I am so happy with this device. Right out of the box, no fuss no muss. I am only saddened that it is no longer available on the Lorex Website. I am told they no longer making these so now I won't be able to get one for my sister who is expecting in Dec.

great product, stopped working

I love the product, great clear picture/night vision and sound. The monitor stopped connecting to the camera after about 6 months. The unit was still under warranty. After a long wait time the person I talked to was very helpful and is sending another unit. I haven't received it yet, but will be very happy if the new unit works as well as the first one did initially.

Frustrated

I originally had the Care N Share which malfunctioned and so I was sent the Sweet Peep in its place. When a camera malfunctioned, they shipped me a new one free of charge. I was under warranty still. Though the customer service call back time is very long (obviously busy), they did call back and when I wrote a frustrated review, I was helped asap through email which worked perfect for me. This is a good product. The cameras don't tilt down very far so you will want to hang them on wall to get more viewing areas. I appreciate the help that I received and am now content.

We haven't used this monitor yet as our baby hasn't arrived, but the picture appears very clear and the monitor seems intuitive to use. It includes many features for the price, including voice activation, which was a must-have for us.

Worked well for a few months, however, recently the night vision stopped working (in contact regarding a replacement). The thermostat is not dependable at all, its close to 10 degrees too high. The range isn't too great unless you are a few feet from the room.

Thank you for your feedback. We were happy to assist you with your warranty replacement and hope everything is working well now.

The monitor comes out of the box ready to use. Just charge the monitor, plug it in and you're ready to go! It's so easy to use and is friendly to anyone that picks it up for the first time.

Excellent product. Video is clear and switches to night vision setting automatically. Audio is very clear. The temperature setting has come in handy. The only change I would like to see is the removal of the lullaby music button as a main button...I have accidentally pushed this trying to access the right arrow function (they share the same button) which has woken the baby.

Realistically, with no other electronics on around it, the baby monitor has a dependable range of about 10 feet (only through 1 dry wall) and a 90% connected range of about 20 feet. Anything beyond that is dodgy at best. The thermometer on my unit tends to jump by 5 degree increments and is always at least 10 degrees high. The night vision feature on my camera died after a few months, rendering the baby monitor useless for me. I contacted tech support twice by email, both times they neither addressed the problem, nor waited for a response before they closed my claim ticket. I then called support and after an hour of waiting, did get an approval for a replacement, but it's now been a month and they still haven't shipped it. I could not be less impressed with the product and service. And before I get the automated response from Lorex, Yes, I did contact customer support, and it didn't help.

Thank you for your feedback. Our apologies for the delay with your replacement. We hope your replacement is working well.

I absolutely love this monitor. Got it because I wasn't happy with the monitor I've had for two years already. Has great panning abilities which will help when baby #2 comes and shares a room with toddler. Also I'm loving the VIX option which makes sure that us parents get a good night sleep without having to worry about every little sigh or sheet rustle. Highly recommend this monitor and it's a very reasonable price. Easy set up - just plug in and go. Only slight downside is that the picture quality during times like sunrise and twilight is not great. Guess it's too light for night vision but the picture is pretty dark. Also the range is not good.

We have had this monitor for just over 2 months and now it is not working properly,. There are lines going across the screen, it no longer works at night, and the clarity is no longer there. The camera is not in the sunlight and is mounted on a wall. It is very disappointing that after only 2 months of having this monitor and also finally buying a video monitor and this is what happens.

We're sorry to hear your unit is malfunctioning. Our products come with a 1 year warranty, please contact our technical support team for assistance at 1-877-755-6739. Thank you.

Main reason I bought this product was to be able to see my baby at night moving around without having to go in his room. The night vision doesn't work unless my hand is directly in front of the camera. I'm not sure if I got a bad one but I'm not happy with it.

We had one the originals and loved it. So we had to go to the sweet peek. We have not been happy with it at all. We had a monitor go out and that was a real hassle to get it replaced. No one would call us back. Then after we got the replacement it barely works half the time. Let alone it will not get rid of any previous cameras attached to it. And the tech support really had a hard time to just get any answer.

Will not be buying lorex baby monitorshower again.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any difficulty you experienced and we were happy to get this resolved for you.

This monitor is great. I love the VOX mode that saves the battery and turns on when my baby cries. The camera is good, clear picture and you can pan, tilt & zoom. I like being able to talk to the baby through the monitor or play lullabies. All this and at a price much cheaper than most other monitors.

Works great, we love it! The price was right for all the features this monitor provides. I was worried about set up as I have other cameras that have required set up using a computer but this just plugs in and it's ready to use, so simple.

I got this product on sale, I give this monitor 3 stars because at that price point it was good value. At the regular $139.99, I'd say the unit is closer to 2 stars.

I bought this unit because our audio-only Philips died. A lot of the things I wish this unit had stems from the things the Philips had that I liked. For instance, at the lowest volume the parent unit on this monitor is VERY loud. So, the unit goes from no sound to very loud and only louder from there. I imagine at the maximum volume, it basically goes to 11.

There are 5 lullabies, but there is no option for them to play in sequence one after another. Whichever you pick is the one that will play on repeat until to turn it off (manually) or switch to another (manually). Combined with the extremely loud speaker, it makes it difficult to (for example) watch a movie at a low volume so as not to wake up the child because all you'll hear is Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.

Finally, the lullabies don't turn off on their own after a period of time, which would be a definite nice-to-have.

In terms of pros - definitely like the video capability, definitely like the ability to move the camera up/down and left/right remotely (becomes especially handy for children who are mobile and are not down with the concept of daily naps).

Unfortunately, for me, the cons rather overshadow the pros, but given that I paid about 1/3 of the normal price, what I got is decent value.

Our old monitor was dying quickly. I spent a week researching baby monitors and there just arent any that have good reviews below the $200 range. I chanced upon these sweet peep monitors and could not be happier. They are super nice esp compared to the motorola lower end monitors. They can do everything you would ever need and more. The resolution is not smart phone quality but it is much better than the motorola low end and is plenty good enough for what is needed. Everything feels very well built and the monitor battery lasts forever. We used it all night and in the morning it was still at full bars. Thank you Lorex for the fantastic product.

I purchased the Sweetpeep BB2415 after reading a compelling review that indicated this monitor was great value for money for a video monitor, and all in all had all the features I wanted, including the ability to speak to the baby through the monitor. I was pleased with the product from the get-go; it's not a high-end monitor, but that's fine by us. We were happy with the monitor until it suddenly came unpaired with the base unit and I couldn't get a picture or signal on the handset anymore. Customer service was great however and they shipped me a replacement quickly, which has been working fine since it arrived - hopefully this will continue! I'm very happy with this monitor; just hope it will be reliable this time.

Owned for over a year...finally decided it's time to review. After a few weeks, the range went from 40' (way below promised distance) to barely worked 10' from child's bedroom. Continued to use anyways. Temperature gauge stopped working within a month. Monitor turned nasty color of yellow and blue....basically impossible to see anything within first four months of ownership.
I DO NOT recommend this item. Very disappointed

I really like our Lorex monitor. I feel like the quality and the cost far exceeds what you will get from a brand like Summer Infant. The picture and sound is clear and everything works exactly as described. I am having an issue with the battery on the receiving no longer holding a charge, but the customer service team is working with me to get a replacement.

We have the older model, the 2450. We really liked it, we had mulitple cameras and it scanned between them and we were able to have white noise machines on in the rooms and the auto mute still worked and only kicked on when the kids actually made noises. The video was good as well, from about 3 ft in 1 room and 6 ft in another. However, after 14 months (just after the 1 year warranty) the sound completely stopped working. Monitors aren't very useful without any sound, I'm currently in contact with Lorex support on the issue to see if I can get it resolved or a replacement sent out.

My wife and I have been very pleased with the Lorex baby monitor that we purchased. We previously owned a lesser (Lorex) model, and our only concern with it was the poor battery life of the monitor, which often would die within an hour of being fully charged. With this product, we routinely get 7+ hours, and even more if we turn off the video and simply use the audio. Nice product, Lorex! Keep up the good work.

I have had this monitor for about a week now. I purchased it because of the dual camera;s. I have had summer infant for about 2 years. I like this monitor better because of all the additonal features. I like that you can two-way talk. I dont like the lullably choices for songs. They are more like white noises and not music. I like how you can see up to 4 camera?s at once. I don?t think the picture quality is the best compared to summer infant. It is very loud and doesn?t hold a charge. All in all for what we paid for a monitor with 2 cameras I am satisfied. I will be calling to see if we can make it compatible with the Iphone.

I never could have seen all that I have seen without my baby monitor. Being able to check in on him without opening his door and possibly waking him has been wonderful. I also get to see him when he is trying to get to sleep. He can play in his play area safely and I can run to the batheoom and still have my eyes on him. I am so happy that I bought a lorex baby monitor system.

I absolutely love our system. I don't know why I waited until the 4th child. I have 3 cameras in 3 of their rooms and it has been so helpful especially having a two story house. I love being able to talk to them through and them back to me. It gave me great peace with our newborn always being able to see her in her crib.

We registered for this monitor because we needed two cameras and lived that we could pan and tilt the camera remotely. This comes in handy when my 4yo plays in her room, we can move the camera to make sure she's not getting into something she shouldn't. After about 8 months the battery started to die. We would leave it on the charger overnight and turn it off and take off the base in the morning. Once we'd go to use it again at night, after only 15 minutes or would say to charge it. Luckily we were under warranty and lorex replaced the monitor with no problems. Hopefully it was a one time thing and won't happen again. Overall we do like this monitor and have been pleased, battery issue aside.

Does the job!

We ordered this monitor system when our other device broke on us and by far from our summer hand monitor system this one is far better! We like the bonus features this device has like; room temperature monitoring, remote music, wireless camera with Skype, capture video with a micro ad card that was included a plus, and the ability to expand with more cameras if needed up to four and I did not get that with my summer! The only thing I can say is a con I have is its sensitivity to sound when trying to hear your child. I have noticed I have to but the volume all the way up to hear my child at night when he sleeps but it picks up the sound of back ground noise and the tv real good , which should be the other way around! But overall we love this product and all of its featues it's made life a little bit more easier!

The camera/monitor has a lot of useful features such as night vision, a night light, being able to talk to your baby and the ability to play music for them. The Skype capability works pretty well. It cut out after a minute for us, but it was probably our Internet connection. We're also interested in buying a second camera for our next kid. Overall, I would recommend this product.

Unit has plusses - neat features, good enough picture, OK range. Biggest negative is service. Requested help on a problem the unit is having (continues to power up repeatedly) and it took more than a week to be told nothing that would help. Construction of monitor is not as good as I expected (buttons are not accurate, etc.) Poor speaker is on wrong side of monitor, cant' hear and watch at the same time. If this is the norm, I won't be buying my new home security/camera system from Lorex.

Camera seems to blink repeatedly
To whom it may concern, I purchased this device on Sept. 27th from Amazon.com. I've only been using it for about a month now and I have noticed that the display sometimes blink repeatedly. I have to use the joystick to move the camera to get the blinking to stop. It can be somewhat disturbing at night when it is behaving like a disco light. I would like to get this issues corrected. I bought this unit because of it's ability to expand with additional cameras. I am ready to move my little one into his own room at which point I would like to purchase additional cameras. I am reluctant to do so until the blinking issue is resolved.

The daytime color quality is poor as help. I was expecting a picture quality similar to the one found one the site. It doesn't come close, in my opinion.

The product works well and the handheld monitor quality is good but not great. Low light works well and the sound feature is good. My issues are with setting it up for viewing online through Skype. Excellent monitor! I have seen other monitors from other parents and was never impressed with the quality of the picture. This one has great picture! I can see clearly not fuzzy. The reception is great. I love that you can hang it on the wall which was my primary reason for purchasing it and I do not know why more companies do not manufacture their products for hanging. It is compact, and I would highly recommend it. The sound quality is excellent, the temperature is a nice feature and the two way talk which I have not used yet but might as she gets older. This is an amazing product. We purchased this monitor after a family member told us how good it was. I can honestly say that it has exceeded our expectations. We love some of its features, like: temperature of the room, infra red, the possibility to talk to the baby. In our setup, we can see our baby even if we are 100 feet from her.

We love/hate this monitor. It is SUCH a great picture! We can see my children VERY well. And when the sound is activated (when the children are loud enough) we can hear them clearly. HOWEVER, I can't seem to turn off the auto-mute. That means, I don't hear my kids until they make a LOUD sound. Soooo no busting them during their midnight chat-fests in their shared bedroom. ;) It also means, they have to be coughing pretty hard for me to hear that as well, and with an asthmatic child, that is almost dangerous. :/

Also, after about 10 months, the handset lost the ability to charge. :( It still works, but must be plugged in constantly to work. Once we unplug it, it immediately flashes the low battery warning, and dies soon after. I have contacted Lorex to see what can be done, and from prior experience with another Lorex monitor we've owned in the past, I'm confident they will find a satisfactory solution. I really like and trust this company and hope to someday fit my house and property with their surveillance products.

That all said, one of my favorite features is the talk-back feature. No, it doesn't alert me when my kids are talking back at me (though that would be awesome!). ;) But what it does, is allows me to tell my kids to get dressed, clean up their toys, or get back in bed! LOVE!

Being a new mother, I am always apprehensive about letting my newest baby sleep anywhere but by my side but now with the new Lorax monitoring system I can easily peek in on my wee one and make sure that he is always doing just fine without having to have him in the same room with me I quite love it. And with how sensitive the mic is on the monitor I can hear every tiny Peep he makes it makes me feel more peaceful and put my mind at ease.

Great Monitor.

Pros:
Basic features easy to use

Cons:
Setting up video over internet is challenging, video could be higher quality for the price, battery on monitor dies fast. night vision doesn't work well if camera is tilted max up/down.

Great monitor

This is our 2nd one. Works well. I like that we can add cameras and use the same monitor. Will be helpful if we have more kids. Good picture. Easy to use

I was looking for a decent Home Security System for my Apt-House. I live in a nice neighborhood. However like anywhere nice in the USA there are exceptions and my complex is no different. Some neighbors are strange, malicious and outright nasty. This characteristic is passed down from adult to their children. So, a security system was in order. The Lorex wireless system is easy to operate, place and use. My wife secured the Skype account in a matter of minutes. I only had it two days now, but I love it. I plan on adding two additional cameras. Best buy for the money, I researched this for about 3 weeks before I ordered it, it was an excellent decision.

I bought this system so I could see who was as the front and back door because the view is obstructed from the door viewer. I am lovinging it! I just need to figure out how to get the mac # so I can see them remotely.

I am a researcher using this baby monitor to film participants surreptitiously during a study. The camera and monitor work well. My only issue with the product is that the video quality is not as high as I would have liked. But, I realize that the quality serves the purpose intended of it (to monitor a baby). Overall, a nice and relatively affordable product.

We purchased this to monitor my 91 year old mother as she navigates through her kitchen. She has an apartment in our lower level. Mom had fallen a couple of times and was unable to call out loud enough for us to hear her.

The camera has an alarm that goes off to alert us when there is a loud noise in the kitchen. The two way communication is a plus. We can ask if she is getting up for the day, or needs assistance with anything.

We keep the monitor on our nightstand, so it is great to be able to turn the video off (which is bright) and still be able to hear the audio if she needs help.

The night vision on this camera is very clear. The kitchen floor is easily visible even when no lights are on in the room. I am totally satisfied with this monitor.

An unexpected plus, was being able to monitor the whereabouts of our little dog, as she usually ends up in my parents kitchen looking for handouts! I would recommend this to a friend!

The visual coverage and night vision is great but the audio is very distorted. A good overall value if audio isn't the prime issue.

This system doesn't leave you wanting anything. It is a great product with great features. Night vision is great. It has a setting where you can talk to baby and also plays music. The camera is small and easily adjusts to many angles. It's durable (have dropped it a few times). If I had to criticize one thing it would be that the batter doesn't last long on it. But we love it. We're expecting our second child soon and will be purchasing an additional camera for the new nursery. This monitor lets you display multiple rooms so that is perfect!

After reviewing several video monitors this one had the best reviews for what we were looking for in a monitor. I liked it was a security company who sold baby monitors. The only downside is the picture on the monitor as we thought it would be a better color. Other than that we are very pleased.

I bought this monitor for my wife, she is always worried about the baby. This monitor allows you to see, hear, and talk to your baby anywhere in the house. Also it has built in music to play to baby. Adding the sd card allows for recording video and sending to friends. I would recommend this to a friend!

I was kind of nervous spending over $100 on a monitor since my one with my first child ended up messing up the video in less than six months so I didn't want to buy another 'cheap' one like it. So this was great since it wasn't ridiculously expensive but it wasn't so cheap I felt it'd break on me quickly. Thankfully this was a very smart buy. Have never had any problems with it and I love that it's quiet until my child begins to cry. I have always loved 'video' monitors cause it gives the added reassurance if physically 'seeing' your child which helps especially when they roll to the very corner of the crib or get a arm or leg out there (happened once before I bought the breathable bumper). I loved that I could prop it up in whatever room I was in instead of the ones that clip on your waist that I always ended up dropping when I was cleaning or would never look at cause it wasn't in sight. The picture is clear and I loved the talk feature where I could talk to him on my way in through the monitor to help reassure him I was coming. It has so many features for the sd card to record and stream live as well and the video monitor on his end has a little nightlight at the top which was great when entering his room to see but not have a bright light on. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

Having the sound is always nice, but the screen is so helpful. When I didn't have a screen I was already running to the room immediately to make sure everything was okay. But being able to have a visual is much better and makes me more at ease until I get into the room.

I like this product. I only have few suggestions, first more ways to attach the item, right now where I have it is temporary. It will not go to it's permant location until the baby it bigger. Also I like the screen but I would like a bigger one. Other then that this is a great item thank you.

Having issues

From the great reviews I decided to purchase this product. It started out fine but now we are noticing that it does not notify us of the "battery requires Charging" alert. We only had it for 2 weeks. Also the reception after 3 levels are not so good. From the top floor to the basement, we can barely hear our child. Maybe we got a single lemon. We will return it and see if we have issues again. I'll keep you posted. Other than that, everything else seems to be up to standard. Chris

Happy and Sad

Own 2, love 1. We bought the first of these monitors at a Costco warehouse and we love it! Works great, no issues, very pleased. Unfortunately we've purchased a second one for another house on Costco.ca and the volume is not working properly. Even with the automute feature off it seems to be "auto fading" for lack of a better word. Similar to another review I can't hear the baby unless she actually cries out as apposed to cooing or talking.

Great Video Monitor

Pros: easy to set up, great video even in the dark, good reception

Cons: sound not great

We purchased this to keep an eye on our toddler who now sleeps in a bed. Couldn't be happier with the video monitor. The picture, even the dark, is great and the reception in our two story house is quite good (except for when my husband gets to close the metal rods in his leg interfere with it).

Worked right out of the box. It's unfortunate that it won't work with Skype with my mac but I knew that before I bought it so that wasn't a surprise.

The audio isn't great. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the sound only really comes on when there is loud sound. Since we already have a sound monitor we just use it instead.

Very happy

Pros: great features

Cons: battery life is a little short recharge daily

We are very happy with the unit. video and sound quality is great with our unit. we have it really close to our baby. perhaps distance is an issue as it looks like the mic is pretty tiny. We have already recorded some very precious videos that we couldn't have gotten any other way.

The search is over

we went from a regular monitor to a video monitor and I was psyched but it was a second hand video monitor that was sketchy and older so we decided to get a new one. After a week of researching we finally found this one. Normally I wouldn't have looked twice considering the price but we actually got it from amazon for 179.00 and paid 3.99 ship to have it the very next day and ere were tons of reviews on there. This monitor works great. U can play music in the room by pushing a button on the part the parent holds it comes with easy instructions, a DVD and wall mountings. There is volume control, you can skype to see it on ur laptop or iPad and u can even hold a button n talk into it like an intercom, and it comes with a memory card to record well at least the one from amazon did. Hope this helps!

Works for us!

We use this for monitoring our baby and it has not failed us yet. Love the songs you can play remotely as it puts him back to sleep after a startle. The recording video quality is grainy but the picture and sound are great!

Best Baby Monitor!

Pros: Has everything!!

Cons: My husband likes to play with all it's features!

First let me say that I very rarely write any reviews. I'm always the sceptic. This Lorex camera is hands down the best camera on the market. It is my 4th monitor in 3 years. This has every feature you could want and more. I am a very light sleeper so I had problems with other cameras being too sensitive or not turning the volume down low enough. Some of the features I love are the adjustable sensitivity, built in night light, built in pre recorded lullabies, two way communication, automatic record upon movement, the temp gauge, etc. The battery works very well - I leave the base upstairs and charge it at night. During the day I just carry the handheld unit downstairs while the kids nap. Signal strength is awesome too! My last 2 monitors got terrible reception, but this one doesn't interfere with all my husbands "gadgets". Save yourself some headache and get this one!

Great Monitor

Pros: Great features

We purchased this monitor after one of our twins escaped from her crib one night. It has many great features. I love the movement sensor, you don't have to be watching the monitor constantly to know that one of them is in action it just beeps and I know to look, Also the picture is very sharp and clear even at night. I can finally sleep again without worrying. And the modern design is a plus. I am really loving this monitor!!

Great Monitor, but not without flaws

Pros: great feature set and good value

Cons: incompatible with macs for remote viewing

I've had this monitor for a couple weeks now. Overall its pretty impressive but it does have some weaknesses. I did some research before buying and compared this model in great detail to similar models from Motorola, Samsung, and Summer Infant. At $180, It was a great value. As I'm writing this however, the price has jumped to $299. Not worth it at that price. The video is decent quality and the frame rate is fast so it doesn't appear choppy like cheaper monitors. Battery life is good. The monitor and charging cradle are good quality and buttons and menus are intuitive and easy to navigate. Set up and installation were very quick and easy. The camera can also work wirelessly with 4 AA batteries but I have yet to find a need for that feature. Range is excellent. I walked around my entire block with the monitor and only lost signal when there were physical obstructions in the way(like other houses). The monitor has a signal strength indicator just like a cell phone as well as an out range warning unlike other models. The features it lacks compared to others are pan, tilt, and zoom, as well as the ability to view the feed from your TV. I don't have picture in picture on my TV, and I didn't want to pay $50-$70 more just to move the camera around remotely. In retrospect, I miss having at least a digital zoom as it can be tricky to find the right location for the camera to get the view you want. The features I liked were the temperature display and temp alarm, built-in lullabies, auto and manual recording to an included SD card, and auto muting so that you don't have to listen to white-noise. The deciding factor for me was the ability to remote view the video feed using Skype. Initially I wanted grandparents to use skype to see the baby, but I also wanted to use it as a nanny cam down the road. Unfortunately, this feature is not compatible with Macs. Lorex just released a driver (Nov)

@TechSavvyDad Remote viewing is compatible with most tablets, smartphones, or computers (both PC and Mac) so long as Skype has been installed. The remote viewing Mac requirements are: Mac OS v. 5.3 and above and Mac OS v. 10.5.8 and above.

Good in some areas, bad in others

Pros: Night Vision picture quality

Cons: No Zoom, No Pan, Audio.

I bought this monitor because of a friend referral. I also bought the Summer 3.5 Touch, and the Motorola MBP35 (3.5 screen). I originally bought the Summer Touch but wasn't 100% sold on it. That is why i purchased the other two.

First off, the good:

- Screen Clarity - Seemed better than the Summer and about the same as the Motorola.

- Night Vision - This monitor had the best vision at night of all of the monitors. Everything was much brighter and easier to see. (also listed in the Negatives later).

- Battery life - It seemed to get around 5 hours on a charge. About the same or a tad less than the Summer, but about 2 hours better than the Motorola.

- Ability to record and save. - I only played with this feature, but I thought it would be great to have if a nanny or babysitter was over and you could keep track of the actual happenings with your baby. - Neither of the other two monitors had this feature.

- Lullaby function - I'm not sure how much this would actually be used, but I thought it was a nice feature to have. The Motorola also had this.

- Night Light - Again, not sure how much it would be used, but another nice feature. Neither of the other two monitors had this.

- VIDEO STAYS ON when off of the charger. - I thought this was a great feature because on the other monitors you have to keep pressing the video button after it automatically times out after about 2 minutes to be able to see the screen and what is going on. They do this as a power saving feature but it is more aggravating than anything. The Lorex stays on and makes it easy.

- The ability to add other cameras and be able to view them all simultaneously. The other two monitors allow you to add cameras, but have to view one at a time. Again, not sure if most parents would ever need this, but it is a nice feature.

Now, with the BAD:

- No Zoom feature on the Lorex. Both the Summer and Motorola have this ability. It has a pretty clear.
