The cameras were very easy to add to our existing Lorex system and provide great peace of mind when we are not at home. Being able to check on our property from anywhere on various electronic devices is very easy and reduces stress!

The cameras itself are great and have a clear picture. The entire system is wonderful. However, they run on 2.4 ghz frequency so that KILLS your wifi. I'm on a 50mbps wifi and these slow the speed down to less than 1mbps and eventually shuts the wifi modem off because it keeps jamming up. The only solution is to make sure all of your devices are capable of running on 5.0ghz wifi frequency (think dual band router) and that should help. However, since that's a new frequency many devices are not compatible and you'll suffer from non-existent wifi in your home unless you shut these cameras off....which is pointless then to have these. I would not recommend them unless Lorex can provide a solution that doesn't kill wifi speeds running on 2.4ghz, but that sounds like it isn't a possibility. No matter what you try, you will not find a solution and eventually feel like you've wasted your money by going with wireless cameras.

Thank you for your feedback. Our technical support team was happy to help you with this.

I would never recommend that anyone buy from this company! I bought my first wireless cameras from best buy 6-2014. It was the 4 camera package. They worked great for the 12 months, after the 12 month came around one of my cameras would not work. Called 2 weeks after the year was up I was out of luck. I ordered another one. Same story again with 2 more. Now instead of 4 I only have 3 working cameras. Not ordering any more from this company. I feel these should last longer then 1 year ..... very disappointed.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you are having difficulty with your cameras. They are actually still within the 1 year warranty period. Please give our technical support team a call and they will either assist you to get the cameras working or they will initiate the warranty process. Technical support can be reached Monday to Saturday, 9am ? 10pm EST at 1-877-755-6739.

UPDATE: Everything is working great , Thank you very much for your help , service and checking in on it. That's great !-----
Good luck on getting parts for your system. I would not recommend a camera system from this company. I have called and talked to different people , had my ticket number . I finally ordered the part and it was wrong when I received it. The people I talked to was very hard to understand . When you call in you are on hold a very long time. I would not recommend any of the items.

For the most part the system work fairly good. However, I had to order 2 additional camera's and the power supply for the receiver did not work right out of the box.
First Problem: Lorex Tech Support and Customer Service are in the Philippines. It is very difficult to understand these people. This is not their fault, this is a Lorex problem.
Second: Their systems to move a replacement part to me has taken over 2 1/2 weeks and the part has still not shipped out. I am told it could be another day or two.
I think this is a sign of serious product issues. I would think twice before buying a Lorex system.
Third: They will NOT transfer calls back to the states where the product ships from so I can speak with someone that I can understand.
If you need Cheap security cameras with lousy customer service, then this product is for you. I will be spending a little more next time to get a better product and customer service.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any difficulty you experienced and hope everything is working well for you now.

I purchased an 8 camera HD1080 system in addition to the two wireless cameras. Order date was Nov or Dec 2015. The comments in this review reflect the performance of the complete HD1080 system.

First the good. The daylight picture quality provided by the system is excellent. The color and detail sharpness is without question state of the art.

Downhill from this point.

The night time picture quality is dark and of very poor detail.

The dvr is noisy. My living room is 24 ft. long and the operating sound of the dvr is very apparent regardless were one is in the room.

Disappointed.

Bought my two wireless camera system in June at Sam's this year. I installed the two camera's one at front and back door. Its a easy system and find it to be just what I needed. Since installing the first camera's decided to expand it two more camera's for each side of my house. The four camera's on my monitor works like a charm and find it to be a very useful tool in the security of my house. The wireless camera's was very easy to install and I printed off my manual online so far I'm very satisfied, also love the app. for my I-Phone works great.......... WILDMAN

For the price I paid this was a very disappointing investment. I have had Lorex cameras in the past and had great picture quality. Then I ordered these and no matter how much adjustments I make you still can't make out a face in the video. Poor video quality and they video wash out with minimal lighting. Going to another camera manufacturer with better customer service and a better video quality product.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you are not satisfied with the cameras and have reached out to you as we would like to make sure you have a system that meets your needs. Please respond to us and we would be happy to assist you.

After our home was broken into, we purchased 2 cameras. have recently added two more. happy to have them, but we lose contact periodically. Not good when you're away and want to check on your house. paid for expedited delivery, but had to call several time before they were shipped. Good customer service is hard to come by. Still, happy to have them.

I purchased this pair of cameras to add to my existing system. Set-up is easy. performance is so so. I noticed a drop in reception/signal strength on all cameras. I had 4 bars on the 2 older ones prior to adding these 2. Now I have 2 or 3 on older ones and 1 or 2 on newer ones. I had to move around stuff to get enough separation between recievers to get all cameras to at least be in range. You can only move them so far as they have a short cord to dvr. I seen somewhere that they don't recommend more then 4 wireless cameras on one system , yet they sell systems with 6 wireless cameras. I was sent an email that said, I would receive a 1 year extended warranty if I reviewed my purchases. I did so months ago yet my account shows no extended warranty on my products. If I were to do it again, I likely wouldn't buy wireless again. The clarity is just not there. Sure the DVR records in 960H yet the cameras only put out VGA quality.(BIG DISAPPOINTMENT) If you don't know the person on video you may not be able to identify them anyway. Guess it depends what you want from system. If your cameras are mounted outside be aware spider webs in front of lens will cause unit to record continuosly during the night hours. You will need to clean lens on a regular basis. Had an issued with 1 camera that was showing the motion detection grid onto the dvr recording. Floating dots in a grid pattern. I unplugged camera and it was gone upon restart. Weird.? They are what they are. Do your research. HD or VGA.?? Big difference. If you can go hardwired do that.

I`ve had my wired 8 channel system for 2yrs now and found myself replacing several camera`s. After talking to tech support I found out I could use 6 wireless camera`s with my system. Great no wires to rerun from cables being outside in the weather. So I tried 2 just to see how well they work. Needless to say Hook up was a breeze and the picture quality is way better than the other older cameras in my system. The night vision is bright and allows you to see even in the dark.
I plan to buy 4 more to max out my system. Glad I found out about these camera`s they really make a difference.

Ordered this LW2232 to add-on onto my system with an existing LW2231.

Be careful when ordering the LW2232 as they do not have the audio recording feature. I was told by sales rep. they are the same as LW2231 only difference is they are a two pack of cameras with 1 receiver for both cameras.

I am not very happy this was not mentioned nor prominently displayed on the web pages.

Otherwise they are pretty good for the price and wireless.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the miscommunication but glad you are now satisfied with the cameras you received.

We purchased these cameras as an addition to our wired system. We have an acre of property that we monitor and the current 8 camera system we had was just not quite big enough. Our construction had already been done so we didn't want wired cameras (hard to fish the wires through finished walls/ceilings). I was nervous to buy wireless cameras to add to our system but had no choice. After receiving these cameras, I have no worries at all. The installation was EASY (much, much easier than the wired ones) and the cameras were up and running within minutes. In addition, the picture is amazing and so crisp. I almost think the picture is better than our wired ones. The night vision is very good too. We have had them installed for about a week and so far we are extremely happy!

I have been very pleased with this system. I have the wireless and at first used each one on an extension chord and trial positions until all were exact. Everything works well and I appreciate the help from the technical line. As a senior everyone kept telling me to hire a service, this was not that hard and they really helped, even when having to take over my computer by remote and change the settings. I will purchase again if we ever move.

I absolutely love these cameras. I bought this set to add onto the original DVR and cameras I had purchased more than a year ago to keep an eye on my horses in the barn and in their corral. The camera that is outside in the barn works well, even when the temperature gets really cold. It has only frozen on me like twice, so I just unplug it and plug it back in and it has been good to go. I would highly recommend this product to anyone as a way to monitor your house and animals while you are away. It is really very user friendly and pretty easy to set up if you understand computers at all.

Cameras are easy to hook up and connect to DVR. Cameras also work well both in day and night. Did have some trouble with the motion sensor feature on the outdoor cameras. Even at a low sensitivity setting and blocking out certain areas, the motion would falsely trip - so not using this feature at the moment. The motion feature probably works better if the camera is indoor where the lighting is more constant. The other item to be prepared for is they severely interfere with the 2.4GHz wireless internet - slowed the connection speed down to almost nothing. Switching the wireless to 5GHz solved the problem - just need to make sure all your wireless devices are 5GHz capable. Despite these items, overall happy.

They stay in night mode. So I ordered another set of the lw2232pk2b s. Now have all 4 cams working beautifully.2 are in direct Canadian weather and 2 are shielded a bit. I bought these cameras to max out the four channel DVR package, LX425W, purchased from Sam's Club which came with two cameras. I own a four bedroom home and have the system securing our home. I found the installation to be easy and the DVR set up including the remote app for IPad to be simple. All outside cameras have waterproof boxes for camera power supplies and the camera framing was performed without much effort due in part to the efficient design of the camera bracket system.
Our system constantly records and we daily review all filmed footage. Now we can prepare for the Racoons stealing our bird suet cakes!
Totally satisfied with the system and I am extremely happy that I did not have to fish one single wire through any walls! The range we receive wirelessly is truly exceptional, without, an extender antenna our farthest camera is at 150 feet and the images are crystal clear!
This is a great product and I would highly recommend it to anyone is remotely concerned with their personal security or the security of their possessions!

Cameras were very easy to set up and look nice. However, there is one HUGE caveat: The adapter that comes with the cameras is on a 2.4 GHz band, which will jam your router signal no matter where it's located, rendering your Internet useless. The DVR is located in our second floor bedroom and the cable modem/router is located in the basement. When BOTH are active the cameras jam our wifi signal and drop our download speed from 50Mbs to less than 1Mbs. In order to get reliable Internet speed we have to shut the cameras off, which makes them useless. Boo! Hiss!

Over all had cameras 1 week. Have had another model that in 14 months either the transmitter and or camera failed. Out side of warranty.............So I waited a year to see what was new on the market. I have a Swann DVR security system and found it very useful especially when traveling. I wanted wireless cameras to watch our dogs when out of town over night..........

PROS: Easy to set up. No real instructions. I printed the manual from the web sight. Haveing the manual from another camera it helped me to speed thru the process. All it took was to attached to my DVR and locate the place for the cameras. I have them at least 50 feet (inside the house) from the DVR. Three walls between DVR and Cameras. NO problem on clarity. No problem with cameras. The whole process took longer to unpack then to set up. It truly is a plug and play type of camera unit. What will take longer is to truly find locations that best fit our needs........This camera seems to be the only one in a reasonable price range and LTV lines that fit the bill. I check out others and reason I held off for a year in the hopes something good will come out. With Lonex offering an another year warranty making it 2 years - when I submit this reivew makes me even happier. Normally you get 1 year + 6 months.

CONS: Comes only in white. Would have like in black..........They are bigger then my other cameras by at least 25%. They seem to be warm to the touch. Whether this is normal or not don't know. But my other 6 wired camers I don't have this warmness. What I like about the other Lonex model was that it had good picture quality in darkness. The same with these cameras.

Not so hot. Not very clear and night vision isn't going to see much. Also there is a cloudy ring appearing at night.
The previous camera I had was far more superior, but it was not compatible with the DVR connectors.
Too bad, and no response to emails from customer service.

Good wireless camera. The led lights work good at night, because you can see the area where the camera is focused unlike the old ones I got which shows only white snowy picture. This is recommended to anyone who wants a good wireless camera.

What's great about it: Easy to set up.

What's not so great: The cable is not long enough.

Has a clear picture, good night vision and a broader view than expected.

This product has...

Adequate viewing area

Short power cord

I would recommend this to a friend!

How many cameras do you need?4-6

we have had our cameras since september and we love them. They were very easy to install and they have great night vision also. We have had a very cold winter with a ton of snow and the cameras were not affected at all. I only wish they came in black, they would be less noticable.

This is traversed the negativity of those saying bad things about this system. I purchased this system with two cameras and I can't believe how easy it was to set up. My cameras are not in line with the transmitter and I have a full signal from the cameras. The cameras are on the outside of my house at the opposite side of where the transmitter is. I have called for support and got nothing but great response yes I did wait a little bit on the phone but in the end they were very helpful. No more than 15 to 20 minutes. I no longer had my cameras up more than a week and we caught someone trying to break into my wife's car. Called Lorex to help me figure out how to save the file to my computer and that went very well. We brought the criminal to justice police found who he was and was arrested thank you Lorex. My wife and I are actually going to buy two more cameras to add to my DVR so for those who read the negativity about these cameras it's so not true take it from a very picky consumer this is a great system for the money good luck with your shopping.

These are pretty amazing. Good color. Reliable so far (I have two of them and they are both about 3 months old). The range far exceeds their claimed 165 feet. Outdoors we get semi-reliable signal at 1300 feet!

Pros: Easy to Use, Motion-Activated, Stylish, Nice Design, great picture quality, great night vision, 25 to 30 fps recording in 960h resolution

Cons: only comes in white, too long of a hold time for tech support (45 min))

"I have other posts regarding surveillance equipment and I must say this wireless camera's performance tops all the others(6 different manufacturers) I have purchased. Superb picture quality and night vision! At best, I get about 100ft of night vision with my lighting conditions at the installed location. A bit more pricey than others, but well worth the extra cost."

The "system," LW21000, sold at a big box with two wireless cameras and a DVR, is sold as supporting up to two additional wireless cameras- the LW2232PK2B. Getting the four camera system paired is another issue. The user guide is ineffective and the antennas require "line of sight." Can you imagine a four camera "line of sight" system application? So, get ready to buy a multidirectional system antenna and individual camera 20' extender antennas from Lorex at about $70 each. In short, this inexpensive system ends up costing more than their "expensive" cousins from other manufacturers.

I am pleased with the quality of the picture and amazed at the distance I was able to install the camera from the receiver. The ease of installation was great and I intend to purchase additional cameras as I expand this system.

Superb viewing quality and night vision coverage. Excellent signal locked @ 3 to 4 bars(4 bars = max.) projecting through 5 walls @ 55 feet. Good weatherproof IP66 rating. Am going to buy another one.

Extremely dissatisfied with tech support, it takes hours (literately hours!!) to answer the phone. The tech support guys are not in the US making resolving a simple issue very hard due to the accent and multiple hold during the conversation. More over, I bought a 8 port DVR wireless system that came with 4 wireless cameras. The overall definition is not clear at all. Main downfall is that if you want to add more wireless cameras you just can't. They just told me today that I cant add more cameras. So they ship 3 wire cameras that I have no used for it. Even though when I place the order I was very specific with the system that I have they shipped whatever they want. Very disappointed.

We recently upgraded to these cameras and the Edge 3 from the comparable versions of 2 years ago. Everything works much better. For the cameras, the picture quality and wireless connectivity are greatly improved. The Edge 3 has much better remote access, we never have a problem now and we love being able to mirror to an external drive. Setup was essentially the same as for our previous model, very easy. Tech Support is good too.
