great about it: Great features

We purchased this monitor after one of our twins escaped from her crib one night. It has many great features. I love the movement sensor, you don't have to be watching the monitor constantly to know that one of them is in action it just beeps and I know to look, Also the picture is very sharp and clear even at night. I can finally sleep again without worrying. And the modern design is a plus. I am really loving this monitor !!

Best Baby Monitor!

What's great about it: Has everything!!

What's not so great: My husband likes to play with all it's features!

I would recommend this to a friend!
