I recently purchase four (4) LNC-254 pan/tilt cameras. The Lorex web site where I purchased the cameras has documentation for said camera that the L-View monitoring software supports 4 cameras with an optional software available for 16 cameras. I now have 15 IP cameras on my network and also have software for 4 and 16 camera L-View. Upon installing the LNC-254 cameras I had to download the newer version of L-View to have the pan/tilt panel work in the software, the version update fixed the problem. However the 16 camera L-View which is exactly the same in every functional look and feel will not support pan/tilt. The panel is there, it just will not work. It seems to me that a update should be available just as with the 4 camera version.
The "available" 16 camera software that the current Lorex site specifies with the just purchased LNC-254's seems to be non-existent. Tech support said that it should be available for pan/tilt and transferred me to sales which states it is not available. To find this much out took six phone calls and being disconnected after a long wait on hold 4 times. It doesn't seem to matter that they advertise software that they cannot deliver, or that a customer has purchased 15 cameras believing that 16 channel software was available as promised. If they can make the 4 camera L-View work I am sure that they can also make the 16 camera software work for pan/tilt. The camera in itself is five stars, the not "available" software and customer service leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Hard to believe that this is a Flir company, spec and purchase many Flir IR cameras for work use.
