Worst company ever. I will NEVER purchase anything from Lorex again. I purchased this unit which crapped out in less than 6 months of us. Screen was terrible and battery. Plastic was cheap. It comes with a 1 year warranty I spent hours on the phone got all my proof of purchase sent in and they said a replacement unit would come in 10-14 days. 1 and a half month went by and I received nothing. I called and spoke to a manager and he said oh no sorry we don't replace re calls units and we aren't sending another unit. Excuse what? Your staff should all be on the same page. They gave me a recall number to call and they would send a prepaid label and I would send it back. It's been weeks again I got no label email call or anything. You sit on the phone waiting minimum 30 minutes to one hour to speak to someone then they transfer you a hundred times or give you another number to call and there's no end result. Wasted my money and time. No a happy customer and will never return or recommend. I'd give it a 0 star for my experience if I could.

Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. You will be contacted by our recall center shortly or you can call in

We found the night vision to be great but after 3 to 4 months the battery failed. It became swollen and would not hold a charge. Highly disappointed with a unit that now had to stay plugged in all the time.

Our apologies for the inconvenience. This model was recalled. Please visit for more information.

I would not recommend this product. After going through 3 batteries and 2 monitors and now it's lost color I'm very disappointed.

Thank you for your feedback, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

The set up was near impossible because we have a router. Had to have computer guy help me. The model number on the back didn't even match up to anything in their system when I would call for help. I'm still dumbfounded as to that. The first battery could not be off the charger for more than 20 minutes. The second battery will just shut off when it wants and I have to take a screw driver, unplug battery, and plug back in. In the middle of the night this is NOT ok. Lastly, customer service has been terrible. I am on the phone right now with a 30 minute wait to get this thing returned and my money back. Not the first time I've had bad wait time either. One time I opted for the "call me back" option and never got a call. Not impressed.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any difficulty or frustration you experienced. Our customer service team was happy to resolve this for you.

Was on my second monitor, as the first monitor broke also. Very disappointed in the stability of the monitor itself. Toggle bar quit working on the first monitor. Second monitor, screen not working. not to mention the cord on one of the cameras did not seed properly when plugged into the camera. Somewhat disappointed with the product, especially at the prices paid. I suggest that Lorex does some work on making the monitor itself, a more stable base. This was another issue as well.

After doing extensive research on all of the various baby monitors out there I purchased this product one year ago because it seemed to be the best out there based on the information on the website. I would say that based on what I have experienced in the last year I would not purchase this product again knowing what I know now. I have had issues with the battery working and have had to get a replacement twice since I purchased the product almost a year ago. The 8 hour battery life claim isn't true (even if you only have audio on as it says). Also, on one of the cameras the two-way communication didn't work so I had to have that replaced as well. I have also had problems with the picture becoming pixellated and messed up so I would say the crystal clear screen claim isn't entirely accurate either. Customer service is very poor with wait times of sometimes up to an hour when calling in and tickets being closed prior to resolution or not even being addressed. The actual product itself is okay, but given the bad customer service I would recommend not purchasing a product from Lorex. On a positive note, I do love the ability to record video and take pictures. I have captured some really neat things my kids have done that I wouldn't have been able to without this product. Also, the night vision works very well. The nightlight feature is also nice and convenient and knowing the temperature in the room is very helpful, especially the ability to set an alarm if it gets above or below a certain temperature. Although I have noticed that the built in thermometer is not accurate and usually reads about 5 degrees above the actual temperature of the room. The range is also pretty good, I can take it quite a ways from the house and have it still work. I also like the feature where you can have up to four views on the screen at the same time, although I do not like that there is no sound in this mode so I have to constantly watch the screen if I want to know if my kids are awake or crying. I also like the ability to expand to 4 cameras. Back to the negatives: The power cords on the cameras are way too short and won't even reach to mount the camera on the ceiling even though the hardware and the manual suggest this as a good option. The description says that you can control the lullaby volume from the monitor, but I haven't figured out how to do this so I'm not sure this is correct. Additionally, there is not a good way to carry the monitor around (i.e. there is no belt clip or way to secure it) so you have to just carry it with one hand which is pretty inconvenient when out and about around the house. It is also difficult to connect the monitor to wi-fi (which requires a cradle not included) because it requires you to actually hardwire into the router with an ethernet cable which is not very practical especially if staying in a hotel where access to the router usually isn't an option. If you are thinking about buying this product and have more questions about it I'm happy to help out, you can email me at I wish I had a review like this to read before I purchased the product, it might have saved me a lot of frustration. Best of luck in your purchase!

Haven't experience the battery issue as indicated here in the reviews yet, but we've only had it for a few weeks. So far it's working quite well with the monitor. Picture quality is not HD like any IP cam you can get, but we knew that from the hardware specs before purchasing. The handheld monitor works well, together with the features of the camera. The only thing that really isn't working well right out of the box is the app for the iphone. The connection freezes all the time, even reconnecting doesn't work. It just has to time itself out before connecting again for the picture to come back live. The sound through the iphone app never work either. It feels like the iphone app is an after thought with no QA ...

Since this is an expensive unit, I wouldn't recommend getting this with all these issues, especially there are so many other options out there.

We spent a good chunk of money on a monitor that has not functioned at all how it was supposed to.

1) It is supposed to work on the network so that the feed can be viewed from wireless phones, but it kills our internet connection if plugged in.

2) It is supposed to be a wireless monitor but we are now forced to use it wired at all times because the battery would not hold a charge and nearly exploded out the back of the monitor.

3) It has a sound delay and often loses signal.

An overall terrible product, and customer service that failed to address any of our concerns or failed to respond at all.

This product has been a nightmare. The battery on the first unit I received expanded and broke the monitor. The battery on the second unit I received has never been able to hold a charge and only works when plugged in. Also, they haven't updated the app that enables you to use the "wi-if" feature (for which you are paying extra) in almost a year. It only works on a very old iOS. I have contacted them several times over the course of the last year have only received empty promises. product.

Overall pleasantly surprised by this camera. I've seen and used other baby monitors, such as the Motorola and Summers, but did not like them, either because the screen size was too small or the clarity of the screen was not good.

This Camera's screen size is very generous and the clarity, I think, is EXCELLENT comparing with other models. Night vision is great too. The camera itself looks cool too. Reception is good as well. I don't know why people are complaining about it. However of course it depends on the size of the house and other electronic devices interfering. The App on the other hand is not good. Doesn't really work as it should. However, I don't care for that feature because I wouldn't want an open portal for people to potentially hack/spy into the camera.

Very Bad News: Major problem with this camera is its battery! I'm sure you've read other reviews and it's true - the battery expands after 3 months rendering it useless. C'mon, Lorex! Other than the battery, the camera is very decent. You've got to fix this ongoing issue!

I took off 2 stars from this review because of the major inconvenience the battery has caused us.

TERRIBLE product and even worse support. In the 12 months we owned this system, we only got about 2 months of use out of it. We had the battery expand twice, on top of many other problems. The whole monitor was replaced twice, and they were all plagued with problems. Customer support was impossible to get a hold of, online support "tickets" were randomly closed without any contact or resolution, and their call back service would NEVER call back. Hours and hours of being on hold with customer service were wasted. Constant problems for 12 months, and after that they just don't care. Take your business to a company that cares about their customers. A company who does not care about their customers has no business making a baby monitor. Do not purchase a product from this company if you care about the safety of your child, because they don't. It's as simple as that.

I am on my fourth lore monitor. Battery keeps swelling and all they are doing is resending me a new monitor. Customer service has told me that this is all they can do until they fix the product. I absolutely love the pan tilt camera and the fact that it hooks to my phone (when that works). All I have done is taken out the battery and keep it on the charger. This makes it almost obsolete since its when I walk away when I need to look at my kids.

Shortly after using this product, the battery started swelling and busted out of the monitor. Lorex was helpful and sent another one out quickly, however the second unit began doing the exact same thing within 2 weeks and eventually just stopped turning on at all. Now, Lorex customer support is forcing me to pay for shipping to return the item before they send out the next replacement. Customer support is impossible to get in touch with and hold times often last for an hour or more. I am really regretting our choice to purchase this brand/item. The Lorex products and customer support have been extremely frustrating and disappointing.

I purchased this model less than a year ago and I thought it would be the best thing but the battery life sucks. It dies within an hour. I have received 2 batteries already and it works great for a little bit but within a month its back to under an hour.

The remote viewing freezes all the time and it has a delay both audio and video.

I've had this monitor for 7 months and was initially very impressed. The features were great, and the picture quality was much better than other video monitors I'd seen (even if the light does have to be very bright in order for the feed to be in colour).

HOWEVER, the battery life went down so quickly! The 4.5 hours of video time advertised was more like 1.5 hours after 2 months. I created a ticket with Lorex and received a replacement monitor very quickly - and had my 4.5 hours of video/monitoring time, and the new monitor also docked more easily into the wifi dock. I thought all was perfect again.

Not one month later, the battery life is shot again. I'm down to 1 hour of video monitoring when off the dock. The Lorex team has told me they want to replace my camera now (not my monitor????).

The feed on the monitor does sometimes flicker and sound will cut out...but only for a few seconds. Still, this worries me as I can't hear my baby cry from my bedroom if the monitor isn't on! I also wish you had the option of displaying the date/time on the monitor as I like to see how long my baby naps for and I tend to look at the monitor for the time.....I get the temperature, wifi signal, battery life, etc...but no time.

Overall, this is a good monitor - I would have given it 5 stars if it had stable battery life and the time feature, 4 stars if the battery issue were fixed. Everything else is very good.

Note: I don't use the iPhone app (even though I wanted to and purchased this wifi model specifically so could use my phone as an additional monitor) as there's not even sound and the feed is unreliable! It takes forever to connect and the feed will often freeze.

We had a Lorex monitor (now discontinued) for our first child and were fairly happy with it but looked at other monitors when it was time to get a new one for baby #2. I did the research and bought the top reviewed and recommended Motorola, Mobi, and another Lorex. I ended up returning them all because I really missed the feature our first Lorex had- the screen stayed on but audio was voice activated. I also wanted the wifi feature because we travel. I'm happy with the iPhone app and wifi features. Unfortunately there must have been a miscommunication with the Lorex team member I spoke with because this monitor has the opposite feature that was so important to me. With this monitor, the screen turns off and the audio stays on. (Or you can keep both on.) The fairly short battery life isn't a big deal because we keep it in the cradle so that it is wifi ready. Overall, a good purchase even if it was somewhat disappointing that it didn't have the feature our previous Lorex had.

We are all fighting the same problem they won't fix. I'm still fighting to get my money back so I can pay for the replacement monitor I had to buy to get this dangerous and useless product out of my home.

Same problems as everyone else, sound went out, they it stopped moving so I could only see 1 spot, then the picture started flickering now the battery is swollen and the camera is hot. Since day 1 this thing has not worked and they offer me a replacement only?! Like I'm going to plug that in to create a new hazard. See the other reviews, the replacements just break again like the 1st ones. Parents please avoid!!!

The Care N Share unit has all the features in the world as I have had it since March. I really like the picture qualify and pan/tilt zoom are awesome. The iPhone app is cool and for those of you who don't know, you can actually run it on your iPad too for a bigger screen.
This product needs IMO reengineering work. The consistency in the reviews I have read is 100% accurate.

1) The battery doesn't hold its charge and back plane buckles
2) The docking is flimsy and not seamless to dock.
3) The iPhone app crashes and always resets image quality
4) Screen flickers and unit gets hot

I recently filed a ticket online 7/4 for a replacement and it only took a week to get a replacement. I was impressed with the turnaround however, I was shipped another camera and not the main unit and console which is what I needed replaced

In summary, I truly like the product and its very easy to use with really great features, but Lorex really needs to take it back to the drawing table for improvements for the issues mentioned above. Hopefully, I can get the main unit replaced soon.

This worked beautifully for the first 5 months that I had it. So well that I convinced my brother to get one for his new little guy. Then the battery started to swell and ruined the video picture, cutting out and freezing. Lorex replaced it and the replacement only lasted 2 months until the same battery swelling problem occurred again. I'm now waiting for Lorex to replace the replacement they sent me. Wonderful product, I just wish they would fix the battery issues so that I don't have to keep returning defective ones.

It works better than any baby monitor that we have had in the past especially ones from summer. This one is a gem and would totally recommend it to anyone!

The cameras are fine, though the light has to be extremely bright for it to diplay in color - I'm talking windows completely open and lamps/lights on. The monitor is so-so. It's VERY difficult to dock, you have to put it on just right and it takes both hands. The wifi works most the time, but often when I log onto the app, the picture freezes (Not a problem with the connections, I've checked). The Battery is AWFUL - We just killed our second one and we've only used it for ~ 4 months. I'm not so sure that the battery connection is going to hold out when we replace it either.

Functionally - The button for the mic is the same joystick used to move the camera... not a good feature. The buttons to play music (unnecessary in my opinion) is right next to the button to turn the volume up and down. The nightlight button (again unecessary) is right next to the screen power button. I can't tell you how often I've hit one when going for the other. Luckily our kids are heavy sleepers.

Pretty sweet. Connects in abt 15 minutes. Even got the grandparents in Florida hooked up in abt 20 minutes with some over the phone instructions. Works great with Android. Not an apple fan so I can't speak to whether or not it works with iOs. The only comment I would have is that it seems like the power cords are kind of flimsy. Seems like they keep falling out. But when you can use your cell phone instead it doesn't really matter. So far, great product.

Last thing, make mounting brackets available for sale.

Love this monitor. We only have one monitor and camera but like that we can add on with additional kiddos. The talk feature is nice and the picture quality is great. I think the temperature setting is off but perhaps there was something I needed to so to calibrate it. Otherwise, user friendly and great purchase, especially for the price point.

Disappointed in the battery life when the monitor is unplugged. Other than that, it's fantastic value.

First monitor stopped working at all. Flashed on and off for a few nights. Than the battery swelled up. Enough to bend the access panel on the back out. It was really hot too. Called customer service. They said they'll send a new one. One month later called back to see where it was. They said "oh it's on back order, it'll be there next week". I think if I hadn't called back I'd never have received a replacement.
Now the second unit has frozen upon me a few times. Had to pull battery out to reset it. Hoping that it last more than the three months the first one did. I expected more from lorex. I could've have prob spent less money and got a more efficient product. It works great when working. Oh and good luck trying to set the phone app up. Didn't happen here. I'm not a IT guy, but seems like it shouldn't be so hard. Don't think I'll be using lorex when I install security cameras on my home.

Very disappointed in this camera. We've owned this less than 10 months. The battery is bulging and continues to get worse. I contacted Lorex by email and they closed the ticket and told me to call, which, I will. Yesterday my father in law was babysitting and was operating the joystick and it broke. He was just using it gently. He's 63 and is always respectful of our stuff. It only connected once over our wifi. Lasted about 3 hours. I don't have any more time & patience for this. Oh yeah, battery life is down to less than 15 minutes. We don't use this thing hard, at all. I thought you couldn't get any worse than the summer camera we had before, but it lasted 4 years compared to this one on it's last leg after 10 months. Hopefully Lorex makes this right.

We love Lorex monitors. This is the second baby monitor we have purchased from them. Two different cameras (one for each of our two children) are synced onto one monitor. We can move the camera with the joystick on the monitor to watch our toddler throughout his room. The only problem we have encounter was the monitor battery. Within the last month it has ceased to hold a charge unless plugged into an outlet and the battery appears to be bursting through the back. We have contacted Lorex support and they are sending a replacement battery and backing within a week. We were very pleased with customer service.

Very large clear screen on monitor that I love however I got this solely for the fact I have had good experience with lorex brand before and I wanted one that I could see my child when I'm away from home. I spent an hour on phone yesterday with tech trying to figure out why that feature was not working and she instructed me it sounds defective as she couldn't get it to work properly either! However it seems very easy to set up and hopefully when I exchange the cradle and monitor it will work as it's supposed too! Only downfall I have that I can't seem to fix is that it switches from one camera to the other every ten seconds or so and drives me nuts!! Can't figure out how to just choose one at a time!

Sadly it seems we end up replacing our baby monitor every time we have a child as most baby monitors have a really loud hum to them, poor video quality, or like the last one just stopped working altogether. This is the very first baby monitor we've had where everything was perfect. ZERO hum (that one makes me VERY happy!) the ability to pan/tilt/zoom from the remote, a small compact yet easy to see screen on a light remote, etc. I can't say enough good things about this baby monitor!

About 3 months after purchasing this monitor, the battery in the monitor stopped holding a charge and we had to have the cradle plugged in at all times. 2 months later, both the camera and cradle stopped working. Since it was still under the 1-year warranty, we contacted Lorax to replace it. After two calls to Lorax (first technical support, then to customer service) they agreed to send us a replacement unit. However, it took multiple additional follow up calls (which meant HOURS spent on hold -average wait time to talk to customer service was about a half hour) and over a MONTH for Lorax to actually send us the replacement. They kept telling us that our model was out of stock but would ship at the end of whichever week it was (but it would not come and we would have to call again to follow up each week). We asked for a comparable model that was in stock, but they refused. When we asked to speak to the manager, the customer service rep twice said he was transferring me, only to disconnect the call. All the while we were without a monitor for our 5 month old.

We finally did get the replacement about a month ago, and it is working fine. But I'm nervous that it will stop working, too, and then I will have to deal with the extremely poor Lorax customer service again.

This product is nice (when it works), but I have been very disappointed with Lorax as a company. It definitely felt like they were making it so hard to get the unit replaced under the warranty, that I would just give up trying and go buy something else.

This is the first review I have ever written, and the only reason I'm writing it is because my warranty will be extended to 2 years instead of 1, and I'm nervous the replacement monitor will stop working like the first one. Otherwise I would not be wasting any more of my time.

This monitor works well! The soothing sounds are not the best quality but the ability to speak to the baby through the monitor is nice. The swivel of the camera (controlled from the monitor) is nice and helps to monitor the whole room from one location. One issue which I have found easily resolves is the monitor does need resetting from time to time. I have only experienced the issue after pulling it off the charger. When it is pulled off the charger it will not turn on. I reset the unit via the reset button in back of the unit and it starts right up. I have had the unit for approximately 4 months and it has done this "hiccup" twice. Other than that small issue it works well.

We chose this monitor when we had our second child. We previously had the popular Motorola camera and wanted a new camera with all the same great features, but with better battery life and better night vision. This camera FAR exceeded our expectations. We didn't know that a camera could have such great night vision. The picture quality is amazing and you can even zoom in with night vision and still see clearly. The battery save mode allows you use the monitor for a long period of time without having to charge it. And it's got the temperature monitor, which we love. We can easily monitor our two children with the additional camera. Great baby monitor with a great price!!

I have a love/hate relationship with this monitor and my husband has a love/live relationship. I originally bought the lorex-baby (white monitor) and after less than 2 months the battery puffed up and it stopped working. Since the good outweighed the bad I ended up reordering another one and now have the lorex with the black monitor. The white monitor displayed the temperature which I lived and was useful to learn that my nursery is the hottest room in a warm day and the coldest on a cool day. I'm looking into trying to regulate the temp now but that's a different story. The white monitor also had nature sounds but they need some work. I couldn't figure out how to get it to play one sound and instead it kept cycling through all 5 sounds. Also, having the camera play the sound and also act as a microphone means you hear the sounds louder than the baby which is annoying. On the first night of using the sound it "broke" the monitor and it ended up transmitting zero sounds from the nursery which scarred me since it was the second night having my preemie home from the hospital. I wanted to return it but my husband figured out that if we didn't play the sounds then it worked just fine. Crisis averted. The new black monitor doesn't have the nature sounds (no problem) and it doesn't have the temperature displayed which I will miss. One bonus however is that it displays the time which is great in the middle of the night. I hated having to fumble for my phone to check the time with the original. The biggest selling point and the reason why my husband loves this monitor is the wifi. He loves getting to check in during the day. While there are other wifi options, this was the only traditional monitor I could find that also had wifi. I didn't want to have to log in during the night to check on my babies. Having a monitor that is on is key. Now if only I could figure out how to turn it off we'd be in business.

This product has everything I wanted in a video baby monitor plus the added convenience of a WiFi connection if you so choose. Don't waste your money on the ones in store when this product does the job but even better with more features.

Product works most of the time. I got this unit because it has WIFI capabilities, but sometimes, the app freezes or doesn't connect. The clarity is pretty good, but after a few months, the battery on the monitor started dying slowly, and eventually only lasted 5 minutes on a full charge. The battery in the monitor expanded, and eventually pushed out the battery cover. Don't know why it happens, but looks like a poor design or poor choice of material by the company. Overall, I would not get this unit again, but I am stuck with it for now, and am waiting to get my monitor back, since it is still under warranty. For the amount of money spent on this unit, I would have expected more from it.

I bought this video monitor after our other one broke. I bought it primarily because it had the wifi feature as well as the ability to watch our baby from our iPhones and iPads in addition to the handheld monitor. Generally, I like the monitor, but I have a few issues with it.

The first issue is that whenever we lose power and then gain it back, I have to go in his room to manually turn the camera on again because it doesn't do it automatically. This is a pain. It should have a power switch that remains on in case of a power outage. I also feel that the power button should not be illuminated because it will keep a baby up if he/she is sensitive to light.

The second issue I have is that I could not connect the camera to our router (it is an Apple AirPort Extreme). The instructions for connections were almost too simplified, so I still have not found a solution.

The camera imaging is fine, as is the reception range.

Overall, it is decent, but could be better.

I purchased this baby monitor and compared it directly to the Summer Baby Link? WiFi monitor. I quickly returned the Summer Baby Link monitor because of the Lorex 's superior colour and internet streaming ability. I had one dead power supply which came with an extra camera and they replaced it within a week of reporting the problem. I'm very satisfied with the product and technical support.

Hi, I am highly disappointed with this item. The lcd monitor loses its charge after 5 minutes of being off the charger. It doesn't pick up color very well and the temperature gauge is removed from this model which I find useful. I also don't like the joy stick. The screen is a good size and the camera is great at motion traction. I ended up getting the Summer Infant Baby Touch WiFi Video Monitor and Internet Viewing System, although not perfect it does the job.

We are very happy with our new baby monitor. We had a component break early on, but customer service was excellent and they shipped us a new one right away. We have had several different brands of baby monitors over the last 5 years, and the picture and sound quality of this monitor is the best of them all.

We purchased this monitor after spending hours and hours searching and reading reviews for our first child. Baby hasn't arrived yet, so other than a few test runs we haven't used it full time yet. I have found that the range is good for my home of approximately 3000 sq ft. The motion tracking is cool. I've had the camera set up pointed towards the door to the nursery and it will pick you up and track as you move through the room. It can lose track of you if you are moving quickly but looks like it should serve its purpose. I haven't set up to monitor over the internet yet, but that was an attractive feature for us to be able to check the cameras from anywhere with our iPhones or iPads. I am satisfied so far and may purchased a second fixed camera to monitor the crib and leave the included camera set up to monitor the room so I can keep track of baby once he starts to get mobile.

Product looked great. But the battery expanded within the monitor and broke the cover. Currently being sent back for warranty work. Have a 2,300 square foot ranch and a lot of times says out of range from my cameras to the monitor. Had to often reset the monitor because it would freeze. When it works it works nice. Love the remote pan/tilt and intercom function.

Great unit with some limitations you need to know: I'm a tech savvy and I played with all the camera's bells and whistles here are my findings: Cheaper to buy on this website with some promo coupons. It had free shipping when I bought it. Ended up paying 179$CAD (was on sale at 199 + 15% discount + free shipping) which is awesome. Be ready to wait a little bit for it to arrive though (5 biz days), free shipping comes at a cost: wait. Setup is pretty straight forward, don't forget to change the camera password if you use the app on the smartphone because default password is 000000. You connect to it via a unique ID that is quite long and would be difficult to guess but that's just smart practice. Everything (easy setup, picture quality, monitor, sound, pan and tilt, instruction manual etc) works well as long as you don't try to check your camera with a smartphone (more on this later) It has the auto shutoff screen (power save mode they call it) and turns back on when it detects movement and back off again after a few sec. You can't disable motion detection or at least I didn't find how just yet. The big "Yay!" for me was to be able to use an app on my smartphone to connect to the camera via internet. This part works. The part that doesn't work and that's a bummer is that if your monitor at home is on powersave mode (so techincally, the monitor is off) and you connect to it via the smartphone, it turns on. You will not be able to see the camera if the monitor is powered off completely, you are seeing what the monitor sees. The problem is that once you're done checking the camera and leave the app, the monitor at home WILL STAY ON until you get home to enable powersave mode again. This is a big flaw in my opinion and Tech support basically told me that the "operating system" in this unit was limited and did not have that function to keep the powersave mode enabled once you're done with the app... What kind of design is that. You are gonna burn your monitor in no time! So tech support told me I would need a more capable system to do what I want to do... You may expect resolution problems with the app as well. It will connect to the camera with, what seems to me, the default medium quality (320x240 resolution, camera is capable of 640x480 at max res). You can change the resolution to "max" within the app but I've found that 80% of the time, it goes back to medium the next time. At first I thought that the connection was function of the internet speed but my internet at home is way above the minimum speeds for the max resolution to work so I'm calling BS. That's a typical app programing bug. Tech support does not share my opinion, they asked me to clear the cache, un install, re install and yada yada... To no avail. I may be harsh with those flaws but in reality, the gadget does what it is supposed to do in local mode. I think they just enabled the online feature because they technically could but did not spend a whole lot of time testing it thoroughly. Online tech support here is actually quite fast. Mind you, their solutions are everything but solutions but at least I had replies.

For the money spent on this product our (much) less expensive monitor is much more usable. The monitor freezes at least once a night, making it useless. To reset it you have to wait for the battery to die, which isn't quick. When it does work don't use the 'soothing' music as the squaking sea gulls wake me and my baby up every time. There's no way to pick just one song, this lovely product rotates through guaranteeing that as soon as your baby is just about asleep, new noises wake them right back up. We used this for a week and threw it out after discovering returning it would be shipping at our expense. The only this we liked was the clear night time picture, but it will freeze so don't trust that night vision clarity.

It's a good product, except for the joystick on the monitor. It broke with 2 months of use. Now I can't use the pan function, and I choose this baby monitor because of the pan and zoom.

I received this monitor as a gift for my newborn daughter. Despite this products many bells and whistles it is poorly made. First off, the battery only lasts for 3 hours. Secondly, the camera stopped working only 3 and a half months after installation. Around the same time the purple joystick on the monitor broke off. And last, you can see but you can't hear when viewing this product from an Ipad or similar device. I would think twice about buying this product. Don't be fooled by all of the fancy things that it does if it doesn't work properly and falls apart to start with. As I had mentioned, this product was a gift. Registration alone doesn't insure warranty on this product. I had to retrieve the receipt from the person who gave it to me. So think twice before buying this for someone.

High quality product. Great video and audio quality. Silent Pan-Tilt-Zoom with amazing motion tracking.

If you want true 1080p HD hook up a true HD camera. For seeing and monitoring your baby this is more than adequate.

Very happy with it.

Overall I like the monitor, but have had issues with the docking station as well as the cover of the battery. The docking station is hard to attach and comes off easily causing the screen to go haywire. Also , the cover of the battery doesn't fit well. Ours keeps buldging and now one of the tabs has broken.

WE LOVE our Care and Share. As a busy mom with 3 kids under 5, we knew that we needed to invest in a high quality system. What I love most, is that this is expandable and we will not only be able to monitor the baby, but the preschoolers as well. As they grow, I will use the system to continue to monitor them as they play and grow somewhat independent. Set up was quick and easy. It did take me a little bit (5 minutes) to figure out how to be able to view on my phone as all I could get initially was a black screen.

The monitor worked well for a few weeks, but now the battery only lasts 20 minutes off the charger. The "OK" button, which is essentially depressing the Pan knob no longer works.

Now it's no longer covered by warranty?!

I purchased this monitor so that I can monitor my daughter both at home using the handheld monitor and in the office using my Iphone. This was the only monitor I found that could do both at an affordable price. It's easy to set it up. You can monitor it with multiple Iphones at the same time, which is great. You can even move the camera with the Iphone app. The Iphone app is not very stable when your phone's or monitor's internet connection is slow (less than 1MB/sec upload speed for the monitor or 1MB/sec download speed for the Iphone). I use the monitor with a reduced video quality which makes the the app much more stable. Even with the reduced video quality, it still has a good video. I am also pleasantly surprised that you can connect to your camera using a web address. I found this functionality when I accessed my online Lorex account. However, I haven't tested this functionality yet. One thing I wish this monitor had was a louder sound. It's still acceptable but not impressive. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and I already recommended it to my friends.

It's the best video monitor you can get from what I can tell and it seems to work great. My only gripe is you can only view it on a phone or tablet when the at home monitor is on the dock. Although I guess that is a good thing, because if you give access to family members for viewing, you can decide when they can view the baby or when they can't.

My husband and I did a lot of research when searching for a new camera/monitor. This had great reviews and had everything plus more that we were looking for. Unfortunately it has been nothing but a major disappointment. We've had it for 3 weeks and the sound suddenly stopped working. It also does not hold charge at all. I have called customer service and they're horrible. The first time I called, the guy didn't even know what product I was talking about. I also filled out a ticket which did nothing and lastly I waited to talk to someone today for 90 minutes and had to hang up because I was sick of waiting. The recording says, "your call is important to us." Ridiculous. I will be returning this for a full refund. While it may be a defective monitor, I have been unable to hear my 2 year old and newborn for weeks and they could care less. My review: don't buy!!

This is our second camera. The first one didnt have good sound and our child is disabled so its important to hear her. Customer service was good about replacing in a timely mannor, however with this new camera, we have had less than a week and the joy stick has already broken off. We will see how they respond to this new issue. I do have to say, however, that the camera itself seems to work much better than the last monitor. Hopefully we can get one thats not a lemon cuz I really like their product.

Awsome camera works perfectly the picture is awsome the ability to remotely view through my iPhone is great my only problem with this camera is that the lullaby feature cycles through all five songs every minute there is no way to play only one song witch is annoying but it's a small price to pay for all the positive aspects of this camera thanks lorex

Pros: Easy to set up Pan,tilt, zoom with motion detection Night vision is just ok Can be used with or without Internet Has an app Talk to baby feature Temp monitor Cons: Absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Expect extremely long wait times and foreign speaking people The app is just ok. There is a lag time. You can move the camera but you can't talk that I have figured out. I also don't like how the parent monitor has to be on the cradle for the app to work. Using the app also disables the buttons on the monitor while the app is being used and they is inconvenient

Product is pretty good. Works fine as I expected. But there are some issues that makes this product imperfect. 1. Screen ratio proportions are wrong. Camera is 4:3 (640x480px) and the monitor has not the same ratio screen. Its screen is much wider than camera, and picture is not proportionally resided and this picture is stretched and unproportional. 2. WiFi cradle, when working is distruptng connnection between monitor (inserted in cradle) and camera - it loses connection sometimes. 3. There is one oversight in power saving mode. When sound activates a monitor, then it turns into "much louder" mode (microphone is very sensitive) and video turns on. After a while (several dozen seconds) monitor turn off to save energy. Same situation is when I turnn video on manually (button on the top of the monitor) - it becomes much more sensitive. But a probem is when I turn video OFF manually. Then, very often (maybe always) a microphone doesn't turn of its sensitive mode. So the monitor appears to hum. Overall its a good product, but I believe there would be some firmware actualization. It would be great to have one.

We just installed this monitor last night and used it for the first time, and so far we love it. The picture is very clear, with great zoom, and the pan/tilt is very handy. The install was easy, and both the camera and the handheld seem well constructed. I have two negatives- The battery on the camera unit and the cord length on the AC adapter. First, we knew the battery life on the camera was only eight hours and purchased it anyway, so it's really not a big deal. However, you'd think if you are going to give it batter capability you'd make sure the battery could last through the night. Most babies sleep around twelve hours at night, so the battery on the camera is essentially useless. The other issue is the AC adapter cord. I didn't measure it, but I would guess it's about five feet long. So, unless you plan to mount the camera directly above an outlet you'll be looking at an extension cord. I'm currently searching for an extender that fits this voltage adapter, or I might just splice the cord myself. I don't really like the idea of having an extension cord in the baby's room. Most baby monitors come with extremely long cords to prevent this problem.

This monitor was what we were waiting for. It pretty much lives up to the hype. The camera pans and tilts really well. I can use it with my smart phone via an app, and the night vision is pretty good. The range is good, sometimes it does need to be paired. The pairing isn't difficult, but it did require a read through of the manual. The video capture and playback are really fun, and the voice from the camera is pretty realistic. That being said we did have a few problems, one was that the system has crashed a few times and has required a soft reset. Another minor issue is that that lullabies seem to only rotate, why can't we pick one lullaby and keep it there? One other major issue we had, and this issue is probably something that you will find with other cameras. It was that the camera emits a few red LED lights and those lights are freaky. Needless to say our daughter was spooked, and demanded that we take the camera out of her room. She is two, we are going to try to mount it in another spot so that she can't see it directly from her bed.

I held out buying a new baby monitor until this one was released because I liked the fact that it was an RF signal between the monitor and the camera, but there was also an option to view remotely via WiFi on an iPhone. This monitor fulfilled both of these perfectly. The RF signal is much more reliable than WiFi, which means that through the night, I don't have to worry about missing either of the babies waking up or having issues. But any other time, I can fire up the iphone and monitor, whether I'm outside or out to dinner with a babysitter staying at home. The picture is beautiful. I'm sure there may be better definition pictures on other monitors, but it's big and clear and that's all I need from a baby monitor. It has 2 way voice, a zoom option and displays the temperature, all more useful than I thought they would be. Easy to set up, and easy to use. Honestly, couldn't be more excited for this monitor after our previous, cheaper video monitor for baby #1. I have the camera with the ability to pan, and have no complaints about this either.

(One note: If the panning seems like it isn't working, check to make sure that you aren't zoomed in. That was about 10 frustrating, troubleshooting minutes of my life I won't get back)

First time ever writing a review. This monitor is worth it, and since it is new, I'd thought it might be helpful for those afraid to take a chance.
