I loved using this camera for piece of mind. We have been able to monitor our baby while napping so she wouldn't have to wake up screaming for us. There is MANY issues with the app constantly crashing and being laggy etc. The voice over doesnt work very well and after a while stopped working all together. Even with all these issues, It has been a nice camera to have; giving me piece of mind when I am at work or doing house chores while my daughter naps. I have just recently become very disappointed however since a few months back I noticed that the back of my camera had popped open, at first I disregarded it until I realized it kept getting worse, my husband looked at it and noticed the battery had swollen up. How dangerous that could have been if my daughter had gotten ahold of it. I will have no choice but to stop using it since it is now a hazard. I signed into the website only to find out my warranty just ran out a few months back, wishing I would have addressed the issue as soon as I noticed the back prying open. Lesson learned :(

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear your camera malfunctioned and we were happy to resolve this for you.

It works good once you are connected to the camera. However the first time connection is a bit of trouble. I tried to start the app after about two months and now cannot connect to the camera. The other issues is it stops recording once the memory card is full. It will not delete the old clips. I first thought that it will delete the oldest and start recording the new clips, but that not the case. So you cannot use this for surveillance. It's just ok for monitoring only if you do it regularly. otherwise you have to set it up all over again, which is annoying.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you're having trouble with the camera. Our technical support team would be happy to help you. Please call us at 1-877-755-6739.

I have used many cameras in the past and that is why i bought this one. This is wireless, built in battery, Hd resolution, IR for night vision, sound, recording, etc. I was excited by the possibilities, but then disappointed after receiving the camera. After getting it set up i was able to connect and live view the camera. I could never get the recording to work with a motion, sound, or temperature trigger. I ended up sending the camera in for a replacement, still doesn't work but after dealing with Lorex for over a month on this issue i just gave up. I should mention that i have 2 similar cameras, the Flir FX. I have issues with these as well. I can get motion triggered recordings but can't view the cameras unless a direct wifi connections is established. Not sure if the same people are working on the cameras that appear to be similar. So far i am not impressed, if the camera did what it was supposed to do then i would be pretty happy and i would give a better rating but it doesn't deserve that. I hope that the fact that Flir owns Lorex they might start to deliver quality working products but at this point i am not convinced.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you are not fully satisfied with your cameras. Our technical support team was happy to assist you. Should you require further assistance please call 1-888-425-6739.

Great baby monitor, small and I can take it with me most places. I'm getting a replacement battery because mine died quickly but otherwise this is a fantastic baby monitor.

Great design and compact baby monitor. Very versatile and small. It does get hot though, so can not be left on for days with out turning it off. My battery started to expand and loosen open the casing of the monitor. Which Im getting it replaced under warranty. The app software on either iOS or Android needs to be more stable. Its 85% stable and the rest is 15% of crashes. I really wished the app can run in background mode.

Thank you for your feedback. Our customer service team was happy to assist you.

Camera is very clear and does the job. The night light is a nice feature. Having the battery is cool if I ever need it, but I don't really use it. I would buy it again.

Considerations for those looking to buy:
Slow to load. I don't really care much, as I have patience and don't need it to load instantly, however it does take 10-15 seconds to load the image in the app.

Purple tint to the image. Again, I just need to check-in on my son. I don't care what color it is.

The sound coming from the baby monitor or vice versa is not very clear. I don't use these features.

The camera initially wouldn't go to night mode, so you couldn't see anything at night. This was a show stopper, however power cycling the camera fixed the issue, and I haven't seen the issue since.

The camera needs a pretty strong wifi signal for use through the internet. Initially we couldn't use the camera through the internet, though we could use it as a wifi hotspot - a nice feature. We then changed rooms the baby was in, and the internet issue was no longer an issue.

I wrote a review elsewhere, but then was offered a reason to write another review on this specific model.

I ordered 2 of these on sale. Really wanted the WiFi version to use on my phone, didn't get it. Got 1 replacement camera instead.

No reasoning behind it, no nothing, just a box with 1 thing I didn't order. Obviously expectations have not met reality and I'm annoyed. If I order 2 Toyota Camry's and someone shows up at my door and just drops off a Honda Accord without any reasoning you can believe I have questions and am not happy.

I have a job and these guys mainly work during my business hours. So I call them at lunch. On hold for 10 minutes when an option finally happens, "Do you want to leave a call back number and the next rep will call you back?" Heck yes, I leave the number.

2 hours later I receive a call from strange number. I answer it immediately to hear "Hello, Hello?" Instant hang up. Like no joke, 1 second and then hang up...

Anyways, 2 days later 45 minutes hold time later I start getting answers. I didn't receive this product. I received another product. And so far it's pretty good. But can I really give more than 2 stars if I had a miserable time obtaining the product?

It's a good camera as long as it's not defective. I bought two and the first one stopped transmitting video after connecting an SD card even after much troubleshooting. The second one works well though. Had both cameras worked, this would be a 4 star review rather than 3. For the sale price I bought the cameras at, they're worth it.

We purchased this because it was a great deal at the time on Brad's Deals for $22. We use it as a monitoring device for our living room for our kids and for when our daughter gets home from school. So far we like it. It is nice you can talk out of it but wish it were louder.

I recently tried to purchase this item on sale. But didn't get it. they sent a replacement product. Average customer service in that the employee knew about the mistake, but a follow up email or letter stating why I was given a replacement product would be appreciated so I did not have to wait 40 minutes on the phone. Thats where customer service scored a bad mark with me. The replacement product works great. I use it in the car but I would have liked this wifi version instead.

I bought this unit for my elderly mother in-law. She forgets to hang up the phone. Now if she does we can check on her with this monitor. It gives us a great piece of mind. Very good picture quality. Like the night light too. Adjustable levels is nice. Would recommend. Nice product.

I like it because I can access it anywhere in the world (just traveled to Mexico and I could see my little one in his room doing his thing). My only complaint is that for some reason the sound quality is pretty awful. It sounds muffled most of the time and then has a high piercing noise... pretty annoying that I can barely hear my baby. Other than that I love it!

Bought 2 of these and received only one. Called and was told the 2nd was not coming, and I would get a refund for both, making it free. Haven't seen the refund yet. I use it as a security camera for my house. HD Video is great. Easy setup, works good enough to get basic purpose of having a camera monitoring your baby. Great price if it turns out to be free.

I bought this camera to monitor our two puppies and like it very much. I like the clarity, including in night time darkness

We've had no issues and have a few suggestions, namely
- Camera angle - would appreciate more vertical adjustment (downward) when used as a tabletop camera, to better see the floor area. I mounted it to the wall so now have no problem
- motion detection - as someone else said, agreed, would be nice to select zones within the field of view.

One note to others who may be experiencing connection problems is to name the wireless networks in the house differently for 2.4 GHz and 5Ghz and connect the camera to only one of them. If both frequencies have the same name it may cause connection issues like described by other people in their reviews.

Meh. I only spent $22 bucks on this camera, and now I know why it's so cheap. The lag is nearly 20 seconds. If I'm in the house, I can hear my baby crying way before I hear or see anything on my phone. The lullabies, although quite soothing and unique tend to skip and jump around, which freaks my baby out. I wish there was a way to have the app running in the background.

If it weren't for the very delayed response in video and audio, and the buffering of wouldn't be that terrible.

The picture quality is good. The audio is very quiet and if you have the lullabies playing, that's all you can hear.

I would not recommend this to use as a baby monitor. It's going in the play room so I can spy on my two older kids.

My camera kept cutting out and would not stay connected to the APP. The night vision stopped working on it. I had originally purchased 2 camera's and the other one worked fine. I tried contacting LOREX for over 20 DAYS of calling them. I left messages and called and called only to get no reply. Frustrated I sent the camera in for warranty without ever talking to anyone. Still haven't received my replacement camera after a month of waiting. WORST CUSTOMER service I have experienced. I opened numerous "tickets" but no responses. The after hours person who answered the phone said they are having issues with warranties and the call center. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from Lorex as they do not answer their phones or support their products. I have written proof of everything so far.

Great camera, I use it as a security camera for my house. HD Video is great and much better than those non-hd ones. I wish there were more options in the settings, like turning off audio, turning off IR leds from coming on at night. I wish there was an option to set how long recorded clips are. I wish it had motion detection zones so that you can block certain areas of the video from detecting motion.

Otherwise great camera, very useful, but with some software tweaks it could provide some great options.

Bought two-camera pack during Black Friday sale at a relatively nice price. The first camera stopped working after 2 weeks. Took some time to exchange it. The replacement works fine so far. I use Android phone and tablet. It works perfectly with Samsung galaxy note 3 and 4 phones but does not work with any of my tablets. There are some issues with the color of the pictures but overall the quality is OK. I bought it as a dog-watching camera, so it works fine for that purpose. I had really big problem with my two previous Lorex camera systems as after their warranty had expired I was not able to set up remote viewing connection without being forced to pay for technical support, so I just use them for local monitoring. I wonder if the same thing is going to happen after the warranty expires for this unit.

The camera itself is nice. It seems to be built well and the only drawback I see so far is its lack on an IR cut filter, which makes the video have a purple cast at times (which is documented/expected). 720p HD is good quality and since this camera is "cloud" connected, you can view the video from anywhere you have internet access via your phone. By following the included instructions, the application is easy enough to install and configure. As others report there are a few flaws in the iPhone app (pressing temperature in Settings or pressing 2-way talk button) that cause the app to crash and in turn seem to make the camera unstable.

Bought this as a dog-cam and doubly as a security camera after my house got broken into recently. When I first received it, I set everything up and it worked beautifully for a good 40 minutes or so-- until the light at the top went out and the camera disconnected entirely. The nightlight still worked but the camera wouldn't turn on anymore. I had activated my warranty and opened a ticket on the website, and someone responded to it the next day. They told me to call the company, so I did, and after about 20 minutes of one-sided "uh-huh, let me just check something, mm-hmm, okay, let's see..., alright" the guy agreed that a replacement was in order. He mentioned how customer service was backed up because of recent holiday and cyber Monday orders, so it took a little over a week for them to send me the replacement. I was instructed that I would later receive an email with a print-out for a pre-paid packaging slip to stick on the box to return the broken camera, but never got it (it's been about 1-2 weeks since I received the replacement), so now I have an expensive nightlight in a box, taking up space and ready to ship back.

Customer service was pretty good. Didn't give me trouble for asking for a replacement and didn't take terribly long to send it. Set up was pretty easy, I just placed it atop my dresser in the corner. The wire is more than long enough, and it sees across the entire room horizontally (but not vertically-- I can't see my floor where my dog lays down and at someone standing in front of the camera at the same time). Video quality is good for the price (I bought it at a special discount of $45). A huge plus for me is that if you supply your email address in the app, you can opt to receive email notifications with pictures, which I did, whenever it detects motion, audio, or temperature change. You can also take a picture or record a video saved to your phone for free. Those are features that were hard to find when I was researching cameras, especially for free (ie. Dropcam requires you to pay a subscription for those).

I use an iPhone and the app is a little wonky. Some of the buttons only work sometimes, like the Talk button-- I had to press it on, off, then on again for it to start working. Same goes for the Audio to listen through the cam. It doesn't pick up enough light to stay in full color mode; a lot of the time it stays in black and white night-vision (which is creepy). The audio has a delay of a few seconds; video has a delay of about half a second at best, up to 2 seconds at worst, as I've seen. Audio isn't very clear both ways, and because of the long delay, not recommended for emergencies.

Overall, I don't regret this purchase. It might not be worth the original price listing of $200, but it certainly was worth the $45 that I got it for!

we bought this as a baby monitor along with 2 other wireless cameras (izon brand) to be used as security cameras, we've been comparing the two. Our beefs with this camera:
- you can't make the sound loud enough on an android phone, the "max" volume is too quiet to really use as a baby monitor. If you are watching your phone it works, but I can hear the baby cry in the room equally as on the phone. The other security cameras we bought are loud and clear on my phone. Works better on the iphone.
-You can't connect it to the computer: I was hoping to solve the "it's too quiet" problem by putting it on my computer or TV. not possible.
-Delay is really long: compared to our secuirty cameras, the delay on this is ridiculous. Sound and video both have a significant delay.
-Music feature is cool, but when you turn it on you can't hear ANYTHING but the music on your phone so it makes it even less practical as a baby monitor. no volume control on sounds for baby.
-We wanted the two way sound, but quality for talking to baby is so low, it's all choppy and sounds quite creepy.
-The video is purple, unlike our izon cameras
-You have to connect it to the computer to get the videos off, the izon does that wirelessly.

Set up was so-so.
Though advertised as HD, the quality is very similar to the non HD cameras we bought as security cameras.
we haven't tried the battery feature, but it could be handy in somewhere like a hotel or at a party or something.

We got it heavily discounted so we can't return it because we wont' find anything better for the price.
The night light works.
Has a wider angle than the security cameras we bought.

Fantastic idea.
Too bad it's Lorex trying to support it.

My 3hr battery will be lucky to get 4 minutes. You can count to 4 and 1% ticks away. I bought this for 2 reasons and the advertisement for 3hrs battery life is 90% why.

I connected my android phone and tablet directly with practicality zero issues. Connection through the router was very easy also.

What makes this an absolute avoid is the complete and utter lack of service this company provides. Just read the rest of the posts, I have suffered from the same experience also. Zero response to a service ticket or 5 days later some jackass posts a reply that just says call us. WTF!?!?

If want to get by far the absolute worst service imaginable then go right ahead and buy someone from them. Stay away. By something else somewhere else.

Image quality is decent. The app is a little slow and sometimes will not connect. I bought it on sale so for the price was good value. The battery life is not what is stated. I get 1 hours to 1 hour 15 minutes tops.

Location: Santiago, Chile

I purchased this during a visit to NYC (I'm from Chile), and If you have an IPhone or Ipad, it works great, and is very easy to configure it but if you have an Android device (in my case Samsung Galaxy Tab II runing Android v4.1), first at all try to find Lorex Baby Link App in Google Play (is really hard to find it, lets related Lorex products), and once you found it, check if the version is compatible with your device (in my case, incompatible despite system requirements is v3.2 vs v4.1 in my tablet).
So, last week I opened a ticket for tech support (only by email, beacuase registration web page don't support any other addres or phone number diferent than UK, Canada, Mexico en USA......) and I'm waiting for some kind of help or explantion about this problem. I hope they answer me and solve it, because the camera is pricey and I don't want to change my tablet (and spend more money) for a software problem.

The setup was fairly straight forward - however, it took several tries for the camera to link up.
The good news is that you don't have to punch any firewall holes inbound. I assume the camera connects to a Lorex controlled server - which you then connect to for Internet viewing.

The picture quality is definitely better than most. I haven't tried the motion sensor. The only feature that would have been nice is the ability to control panning, remotely.

Appe works on iphone 5s, Nexus 5s, and Nexus 7 2013. Does not work with Nexus 7 (original).

All Nexus devices are running Android Lollipop.

The Lorex quick start guide is nice and short, but is missing out basic info such as for instance how to reset.

Once I finally got the cams running on my Android smartphone and tablet, I had to find out that simply connecting to the camera can easily take 15 to 20 seconds. Assum8ng this might be due to my internet or router, i upgraded my line to 100Mbit and bought a new router (top of line from linksys). NO CHANGE!!!

After last week changing my router password (which I do once per half year)...the cams didn't connect anymore. I tried to reset in app and despite several attempts (and YES, I typed the pwd correctly) it didn' reconnect..not to speak of the super slow app. Here again only option seems to be to reatore to factory setting...have done that but wasted an afternoon in the process.

To be fair..the few times the cams were actually running, I was quite happy with picture quality and nightvision. However Lorex support is terrible and on a second ticket simply asked me to call them. Reading through other comments, this seems to be a recurring problem. Also I found it strange that only one remote device / smartphone can access a camera at a time. My wife and me both work and want to check in on our child...but even when she already logged out from her phone, the app kept saying for several minutes that "cam already used by other device"...kind of defeating the purpose from my point of view.

I purchased this through amazon. It did not work properly upon arrival. I opened a ticket online, and after waiting 3 days they basically said call us. I waited for nearly an hour without a response until my phone died. Seriously? Do you have one employee handling all sales and support? Forget it. Not for $200. I'll replace it with a Motorola or something.

This little gadget is really cool. It's convenient in that it transforms your cell phone into a baby monitor. In order to use, you must download the Lorex app for your phone. The biggest problem that I found is that Lorex uses it's own wifi which then switches you off of your homes wifi and it's a pain to keep switching back and forth. I wasn't able to find a way around but then again I'm not super up to date on technology. The picture is clear and sound is good. It offers a feature to talk into the room so you can soothe your baby without going in. Overall it's good / just wish it was easy to hook up to my home wifi.

This little baby monitor works quite well. It's the 4th such monitor I've used and in the end I've been as happy with the LorexBaby as any I've tried. The app (only tested on an iPhone 5s) is a bit fussy, but once set up works well. If you don't get it working right away stick with it a bit and you'll get there. The angle of view is about right for my use but some people might wish for a bit wider view. The image quality is nothing special, but enough for it's intended purpose. I have found the night vision feature (which only works in SD mode) to be less that perfect, but I use the camera to look at a whole room and the LED IR lights have a hard time filling a room. Up closer (if the camera is setup to look into a crib for example) it would work very well. There are a lot of options in this category now and while the LorexBaby Little Link HD doesn't shine, it holds it's own nicely.

I got this as a gift, but I tried it out first to make sure it worked. It was easy enough to set up -- although I do this kind of stuff fairly often, so I'm probably better at it than the average user. The quality is generally good -- good enough, anyway. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth considering if you need video in your baby monitor.

Hotspot technology does not require router connection, 300' range (I've only tested this within the house, with no issues)

Password security

Camera can be used without the base; 3 hours of operation on rechargeable battery

Great night vision

Night light, lullaby tunes

Take pictures and video to your phone (1280x720 or 848x480 resolution)

Two-way talk

Motion event recording to optional SD card

Motion, sound, or temperature alerts, all of which work pretty well

3-hour battery life is not much, although not sure when you would use this. You could pair it with a portable recharger, I suppose. Still, a nice option.

Cannot view on PC or Mac

Couldn't seem to record video AND two-way talk at the same time

This is a nice camera, whether used for a baby or not. Setup was easy for watching it within my house but I have not been able to get it to work outside of the house. My home network has double NAT, meaning I have a router behind my DSL router so that is probably the reason but there are no instructions within the monitor for any port forwarding. So for now I will review the camera itself and how it worked when at home.

Setup was easy with a a simple download of the iPhone application to connect to the camera. The camera has its own hotspot so you have to set your phone wireless to connect to the Lorex web cam wireless first. Once connected you can adjust the settings, including home wifi, camera password, camera name, and different video settings. Once I finished those steps, connecting to the camera was simple when I was connected to the camera hotspot. I wasn't able to yet to connect to it from my home wifi while at home or remote. The application on your phone lets you see the video and make some settings changes like volume. The camera has some features designed for baby's where you can turn on a little night light on the camera that lights up the bottom of the camera in a soothing white. You can also tell the camera to play some sounds. The camera also has a temperature gauge and will send you an alert on your phone if the room the camera is in becomes too hot. The one feature this camera has that others I have seen do not is bi-directional talk. You can hear the baby by the camera and you can say things from your phone that will play over the camera. You can take pictures and record as well, there is a slot for a microSD card for added storage. The camera does come with a built in batter that will last a couple of hours if needed.

Overall this is a nice camera and has a lot of features designed for monitoring a baby. If you are looking for a nanny cam where you can watch things while at work, you might have to figure out how to get it to work remotely as I have to.

Well I was able to set right up after downloading the Lorex Baby app. I was excited to get to use this because I was about to vacation and wanted to be able to check on the pets at home. I never could get it to work. I searched and searched for answers. The Lorex baby site is not user friendly at all for technical issues. They really need to revamp this and possibly even get some live chat. I think that would do wonders for customer loyalty and satisfaction. After trying too much I just gave up. I thought the DVD provided might give some answers or lead to a better ability to do this, but it was of no help. I searched on sites outside of Lorex as well, to no avail.

That said, when in the home my camera worked great. The 2-way communication was great and the extra features such as music playing for baby were flawless. Because most will want the ability to use this out of the home, I am on the fence about recommending this.

As others have noted, it can be a bit challenging to set up. I use it as a little surveillance tool to keep an eye on the yard through a window (therefore, inside and protected from the elements). It works well for this, but I don't use the sound, lullaby etc. capabilities. The family is expecting its first grandchild, so I will probably use the whole setup as intended down the road. In the meanwhile it works - the nightvision is actually pretty decent. It reminds me of car backup cameras - able to work in all light and switch modes automatically. The wifi connection works OK, but would be better if you have outstanding connectivity - which I don't. But, it works OK - I'm not looking for high speed HD video in this case.

I set this monitor up for our dog. I know, but my babies are all grown now. The set up was pretty easy. I had it up and working in a few minutes. The HD setting sometimes runs a bit slow, maybe that is my wireless? Not sure because my wireless usually runs pretty fast? I did have to reload the app twice after a few days. Seems to be better now.

The two way communication is pretty cool. I think it freaks my dog out when I tell her to get off the couch. She looks startled, can't figure out where the voice is coming from because she watched me leave the house. But it works, she gets off the couch.

I like the idea of the wifi feature of this monitor, and I hope it's safe and secure. I didn't experience any problems installing this. My phone is new enough that it was compatible, but I would suggest that everyone check compatibility before investing in this monitor.

The images are fairly clear on SD mode. HD was too slow, but isn't really necessary for us. The color is decent as long as the room is well lit. The night vision works well, better than I expected. I was able to capture still images, which was nice. I haven't tried to record videos, probably because all I see are two little dogs sleeping all day. I do seem to lose contact every now and then, but it works well most of the time.

The unit is lightweight and small. The nightlight is a nice touch and puts out just the right amount of light. It's easy to use, and I like the way it looks. Overall, I think this is a good monitor with nice features.

I have very little patience with products that require long setups; fortunately, this was not the case here. Setup was pretty fast with the simple start-up guide that came in the box. Once set up, you can leave the wifi hot spot created by the camera and use your regular wifi, which was a little tricky to work out, but it came through in the end. While the image periodically froze or dropped out using only the SD setting (it said HD could be slow, so just imagine...), it was there for at least 80% of the time, but this area could definitely use some improvement. Also, the temperature gauge seemed a bit off, and I wasn't able to fix it. Likewise, it took a while to get the music feature running. Overall, this is a great product, but maybe some kinks still need to be worked out

I figured this would be difficult to set up but after reading the instructions it wasn't to bad.All you do is plug it in with the included power adapter and download the app. There are a few steps after but I had video in a minute or so.It was nice and clear and I don't see any problems with it.The app has several things you can set the camera to do like if the baby makes a noise like crying it will send you an alert. It can also send alerts for movement and temperature changes.I tested the movement and noise feature and they both worked fine. There is two way communication which I like and it will play lullabyes also.It also has a night light that has three settings for brightness. It needs to be left plugged in or it will only last a few hours on the battery.I forget to mention you can connect it using the cameras wifi or you can use your home wireless connection which allows you to remotely check on your little one from anywhere in the world.I set it up with the cameras wifi but im sure it works with your home wi fi fine.Other reviewers have mentioned it works ok.Its not a bad choice for a baby monitor but it is expensive.

If I had written this review the first day we hooked the LorexBaby Little Link up, I would have given it 5 stars.Really easy to set up and simple to use. Awesome clear picture, love the voice ability, LOVE the lullabys, super love that I can watch the baby on my phone.

But the next morning, no picture. We reinstalled, started over again, PERFECT! For a couple of hours, then Poof! no picture.

We noticed that there a note to keep the monitor at 62 degrees (seriously? in a baby's room?) so thought maybe it had overheated as the room temp was 72 degrees. Removed the camera from the room to the coolest place we could find in our house for a few hours, then replaced it. Working again!

Room temp now 67 degrees. Two hours later, no picture. Ok, maybe it's overheating because we are keeping it plugged it? Unplugged it, allowed it to die, then keep track of how long it is on. Still turns itself off.

We've tried turning the music off, turning the night light off, wondering it those are somehow draining it? Nothing works.

We are at a loss as to how to keep it running. The only thing that has worked at all is to remove the camera and cool it, and then get a few hours of use before it once again stops.

The product is a wonderful idea, and when it works, it is truly fantastic. Sadly, for us, that is about 10 hours of use in almost a month of owning it.

The Lorex LBN511 Little Link Video Baby Monitor is a small but powerful tool to keep your eyes upon your infant from anywhere in the house or, for that matter, from anywhere in the world.

The Little Link monitor uses wireless connectivity using the camera’s unique ID number to connect to secure and protected Lorex cloud servers so you can use your smartphone or tablet (iPhone or android platforms) from any room or any other location you might be in to connect to the camera and monitor your baby’s room.

The camera’s HD resolution makes for a very clear view and also comes with Crystal Clear Night Vision. The device will send motion, sound and room temperature alerts to whatever device you are using.

The monitoring camera also allows you to take photos which than can be saved to your device to be shared with friends and family. It comes with a two-way talk feature so you can speak and baby hears your voice through the monitor.

With the rechargeable battery the monitor can be operated cordless at other locations for up to three hours. But leave it plugged in and you have 24/7 surveillance.

And once baby grows up and doesn’t require the same kind of close attention you can use Little Link for general home monitoring, which might be quite useful while away from home for an extended time.

The biggest improvement that could be made is to make Lorex Little Link compatible with Windows so it can be used on laptops or PCs.

This is a really nice camera. Setting it up was very easy, got the app and I was ready to check it out.

I first tried the night time and was able to see when the baby turned around, it activated itself. I was able to talk to the baby and soothe him without having to go upstairs. I then played one of the lullabies and the baby fell asleep again.

You will need to have WiFi installed in your house to better utilize this product. We have wired and WiFi so we had no problems but for those with no WiFi this product will use your data plan.

I liked the product but with the current price there are other cheaper alternatives in the market.

I was excited about this but after trying it out, realized it was essentially the same as my Dropcam (and they are the same price). The only additional feature this has that a Dropcam doesn't is that you can click the base and it turns into a light. My Dropcam on the other hand, is the same price, had a mic you can speak through and its cloud recording system actually recognizes and identifies common patterns of activity and alerts you. While this product here is specifically marketed as a baby monitor, it looks like there are better products out there--intended for general use yes--that do the same thing.

For some reason I can't find the app on ITunes for use on my IPad but the app on my IPhone works perfectly. Easy set up; sets up quickly. Once the unit is on, everything can be controlled from the IPhone app. Picture is clear and using a landscape view makes the picture a good size for monitoring.

I don't know that the audio function is great, however. Difficult to hear sounds transmitted through the camera and I'm not sure that sound from phone to camera is much better. But I still give it 5 stars because the basic camera function works fine.

Other features:

- monitors motion in the room

- Neat night light in the base is useful for seeing the camera in a dark room without being glaring

- monitors room temperature and sends an alert if it goes above or below the min and max temps set

- can use to send alerts to email address

- can snap a picture or take a video via the phone

Makes a really useful baby monitor but would be useful for other monitoring needs as well. Camera is small enough to fit unobtrusively anywhere in the room and can be easily mounted on a wall if necessary. Charges quickly and the camera holds about a 3 hour charge without the plug. Probably would be more useful if the battery time were longer but really it's not the type of camera that one would want to use for long without a plug. Regardless despite a few limitations this is a terrific unit.

I don't have a baby or child and I don't intend on having to live with one anytime soon (well, my current roommate acts like a child quite often, but he really is an adult). I only mention this because a person like me is not someone you would think would have a use for a baby monitor. However, I have discovered that baby monitors are a great and fairly inexpensive tool to use for general home surveillance as well as a way to take and capture unusual photographs.

From my experience so far, the LOREXBABY LBN511 LITTLE LINK HD WI-FI VIDEO BABY MONITOR seems to be a quality baby monitor. The monitor is wireless which is a huge plus (although it can also be an annoyance if you have limited tech experience or if you happen to experience some compatibility issues). The monitor has an internal battery that requires an initial charge. Once charged it doesn't need to be charged again until about 3-4 hours later. For those with a baby, this might be a little frustrating because it won't last through the night and makes a better device to use to monitor the baby while napping. Anyway, after initially charging the monitor all you need to do is download the app for the device to your smart phone or tablet and you're ready to do some baby watching from afar. I have an iPhone 4 and didn't have any trouble setting up the monitor.

Once you are set up, you can use the LOREXBABY LBN511 LITTLE LINK HD WI-FI VIDEO BABY MONITOR to take pictures and even video from your smart phone or tablet. The device has a two way talk feature which allows you to not only hear someone in a different room, but to talk to them as well.

There's a night vision feature on this monitor which is excellent. Personally, I found this to be one of the more exciting features about this particular baby monitor. The video that comes through with the night vision is some of the best I have seen: the picture is much clearer and more like watching black and white tv instead of the usual grainy and green images that a night vision feature usually transmits. There's also a night light on the base of the monitor that can be turned on and off either manually or remotely through your smartphone or tablet with the app.

Other features of the LOREXBABY LBN511 LITTLE LINK HD WI-FI VIDEO BABY MONITOR include sound, motion, and room temperature alerts and the typical lullaby feature that can play several different lullabies or one pre-recorded lullaby on repeat. The sound, motion, and room temperature alerts all you to configure the sensitivity of the monitor to notify you of any movement that is made, any unusual sounds, and if the temperature in the room changes. Not only will an alert be sent to your smartphone or tablet if any changes take place, but the video feature of the monitor will also begin recording once an alert is sent.

The only major flaw in using the LOREXBABY LBN511 LITTLE LINK HD WI-FI VIDEO BABY MONITOR is that you have to have an excellent wi-fi connection. If you live in an area where you don't have decent wi-fi or where there are frequent wi-fi outages, you would be better off looking at a different type of baby monitor.

Personally, I have really enjoyed using the the LOREXBABY LBN511 LITTLE LINK HD WI-FI VIDEO BABY MONITOR. Initially, I set it up to take some pictures and video outside of my apartment. Then I used it to take some pictures in the dark using the night vision feature: they look amazing. I was telling a friend of mine who does paranormal investigations about this device and when I am going to donate it to them to use later this summer and in the fall when they conduct some investigations. I have shown them some of the video and pictures I took using the night vision feature and they were really impressed with it. So, perhaps a decent baby monitor also makes a great tool in paranormal investigating, too.

My only previous experience in writing a review on Amazon for a baby monitor was the Levana 32108 Era Advanced 2.4 Digital Wireless Video Baby Monitor with Picture Capture and Digital Zoom (Black). In comparison, I found the LOREXBABY LBN511 LITTLE LINK HD WI-FI VIDEO BABY MONITOR to be far superior. If you don't have a good wi-fi connection the Levana would be a decent buy. However, if you do have good wi-fi, the LorexBaby is a far better monitor.

Easy Set-Up

I like this baby monitor, the set up is very easy unlike some WIFI devices. Simply plug in the monitor, power it on and download the app (iphone / android only, sorry windows phone owners). It has instructions too should any issues arise. It has HD streaming and SD streaming depending on bandwidth (HD is required for good non-delayed audio transmission). Tt works well, even in our 4,000 sq ft space with minimal signal loss. The image is crisp and clear, it has a light option and two-way audio which is pretty nifty. I wish that I would be able to use it with my desktop PC, but other than that its pretty cool with a nice elegant design.

I was a little worried about getting the Lorex Baby video monitor because I was afraid it would be complicated to set up. I shouldn't have worried. Even though I'm not very tech savvy, (I can do a little, but not much.) this was an easy set up. Since I don't have a little child to monitor, except when my grandchildren visit, I pointed the camera at my back door. I think I want a couple more of these for other entry points of my house. The video plays as an app on my smart phone. I could have it on my computer, but I want to check on things while I am away from home. I like that it has the availability for me to speak through the monitor and to pick up the voice from the monitor. It is small and will record on a SD chip.

Finally a baby monitor done with the right technology in mind, compared to most of the marked that forces you to carry us less bulky end devices that all they have is a screen or a speaker.

I gave it 4 stars only due to the quality of the app.

This monitor does the job when you want to know what is happening in your baby's room, or any room for that matter.

Here's what I like:

- Set up is extremely simple. Just plug in and power on the monitor, download the app to your phone and follow the instructions to link the monitor to the app and your done!

I have an android phone so can't comment on iphone or ipad connectivity.

- Night light on base of monitor can be turned on/off locally or remotely.

- Monitor can play several different children's lullabies that can be repeated or played just one time.

- Two way talk allows you to have a conversation, not just hear what is going on.

- Sound and motion alerts can be activated so you have a mini-alarm system installed in your baby's room.

Here's what I recommend to get the most out of the monitor:

Have a very strong wifi connection so you can watch/record the video in HD. Otherwise, shift to standard definition (SD) so the frame rate is good for viewing the video.

A strong wifi is also needed for the two way audio to work without a significant delay.

For $180, you get peace of mind that your child is okay, or if something goes wrong, you'll know about it.

As the title of this review says, this product just wasn't what I expected it to be. I was exciting when I ordered it through the Vine program. I have recently taken physical custody of my mischievous 3-year-old grandchild. I wanted to be able to keep an eye on her when I wasn't able to be in the same room with her and I found this product to be a bit difficult to use. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and to this day, I cannot get it to work on my phone. I've uninstalled and re-installed the required app and when I try to start it, it switches my wif-fi to 4G which can be pricey if it exceeds my data plan. I utilized the mini disc that came with it and it was just worthless. When you click on the many resources and apps it says are on the disc, it takes you to the company's website. One of the resources on the disc is supposed to be the user manual, which takes you to the Lorex website, and for the life of me, I cannot find a user manual anywhere on it.

I wasn't going to give up, so I tried the app from the Google Play store on my husband's Motorola Razr and it works just fine. I then tried downloading it on my iPad and first had problems, but was finally able to find the app by going through the Play Store through Google Search, because when I tried to put in the name of the app directly through the Play Store, it says app not found. I eventually got it to work on my iPad, but after about an hour it told me it couldn't locate my camera or it couldn't connect to the internet. Very irritating.

Enough about my irritation, I will say that while connected to my husband's phone, the video is excellent. There is a delay from time to time but overall it has a good photo. The camera has night vision and a night light which I think it pretty cool. It has an option to capture photos or recover videos as well as sound and talk. Good product, if you can get it to work with your device. And, I'm in no means blaming the product, however, it seems to have obvious compatibility issues. I would think for $200 list pricing, this product would connect like a charm. And for $200, I would expect to receive 2 devices instead of the one that you get. I know home security system devices that come with 5 cameras for the same price.

If the compatibility issues could be resolve this would up my rating to a 5.

The Lorex Baby monitor is just excellent. I got it to check on my dogs when I am not home and it is just perfect. First of all the setup was simple with great directions packed in box. Took me about ten minutes or so. I used it today and it works great. I was twenty miles away at a dog show with one of my dogs. I pulled up the monitor on my IPhone and could see the others dogs and what they were doing. Picture is great and I can even speak to the dogs through the mike. I can also use this for security when I am home by aiming the camera at my back patio. Great for dogs, super for babies. This is a most useful product and I love it.

What's great about it: Picture quality

What's not so great: Video/Sound Lag, temp monitor, lullaby sound, app operation

I was excited about this unit. The ability to check in on my little dude from anywhere in the world sounded great. The high definition picture is wonderful.

The downsides are still just too great. Using your iPhone is a great idea, but what happens if you get a call, text, need to look something up, etc? Your child is unsupervised. Every night you will need to change your iPhone settings so it won't "go to sleep", or else the monitoring will stop. Don't forget to change the setting the next morning, or your phone will be dead by noon.

I left the camera plugged in overnight, and three hours after I plugged the camera in, it got so hot that the temperature readout went blank and never came back.

The video feed has a 5 to 10 second delay over wifi. Being across the house, using the camera as a hotspot was not an option as it didn't reach. Drove my wife crazy. Speeds up and slows down, so the clear image looks like its in fast forward/slow motion sometimes. And it freezes and you have to reset the app on occasion as well. When trying to restart the camera feed, it will say "another device is already connected", so you have to wait a few minutes to reconnect. All time your infant is unsupervised.

The night light works fine when pressing the button on the camera, but it wouldn't turn on for us remotely. The music sounded very nice through the iPhone, but the speakers must be right next to the mic, because in the room it is VERY quiet. Just like the two way communication.

This camera is passable for a playroom or nanny cam, but it isn't a true "baby monitor".
